My Leesa Pillow Recommendation

I would especially recommend this pillow if you are going to buy a Leesa matttress. It definitely works well with the mattress since they are made of the same materials. Having both the pillow and the mattress gives you a constent feel across your entire body.

If you are going to buy the pillow alone. I recommend it for people looking for a cool pillow that has a little bounce to it. It feels very similar to a soft latex pillow. The inside of the pillow has holes in it to allow for extra breathability.

When it comes to the materials of the Elegear Revolutionary Cooling Blanket, one side is made of 100% cotton and the other side (the cooling side) is made of 80% mica nylon and 20% polyethylene. This mica nylon and polyethylene blend is what gives Elegear’s Arc-Chill Fabric its cooling abilities.

It first wasn’t clear if Arc-Chill was Elegear’s trademark or a separate company all together but I eventually figured it out. I checked out Arc-Chill’s Facebook page and when I clicked the main CTA button to “Learn More,” it redirected me straight to Elegear’s website so yes, Arc-Chill is most likely a trademark of Elegear.

The Elegear fabric is a smart fabric, which requires some care if you want to maintain it and have it last. Excess heat can destroy some fabrics; some textiles just do not belong in a drying machine. So, while it is machine washable, it should be handled as a “delicate,” and it should also be air-dried, and Elegear further emphasizes, preferably “in the shade.”

My Elegear Revolutionary Cooling Blanket Findings

I was completely skeptical about Elegear’s revolutionary cooling blanket. Amazon products can be hit or miss, Elegear doesn’t sound at all like a domestic brand name (because it isn’t) so I didn’t trust it and I wondered how much of its popularity was due to hype. My experience on Amazon has been mostly good, and I would think like most people, I’ve experienced my share of being met with both high-quality and low-quality products when it came time to arrive. It’s probably silly to doubt it so much; they do, after all, have the best customer service experience ever; they don’t even rely on USPS or UPS for their own shipping. They have their own planes, their own trucks! They ship at lightning speed and if you’re unhappy, you can return almost anything and everything. But enough about Amazon for now.

Elegear surprised me in a very positive way. While I was filming the review, I had a difficult time distinguishing how to get the best “experience” and how to best “test” the fabric. Knowing the Q max value and understanding the Q max index intrigued me on an intellectual level but it didn’t answer my questions. After taking a few days away from the product, I eventually figured it out and I realized what everyone else has said: it really is cooling!

If you want to test the fabric, you need to cover a lot of surface area. I tried this out by cloaking it over my bare shoulders and later after laying it down on my bed, and then laying on top of it. Then I really understood and felt the difference. Covering a hand or a piece of your arm probably won’t do it justice and that was my initial mistake. It’s also going to confuse you if you’re covered in a lot of fabric as it is; I got the best impression/effect on bare skin.

I’m glad I didn’t force a decision and come here and proclaim that it’s ineffective because that wouldn’t be true. Elegear’s Revolutionary Cooling Blanket works but it’s also not a block of ice so your expectations should be kept in check. I first suggest understanding just how “cooling” you want it. Maybe sleeping with an ice pack will work for some people but for something more subtle and gentle, and that doesn’t require nearly as much thought, a cooling blanket could do.

Once you get it out of the box you just cut open the plastic wrap and the mattress will begin to take life. This mattress took longer than most to fully expand. The directions say to wait 72 hours to get its full shape but you can sleep on it earlier than that if need be.

Here’s what it looks like right after opening. After about 3 days it will come to full shape.

My Signature Sleep Findings

Upon initially opening this mattress you will think that it is probably too soft. You need to give it adequate time to come to life though. After 3 days the mattress will firm up considerably. Here’s how much my 14 lb. bowling ball sinks into the mattress. This is a slow sink, meaning that it will slowly conform to you. Some Amazon reviewers describe this as a really nice hug.

This is a two-layer foam mattress with 4 inches of comfort contouring foam on the top layer so you really won’t notice any motion transfer and if you do, I would make sure that it is on a solid foundation. Here’s a quick video illustrating motion transfer on the mattress.

Here’s a look inside the mattress that shows how each layer reacts. It should be noted that there is no phase change cooling material in the top layer and some Amazon reviews note about it sleeping hot. I would say that this is due to the fact that it is a memory foam mattress and people transitioning from a spring to a foam mattress will notice that it does insulate considerably more.

My Signature Sleep Recommendation

Overall this mattress is an awesome value for the money. You would be hard pressed to find a less expensive mattress with this construction. In terms of how it feels, It will feel a bit firm at first but you will slowly sink into it. Another popular Amazon mattress is the Zinus Green Tea mattress which I found to be softer than this mattress. I think this mattress would be a more versatile mattress though and more accommodating to stomach sleepers.

The Couchbed is a mattress and a couch all in one. And unlike a futon, there are no metal or wooden parts. You simply flip one side and it instantly becomes a mattress or couch. I was given a free Couchbed for review. This is an extremely versatile piece of furniture for people living in small spaces where having a piece of furniture that serves two purposes comes in handy. A right now it comes in either a twin or queen size mattress. A queen size retails for $499.

Overview of the Couchbed

Here’s a quick video overview of the Couch Bed including just how easy it is to transition. I have it sitting on a platform base so you can see it better but of course, this was designed to go right on the floor.

You can expect it to arrive to your door about 5 business days after placing your order. Right now they have five colors to choose from. Blue, Limestone, Charcoal, Red and Black. For this review, I chose the Charcoal color.

It will arrive in a box like the one below. It is around 70 lbs so a bit heavy but certainly lighter than a typical couch and easier to transport.

My CouchBed Findings

As a mattress, this is certainly on the firmer end of the spectrum but that’s to be expected since it also needs to function as a couch. As a couch, you get great support and could even nap on the queen size couch if you wanted to.

There is a zipper to unzip the fabric although it is recommended that you spot clean the cover instead of wash it.

Here’s a look at the layers inside. As you can see there are two distinct layers the support layer and the top layer which contours and has the phase change cooling material.

I made the clip below to show how each layer reacts. The top layer is slower to react because it provides more contouring.

The picture below shows my 14 lb. bowling ball on the bed/couch without the cover. Even with the contouring layer, you aren’t going to sink all that much.

I should point out that I didn’t notice the transition between the two pieces when laying on it as a mattress. You won’t even see it when you put sheets on it. This will fit traditional sheets just fine since it is the exact same dimensions as a regular queen size mattress.

My CouchBed Recommendation

If space is tight or you just want to get more use out of a spare room on your house the CouchBed is a great choice. It is super easy to fold and transition to a couch, even more so than a futon and best of all there are no parts that will break. Anyone who has slept on a cheap futon will usually find the floor a better alternative. As a mattress, you won’t get any metal rods digging into your back at night either. And as a couch, it is sleek and comfy for video games or a Netflix marathon. Given the very accessible price, you get a comfy couch and a quality mattress all for $500.

Findings

Although I am mostly a stomach sleeper, I can appreciate how this works for side and back sleepers by giving proper support for your neck while keeping you in alignment. Belos is a view of the contouring of the pillow.

Here’s a quick video of how the pillow reacts. I really like how this pillow slowly contours. That feeling isn’t for everyone but Tempurpedic is known for it and it offers excellent pressure relief.

The cover is removable and washable which is a nice feature. Here’s a picture of the zipper.

Conclusion

I highly recommend side sleepers who aren’t getting good support to try out at neck pillow. Tempurpedic has been making them for decades and they design has stood the test of time. If you’re wondering what size to get, they have a nice chart on their website that recommends a size based on your height. Often it seems that people don’t have the right loft in their pillow causing their head to get out of alignment.

Especially considering that waterbase pillows are clinically shown to improve sleep, as well as reduce neck pain overall but don’t worry; there will be more on that later.

Below is a video unboxing, demo and review of the Mediflow Waterbase Pillow. It has a nice starting point to begin with, in terms of firmness. I would say that without any water at all, that the pillow has a medium firm feel.

My Mediflow Waterbase Pillow Findings

The Mediflow Waterbase Pillow looks like any old pillow until it’s turned to the back, where the water chamber is. Getting acquainted with the technology is a bit of a funny feeling because the concept is so unique.

Opening the cap on the waterbase was easy, and the blue nozzle that comes included in the packaging was actually designed to help in this regard. So for anyone with long nails, or weak hands, fear not.

Mediflow provides you with a flow chart that is meant to serve as a guide on how much water you should be using. I found that the easiest way to fill the pillow was by reusing a 1 liter bottle from an empty bottle of water. A full liter isn’t sufficient enough. You will need at least 2 liters (which is considered to provide soft firmness) to feel any substantial difference.

Pouring water into the waterbase was simple and kind of fun but I do suggest to do this slowly. I ended up with a small spill myself from looking away for just a moment. How you hold the nozzle will dictate how slowly or how quickly the pillow takes the water.

Once you’re done pouring your desired amount of water into the water base chamber of the pillow, comes the important step of removing the air pocket. This is pretty important, so as to avoid having both air and water in the pillow- which can cause issues when pressure is being applied to it, like there will be when you’re sleeping on it. When putting the cap back onto the waterbase, it is suggested that you use the blue nozzle to close it and tighten it. They include a diagram with the packaging to show you how to do this most effectively.

My Mediflow Waterbase Pillow Recommendation

The reason I am most impressed with the pillow is because there was actually a clinical study conducted to research the effectiveness of waterbase pillows. The study was published in the Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and can be found on pubmed.gov, a US National Library of Medicine, sharing findings from the National Institutes of Health. That specific study can be found here.

The conclusion of the study entitled “Cervical pain: a comparison of three pillows” found that:

“The water-based pillow was associated with reduced morning pain intensity, increased pain relief, and improved quality of sleep.”

The other two pillows that it was compared to was the subject’s usual pillow and a roll pillow. Below is a screenshot of the actual study conducted:

The study alone made me feel that trying the MediflowWaterbase Pillow would be a wise experiment for someone with cervical pain or general neck tension and stiffness.

The common symptoms of cervical degenerative disc disease is having neck pain and stiffness. That being the case, people with this type of particular health issue, need to take precautions on how they sleep, in terms of both mattresses and pillows.

On another note, some online reviews from people who have used the pillow, or are currently using the pillow, mention the possibility of the pillow leaking. This means how you tighten the cap of the waterbase chamber is especially important. Keep in mind to make use of the nozzle that comes with the pillow.

Pillows are recommended to be washed every 3 months so I think if you were to wash this pillow, it would be best to hand-wash it. However, over time that may affect the functionality of the pillow overall. Pillows are recommended to be replaced every 6 months so that’s something to also think about but Mediflow’s one year warranty on manufacturer defects can at least provide some comfort if any issues were to arise within that 1 year window.

Overall, I think the pillow is a really interesting and creative find. Knowing that a clinical study was conducted, even if on a relatively small sample size (41 individuals, but specifically with cervical issues) can shed some light on what this type of waterbase pillow can provide for individuals both with and without health issues.

And trust me, you will want white glove delivery. As you can see from the picture below, this is a big package that is also extremely heavy. I didn’t opt for the white glove delivery because I wanted to assemble it myself. As you can see the massage chair comes in three boxes with the actual chair in the bottom box. If you don’t opt for white glove delivery, it will arrive via freight delivery on a pallet and you will need to bring each box into your house. Thankfully I didn’t have to go up any stairs but it is still a pain, even with a dolly.

I found it best to open the biggest box first and get rid of all the packaging. There’s lots of packaging to keep the chair from getting damaged in transit and it takes a while to unbox but having a clean work area is important because you don’t want to lose anything.

The smaller boxes contain the arms, covers, electronics and instruction manual. Osaki put the instruction manual in a really nice box that is about the size of an iPad box.

Before you do anything, make sure to read the instruction manual and lay out all the pieces. I did find that the instruction manual for setup was lacking in a few areas which I will get into later but overall, setup is pretty straightforward and there aren’t that many steps. It helps to have two people for setup since pieces like the leg extension are heavy and need to be assembled onto the main unit.

I had the hardest time getting the leg rest attached. Mainly because it is very heavy and you have to align it with the connections on the main unit. However once you figure this out the rest is straight forward.

Osaki goes above and beyond with little details like illuminated logos that project onto the floor when you start the massage chair.

The hand massage slots also have little bumps that feel great when the massage is running.

My Osaki OS-Pro Maestro LE Recommendation

This is the third massage chair I have used on a regular basis and it is by far the most advance and feature-rich. Although I have owned if for about 5 months, I am still learning new features and making adjustments for an optimal massage.

One negative about the Osaki Maestro is that the foot massage part is a little too small for my feet. I wear size 13 shoes and I it is a little tight. If you are a taller person like me or just have big feet, check out the Osaki Highpointe which was just released. It is considerably more but has an open foot massager which is great.

If I were to do an Osaki massage chair comparison against the X77 massage chair from XChair, I would say that the Osaki gives a more intense massage with many more preset programs and features and of course the touchscreen. Both have the zero gravity seating, entire body massage and heat therapy but Osaki commands a premium because of that extra intense massage you will get.

There’s no questioning the quality of this massage chair. As of this writing, Costco currently sells the Osaki OS-4D Pro Maestro but keep in mind that this is an older version with a handheld remote instead of a touchpad. Costco is selling their version of the Osaki Maestro for $6,899. My Tulo Liv Findings

Here’s how much sink you can expect with the Tulo. The top layer of foam is very soft and responsive, it recovers quickly and is fairly breathable.

There’s really no motion transfer with this mattress either. It’s all foam so no pesky springs to bother your partner if you change positions or get out of bed at night. Here’s a video to illustrate the point.

Here’s a look inside the mattress. It comes with a zippable cover but there should really never be a need to unzip the cover. Note the the middle layer has an egg crate shape to its foam. This helps with breathability and softens it up a little too.

My Tulo Recommendation

Overall this is a very impressive mattress for the price. What struck me was how versatile this mattress is. You can sleep in any position on this mattress and be comfortable. While the mattress is only 9 inches thick it will accommodate people of varying sizes although I think if you are above 250 lbs. you may want to go with one of the original tulo mattresses for better support.

In comparison to the other budget mattresses that I have reviewed this is the best mix of breathability and softness. You can go softer like the Zinus Green Tea 12 inch but you will lose breathability. The Lucid is another option but I found that the Lucid is much firmer than the tulo liv.

My Sealy Recliner Findings

The Aria lift recliner is now my favorite piece of furniture in the house. It is incredibly soft and supports you in all the right areas. It’s great for watching TV or taking naps. Although I there’s absolutely no reason for me to use the incline feature, I am guilty of lifting myself out of a TV binge stupor out of sheer laziness. It’s rare that I ever use the seated position anymore. And although I rarely use it as a power lift chair to get out of the chair, it’s nice to know that I have the option of the power lift recliner incline as well.

I often work from home and use my laptop as my primary device. While its great to have a USB port in these chairs and other pieces of furniture I own, The Aria actually has an outlet installed inside the storage area. Now I can plug in my laptop without digging around on the floor for the power strip and creating another tripping hazard. I now keep my laptop charger inside the chair arm along with remotes and usb cables for my phone. One drawback is that it is a wired remote. I would have like a button on the side of the chair instead. It’s sort of annoying to have to fish out the remove each time I want to get in and out of the chair. But, for someone with limited mobility, it does make sense to have a wired remove that can be places where it’s most accessible.

The Aria does not look as sleek and modern as the Nolan recliner but it is softer and the fabric is cozier. I’m at the age where comfort wins over looks, especially now that so much of what we do is at home.

The Nolan recliner does offer some key advantages over the Aria though. For instance, the Nolan has a head tilt feature that comes in handy when you are reclined and trying to watch TV. It is also made with a fabric that is easier to clean than the Nolan and is darker so will probably go with more of your other furniture. Lift chairs have come a long way over the years and I expect that they will grow in popularity not only as the population ages but as people realize they can have the benefits of lift chairs at an affordable price.

Both chairs have Sealy Support HD foams inside along with the Posturepedic encased coils. The combination of these two materials makes the chairs incredibly comfortable. The Sealy collection is a great choice for heavier people looking for recliner and/or incline chairs. They support up to 350 lbs. and have a 1-year warranty. You can get a longer warranty though through their warranty partner, Extend which I would recommend, especially given how often I use this chair. The controller on the Nolan takes some practice since you have both the incline/reline as well as head tilt buttons so close together but once you get the hang of it, it’s super convenient and it also has a USB port which is perfect for keeping my phone and other device charged. These features are new to power lift recliners and now should come standard.

Sealy is an established and trusted mattress brand that has taken its knowledge of comfort and support and brought that technology into some amazing recliners. My Helix Midnight and Dusk Luxe Recommendations

Helix is by far one of the most popular mattresses in our San Diego showroom. Of the two models we have on display, the Midnight Luxe edges out the Dusk Luxe in terms of popularity. My Experience with the Apollo Duvet

Upon taking the duvet out of its packaging, I discovered it was meticulously rolled, making it challenging to return to the bag later. One pleasant surprise was a diagram illustrating the duvet’s functionality—something I haven’t seen with other products. This duvet is especially well-suited for guests, allowing them to adjust the bedding to their preferred thickness and temperature, no matter their thermostat settings or floor within the house.

Once unrolled, two distinct sides of the duvet were evident, which is quite beneficial for individual temperature preferences. Given the initial setup, I’d recommend starting with both layers attached for optimal warmth. It’s also advisable to use a duvet cover to keep it clean—while machine-washable, washing an insert is often a hassle.

The perimeter of the duvet features snap buttons, while the inner attachments use a different type of button that is less noticeable while sleeping. Although this makes connection a bit more cumbersome, their practical design ensures each side remains securely in place. The detail and quality of construction are evident in these buttons, which have a sleek matte finish.

Minor details, such as the care tag stitched onto all four sides, contribute to the overall aesthetic. I find this thoughtful touch immensely helpful, as it prevents that annoying tag from sticking out.

Helix as a brand has been around for over 6 years and has grown dramatically. They make their mattress in Phoenix Arizona ships fast. Most orders I have placed arrive in about a week, maximum 2 weeks. Despite midnight lux being a thick, hybrid mattress with springs and foam, it still ships compressed in a box which is delivered by FedEx or UPS. Compressing it in a box does not take away from its quality or feel. It’s just a much more conveninet method of shipping mattresses these days.

Here’s a short video showing the unboxing process. This mattress is basically ready to sleep on after you open the box. Normally you should wait about 5-8 hours for the mattress to fully expand but the Helix has a special type of foam that acts more like latex and springs to life almost instantly.

This mattress features multiple comfort layers that are thoughfully put together to create a true medium feel.

The cover is made with TENCEL fabric which is more breathable than cotton or if you sleep extra hot, you can add the GlacioTex Cooling Cover which has a phase change material making the mattress cool to the touch. This will help you cool down and relax faster when you go to bed.

The first comfort layer is the Memory Plus Foam layer. It’s a high density foam with a medium feel for great pressure relief.

The second comfort layer is a Gel Visco foam design to support and cushion your body. It’s made with a medium IFD for a consistent firmness.

There is a High-Grade Polyfoam layer that is used as a transition between the foam layers and the base coil system.

The Helix Midnight Luxe is made with 1,000+ wrapped coils that are zoned out across the mattress to give you more support at your hips and better pressure relief at your shoulders. These coils will help balance your body evenly across the mattress.

The bottom layer is made with DuraDense Foam to provide a base support and durability.

My Helix Midnight Luxe Review

As a predominantly side sleeper myself, the Helix Midnight Luxe is my favorite among the Helix mattress models. It is a soft mattress that provides just the right amount of support for side sleepers but will still work great for back sleepers. This Helix Midnight Luxe is a good choice for couples that want the targeted support that only coils can provide will eliminating most of the motion transfer due to the quality layers of foam at the top of the mattress.

This mattress is made in the USA out of their Arizona factory. Shipping is usually about 5 business days and in some cases less if you live in California or Arizona.

Since their inception, Helix has prided itself on customization and acknowledges that one size does not fit all. They made the Midnight Luxe specifically for side sleepers with shoulder and/or hip pain that want great support but don’t want to be woken up by their partner in the middle of the night.

If there are any cons for the Helix Midnight Luxe, it is that if you sit at the edge of the mattress, you won’t get great support. That’s because of the softer layers of foam at the top. There are firm coils along the perimeter of the mattress for good support but comments I get from customers is that the side can sag a bit if you sit on it. That said, you will be spending the majority of your time sleeping on the mattress and this in my opinion is a worhty trade off.

Considering the amount of foam on the top of the mattress, I expected it to sleep warmer than it actually did. The ability to keep me cool is in part due to the Tencel cover but also the quality of foam below it. This foam sort of acts like latex in that it bounces back quickly and doesn’t leave impressions. Not only will this make it sleep cooler but it’s easy to switch positions and get in and out of the mattress.

One drawback to the Helix Midnight Luxe is the lack of edge support. Although it has a zone coil system with firmer coils along the edge, the multiple layers of foam above the coil system are fairly soft and won’t be as supportive however it will offer better edge support that any memory foam mattress out there.

Since this mattress is one of the softer offerings from Helix, Stomach sleepers should instead consider the Helix Dusk Luxe.

I also give Helix overall high marks for customer service. They have grown exponentially as a company and they may not be able to answer calls as quickly as some of the other companies but when I chat or send emails, I get quick responses.

My Helix Midnight Luxe Recommendation

I have the Helix Midnight Luxe available to try in my Yawnder mattress stores and what suprises me is that the customers specifically looking to try this mattress end up buying it. The same goes with the Helix Dusk Luxe which we also have on display. This tells me that Helix is doing it’s job in marketing the mattress by accurately setting expectations of what the mattress feels like and how it will perform. While you will pay a little more for this mattress, it is well worth the investment. Not only are you getting a superior product but you just can’t beat the feel. I highly reommend this mattress for side sleepers and combo sleepers. If you want a firm mattress, look elsewhere but if you want one that can be soft, supportive and easy to move around on, look no further.

If you are looking for an all-natural option, consider the Birch mattress, it is also made by Helix and the Birch Luxe is their softer offering which is similar in firmness to the Helix Midnight Luxe but since it is latex, it can’t offer as good of pressure relief. Curfew CBD Blanket: Must-Have for Effortless Relaxation

CBD is exploding in popularity and we are just beginning to learn about its benefits. It seems every week a new CBD oil company pops up online and so there’s no shortage of choices for oils and balms. But sometimes you want an even more passive approach to CBD. Recently I reviewed the CBD Pillow which is a pillow that has CBD infused into the cover. The CBD Blanket by Curfew is similar in that you don’t need to ingest anything, you simply put the blanket on and start reaping the benefits.

Right now the Dream Blanket retails for $295 but you also get the Dream Salve which is 500mg of broad-spectrum CBD that normally retails for $75 on its own. For this review, I received all of these for free plus the Evening Tincture which is also 500mg of broad-spectrum CBD and also retails for $75.

How Does Curfew Dream Blanket Work?

This blanket works just like any other blanket you just put it over your body and relax! I would say that the blanket is on the thinner side and that was probably intentional because you want to be able to use the blanket even if you aren’t that cold so you can get the CBD benefits. You can always put another layer on top of it.

The Dream Blanket works by coming into contact with your skin, so it’s best used with a short sleeve shirt to maximize contact. The blanket is infused with micro-encapsulated beads that are released with friction and then go into your skin. The Curfew website explains how it works as follows:

CBD is infused into the Dream Blanket fibers using micro-encapsulation technology. Tiny droplets of CBD are wrapped in a protective coating. This patented technology protects the CBD droplets from evaporation, oxidation and contamination.

The micro-encapsulated CBD is then bonded to yarn, which is then knit into the Dream Blanket. The friction that is created when using the blanket will break the walls of the CBD capsule where it is released onto your skin.

This blankets is supposed to last 20 wash cycles, or an estimated 2 years if you follow the wash instructions which ask you to machine wash on cold and air dry, do not place in the dryer.

My Curfew Dream Blanket Findings and Recommendation

I was pleasantly surprised to find that this blanket did not reek of CBD. I appreciate that there was no overwhelming smell and it’s nice to know that it is washable.

In conclusion, I recommend a CBD blanket for people that are averse to taking tinctures or pills and still want to experience the benefits of CBD with milder effects. If you consistently use CBD and happen to use blankets often, then this will actually end up saving you money in the long run.

Ananda is a company that offers a complete sleep solution. They offer a memory foam mattress with cooling cover and an adjustable base with all the popular features for an extremely competitive price. A queen size Ananda mattress and adjustable base retails for $1,299. Both the base and mattress come shipped to your door in a box and both come with a 120 night trial with free returns.

Overview of the Ananda Mattress

Here’s a quick video overview of the entire sleep system which again includes the adjustable bed and mattress.

As you can see below the adjustable bed and mattress both come in a box and are shipped straight to your door. No need to schedule a delivery.

I first setup the adjustable bed which is very straightforward. The queen size basically comes folded in half.

All you need to do is unfold the base and all the parts can be found there.

The first step is to screw in the legs and take out all the other pieces including the remote.

Each leg has 3 individual pieces that can be screwed on top of each other. This allows you to adjust the height of the bed so that it fits in your existing bed frame.

Here’s a closeup of where to screw in the legs.

Once all size legs are screwed in you can then make sure the wiring is connected for power and then flip the bed over to plug it in.

The remove comes synced with the bed so you can start using it right away.

Here’s what it looks like all setup. There is a bar at the foot of the bed to keep the mattress from sliding off.

You get 3 options to operate the Adjustable Base: Backlit Wireless Remote Control (Included), “Ananda Base Wifi” Remote Control App for Phones or Mobile Devices (Alexa, Siri, Google), or Voice-activated commands through the Amazon Alexa App and Device (not included). This means you can ask Alexa to raise or lower your bed without having to use your remote!

After you get the base setup its time to get out the mattress. It comes wrapped in a box.

How Much Does the Ananda Mattress Cost?

Construction of the Ananda Mattress

Below are the construction details of the mattress. It is an all foam mattress that is 12 inches deep.

My Ananda Sleep Findings

Starting out with the mattress, it is promoted as a medium firmness which I would say is accurate. Maybe just slightly softer than most all foam mattresses labeled medium firm. Here’s a picture that illustrates how much sinkage you get with my 14 lb. bowling ball.

It has a zippered cover which is machine washable although I always recommend a mattress protector as sometimes these covers can be hard to get back on.

My Ananda Recommendation

For the money, it’s really hard to beat all that you get with this mattress. If you are already in the market for an adjustable bed, this price alone for the adjustable is a great value. When you add in the mattress it makes it an even harder deal to resist. I think the mattress will appeal to most sleepers and all sleep styles. It is made with quality foam that doesn’t sleep hot and recovers relatively quickly. Since you get a 120 night trial on both the mattress and adjustable it is definitely worth trying. If you aren’t happy with either you can return them but if for instance, the mattress isn’t ideal, it would make a great guest room mattress and you can put your existing mattress on the adjustable.
