What we tested

What we reviewed
Yawnder received the original Allswell/Luxe-era hybrid, built with quilted gel foam, transition foam and individually encased coils.
Medium-firm feel
The mattress kept the sleeper more on top of the bed than a soft foam mattress. That made position changes easy and reduced the amount of material surrounding the body.
Coil response
The spring system added bounce and support while the quilted comfort layer softened the initial contact. It felt more responsive than an all-foam mattress without becoming excessively springy.

Unboxing
The queen Mino arrived roll-packed without being folded, so the box was tall but the mattress had fewer fold creases. Once the plastic was cut, it expanded quickly.

What EGOHOME actually feels like
The Black Hybrid 12″ sits at a true medium-firm (~6.5/10) — very close to a Beautyrest Silver Hybrid in feel, at roughly a quarter of the price. The graphene cover is real, not marketing paint: on a warm night it felt cooler to the touch than a comparable non-graphene hybrid at the same room temp. It’s not a magic cure for hot sleepers, but it’s a genuine, measurable benefit.
The Tenzura Hybrid is softer (5.5/10) with a deeper memory-foam hug. Side sleepers under 220 lb did well on it in our testing. Above 220 lb we’d steer you to the 14″ version for better contour and edge support.

So — what’s the catch?
The honest answer isn’t dramatic. It’s three things:
Coil gauge is lighter. The pocketed coils are thinner-gauge steel than what you’d find in a Beautyrest or Stearns & Foster. In practice this shows up as slightly weaker edge support and a shorter usable lifespan — expect 5–7 years of good sleep, not 10–12.
Foam density is average, not premium. The comfort layers are CertiPUR-US certified (no PBDEs, low VOCs, meets density minimums), but they’re not the ultra-high-density foams Tempur-Pedic uses. Body impressions may develop earlier.

My Arctic Dreams Findings
This mattress is on the firmer end of the spectrum. I think that’s because there’s really only one layer of foam at the top and although the coils help with contouring they are still fairly firm. There’s a little batting stitched into the cover to soften it up a bit.
Here you can see how much my 14lb. bowling ball sinks into the mattress. I really like the feel of the phase change cover. It’s sort of a silky feel and is cool to the touch. Most mattresses at this price range will use a simple knit cover which gives you more of contouring. This mattress has batting stitched into the cover which gives the mattress a more traditional feel.

I recommend the Arctic Dreams mattress for people on a budget that tend to sleep hot. It is a bit on the firmer side so it’s better for stomach and back sleepers but side sleepers can still get benefit from the mattress if they are OK firmer feel and have good shoulder and neck support from their pillow. My Signature Sleep Findings
Upon initially opening this mattress you will think that it is probably too soft. You need to give it adequate time to come to life though. After 3 days the mattress will firm up considerably. Here’s how much my 14 lb. bowling ball sinks into the mattress. This is a slow sink, meaning that it will slowly conform to you. Some Amazon reviewers describe this as a really nice hug.
This is a two-layer foam mattress with 4 inches of comfort contouring foam on the top layer so you really won’t notice any motion transfer and if you do, I would make sure that it is on a solid foundation. Here’s a quick video illustrating motion transfer on the mattress.

It should be noted that there is no phase change cooling material in the top layer and some Amazon reviews note about it sleeping hot. Overall this mattress is an awesome value for the money. You would be hard pressed to find a less expensive mattress with this construction. In terms of how it feels, It will feel a bit firm at first but you will slowly sink into it. Another popular Amazon mattress is the Zinus Green Tea mattress which I found to be softer than this mattress. I think this mattress would be a more versatile mattress though and more accommodating to stomach sleepers.

How does the Signature Sleep Hybrid 12" Mattress compare to the Memory Foam version?

We tested the original 12-inch Revel foam mattress sold through Amazon. Its medium feel balanced contouring with support, and the faster-response middle layer made it feel less slow-moving than traditional memory foam. Here is what we found when we slept on it and opened the cover.
Three-layer foam build
The reviewed Revel used three inches of cooling gel foam, two inches of faster-response LiftTex-style transition foam and a seven-inch support base.
Balanced medium feel
Yawnder found a useful compromise between softness and support. It contoured enough for side sleeping without feeling as slow or deep as denser traditional memory foam. Ben still preferred a softer surface for his own side sleeping. He also noticed the transitions between the foam layers more than on some pricier mattresses; that was the main comfort tradeoff in the original test.
Low off-gassing and fast expansion
The mattress came to shape quickly and produced relatively little odor compared with many compressed foam beds of the era.

Sinkage
The 14-pound bowling-ball photo showed moderate contouring rather than an ultra-plush sink.

Our original verdict was favorable for a budget foam mattress: the balanced feel, quick expansion and relatively little initial odor stood out. It was less appealing for someone seeking a very plush surface or a smoother transition between layers. The reviewed bed used foam throughout, with no coil support unit, despite the historical use of the word “hybrid” in some descriptions. Revel’s current availability and return terms are unverified. AmazonBasics Memory Foam Mattress Review: Original 12-Inch Testing Restored
The AmazonBasics page had lost the specific 12-inch hands-on review that originally made it useful.
What we bought
Yawnder purchased/reviewed the 12-inch AmazonBasics memory-foam mattress rather than the thinner 8- or 10-inch versions.
Soft feel
Among similarly constructed three-layer foam mattresses, the 12-inch AmazonBasics skewed soft. At around 200 pounds, the reviewer still felt adequately supported, but cautioned that the thinner versions would likely feel less substantial for heavier sleepers.
Three-layer construction
The mattress used memory foam over two convoluted support layers, with ventilation holes and sculpted surfaces intended to increase airflow.
Sinkage
Our 14-pound bowling ball produced substantial compression, consistent with the softer feel.
Motion transfer
The foam construction controlled movement far better than a traditional spring mattress, although the lower-density feel meant it was not the most motion-deadening foam bed we had tested.

Comfort & Relax Mattress Review: Original Amazon Foam Testing Restored
The Comfort & Relax page had lost a surprisingly detailed hands-on review of this older Amazon-focused budget foam mattress.
What we reviewed
Yawnder received a 12-inch, three-layer all-foam Comfort & Relax mattress sold through Amazon.
Firmness
The mattress was slightly softer than many other three-layer budget foam beds we had reviewed—firmer than some ultra-soft Zinus models but softer than many hybrids.
Construction
The reviewed model used a fabric cover over two comfort/transition foam layers and a thick base layer. The mattress also arrived with compressed pillows inside the package.
Sinkage and motion
Original photos showed moderate sinkage. As an all-foam mattress, it controlled partner movement better than a spring bed.
