Sweetnight Hybrid Mattress Review: Original Test and Construction

Ben
sweetnight 12 inch plush hybrid pillow top e1563742028683

Original verdict: Our reviewer found the older 12-inch SweetNight plush pillow-top hybrid comfortable and notably stable when a partner moved. It was a softer-feeling, foam-and-coil mattress. SweetNight’s current Island line may differ from that original sample.

SweetNight sent the mattress for the original review. It arrived compressed in a box, and the reviewer tested it at home after opening it. The following observations belong to that older mattress, which the article also called the Island hybrid.

What our reviewer noticed

The reviewer had previously slept mainly on traditional connected-coil mattresses, where a partner’s movement could interrupt sleep. On the SweetNight, they noticed far less movement when their partner shifted position. They described the firmness as low to mid-range, consistent with a cushioned pillow-top and foam surface.

The original review also reported little initial off-gassing and a positive early sleep experience. Those are observations from one sample, not a guarantee that another mattress will smell or feel the same. The review was written early in its use, so it did not establish long-term durability.

Construction of the reviewed mattress

The original article described individually wrapped steel coils beneath layers of foam and gel memory foam, with a knitted cover and pillow-top. SweetNight described the foam as CertiPUR-US certified at the time. Certification applies to qualifying foam, not automatically every component of the finished mattress.

Who might like this feel?

A soft-to-medium pillow-top can appeal to people who prefer cushioning and want less motion from a partner. The tested version may not be the best reference for someone seeking a distinctly firm surface. Try any mattress in your usual position, and check whether its edge feels stable enough for getting in and out.

Although the older product used gel foam marketed for cooling, comfort depends on the room, bedding and individual. The original review did not provide a controlled temperature comparison.

What to check on today’s Island Hybrid

SweetNight currently lists an Island Hybrid in multiple thicknesses. A shared name does not prove that today’s mattress matches the older 12-inch pillow-top reviewed here. Compare the current layers, firmness, size availability and product photos.

Check the final price, delivery, return policy, trial conditions and warranty with the seller. You can also explore the SweetNight link from the original article; Yawnder may earn a commission from qualifying purchases. Confirm the destination and product before ordering.
