Emma Mattress Review: Stunning Comfort at a Great Price!

Emma Mattress

The Emma Mattress is an all foam mattress that comes shipped in a box. The Emma mattress is made in Derby, England and was recently named a Best Buy by Which? magazine. The Emma is not just a typical 3 layers foam mattress. Instead, they incorporate individual pocket coils between the layers of foam for a more adaptive feel.

Overview of the Emma Mattress

Here’s a video of me on the Emma highlighting some of its features. This mattress retails at 649 pounds for a king size. According to their website, the mattress will be delivered to your home in about 3-5 business days. It comes compressed in a box which means easy transport to your house and into your room.

The Emma also comes with a 100 night trial period where you can try it out in the comfort of your own home and if you don’t like it returns are free.

Construction of the Emma Mattress

Inside of Emma Mattress

Below are some of the construction highlights of the Emma mattress as listed on their website.

Cover
The top cover consists of special climate fiber that regulates humidity. At the same time, it is so elastic that it fits the core of your mattress, perfectly.

Top Layer
The Airgocell® foam provides you with ideal comfort thanks to exceptional point-elasticity that allows one area to compress without affecting the rest of the mattress. In addition, Emma’s open-pored highly breathable material won’t make you sweat.

Coil Layer
Up to 2000 individual pocket springs optimised to balance out pressure disparities and provide the precise support your body needs.

The visco-elastic memory foam that rests within the intermediate layer distributes pressure optimally and adapts to your body’s unique contours. The material is a modern innovation that keeps you comfortable in any sleep position.

Our cold foam supports you where it matters. The firm bottom layer provides the necessary counter pressure whatever your sleeping position is and offers pressure relieving support for your lower back.

The dark gray side cover ensures optimal air circulation, gives the Emma mattress a stylish look and provides traction thanks to the practical anti-slip elements at the bottom.

Here’s another shot of the inside of the Emma.

Emma Mattress Layers

My Emma Mattress Findings

Here’s a peek inside the Emma mattress. Notice how each layer reacts.

Being an all foam mattress. The Emma handles motion disturbances very well. Here’s a video that shows how much the mattress isolations motion. For this video I used a couple bowling balls.

This mattress sinks a bit on the top layer but you get good support from the layers underneath. Here’s a photo that shows how much my bowling ball sinks on the Emma.

Emma Mattress Sink

As an added touch this mattress comes with stitched handles on each side to make it easy to rotate or move.

Emma Mattress Side View

What I think really sets the Emma apart from the other online mattress companies in England is that this mattress comes with a  coil system. This gives the mattress just a bit more bounce without sacrificing conforming. It also adds a bit more breathibility.  Below is a picture of the coil system. These are small coils that provide extra contouring.

Emma Mattress Micro Coils

My Emma Recommendation

I found the Emma to be a bit firmer than the Leesa and about the same firmness of the Eve mattress. These are the other two online brands I have reviewed that are available for purchase in England. What I especially like about the Emma is that you get a more complex construction with the added coil system. With the 100 night guarantee you also have nothing to lose by trying it out. And, at this price point it is a great buy!

Mattress Topper Must-Have: Best Tips for Lasting Comfort

Mattress Topper Lifespan

[Tagline]

A mattress topper is a great bedding accessory to indulge in. A good quality mattress topper protects your mattress from general dust and stains. This not only helps in keeping the mattress clean for a longer time but also helps in improving the mattress’s quality and life span. Apart from this a good quality mattress topper also gives the added benefit of extra cushiony comfort and good support. All these qualities make the mattress topper a “must-have” in any bedroom.

The real question now is how long does the mattress topper last? Do you have to change it often or is it a one-time purchase? Something that you can just buy and forget about till you have to change your mattress itself? This point is important since you need to do the math regarding the purchase point of the mattress topper vs the life expectancy of the same. This article will help you understand this key point so that you can plan your purchases accordingly.

What is a Mattress Topper?

In simple words, a mattress topper is a bedding accessory that is placed on top of the existing mattress. It is thin and is secured with the help of side elastic bands or even tie-up tassels. The primary function of a mattress topper is to give an extra layer of comfort and increase the shelf life of the mattress. It also with keeps the underlying mattress clean and stain-free.

A mattress topper comes in different forms and sizes to suit individual preferences. You can also choose from different materials including organic latex and hypoallergenic materials to give you the best possible comfort level. The market is flooded with add-on features in mattress toppers like a breathable surface that improves air circulation and extra padding to give you a sinking cloud-like experience. Mattress toppers are also popularly known as mattress pads or mattress protectors.

Why Do You Need a Mattress Topper?

A lot of people feel that a mattress topper is just a useless money-making hack employed by manufacturers for added sale with little to support its credit. It is generally not viewed as a good value-for-money option. However, there are some key benefits to having a mattress topper over your mattress. These are listed below:

  • Gives your mattress a better lifespan
  • Helps in making the bed cozier and plusher for a better comfort level
  • You can change the firmness level of your mattress with a mattress topper making it softer or firmer as you desire
  • It keeps the mattress stain-free and traps the dirt preventing it from seeping into the mattress
  • All mattress toppers can be machine washed which helps in maintaining bed hygiene

What is the Life Expectancy of a Mattress Topper?

The basic life span of a mattress topper depends on various factors ranging from its material composition, thickness level, and the quality of construction. All of these make it a little difficult to give an absolute figure for the life of the mattress topper. However, on an average a good quality mattress topper lasts anywhere between 3 to 5 years. A poorly constructed mattress topper will only last for a year or a maximum of two years. A lot of people think that since both the mattress and the mattress toppers are made from similar materials, they have similar life spans. Unfortunately, that is not true. A mattress topper lasts for a lower duration than the average mattress which boasts a good 7-to-10-year lifespan.

At the lower end of the spectrum, any mattress topper will give you at least 6 to 8 months before giving up. At best, a mattress topper can last as long as your mattress depending on the frequency of use and the construction quality. Good maintenance will add value to your mattress topper and help you prolong its lifetime. As a rule of thumb, a mattress topper with a 3 to 5 years lifetime is considered a good value-for-money option. So, you can go ahead and buy a mattress topper that comes with a 3-to-5-year warranty with an easy mind.

Factors That Determine the Lifespan of a Mattress Topper

Just like any other bedding accessory, certain factors determine how long the mattress topper will last. Knowing about these factors will help you get a good estimate of how long you can reasonably expect your mattress topper to last. This way you do not have to blindly trust the friendly salesman. These factors will also help you pick the best mattress topper of the lot that will not only suit your comfort needs but also give your mattress good resilience and added life.

  • Material Composition

The primary factor that determines the life of any mattress topper is the material that it is made up off. The quality of the material as well as the type of material used in the mattress topper construction governs its longevity. A mattress topper made with high-quality materials like wool or latex will last longer than one made with low-quality cotton. Also, a gel-infused mattress topper will last you anywhere between 10 to 15 years as opposed to a normal tufted topper that will only give you a maximum of 5 years.

  • Environmental Factors

The second most important factor that affects the life of a mattress topper is the elements that the mattress topper is exposed to. If you live in a place with a lot of dust and other particulate matters, your mattress topper will accumulate more dust and get dirty quickly. This will in turn mean that your mattress topper will undergo a lot more washes which will decrease its lifespan. Similarly, if you have pets, then the topper will be prone to allergens like pet dander which will affect its fibers and ultimately its lifespan.

  • Body Weight

The higher the weight that the mattress topper supports regularly the higher the duress that it experiences. The mattress topper will over time develop indentations and compressions in the frequently used areas which result in the wearing off the topper. The higher the weight the quicker these indentations will appear lowering the quality and the ultimately the life of the mattress topper.

  • Maintenance

Every household item’s lifespan directly depends upon the maintenance and upkeep of the item. If you care for the mattress topper well by keeping it clean and using it as directed by the manufacturer, then the lifespan of the topper automatically increases. Regular cleaning of your mattress topper will keep it in good working condition ensuring that you get the required comfort and support for an extended time.

  • Mattress Condition

Not many people understand this, but the overall condition of your mattress topper depends very heavily on the condition of your mattress on which it is placed. If your mattress is sagging with compressions, then this will cause your mattress topper to sag and develop indentations quickly. This is because ultimately it is the mattress that forms the base of the mattress topper. Hence if your mattress is old then the mattress topper will have a reduced lifespan as compared to another mattress topper.

  • The thickness of the Topper

The thicker the mattress topper the longer its lifespan will be. This is because the thickness will absorb the weight on the topper better than a thinner version keeping the lumpiness at bay.

How To Increase the Lifespan of a Mattress Topper?

Now that you understand the various factors that cause the wear and tear of the mattress topper you can easily improve the quality and lifespan of the mattress topper to give you an extra few years. Some of how you can improve the working condition of the topper are:

  • Good maintenance and care
  • The topper should be placed on a good firm mattress
  • Rotate the mattress topper and flip it upside down every two weeks for an even use
  • Compress the mattress topper for storage purposes
  • Use a protective cover and good-quality fitted sheets for your mattress topper

Final Thoughts On Mattress Topper Lifespans

The bottom line to how long your mattress topper will last depends upon a lot of factors including your personal sleep preferences. For some people, the mattress topper might last a good 7 to 10 years whereas for others it might only be good for a few years or even just one year.  A good mattress topper should last you between 3 to 5 years. Any topper that comes with a warranty of under 3 years should be avoided. Apart from this, you should keep in mind that any mattress topper can be made to last longer with proper care and maintenance.

Dozens of Options for Black Friday Sales 2022

There are many different brands and types of mattresses available when you shop online. In stores, you can get limited options to choose from. Moreover, they only display the costlier options or the ones that bring them more profit.

When you buy online, you can browse through tons of options at a different price range. So whatever be your budget, you can get an ideal choice as per your needs.

Sleep Trial

Almost every brand online offers a sleep trial that helps you test out the mattress in your home for at least 100 days. Some brands also offer a sleep trial of a year.

If you do not like the mattress, you can even return it for a refund. This is one of the important reasons why many people prefer buying a mattress online where they can get a sufficient sleep trial rather than lying for a few minutes. Studies have shown that people lying down on the mattress for some minutes ended up making the wrong decision.

Informed Decision

In the brick and mortar store, you believe what the salesman says, and the knowledge can be limited. Whereas on the web, you can find multiple resources that can help you know in detail about the mattress.

No Sales Pressure

At some mattress stores, the salesperson pushes the customer to buy a particular product because that brings them more profit. Have you experienced the same? This is why many people prefer buying a mattress online.

When to Start Looking for Black Friday Mattress Sales?

Even though there is still time for the Thanksgiving weekend, most retailers and third party sites have started advertising. Start knowing the deals as early as possible. This will help you plan well during the deal day.

It is wise to research the options on sale before buying about its quality and materials used. There are many kinds of mattresses with different coils, foams, and materials.

Where Can you Find Black Friday Mattress Deals?

There are many sources where you can find the Black Friday Mattress Deals like:

Ad Websites

There are many websites that feature and scan retailer offers like us. Having most of the deals in one place is convenient and also saves time.

Retailer Websites

Going directly to the retailer website is probably one of the best ways to find the deals on Black Friday. The only drawback is that they do not post their ads live until the deal day.

Newsletters

One of the best ways to know about the deal is by signing up for retailer’s email newsletters. This can be helpful to you if you have a brand in mind.

News and Newspapers

Print newspapers feature thanksgiving and Black Friday deals from major brands. Online news websites also cover the local offers and receive a press release with the deal information.

How to Get the Best Black Friday Mattress Deal?

Below are some tips that will help you make the most of the Black Friday Mattress Sale:

Well-reviewed Beddings

One of the best things about shopping online is that you can read all the reviews of people who have been happy and unsatisfied with their purchase. Our reviews help you know more about the mattress that helps you pick the right option.

Ignore Retail Price

Many retailers set the sticker price high so that the discounted rate seems a great deal. Thus, it is wise to ignore the retail sticker price because it is misleading.

Look for Free Shipping

A value-added offer you should look for is free shipping and delivery that many stores offer. Thus, this will help you save a lot of money, around $100. Some stores do not offer free shipping and thus it is wise to know about it before making a purchase.

Don’t Get Confused

There is lots of information out there. Rather than reading everything and getting confused, it is wise to look for a trusted source, like our page, that will help you filter the information.

You will be able to determine your needs and wants based on the answers you give for the above questions.

At-Home Sleep Study: Exclusive Benefits You Must Know!

At home Sleep Study

Did you know that sleep apnea is the most common sleep disorder? Sleep apnea is more likely to happen as you get older, and the CDC estimates that it affects about 25 million Americans. The condition can be challenging to diagnose, but luckily there are a few different options for those who think they might have it. If your primary care physician cannot determine whether or not you have sleep apnea, going home for an at-home sleep study may be the best option for you.

You’re probably wondering how accurate at-home sleep studies are if you’re thinking about getting one. Can you get the same results from a sleep study done in your bed as you would from a hospital?

The answer is yes—home sleep studies are just as accurate as hospital sleep studies, and in some cases, they can be even more precise. That’s because you’re more likely to sleep better in your bed, and strangers are not monitoring you.

There are some things to keep in mind, though. If you have sleep apnea, you should always talk to your doctor before starting a home sleep study. And if you have other medical conditions, some risks are associated with doing a home sleep study.

Overall, though, an at-home sleep study is a convenient, comfortable way to get the information you need to diagnose and treat sleep disorders.

What is an at-home sleep study?

An at-home sleep study is a test done in the patient’s home rather than in a sleep laboratory. The patient uses portable sleep equipment, which is often smaller and more comfortable than what is used in a sleep lab. Home sleep studies are becoming more common because they are just as effective as lab-based studies but much more convenient.

Someone might want to have an at-home sleep study for various reasons. Maybe they have trouble sleeping in a strange place or want to avoid the cost and hassle of going to a sleep lab. Whatever the reason, at-home sleep studies are an excellent option for many people.

There are two main types of at-home sleep studies: diagnostic studies and titration studies.

Diagnostic studies are used to diagnose sleep disorders like obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).

Titration studies are used to find the correct dose of CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) for people with OSA.

At-home sleep studies are usually done over one or two nights. The patient wears sensors on their body and uses a small machine to record their breathing, heart rate, and brain waves while they sleep. A sleep specialist then analyzes the data from the study to look for any signs of a sleep disorder.

If you think you might benefit from an at-home sleep study, talk to your doctor about whether it’s right for you.

Talk to Your Doctor About At-Home Sleep Tests.

If you think you may have obstructive sleep apnea, bring up the possibility of an at-home sleep test during your next doctor’s visit. Most primary care doctors refer people who might have sleep apnea to a qualified specialist (who determines what type of sleep testing is best for each patient).

How Many Times Can I Take an At-Home Sleep Apnea Test?

If you’re considering an at-home sleep apnea test, you may wonder how many times you can take the test. Several factors, including your health insurance coverage and doctor’s recommendation, determine the answer.

Health insurance coverage for at-home sleep apnea tests varies. Some insurance companies may cover the cost of the test once every two years, while others may only cover the price every five years. Give your insurance company a call to find out if they will cover the cost of an at-home sleep apnea test.

Your doctor may also recommend how often you should take an at-home sleep apnea test. If you have risk factors for sleep apnea, such as being overweight or having a family history of sleep apnea, your doctor may recommend that you take the test more often.

You can take an at-home sleep apnea test as often as your health insurance will cover it and as often as your doctor recommends it. If you have sleep apnea, taking the test more often than you need to won’t hurt you and will make sure you get the sleep apnea treatment you need.

What Sleep Disorders Can Home Tests Detect?

A variety of sleep disorders can be diagnosed with an at-home sleep study. The most common disorders include obstructive sleep apnea, restless legs syndrome, and insomnia.

During sleep, obstructive sleep apnea interrupts breathing. These can happen when the respiratory system gets blocked or when the muscles in the lungs are hard to control. Snoring, gasping for air while sleeping, and being tired during the day are all signs of obstructive sleep apnea.

Restless legs syndrome is a disorder that causes an irresistible urge to move the legs. This can be accompanied by a tingling or burning sensation in the legs. People with restless leg syndrome might find it difficult to fall and stay asleep.

Insomnia is a disorder characterized by difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep. Insomnia can be caused by stress, anxiety, medications, or other medical conditions. If you have insomnia, you might have trouble falling asleep, wake up often at night, and feel tired during the day.

Who Shouldn’t Take a Home Sleep Study?

An at-home sleep study is not suitable for everyone. Some people should not take a home sleep study. The following is a list of conditions in which it would not be appropriate for you to take a home sleep study:

  • You have been told by a doctor that you have sleep apnea
  • You have high blood pressure
  • You have heart disease

How Accurate Are Home Sleep Apnea Tests?

An at-home sleep apnea test is a convenient and effective screening for this common sleep disorder. But how accurate are these tests?

There are two main at-home sleep apnea tests: The oximetry test and the flow sensor test.

Oximetry tests measure your blood oxygen levels overnight and can be done with a simple finger sensor that you wear while you sleep.

Flow sensor tests measure your breathing patterns overnight and require you to wear a small device around your neck.

Both at-home sleep apnea tests are highly accurate in diagnosing sleep apnea. Studies have shown that both tests are just as precise as traditional polysomnography (PSG) tests conducted in a hospital setting.

If you think you might have sleep apnea, an at-home sleep test is a great place to start. These tests are quick and easy to do, and they can give you peace of mind knowing that you’re getting an accurate diagnosis.

What happens during an at-home sleep study?

An at-home sleep study is a test used to diagnose sleep disorders. It is usually done for one or two nights. The test is conducted in the comfort of your home, making it more convenient than going to a hospital for a sleep study.

During an at-home sleep study, you will be asked to wear sensors that measure your body movements, heart rate, and breathing. You will also be asked to keep a sleep diary. The sensors and sleep diary will help your doctor determine if you have a sleep disorder.

What are the benefits of an at-home sleep study?

An at-home sleep study is a convenient, comfortable option for people who need to be assessed for sleep disorders. An at-home sleep study offers several benefits, which include the following:

  1. You can sleep in your bed. This means you’ll be more comfortable and likely to get a good night’s sleep, which is essential for an accurate sleep study.
  2. You’re in familiar surroundings. This can help you relax and feel more comfortable during the study, improving the results’ accuracy.
  3. It’s less disruptive to your life. You don’t need to take time off work or arrange childcare, and there’s no need to travel to a hospital or sleep clinic.
  4. It’s often more affordable than a hospital-based sleep study.

Pros and Cons of an at-home sleep study?

When deciding whether to do an at-home sleep study, it is crucial to consider its pros and cons. Some pros may include sleeping in your bed or familiar surroundings, which is often more affordable than a hospital-based sleep study. Some cons to an at-home sleep study include that you may not have the same level of supervision as you would in a hospital and that the sensors can be uncomfortable. In the end, you should consult your doctor before doing an at-home sleep study.

What do you need for an at-home sleep study?

You will need a few things for an at-home sleep study. Most importantly, you will need a comfortable place to sleep. This may be your bed, or if you are uncomfortable sleeping, you may consider renting a hospital bed. You will also need a quiet, dark room with comfortable sheets and blankets. You will also require monitoring equipment, which you can rent from a sleep center or doctor. The kit usually includes sensors that attach to your body and monitor your breathing, heart rate, and brain waves during sleep.

How do you prepare for an at-home sleep study?

It would be best if you did a few things to prepare for an at-home sleep study. Most importantly,

  1. Finding a comfortable place to sleep would be best. This could be your bed, or you may need to rent a hospital bed. You will also need a dark, quiet room and comfortable sheets and blankets. In addition, you will need to rent some monitoring equipment from a sleep center or sleep doctor. This equipment usually includes sensors that attach to your body and monitor your vital signs during sleep.

You will also need to keep a sleep diary for at least two weeks before the study. This diary will help the sleep doctor assess your symptoms and see whether or not you suffer from sleep problems. The diary should include information such as how many hours of sleep you get each night, what time you go to bed and wake up, and how many times you wake up during the night.

  1. It is also important to avoid caffeine and alcohol before the study. Caffeine can interfere with sleep and make it difficult to fall asleep. Alcohol can make it easier to fall asleep but can also cause disruptions in breathing during sleep.

Before the study, you should check with your doctor if you take any medications that could affect sleep, such as sedatives or stimulants. These medications may need to be tapered off or stopped entirely for the study to be accurate.

  1. Make sure the room is dark and relaxed so you can comfortably fall asleep. Consider using an eye mask or earplugs if needed.
  2. Follow the instructions provided by the company conducting the study carefully. This will ensure accurate results and minimize any discomfort during the test.
  3. Have someone else stay in the house with you during the study so they can help with any technical issues that may arise overnight.
  4. Relax and try to get a good night’s sleep! The most important part of an at-home sleep study is getting enough rest so that the results are accurate.

How to interpret the results of an at-home sleep study?

After completing your at-home sleep study, it is crucial to interpret the results to receive an accurate diagnosis of your sleep disorder. The first step is to review your sleep diary during the study. This will help your doctor determine if you had difficulty sleeping during the study. Next, your doctor will check the sensors you wore during the study. These sensors will measure your body movements, heart rate, and breathing. Based on these measurements, your doctor can determine if you have a sleep disorder.

What are the next steps after an at-home sleep study?

After an at-home sleep study, the following steps will depend on the diagnosis of your sleep disorder. If you have a sleep disorder, your doctor will likely prescribe treatment. The most common treatments for sleep disorders are lifestyle changes, such as changing your sleep habits or avoiding caffeine before bedtime. Your doctor may also prescribe medication to help you fall and stay asleep. If your doctor doesn’t treat you, they may send you to a sleep specialist for more testing.

Are there any risks associated with an at-home sleep study?

An at-home sleep study is a generally safe procedure with few risks. The most common chances are False Positives and False Negatives.

A false positive is when the sleep study results show a person has a sleep disorder when they do not. A false positive can occur if the sensors are not placed correctly on the body or if the person moves around a lot during the night.

A false negative is when the sleep study results show that a person does not have a sleep disorder when they do. This can happen if the person has no major sleep disorders or if the sensors do not pick up on any subtle changes in the body.

Other risks of an at-home sleep study are that the sensors could irritate the skin, make sleeping uncomfortable, or make it hard to keep track of all the data.

Overall, an at-home sleep study is a safe and convenient way to diagnose sleep disorders.

Conclusion

If you have signs of sleep apnea but your doctor can’t tell for sure if you have it, a sleep study might be the best thing to do. An at-home sleep study is the most convenient option, but it may not be as accurate as an in-lab sleep study. Following your doctor’s instructions is essential to getting the treatment you need if you’ve been diagnosed with sleep apnea.

Spine Align Mattress: Must-Have for Effortless Sleep Comfort

Spine Align is a company founded by Dr. Jason Loth, a sports chiropractor with over 17 years of experience. With his background, he developed a unique pillow called the Spine Align Pillow which provides optimal spine support for any sleeping position. Recently, Spine Align launched 3 new mattresses all made in the USA. I received the 13.5″ Deep Sleep Hybrid Mattress free for review which is the plushest of the 3 offerings.

Overview of the Spine Align Mattress

Although this mattress is over 13 inches deep and has a spring system, it still comes roll-packed in a box and will ship to your door. Here’s a picture of it taken out of the box but still in the packaging.

As you can imagine it takes a lot of force to compress and wrap this mattress. Once you open it though, it comes to life quickly. You can hear air being sucked into the mattress as you cut through the plastic. Here’s what it looks like after opening.

Here’s a video overview of the mattress and what sets it apart. As you can see it is a thick mattress with layers of high quality material throughout.

How Much Does the Spine Align Mattress Cost?

Construction of the Deep Sleep Hybrid

Below are the construction details of the mattress as listed on their website. This mattress is somewhat similar in construction to other hybrids on the market but what sets it apart is that the top layers are more responsive and breathable while still giving you a cozy feeling.

spine align construction

1.5″ OF ARCTICPHASE™ GEL-INFUSED FOAM

Gives you both the soft comfort and the responsive support you’re looking for which is where most memory foams fail. This amazing hyper-elastic foam also promotes cooling because nobody wants to sleep hot, and has antibacterial properties for a more comfortable and healthy sleeping environment.

1.5″ OF SERENE™ FOAM

We chose this unique foam because it actually gives greater support, has greater cooling properties, and relieves pressure points more effectively than traditional memory foam. In other words, Serene™ foam helps to cradle and comfort your body to give you exceptional support that’s needed for correct spinal alignment.

1.5″ OF PRIMETRA™ FOAM

Our PrimeTRA™ foam acts as a transitional layer of high-density foam, providing greater strength and durability to our individually pocketed coil system.

8″ OF  MAX ENGINEERED POCKETED COILS

For added support. We have included a full 8 inches of individually pocketed coils, increasing responsiveness to movement while isolating your movement to minimize sleep disturbance. You also get the added benefit of greater edge support that many mattresses don’t offer.

1″ OF HD SUPPORTIVE BASE FOAM

Long-lasting and durable compacted foam, giving the mattress a solid and durable foundation.

My Spine Align Mattress Findings

The 13.5″ Deep Sleep model is the plushest of the 3 mattress offerings from Spine Align. Here’s a picture of my 14 lb. bowling ball sinking into the mattress. It has a pillow top feel without actually having a pillow top.

Spine Align Sinkage
Here’s a view from the side to contouring and hug. The spring system provides good edge support so you won’t feel like rolling off the side.

Spine Align Contouring

This video demonstrates motion transfer on the mattress. Aside from the pocket coil system, the top layer of serene foam provides a little extra bounce which basically makes this mattress feel like a traditional mattress even though there are layers of foam.

This mattress has extra details such as handles on two sides to make rotating or transporting the mattress super easy.

My Spine Align Deep Sleep Recommendation

The Spine Align Deep Sleep Hybrid is an excellent choice for side sleepers looking for superior contouring without getting too hot. Spine Align incorporates next-gen foams are more breathable and resilient. This mattress was developed with the expertise of a chiropractor that understands the importance of spinal alignment and I think he nailed it with this mattress. For side sleepers, it hits the mark where I didn’t feel like my hips sank too much but my shoulders weren’t sore either.

Like most online mattress brands, this mattress comes with a 100 night trial with a free return so there’s certainly no risk in trying.

Benefits of a Silk Comforter

Before we get into the Nest silk comforter review, let’s go over the biggest benefits of a silk comforter. If you have never owned a silk comforter, you are in for a totally different sleep experience. Here’s a few things you can expect.

  1. Silk Comforters drape your body closely and eliminate any air gaps giving you a more consistent temperature across your body and throughout the night.
  2. Silk comforters are better than cotton, wool and even down at regulating temperature, you won’t get too hot or too cold meaning you will stay asleep longer and less prone to changing positions at night.
  3. Silk comforters are thinner than a typical down comforter which means they are lighter but work better than a down comforter.
  4. You can use a silk comforter in a warm or cold environment. Either way they will feel great.
  5. It’s hard to beat a silk comforter when it comes to durability. This could easily be the last comforter you ever buy if you take care of it.

The Nest Silk Cloud Comforter

Nest Silk Cloud Comforter

I recently received a silk comforter from Nest Bedding for review.  Let’s just start out by saying you can go crazy with silk. Frette sells their Villa Silk Duvet Filler for $3,100 in a king, and I’m sure it’s amazing but you don’t need to break the bank to get the benefits of silk. The Nest silk comforter sells for $499 in a king/cal king.

Even if you have a queen size bed, I recommend going with the king size since it will cover more of your bed and you won’t have to fight your partner for bedding at night.

When you order through Nest, you package will arrive in a nondescript box and inside it will be wrapped in plastic.

Nest Silk Comforter Packaging

The comforter itself is also wrapped in plastic just in your package gets wet al0ng the way. You also get a nice cloth bag to store the comforter when not in use.

Nest Comforter

Once opened you can start using it right away, there’s not harmful smells and it feels great right out of the box. I do recommend a duvet cover to keep it clean though. I recommend a bamboo or Tencel duvet and sheet set to further help regulate temperature and keep you cool.

As you can see, this duvet is fairly thin compared to

Most other silk comforters sold online have a minimal amount of filling, but not ours. Our Mulberry silk comforter fill amount is 200gsm/ 2.0 Kg. We found after extensive research and testing, that 200gsm is the perfect fill amount to make this comforter best for all seasons. Dozeology Weighted Blanket: Stunning Comfort for Better Sleep

dozeology review

Overview of the 7lb Dozeology Weighted Blanket for Kids (or Small Adults!)

Dozeology has joined the trend of Weighted Blankets and for good reason. Weighted Blankets are known for their ability to reduce stress, ease anxiety, and deepen sleep by essentially helping the mind and body relax. This is possible through something called deep pressure touch stimulation. This isn’t a gimmick either. Weighted blankets affect hormones in your body that produce these feelings of relaxation and it could be exactly what you need to improve the quality of your sleep. As you use the blanket regularly, you’ll find that you also have improved mood, focus and concentration. Is there a specific hormone you should know that about? Yes, it’s called Oxytocin. Some have referred to it as “the love hormone,” but it’s not entirely correct. “Bonding hormone” is a bit more accurate. Oxytocin is released when you make love or even when you hug, which is why it’s been given these names. Because weighted blankets can mimic the feeling of a hug, our bodies respond similarly.

  • The filling of the blanket itself is an environmentally friendly non-glue polyester padding and is stuffed with hypo-allergenic, non-toxic, odorless glass beads.
  • Innovative diamond stitched pattern ensures that inner beads don’t leak

My Findings and Recommendation of the 7lb Dozeology Weighted Blanket for Kids

I’ve tried and reviewed plenty of weighted blankets and Dozeology’s is my favorite. I love that they offer a weight that no one else does. A 7lb weighted blanket is uncommon and nice for those who aren’t sure if the concept suits them. It’s great for kids, a teen or an individual in case your partner doesn’t care for the additional bedding. It’s small enough to move around easily and Dozeology’s weighted blanket filling is awesome. It’s finer so when you move it isn’t noisy, the movement is subtle. Weighted blankets have evolved. What is it that drives me even more crazy (in a really good way)? Not only are there duvet loops in the corners but also in the center parts, meaning 8 duvet loops total. Wow, they’ve spoiled us. If you own duvet covers, you know the pain of blankets shifting and having enough duvet loops and duvet ties makes all the difference.

King Bed: Best Choice for Effortless Sleep Comfort

King vs California King 1

A lot of people are confused about bed sizes, which is why I am here to tell you what the difference between a king and a California King actually is.

This will help keep you from getting ripped off at the store when buying your next mattress!

2. King vs California King: Dimensions

A king size bed is 76 x 80 inches, while a California king bed is 72 x 84 inches The dimensions of a queen and king bed are the same, but the queen is a little shorter than the king. The dimensions of a California king bed being 4 inches narrower and 4 inches longer than a standard eastern king mattress.

3. King vs California King: Mattress

  • The king bed is bigger than the California king bed.
  • The king bed can have the same height as a California king bed.

4. King vs California King: Bedroom

The king and California king beds differ in size and shape. The king has a square shape, while the California king is more rectangular. A king bed is larger and has a different shape than a California king bed. A king bed is usually the same price as a California King bed.

5. King vs California King: Sleep

A California king bed is longer and narrower than a king size bed. This makes it ideal for people who are over 6 feet tall, as they will have enough space to sleep comfortably. However, it is not suitable for more than two people. The adequate width allows enough space for parents and children to sleep together on the same bed. If you or your significant other are over 6’4″, a California king bed would be a better option, as the extra four inches of space would be beneficial.

6. King vs California King: Room

If you are taller than 6’4″, a California king bed is the best option for you. The dimensions of a king and a California king bed differ depending on your height. The extra four inches that a California king bed offers will give you the space you need for a comfortable night’s sleep.

7. King vs California King: Master Bedroom

  • A king size mattress is a luxurious option for a large master bedroom.
  • California king size mattresses are best for bedrooms that are 12 by 12 feet or 14 by 14 feet.
  • California kings are an excellent option for tall sleepers and come in at 4 inches longer than a standard king size bed.

8. King vs California King: Sleeping Environment

A California king bed is narrower and longer than a regular king bed, but it offers the same level of motion isolation. If you’re looking for more space, a king bed is the better option. If you have a memory foam mattress, it will reduce motion transfer between sleepers.

9. King vs California King: Guest Room

The king bed is wider than the California king bed. The California king bed is better for rooms that are longer rather than wider. The King mattress is perfect for guest rooms and master bedrooms, but it won’t fit in rooms that are too narrow. Get the dimensions of your bedroom before choosing a mattress.

10. King vs California King: Sleep Trial

The sleep trial is the best way to test out a new bed. You can try it for a few nights and see if it’s comfortable for you. If you’re not happy with it, you can return it. This is the best way to make sure you’re getting the bed that’s right for you.

King vs California King: Mattress Foundation

A mattress foundation is a support system for a mattress, typically consisting of a frame, box spring, or platform. It helps to keep the mattress level and provides stability and structure. The foundation also affects the size of the bed. A California king mattress is narrower than a standard king mattress and has more length due to its smaller foundation.

16. King vs California King: Bedding

  • King size bedding is the most common while it can be harder to find California King bedding.
  • – King Size Mattress: 76×80 inches (6080 square inches)
  • Will king sheets fit California king bed? No, they won’t be long enough to fit on a regular king so make sure you choose wisely.
  • What is the Difference between king and California king Sheets? What are the California king sheet dimensions? Basically the same as the dimensions of a King and California King mattress.
  • CalKing size usually includes 4-Piece: One Cal-King Flat Sheet 110 inches wide X 102 inches long, One Calking Fitted Sheet 72 inches wide X 84 inches long and Two King Pillowcases 20 inch wide X 40 inch long each
  • The pillowcases of king and California king beds are the same size (20″W x 40″L).
  • specialized fitted sheets that can fit mattresses between 10-18 inches deep are ideal.

The difference in size between a king and California king can be confusing, but now you know the difference!

  •

20. King vs California King: Price

  • california king mattress will largely depend on the brand you’re buying from. However, they’re usually around the same price point. It’s also important to factor in the accessories you will need.
  • The California king has risen in popularity, but it’s still not as common as the King. Therefore it can be slightly harder to find the correct bed frames, box springs, mattress protectors and sheets for the mattress size. This can result in it being more expensive.
  • The King-sized mattress is a lot easier to find and buy, which means you will be able to find a variety of price points to compare and consider
  • Specialized fitted sheets that can fit mattresses between 10-18 inches deep are available in both king and California king sizes.
  • A fitted sheet that will not rip, with deep pockets that will not pop off, is available in both king and California king sizes.
  • High durability, sheets that last longer than standard sheets, are available in both king and California king sizes.
  •

How do you choose the right size bed for you?

Step 1: Determine the dimensions of the room.

To ensure a comfortable fit, the room size should be a minimum of 10 x 12 feet. If the room size is not large enough for a California king or standard king mattress, a queen size mattress may be a better option. A queen size bed still offers plenty of sleeping space but takes up less floor space than larger mattresses. Before purchasing a bigger bed, take accurate measurements of your bedroom to avoid making it feel cramped.

Step 2: Consider the type of mattress you want.

When selecting a mattress, you’ll want to consider your sleeping position, as well as the firmness and construction of the mattress. There are different types of mattresses designed for specific sleeping positions. If you have back pain, you’ll want a mattress that is medium-firm or firm.

Step 3: Think about who will be using the bed.

The size of your bed should be based on the size of your room and who will be using the bed. If you have a small room, you may want to consider a twin or full size bed. If you have a large room, you may want to consider a queen or king size bed. If you are buying a bed for yourself, make sure to measure yourself and your sleeping space before making a purchase. If you are buying a bed for someone else, make sure to take into consideration their height, width, and weight when choosing a size.

Step 4: Choose a size that fits your budget.

If you have a tight budget, you may want to consider financing a new mattress. This will allow you to sleep better now, but pay over time. When choosing a size, it is important to consider your room size and how much space you’ll have to move around. It is also recommended to leave about two feet of space on either side of the mattress. Upgrading to a larger bed may require upgrading your bed frame and replacing your sheets and blankets. If you’re looking for the biggest bed available, be prepared to spend more money on accessories.

Step 5: Consider your furniture.

In order to measure for bed size and furniture placement, you will need a measuring tape. First, check how much space the mattress would take up in your bedroom. It is important to get the right size bed frame. Make sure to also measure the route into your bedroom, so you know if the bed will fit through doorways and hallways. Once you have all of your measurements, choose a comfortable mattress that fits your space.

Step 6: Don’t forget about the door!

1. First, you need to measure the doorways in your home to make sure the bed will fit through them.

2. It is also important to measure the bed against the room’s existing furniture and dĂ©cor.

3. To make an oversized bed look like it was made properly, use high quality linens.

4. To measure for a bed, try a step stool. Keep your blankets tucked in while you sleep to make mornings easier.

What are the benefits of sleeping on your side?

1. Sleeping on your side can help reduce snoring.

Sleeping on your side can reduce snoring. When you sleep on your back, your tongue and soft palate can fall back into your throat and block your airway. This can cause snoring. Sleeping on your side keeps your tongue and soft palate from falling back into your throat and blocking your airway.

2. Sleeping on your side can help reduce sleep apnea.

Sleeping on your side is the most popular sleeping position in the US for many good reasons. One reason is that it can help reduce sleep apnea. Back sleepers are more likely to snore, while side sleepers are less likely to do so. This is because when you sleep on your back, gravity causes your tongue and soft palate to collapse and block your airway. Sleeping on your side keeps your tongue and soft palate from collapsing and blocking your airway, so you’re less likely to snore.

Pregnant women will often feel more comfortable on their side than in other positions. Sleeping on your side can help reduce sleep apnea and also acid reflux. When you sleep on your left side, gravity helps keep stomach acids where they belong—in your stomach. If you suffer from GERD, sleeping on your left side may help relieve some of your symptoms.

Side sleepers need a supportive mattress and pillow to get the most out of sleeping on their side and avoid pain in their neck, shoulders, hips, or back. There are different types of side sleepers (elevated leg, fetal, log), and each needs a specific type of pillow to support their neck (a thin pillow for elevated leg; a medium-firm pillow for fetal; and a thick, firm pillow for log).

3. Sleeping on your side can help reduce GERD symptoms.

Sleeping on your side can help reduce GERD symptoms. This is because sleeping on your side allows gravity to work in your favor and keep stomach acid from flowing back up into your esophagus. Additionally, sleeping on your side can improve joint pain, digestion, and back pain.

  • Sleeping on your side can help reduce GERD symptoms.
  • Sleeping on your side can help reduce acid reflux.
  • Sleeping on your side can improve joint pain, digestion, and back pain.
  • : Sleeping on your side can help reduce GERD symptoms.

4. Sleeping on your side can help reduce back pain.

Sleeping on your side can help reduce back pain for a few reasons. First, it takes the pressure off of your spine. When you sleep on your back, your spine is straight, which can put strain on the muscles and joints. Sleeping on your side allows your spine to rest in a more natural position. Second, sleeping on your side can improve the alignment of your hips and shoulders, which can also reduce back pain. Lastly, sleeping on your side allows gravity to work in your favor by pulling your stomach contents downward, away from your spine. This can help reduce pressure on the nerves in your back and improve digestion.

5. Sleeping on your side can help reduce headaches.

Sleeping on your side is a great way to reduce headaches and back pain. When you sleep on your stomach, your head is turned to the side and this can cause tension headaches. Sleeping on your side relieves this pressure and can help prevent headaches. In addition, sleeping on your side can improve joint pain and digestion.

6. Sleeping on your side can help reduce joint pain.

Sleeping on your side can help reduce joint pain for a few reasons. First, it takes pressure off of the joints. When you sleep on your side, your body is supported by the mattress, so there is less pressure on the joints. Second, sleeping on your side can improve digestion. When you sleep on your stomach, your digestive system can be squished, which can lead to indigestion or heartburn. Sleeping on your side keeps everything in its proper place so that you can wake up feeling refreshed and without pain. Finally, a good mattress is crucial for side sleepers. A softer mattress will contour to your body and provide support where you need it most. This will help reduce any pain in the hips or shoulders that may be caused by sleeping on a harder surface.

7. Sleeping on your side can help reduce acid reflux.

Sleeping on your side can help reduce acid reflux and back pain. This is because sleeping on your side keeps your head and stomach at the same level, which helps prevent stomach acid from leaking into your esophagus. Sleeping on your side is the most popular sleeping position in the U.S., so you’re likely to find plenty of supportive mattresses and pillows designed specifically for side sleepers.

8. Sleeping on your side can help reduce wrinkles.

Sleeping on your side is not only good for your joints and digestion, but it can also help reduce wrinkles. When you sleep on your back, gravity pulls your skin down, which can lead to wrinkles. But when you sleep on your side, your skin is supported and less likely to wrinkle. So if you want to help keep your skin looking its best, try sleeping on your side.

9. Sleeping on your side can help reduce cellulite.

Sleeping on your side can help reduce cellulite by improving circulation and lymphatic drainage. This can help to break down fat deposits and prevent them from reforming. Sleeping on your side can also decrease acid reflux and back pain.

10. Sleeping on your side can help reduce stress.

Sleeping on your side can help reduce stress by keeping your back pain and acid reflux. Lying in this position also helps keep your airway open, reducing the risk of snoring or sleep apnea. Side-sleeping is one of the best sleeping positions for numerous health reasons.

There are many benefits of sleeping on your side. Side sleepers tend to experience less back pain and neck pain than those who sleep on their stomach or back. Additionally, side sleeping can help reduce snoring and alleviate symptoms of acid reflux. When pregnant, side sleeping can also help improve circulation and prevent the baby from pressing on the mother’s spine.

How do you choose a pillow for side sleepers?

Step 1: Determine what type of sleeper you are.

There are three main types of sleepers: back, stomach, and side. Each type of sleeper requires a different type of pillow for optimal comfort.

Back sleepers need a pillow that is firm and provides support for the neck. A pillow that is too soft will cause the head to sink down and put strain on the neck.

Stomach sleepers need a thin pillow or no pillow at all. This allows the head to rest in alignment with the spine without putting strain on the neck.

Side sleepers need a medium-firm pillow that fills the space between the ear and shoulder when lying down. This provides support for the head and neck while keeping them in alignment.

Step 2: Consider your sleeping position.

Sleeping on your side affects the position of your head, and this affects the type of pillow you should choose.

People who sleep on their side need a pillow that supports their neck and spine. The best pillows for side sleepers are those that conform to the shape of the sleeper’s head and provide support for the neck.

Step 3: Find a pillow that is the right size for you.

To find a pillow that is the right size for side sleepers, you’ll need to consider the different types of pillows available and your own sleeping habits. Standard pillows are the most compact and the least expensive on average, but they may be too small for some side sleepers. Queen-sized pillows are 4 inches longer than standard pillows and should provide more room for people who toss and turn or use the entire surface of their pillow. King size pillows are also common and offer plenty of room for side sleepers. Finally, body pillows are at least 4 feet wide and can be a good option for pregnant women or people who like to cuddle up with a pillow.

Step 4: Choose a pillow that is comfortable for you.

The best pillow for side sleepers is one that is soft, comfortable and supportive. A pillow with a high thread count and a soft weave is ideal for side sleepers.

Step 5: Consider the materials of the pillow.

The best materials for side sleepers are those that are soft and easily conform to the shape of the head and neck. The pillow should also have a removable and machine-washable cover.

Step 6: Choose a pillow with the right firmness for you.

Choosing a pillow with the right firmness for side sleepers is important in order to get a good night’s sleep. There are a few different types of pillow materials, each with their own benefits and drawbacks. It is important to choose the right type of material for the type of sleeper you are. Side sleepers may want a pillow that is warm, bouncy, and moldable.

Step 7: Consider the fill of the pillow.

The type of pillow filling that is best for side sleepers depends on the firmness of the mattress. For softer mattresses, a thicker pillow is needed to fill the gap between the head and the mattress. Down pillows are the best option for side sleepers because they keep the head and neck cooler. Memory foam pillows are also a good option for side sleepers because they contour to the head and support the neck.

Step 8: Choose a pillow with the right support for you.

It is important for side sleepers to find a pillow with the right support in order to prevent neck and spine pain. The pillow should be firm and comfortable, and it should conform to the sleeper’s head and neck shape. The best way to find a pillow with the right support is to test it before buying it.

Shoulder Cutout Malouf Shoulder Cutout Pillow

The Malouf shoulder cutout pillow is by far my favorite pillow for side sleeping. The notch for your shoulder keeps you from having to bunch up your pillow and then losing support. It also sleeps incredibly cool with a large amount of phase change material on one side and a tencel cover that is washable so you don’t even need a pillowcase.

Best of all is the premium foam. It’s very squishy and soft but still has great support and won’t lose support as the night goes on. My neck has never felt better.

How do you choose a mattress protector?

Step 1: Consider your needs

When choosing a mattress protector, you’ll want to consider the type of protector and the material it’s made from. Waterproof mattress protectors are a good choice if you want extra protection against liquids. It’s also important to clean the mattress regularly to prevent any build-up of urine.

Step 2: Decide on the type of mattress protector you need

There are two main types of mattress protectors: waterproof and water-resistant.

Waterproof mattress protectors are ideal for people who tend to drink or eat in bed, as they will prevent any spills from penetrating the mattress. They are also good for people with allergies, as they will create a barrier against dust mites and other allergens. Full encasements are the best type of waterproof protector for memory foam mattresses, but they can be difficult to sleep on.

Water-resistant mattress protectors are less effective than waterproof protectors at preventing spills from penetrating the mattress, but they are still good at repelling dust mites and other allergens. They are also easier to sleep on than full encasements.

Step 3: Choose the right size

To find the right size mattress protector for your bed, you will need to measure the depth of your mattress. Make sure to find a mattress protector that fits snugly to your mattress and pay attention to the depth of the protector. To protect a plush mattress or use an additional topper, you will need a mattress protector that fits deep mattresses.

Step 4: Choose the right material

Different types of mattress protector materials include bamboo, cotton, down, polyester, and vinyl. Each material has its own unique benefits.

Bamboo is a breathable and moisture-wicking material that has antimicrobial properties. It is also hypoallergenic and perfect for those who want a comfortable bed.

Cotton is a popular mattress protector material because it’s lightweight, durable, and easy to maintain. It is also one of the most comfortable mattress protector materials because it’s breathable and moisture-wicking.

Down is a very soft and squishy material that is perfect for those who want a comfortable bed. However, it can be breathable but may not be ideal for hot sleepers.

Polyester is a synthetic material that is often touted as an alternative to cotton. It is budget-friendly and just as breathable and moisture-wicking as cotton. However, it is not as soft or comfortable as other materials. Vinylis toughand provides good liquid protection but can be noisy when you move around on the bed and doesn’t breathe well so isn’t recommended for hot sleepers.. Microfiber beddingis an upgraded form of polyester that offers better moisture wickingand breathability than traditional polyester.

Step 5: Consider the price

When choosing a mattress protector, it is important to compare prices. The Saatva Waterproof Mattress Protector is on the expensive side, with the twin size starting at almost $100. However, this price includes free shipping and a money-back satisfaction guarantee.

Step 6: Read the reviews

When reading mattress protector reviews, look for those that mention the type of protector being reviewed, whether it worked as advertised, and whether it was easy to apply and fit correctly. Also look for reviews that discuss the product in detail, including its pros and cons. Pay attention to how the reviewer feels about the product, and whether they would recommend it to a friend.

Step 7: Choose the right brand

There are many mattress protector brands available on the market, so it is important to do your research before choosing one. GearLab tested 10 different mattress protectors and ranked them based on 4 metrics: protection, comfort, ease of cleaning, and usability.

The best way to choose a mattress protector is to read reviews and compare the brands. It is important to find a brand that offers good protection from dirt, dust, and allergens. Comfort is also an important factor to consider when choosing a mattress protector. Some brands are easier to clean than others, so be sure to read the reviews carefully before making your final decision.

Step 8: Compare the features

The first factor to consider when choosing a mattress protector is protection. How well does the protector guard against spills and stains? Is it waterproof or water-resistant? What kind of warranty does it come with?

Comfort is another important consideration. Some protectors can make your bed feel hotter or more uncomfortable. Others may be noisier than you’d like. Read reviews to see what others say about the comfort level of a particular model.

Ease of cleaning is another key factor. Some mattress protectors can be washed in your regular laundry, while others require special care. Be sure to read the instructions carefully before purchasing to make sure you’re comfortable with the cleaning requirements.

Finally, consider usability. How easy is it to put on and take off the protector? Does it fit snugly on your mattress, or is there a lot of extra material? Will it stay in place during use, or do you need to readjust it often?

  • In this step, we’ll compare the features of each model so that you can make an informed decision.
  • Each mattress protector was rated based on four important metrics: protection, comfort, ease of cleaning, and usability.
  • By comparing these factors, you’ll be able to choose the protector that’s best for your needs.
  • Finally, we offer a full money-back guarantee if you’re not satisfied with our selection. So don’t wait any longer – start shopping today and protect your bed safely and comfortably!

Step 9: Conclusion

When choosing a mattress protector, you will want to consider the following:

-The size of the mattress protector should fit the size of your mattress.

-The material of the mattress protector should be breathable and comfortable.

-The mattress protector should be easy to clean.

The SafeRest mattress protector can be washed at 95 degrees Fahrenheit or hot (200 ÂşF) for sanitization. Tumble drying is recommended on low to help the protector last longer. Mattress protectors don’t need to be washed as frequently as sheets. Protectors should be machine-washed and dried, but it’s preferable to let them air-dry if you don’t have spills or leaks. Always dry your mattress protector on low heat to prevent it from becoming damaged. Protectors come with a warranty, but if you don’t follow the instructions it will be void.

What is the average lifespan of a mattress protector?

A mattress protector typically needs to be replaced every 5 years, although lower quality protectors may only last 1-2 years. A well-cared-for protector should last at least one to two years. If the protector shows signs of wear or tear, it should be replaced before it becomes a tear or hole.

To clean a mattress protector, wash it every two months in warm water with a mild detergent. If you have allergies, you may need to wash it more often.

What are the most common problems with mattress protectors?

Some of the most common problems people have with mattress protectors are that they can be noisy, they might not take preventative measures against spills and accidents, and they can be difficult to remove and wash. However, mattress protectors offer many benefits, such as protecting the bed from allergens and dirt, and making it easier to keep a clean and fresh sleep surface. When selecting a mattress protector, it is important to consider what features are most important to you.

How do you troubleshoot mattress protector problems?

To troubleshoot mattress protector problems, you should use the protectors on your own bed and wash them in the machine. To test waterproofing, pour a drop of water on the fabric and see how it reacts. The mattress protectors did not improve comfort or dissipate heat well. To test comfort, use a laser thermometer to compare the temperatures before lying on the protector, after lying on it for at least an hour, and two minutes after getting up. Also sleep on each protector with a fitted sheet in place to see how well it fit. To test mattress protector leaks, place a sheet of paper towel beneath the protector and pour blue water on top. Check for leaks after two hours by pouring water on the paper towel and weighting it down. Washing and drying the mattress protector five times may be necessary to kill any bed bugs or dust mites. Fit is important when trying on a mattress protector. Noise can be a problem with some mattress protectors. Protectors should be washed and dried at least five times to ensure they are fit for the intended use. The sound of a mattress protector can be disruptive to sleep so to test noise levels of different mattress protectors, compare them head-to-head and use a long trial period. A long trial is the most reliable way to know if a mattress protector is comfortable and the trial period should be at least 30 nights. The warranty length should be at least 5 years.

Difference between Mattress Topper and Mattress Pads

There a lot of confusion regarding mattress toppers and mattress pads or protectors. Mattress pads are a thin layer that is used for protecting the mattress from dust, moisture, and stains. Mattress pads are not used for cushioning and added support. This thin layer of material might provide a little extra cushioning, but unlike mattress toppers, mattress pads are not used for that purpose.

Mattress toppers, on the other hand, are not meant for protecting the mattress but are used for added support and better comfort.

A mattress topper is a thick piece of foam or pillow-top material that goes underneath your mattress pad or protector. A mattress pad is made from more plush materials and is used to make your bed feel more cozy. A mattress topper is often confused with a mattress protector and is used to increase the firmness, thickness or feel of your mattress. A mattress pad is a thin material that is attached to straps or a fitted sheet. A mattress protector is a thinner, designed to protect a mattress from spills and contaminants. A mattress topper is a thicker, extra-soft material that’s usually added to a mattress. Mattress protectors come in different shapes and sizes, with different features. You can choose a protector that meets your specific needs. You may not need a mattress pad or mattress protector if you have a bed that is at least 18 inches thick. If you have a bed that is less than 18 inches thick, you may need

  1. Mattress toppers are generally more thick and supportive than a mattress pad, and mattress pads often use cotton or more plush materials to soften up a bed.
  2. A mattress topper is a thick piece of foam or pillow-top material that goes underneath your mattress pad or protector.
  3. A mattress protector doesn’t include padding. It’s used to protect a mattress from spilled liquids and contaminants like allergens, bed bugs, and dust mites.
  4. Mattress Toppers are designed to protect a mattress from accidental spills, whereas Mattress Pads are not.
  5. Mattress Toppers are machine washable and come with a lifetime warranty, while Mattresses Pads typically do not.
  6. Mattress Toppers can be used on any type of bed, while Mattresses Pads typically only work with certain types of mattresses.
  7. Mattress Topper is a thin, cushion-like product that is placed on top of your existing mattress and is designed to protect it from spills and stains.
  8. Mattress Pads are thicker pieces of fabric or foam that are placed on either side of your bed and are designed to act as a shock absorber, keep the bed frame stable during sleep, and prevent noise from traveling up through the bedding.
  9. Mattress Pads should be replaced every 6 to 12 months, depending on frequency of use, whereas Mattress Toppers can last up to 2 years.

Types of Mattress Toppers

  • Mattress toppers are classified depending on the type of material used in their construction. There are essentially five types of mattress toppers available in the market. These include:

    1. Foam and Memory Foam: These mattress toppers are the most popular. This is because memory foam is a medium soft material that easily molds to your body structure, giving you that extra comfort. At the same time, it does not sink with your weight. This evenly distributes your body weight, giving you the required support.
    2. Down Feather: This is the softest mattress topper option. If you are looking for a plush and luxurious mattress topper in which you can simply revel in the softness, then down feather is the best option for you. However, it does not give adequate support and is not suitable for sensitive people prone to allergies.
    3. Wool: These are the best bed for those living in colder regions with hard winters. These are excellent at regulating body temperatures, but they are also the most expensive of the lot. Apart from this, wool toppers are also not readily available in the market.
    4. Latex: Latex is made from natural materials and is suitable for those prone to allergies. However, you might want to make sure that you do not suffer from any latex allergies. Latex toppers are a little expensive than foam and feather options, and they are also prone to discoloration in the long run.
    5. Cotton and Polyester: These are the cheapest mattress toppers. They also offer excellent breathability features and rank high on softness. But, cotton toppers are prone to easy wear and tear and are not adept at providing good support to the body.

There are several types of mattress toppers available on the market, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. Memory foam is often lauded for its contouring ability, which can help alleviate pressure points. However, some users find that memory foam has an initial odor that dissipates over time. Down feather toppers are known for their luxurious feel, but they may lose feathers over time and need to be fluffed periodically. Regular pillow material toppers are a more affordable option, but they may not provide the same level of support as memory foam or down feather. Ultimately, it is important to weigh the pros and cons of each type of material before making a decision.

    1. Mattress toppers are available in a variety of materials: Mattress toppers can be made with different types of foam, down feathers, or regular pillow material.
    2. There are pros and cons to each type of material: Memory foam often has an odor at first, while down feather may lose feathers over time.
    3. Consider the positives and negatives before making a decision: The different types of materials have their own pros and cons.

Reasons to Buy a Mattress Topper

  • There are several reasons to invest in a good mattress topper at any point in your mattress life. Some of the reasons that will make you reach out for your wallet are:

    1. Cost-Effective Solution
    2. Extra Comfort
    3. Improves Mattress Support
    4. Even Body Weight Distribution
    5. Improves Mattress Lifespan

There are many reasons to buy a mattress topper. The most common reason is to make the bed more comfortable. A topper can also be used to extend the life of a mattress or to match a sleeper’s sleep style.

A mattress topper can help make a bed more comfortable by increasing the firmness of the mattress. This can be especially helpful for people who have back pain or need extra support for their spine. There are different types of firmness available, so it is important to choose the right one for the user.

People who like a soft and fluffy feel might want to buy a mattress topper that is made of feathers. Feathers are cheaper than other materials, so this can be a good option for people on a budget.

When to Buy a Mattress Topper

A Mattress topper is a cost-effective solution, but only if you are looking for:

  • Better Comfort
  • Added Support

A mattress topper can help soften your sleeping surface to adding a layer of extra comfort. It also helps by providing better weight distribution. However, a mattress topper cannot help you if your regular mattress is too old, lumpy, and sagging. This is generally the case with mattresses over 10 to 15 years old that have been regularly used. You will be better advised to replace your mattress in this condition since a mattress topper will only be a short term fix and a long term expensive deal in such a situation.

Buying Guide for a Mattress Topper

    1. Usage: If you are looking for better support, good firmness, or relief from chronic pains and pressure points, then you should look for the memory foam options. These hold the body shape and give good contour features with even weight distribution and excellent lumbar support.
    2. Comfort: For enhanced comfort and better plush, you cannot go wrong with cotton/polyester blend or the ever-popular down feather. However, your definition of comfort and softness might be different. If you are looking for comfort with support, then softer and thicker memory foam is your best bet.
    3. Density: You get toppers ranging from 2 inches to 8 inches in density. The higher the level of comfort and softness you need, the higher the density you should be looking out for. Contradictorily the higher the level of support you want, the lower the density should be. If you are a side sleeper, have an old mattress, or are heavier in weight, then a higher density is better.

Both memory foam and latex come in plenty of density options. You can easily find the density level to suit your exact preference. Other materials are a bit trickier in this department.

    1. Sensitivity and Allergies: While down feathers are best for a rich softness, they are also not suitable for those prone to allergies or with sensitive skin and temperament. Cotton is the most hypoallergenic amidst all the toppers. Even latex is a good option in this category.
    2. Temperature Regulation: The material of the topper can help you with even body regulation through the night. Wool, cotton, and down feather are the best body temperature, regulators. They are warm in winter and remain cool in summers.

Memory foam and latex are the worse. They tend to trap body heat, and you might wake up sweating in the middle of the night. The thicker the mattress topper, the worse it can get. However, there are options for memory foam mattresses as well, like gel-infused memory foam that helps to keep the body temperature even.

    1. Noise Isolation: The best option for reducing noise while tossing, turning, or getting in and out of bed is memory foam and latex. You will not get disturbed by shifting around on the mattress with these materials.
    2. Cleaning and Maintenance: Mostly, toppers will have to be spot cleaned. Once again, memory foam and latex are the easiest to clean. Cotton is also simple. However, down and wool can get difficult to clean. So make your choice accordingly.
    3. Warranty: Mattress toppers come with 1 to 5 years of warranty. This does not include sagging of the topper due to weight.
    4. Price: This is a very important factor to take into consideration while looking for a mattress topper. Keep a figure in mind and try to find the best available option in that price frame. You should look for the highest value for money option rather than going for the most expensive or even the cheaper options.

There are a few things you should keep in mind when purchasing a mattress topper. Firstly, consider the price—you don’t want to overspend on something that will only offer subpar comfort. It’s also important to think about the topper’s durability—you’ll want something that will last through many nights of use. Finally, test the topper before you buy it to make sure it’s comfortable for you. With these factors in mind, you’ll be sure to find the best mattress topper for your needs.

FAQ Section

How Effective Are Mattress Toppers?

Mattress Toppers have proven to be highly functional and effective at improving comfort and body support.

A mattress topper can be a good way to improve the comfort of your bed. They are often less expensive than replacing an entire mattress, and many are made with breathable materials that can help keep you cool in the summer. Mattress toppers can also add some extra support if you have a problem with your spine or spinal cord.

Which Is the Best Topper for Relieving Joint Aches?

Memory foam mattress topper is the best mattress topper for relieving joint aches and pressure point symptoms. Cool gel memory foam is a better option since it even regulates your body temperature.

There are three main types of mattress toppers that are effective for relieving joint pain: memory foam, gel, and latex. Of these, memory foam is the most popular option and is often the most recommended by doctors. Memory foam contours to your body and provides support where you need it most. It is also very effective at absorbing impact, which can help to reduce pain in your joints. Gel and latex mattress toppers are also effective at relieving joint pain. They are both softer than memory foam, which can make them more comfortable for some people. Gel mattress toppers are also good at absorbing impact and helping to reduce pain.

What Is the Ideal Thickness for Mattress Topper?

The right thickness is very personal. It is different for everybody and depends entirely on your individual preference. A 3-inch thickness is generally preferred for providing optimal comfort and support.

Mattress toppers come in a variety of different thicknesses, each with its own benefits. The thickness you should choose depends on your personal preferences and needs.

Thin mattress toppers (under two inches) are less popular because they don’t provide much extra support or cushioning. If you do choose a thin topper, make sure it is made of a high-quality material that will still be comfortable.

Medium-thickness mattress toppers (two to four inches) are the most popular option. They provide a balance of comfort and support, and can be made from a variety of materials. This is a good option for most people.

Thick mattress toppers (over four inches) are best for people who want extra comfort and support. They can sink you into the mattress, making it difficult to move around, but many people find them very cozy.

Conclusion

Mattress Toppers are great at enhancing the quality of your sleep. You can choose one, depending on the level of comfort you want. It can be a soft feather topper to give plushness to your firm mattress or a firm memory foam topper to boost the level of spinal support. At the end of the day, you will not regret buying mattress toppers for your new or aging mattress.

A mattress topper is a cheaper way to change the feel of your bed, but it’s not as durable as a traditional mattress. It can enhance comfort, but it’s not as versatile as a traditional mattress. I have been using the Somavedic in my house for about a month now and while I can’t say for sure if it’s the Somavedic. I have been much more productive and focused lately. My somavedic sits in our living room and has a nice glow for ambient lighting. It’s reassuring to know that is constantly working to benefit my health 24/7. The device is portable enough were I could take it with me when I travel as well. I could definitey see getting some benefit out of this if I am staying in an unfamiliar place and want to rule out any EMF pollution near by.

I anticipate that as more research comes out, the Somavedic will increase in popularity. Especially since electrical devices and hence electrical fields are becoming more prevalent and are part of our everyday lives.

Overview of the Aricove Weighted Blanket

The Aircove weighted blanket is a well designed blanket that is great for relieving anxiety and a great solution for hot sleepers that want the weight of a heavy duvet without trapping all the heat. While there are now endless options for weighted blankets, it’s important to consider construction and durability as these blankets by nature are heavy and need to hold up to washing and frequent use. Below are my findings on the Aricove weighted blanket.

Aricove Box

The Aricove weighted blanket will come shipped in a box like this. Well braned and neatly packed.

The Aricove weighte blanket comes with a canvas bag with a zipper and handles. This makes it easy to store it and travel with it. Weighted blankets are not easy to fold and look messy if you don’t folt them just right. It’s so much easier to just put this in the bag and zip it closed. It keeps the blanket clean and neat. You also get care instructions and warranty information.

Weighted blankets are bascially a commodity these days and you can find them just about anywhere including walmart and target. The main difference from just any weighted blanket and a quality weighted blanket is in the details. With aricove, you get great packaging and quality material inside as well. The fabric is soft and there is quality stitching throughout so you don’t have to worry about frayed seams or filling coming loose.

Whats is the Aricove Weighted Blanket Made of?

Constuction

Luxurious Bamboo Sheets

How to Wash the Aricove Weighted Blanket

Machine wash warm at 90F – 110F on a delicate cycle. Dry flat or tumble dry on low heat only.

Use only mild, biodegradable laundry detergent that has no acid or alkali content.

Wash it separately from any other clothing to prevent snagging and damage.

Consider getting a matching duvet cover if you prefer not to wash your weighted blanket.

The Aricove Weighted Kids Blanket

Aricove also makes a weighted blanket for kids. It has the same construction and materials as the original blanketed but is smaller and weighs less so that it is appropriately sized for children’s bodies. Children with any sensory sensitivity would greatly benefit from a weighted blanket.

My Aricove Weighted Blanket Recommendation and Final Thoughts

At first glance there’s really nothing revolutionary about this weighted blanket. But after using it compared to other weighted blankets, Aricove really gets the details right. The boxed stitching is small enough where the beads won’t shift all that much to give you a much more consistent feel across the blanket.

The bamboo fabric has a soft silky feel and is great for keeping you cool and absorbing moisture so you won’t wake up sweaty.

PXL 20220719 200300731.PORTRAIT scaled

This blanket can be used with a cover. There are 8 loops stitched into the blanket to attach a cover. I would recommend using one if you don’t plan to wash the blanket that often. I prefer not to use a cover since they can be cumbersome to attach and remove everytime you want to wash it. Instead, I prefer to just wash the whole blanket as most washers these days can handle it.

Aricove Price Trial and Warranty

If you purchase the Aricvoe and don’t like it for whatever reason, you have 30 days to return it for a refund. You do need to pay return shipping though which could be a little expensive due to the weight.

Aricove also has a 3 year warranty on their blanket that warrants against any defects or workmanship. Usually it is 1 year.

A 48″x72″ , 10 lb. weighted blanket retails for $169.95. That’s a really good price compared to others I have seen and especially  good given it is made with bamboo and premium stitching.

Final Thoughts on Aricove Weighted Blanket

Aricove makes a premium product without a premium price. If you are new to the world of weighted blankets or maybe just need an upgrade, take a look at Aricove. They have just the right size to fit your or your child and the extra attention to details adds up to a blanket that looks and feels better, and will last for years to come.

Leesa Pillow Review: Must-Have Comfort for Effortless Sleep

Leesa Pillow

All Leesa pillows are made with high-quality materials and are backed by a 30-night sleep trial. If you are not happy with your pillow for any reason, you can return it for a full refund.

Leesa pillows are generally well-reviewed by customers. Many customers praise the pillows for their comfort, support, and quality. However, some customers have found that the pillows are too firm or too soft for their liking.

If you are looking for a new pillow, Leesa is a good option to consider. The company offers a variety of pillow types to choose from, and all of its pillows are backed by a sleep trial.

I recently received a Leesa Pillow for review. The Leesa Pillow is a great choice for people who have recently purchased a Leesa mattress or are looking for a soft and supportive pillow that won’t literally let you down at night. If you are wondering if a Leesa mattress is right for you, check out my review. This pillow was specifically designed to work in conjunction with the Leesa mattress but on it’s own feels really nice and I would recommend using it with just about any memory foam mattress.

Overview of the Leesa Pillow

The Leesa Pillow has the look and feel of the Leesa mattress. By that I mean that the cover of the pillow is the same knit fabric used for the cover of the mattress and the inside of the pillow is made with Avena foam, the same foam used on the top layer of the mattress to give it the bouncy springy feeling that still provides great pressure relief and support.

Here’s a video overview of the pillow with me on the Leesa mattress.

A standard size currently retails for $75 and a king size for $95 which you can buy direct through their website. To complete your set you can even buy the Leesa blanket which also is made with the same fabric found of the cover of the mattress. It is cozy and heavy enought for comfort you but not too thick as to make you overheat. Perfect for a couch and late night Netflix binges.

The Leesa pillow comes in a box like the one below. It’s not shrink wrapped so is ready to use right out the box.

Leesa Pillow Box

Out of the box you will find that it is wrapped in plastic to protect it from getting dirty in transit. There’s also a nice card that talks about some of the charitable work that the company has done.

My Leesa Pillow Recommendation

I would especially recommend this pillow if you are going to buy a Leesa matttress. It definitely works well with the mattress since they are made of the same materials. Having both the pillow and the mattress gives you a constent feel across your entire body.

If you are going to buy the pillow alone. I recommend it for people looking for a cool pillow that has a little bounce to it. It feels very similar to a soft latex pillow. The inside of the pillow has holes in it to allow for extra breathability.

Here’s a peek at the inside of the pillow.

Leesa Pillow Inside

As mentioned in the desription, the cover is removeable and washable. Heres a sideview of the pillow where you can see the zipper.

Below is a video that shows how responsive the pillow is. Again, this is very similar to how a latex pillow behaves. The difference is that it will contour a bit better than a latex pillow and won’t push back as much.
