My X77 Massage Chair Findings
If you are new to the massage chair world, X-Chair is a good place to start. It is easy to setup and has a simple, straightforward interface with some really good presets. While it doesn’t have some of the fancier features as other chairs such as the Osaki, it has a sleek design and is something you are bound to use over and over.
X-Chair offers free white glove delivery which I strongly recommend. Here’s a picture of the box it is shipped in. It’s shipped freight so you will need to schedule a time, or, the white glove delivery will coordinate delivery and install. For this review, I decided to set it up myself so I can better understand how it works.
Like most massage chairs, this one comes in 2 big parts. The seat and the legs. Most of the install time is simply unpacking everything and cleaning it up.
The other box includes the seat pad and foot attachment. The hardest part of installation is connecting the foot attachment to the seat simply because it is heavy and you need to align the bolts correctly. Once that is done, connecting the tubes and other pieces is fairly easy.
How does the X-Chair X77 Massage Chair Feel?
I have tried all the preset massages and my favorite is the X stretch. It basically grabs your feet and leaves them grounded then stretched the back so that your hips really open up. It feels amazing.
I never really considered myself a massage chair person but they do feel great. I prefer to use it in the evening to wind down at night. If I use it in the morning, I can get lazy.

My BeautyRest Black Findings
I should point out that this mattress just looks great. The detail in the stitching is beautiful and the logo really pops.
This mattress also has handles stitched on the side which makes it really easy to rotate. If you and your partner are considerably different in size, it’s a good idea to rotate the mattress so it wears evenly.
As you can see from the picture below, my 14 lb. bowling ball doesn’t sink all that much.
In this video I illustrate how it handles motion. although it does have a pocket coil system, because the mattress is so firm, there is very little movement.
I cut into the back side of the mattress to show you each layer. Here’s what it looks like inside. The cover is stitched as opposed to a zipper cover. This made it harder to get into with scissors which is why it doesn’t look so pretty.

My BeautyRest Black Calista Recommendation
True to its name, this is a firm mattress. You won’t sink much into this mattress which makes it optimal for stomach sleepers or anyone who likes a firm mattress. I also think it would be a great choice for heavy sleepers as it will give you proper support where you need it and the spring system will work to sink a bit more.
I really like how the Calista is layered. Although it is firm, it didn’t feel hard. You can lay on this mattress for a long time without feeling uncomfortable.

My Puffy Lux Findings
Here’s a picture of how much my 14 lb. bowling ball sinks into the mattress. As you can see you get quite a bit of sinkage, even more sink than the original Puffy.
In terms of motion transfer there basically isn’t any. It’s an all foam mattress with lots of foam so you won’t wake your partner at night. I don’t think you will be moving much anyway since this mattress is so good at pressure relief you will likely stay in the same position longer on this mattress.
Here’s a look inside the Puffy Lux to give you a better idea of how each layer reacts. The top layer which is the comfort layer is the slowest to relax but that’s because it needs to provide maximum contouring. The middle layer is a transition layer which has some contouring and some support benefits. The bottom layer or base layer is the support layer and provides a solid, consistent sleep surface.
My Puffy Lux Recommendation
While this mattress is a bit pricier than its competitors, I am very happy with how well it relieves pressure. Dedicated side sleepers will really appreciate this and especially if you have tried other soft mattresses that just don’t cut it. I can’t claim that this mattress is for everyone and that’s OK. The Puffy Lux was designed to address the most pressing needs of side sleepers which is shoulder and hip pressure relief and excellent contouring. If you are a side sleeper on the hunt for pain relief and aren’t happy with the alternatives, give the Puffy Lux a try.

My Naturepedic EOS Findings
Right from the beginning, this product screams quality. The boxes are clean and well labeled and the contents are packaged neat and secure.
Here’s the mattress cover out of the box. This is a thick cover that not only keeps everything together, it provides a nice padded surface for sleeping. There was also no smell to this. Sometimes an all organic cover can smell like a sheep due to the wool batting but this one didn’t smell at all.
Even the zipper is very high quality. This is important because the mattress is designed to hold all the materials tightly together which means that you sometimes need to pull hard on the zipper. Having a quality zipper makes the job easier and less likely that you will break it.
For my review I had a soft and firm configuration on a queen size mattress. This allowed me to test both ends of the firmness spectrum. I also opted for a latex layer instead of the microcoils so I can’t really speak to how the microcoils will feel.

As you can see there is a significant difference between the soft and firm versions. Of course you can go with a medium firm as well.
Despite being a spring and latex/coil mattress, it handles motion transfer very well. That’s because not only the latex and microcoil systems are separate pieces, the base pocket coil system is two separate units as well. As you can see in the picture below.

I was given a sleeper sofa to review because I know how hard it can be to find a good sofa bed for guests. It’s important that the sofa looks good for the majority of the time its not in use but also feels good when people sleep on it. Below are my findings of their Melrose Sleeper Sofa.

If you are unsure about some of the fabric choices, they will send you a free swatch to help with your decision. From my experience, the colors from the website were a good representation of what I received. Shipping times vary, as of this writing, it can take 3-5 weeks for delivery but it can be much sooner. There’s no setup needed for this couch, you will be contacted to schedule a delivery and it will be delivered into your house which is needed since this is a heavy piece of furniture.
How Much Does the Melrose Sleeper Sofa Cost?
As of this writing, the sleeper sofa costs, $3,268 for the memory foam mattress option. If you want to upgrade to the innerspring mattress, it will cost a total of $3,018. The color or leg finish will not affect the price. If you aren’t sure what color or fabric to choose from based on the website, they will send you free fabric swatches. You also get free shipping and a 100 day trial period to see if it is the right fit for you. If you don’t like it, it’s a free return. They also offer financing through Affirm which will break the price down into smaller payments over time.

First and foremost, this mattress is made in the USA. The construction is very sturdy and it’s built to last.
It’s important to measure your room to make sure this sofa will fit properly. You also need to account for having the mattress out and that there is ample room around the mattress so you or your guests can easily get out of bed.

My Apt2B Sleeper Sofa Findings
My first impression of this couch is that it has a firm feel when you sit on it. This is typical with sleeper sofas but I found it more pronounced with the Melrose. It is in keeping with the modern look and so it won’t leave impressions when you get out of it and always looks neat.

Getting the bed out is easy. It comes standard with a memory foam mattress. For a little extra, you can make it a spring mattress but I prefer all-foam mattresses in sofa beds because they can only be so thick and its best to get as much cushion as possible.
You can see how much this mattress sinks with my bowling ball. It is a dense foam so you will sink a bit but it is dense enough so that you won’t feel any of the steel frame underneath.
Sleeping on this sofa sleeper is actually pretty comfortable. Even sleeping on my side, I couldn’t feel any steel bars underneath. Sometimes when I sleep on a sofa sleeper I can feel a crossbar underneath my hips which puts me out of alignment no matter how soft the mattress. This wasn’t the case though. It is a firmer feel and so if you or your guests are side sleepers or like a firmer feel, I would get a mattress topper for this to soften it up.
This sofa has good quality zippers and the fabric fits snugly to the foam cushion inside.
Both the back and seat cushions are made with foam and have a zippable cover so that you can wash the fabric in case it gets dirty. It can be a little tricky to put the covers back on so I would recommend spot cleaning when applicable and only washing the covers if necessary.

There are seemingly endless choices for sleeper sofas both online and in stores. What I like about Apt 2B is that you really get what you pay for. There are plenty of cheaper sleeper sofas to be had but you get what you pay for. This furniture will last decades and will wear well. The fabric is durable and high quality and with the option for free returns and a generous warranty, it’s a safe bet.

It’s time to return to the moon. The Super Moon Pod is the next iteration of the original Moon Pod. It is basically 2 Moon Pods in one, making it more cozy and comfortable than the original and ultimately more like a bean bag than a chair but still classified as a bean bag chair.

Ordering and Unboxing Your Super Moon Pod
Your Super Moon Pod will arrive in two boxes. Each box contains 1 regular Moon Pod insert and one box will contain the cover. These packages are light. The FedEx driver was able to place them over my gate without opening it. I think each box weighs around 25 lbs.
Make sure you are carefully opening the boxes. I recommend just tearing the tape off the box. If you use scissors, you risk cutting open the insert which will start oozing the small beads and wreck your Moon Pod.
The inserts are wrapped in plastic to protect them during delivery from any moisture. Once you take them out from the plastic you will notice some off-gassing which will eventually go away.
The Moon Pod and Crescent come with instructions for use but it’s pretty straightforward how to get it setup.
The cover of the Super Moon Pod is machine washable. I washed mine on a normal cycle with extra rinse and put it in the dryer on a normal cycle. I didn’t notice any fading or shrinking and it accommodated the inserts just fine.

Each Moon Pod weighs about 12 pounds. Because Moon Pod is human-filled (not by machine) there can be variance in the weight of your Moon Pod.
The only assembly required will be to slip the outer sleeve on the filled pod.

My Super Moon Pod Findings
The Super Moon Pod has a quality zipper which is critical since you will be washing the cover and it is designed for a snug fit so the zipper will be strained a little when using it.
Here you can see how the Super Moon compares to the original Moon Pod. With the original, you can lay it vertically and sit more upright like a chair. The Super Moon lays horizontally and is made to be used more like a lounger which is why I highly recommend the Crescent which gives you more support for your upper back allowing you to sit more upright. If you are going to use this for gaming or with a computer, the Crescent is a must. It also will support your neck to alleviate neck pain.
I chose the Neptune Blue color but next to me is the original Moon Pod in Cosmic Ash. You can also get replacement covers if you get bored of your color and want to change things up or just want a spare cover while you’re washing the other one. My next cover will be rose quartz.
How Does the Moon Pod Feel?
The Moon Pod feels much more comfortable than a bean back because the fabric stretches to your body giving you more contouring and it doesn’t lose support like a bean bag. The high-density beads hold up well but are still light enough that it’s easy to move the Moon Pod from room to room, even the Super Moon Pod.
The Moon Pod mimics a zero-gravity feeling, hence the space age reference but it’s great for anyone with aches and pains that just wants to float away. In fact, if you have ever done floatation therapy, this can be a similar feel.
No matter you’re age, sitting in a moon pod will harken you back to the days of playing video games in your parents basement. The Moon Pod now also comes with a foot rest so you can get even more relaxation and a true weightless feeling. This is due to the expanded polystyrene that conforms so well.

Can You Wash the Moon Pod?
You can’t wash the actual Moon Pod but you can wash the cover. I recommend a normal wash and then to dry on low heat. In between washes you can use a lint roller to keep it clean.

Normally to get all these features in a mattress you can expect to pay north of $5,000. If you are tired of memory foam the DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress is for you. In this DreamCloud mattress review, we cover all three DreamCloud models and recommend which is best for you.

DreamCloud will throw in 2 pillows, a set of sheets and a mattress protector to sweeten the deal. They value it at $599 which is a stretch but hey, if you need some bedding for your new mattress, it’s nice to have.
Your sheets, pillows and mattress protector all come in a box like this and it will ship separately from your mattress order so one may arrive before the other.
It will take some time for the pillows to get to their normal size. You can put them in the dryer on no heat to get them fluffed up.
The DreamCloud now comes in 3 different models. Here’s what’s common among them. They all are made with individually wrapped coils, aka, pocket coils to reduce motion transfer which is key in a hybrid mattress. They also all have a memory foam layer with the Premier and Premier Rest having more layers than the original. All have a cashmere blend cover, how much cashmere, I’m not sure.

This is the base DreamCloud model and the least expensive. It’s perfect for stomach sleepers and back sleepers. It’s also a good choice for hot sleepers

This is the most expensive DreamCloud and the only one that comes with a knife edge pillowtop, a rarity to find in a mattress in a box. This is by far the softest of the DreamCloud lineup and is better suited towards side sleepers and will give you the most pressure relief but stomach sleepers and hot sleepers should stay away. It’s also my least favorite of the DreamCloud line because it seems to lack support in key areas.

New pocket coil technology allows for roll packing which saves on shipping costs and the savings are passed directly to the consumer.

My Dreamcloud Mattress Findings
This mattress feels wonderful. It is a hybrid mattress which means springs and foam but it is so much more. Every layer contributes to the overall feel. The quilted foam on the top layer really allows you to sink into the mattress without feeling like you are lying on a flat piece of foam.
You will also notice other quality details like handles stitched into the side of the mattress. This makes it easy to move and easy to rotate.
This mattress feels plush and supportive. This is hard to achieve but I think Dreamcloud pulled it off by quilting foam into the top layer and then adding springs underneath. This allows you to sink somewhat into the mattress before being lifted up again by the responsive foam and spring system.

Where is the DreamCloud Mattress Made?
Right now according to the law tags on the back of the DreamCloud models I received, it is currently made in Turkey. I’m not sure why they chose Turkey, but it must be less expensive to make there than in the USA. Regardless, these mattresses are CertiPur-US certified meaning they are free of heavy metals, formaldehyde, and other toxic ingredients.
My Dreamcloud Mattress Recommendation
The Dreamcloud is hands down one of the best values out there for a mattress. I haven’t come across a mattress that is built better than the Dreamcloud at this price point. I recommend the Dreamcloud to people who want a traditional mattress feel will all the benefits of newer generation foams and a quality spring system.
In terms of firmness, I would say it is about a 6 out of 10 on the firmness scale with 10 being the firmest. If you want a mattress with foam layers that recover quickly, is breathable, and contours well, this would be the ideal mattress for you.
People looking for a firm mattress or a dense foam feel mattress will want to look elsewhere.

How to Setup your Adjustable

How to Buy a Leesa Mattress
Purchasing the Leesa Mattress was a seamless experience. To shop Leesa, just pick your size, enter your address and credit card info and presto! a new mattress in a tidy little box arrives at your doorstep in about a week. You get tracking information once your mattress ships so that you know when to expect it at your doorstep. Very convenient for knowing when to ditch your old mattress or at least get it out of the way for the upgrade. The mattress arrives in a box which makes it easy to transport to any room in your house without worrying about moving furniture or navigating narrow corridors.
Unboxing the Leesa Mattress. How soon can you sleep on it?
Here’s a video of me unboxing the Leesa Mattress. It’s super easy and fun! It decompresses to full size in about 2 minutes. You can hear the air coming in through the plastic as you open it. Sort of like squishing a marshmallow and letting go.
Sleep Experience on the Leesa Mattress
My first impression of sleeping on the Leesa Mattress is that is has a really soft top layer. Softer than Tuft&Needle and Yogabed so if you like a softer mattress, this is it! There is a little bit more bounce to the Leesa Bed so make sure you are aware of that. However, that makes it good for other activities. The Leesa Mattress sort of hugs your body which makes it extra cozy but it bounces back into shape quickly so unlike memory foam you don’t find yourself digging out of the bed. The bed is also firm enough so that you don’t feel like you will roll off or disturb your partner.
When sleeping on the Leesa bed you get a sort of floating sensation. It almost feels like you’re weightless because there aren’t any pressure points to wake you up in the middle of the night. The mattress cradles your body and provides the perfect distribution of comfort and support throughout the night. I am a stomach sleeper so I have a very high standard for pressure points.
Unlike a traditional memory foam mattress, you won’t find yourself trying to dig out of an impression if you wake up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night.
I also really like the aesthetics of the Leesa Bed. It’s a beautifully soft and silky cover although you won’t be seeing it often underneath sheets and/or mattress protector. The cover is removable with a zipper underneath the mattress that goes all the way around to it’s easy to remove and wash if you like.
With each mattress I get, I do my own bowling ball test. Check out what happens when I toss my 14 lb. bowling ball on the Leesa Mattress. You can see that it has lots of bounce and quickly goes back into shape. You get the best of a spring mattress without the springs and the best of a memory foam mattress without the lasting impressions.

The Nectar Premier Copper mattress is the top-of-the-line model from Nectar and my favorite among the Nectar lineup. It has premium materials from the cooling cover to the supportive base. It is also the most expensive of the three Nectar models but in my opinion, it’s well worth the upgrade considering the amount of time you will be sleeping on it. Below are my findings from delivery to sleeping on it for 3 weeks.

Ordering the Nectar Premier Mattress
There are two ways to get your hands on a Nectar mattress. You can order online and it will be shipped to you in a box in about a week’s time. This is easily the most convenient way because you can order from home and you don’t have to wait around for a delivery person. It’s easy to get in your house and set up in your bedroom although you will most likely need two people. I was able to get it upstairs by myself by flipping it up the stairs, end over end.
My Nectar arrived in the box below about a week after the order was placed. The delivery driver left if just outside my door with no signature required.
If you are unsure about whether or not you will like the Nectar Premier or you want to compare it against other Nectar mattresses, you can try it out in retail stores. My Nectar Copper Premier Findings
I expected a plush feel with this mattress given the construction but what I actually felt was a more medium-firm mattress. As these online mattress brands mature, they learn to dial in the feel so that is is optimized for most sleeping positions. This helps is a win for customers because they will get a great feeling mattress and a win for the company because it reduces returns.
Here I am sleeping on my back and you can see that it doesn’t sink in all that much so it’s great for both stomach and back sleepers. After opening this mattress I immediately felt the cooling effects of the phase change material.
For side sleepers, there’s adequate pressure relief. Again, you don’t sink into this mattress too much, just the right amount. If you are used to a more plush mattress, this may take some time to adjust and you may want to explore a thicker pillow as you shoulders aren’t going to sink in as much.
Below is my 14lb. bowling ball on the mattress to illustrate sinkage. What I like is that Nectar layered the mattress with a 4 inch layer of comfort foam at the top. Any more than that and it gets too squishy.
There are some other small features such as a zipper top that you normally only find in high-end mattresses. This makes it easy to clean the cover if it gets dirty. I strongly recommend using the Nectar mattress protector so you don’t have to worry about this.
Below you can see each layer. The blue on the top of the first layer is the phase change material that gives you that cool feeling when you first lay down. Some companies will color the entire piece of foam blue but that really doesn’t have much utility. Instead, Nectar puts a generous amount of phase change material at the top where it comes into contact with your body and where it counts the most.

Nectar has really matured as a mattress company over the years and has now created a lineup that can legitimately compete with other big-name retail brands which is why you will start seeing them in more mattress showrooms across the country. The Sleeepovation mattress is a completely different mattress than any other I have tried. I was given a queen size for review. This mattress is touted as 700 mattresses in 1. That’s because each coil works independently and each coil has an independent piece of foam on top. This creates a mattress that hyper contours and is very breathable.

My Sleepovation Findings
This mattress was ready to sleep on just a few minutes after opening it. Because it has springs, it bounced into shape quickly. There was very little recovery time.
As seen in the picture below, you can access the inside of the mattress via a zipper which goes all the way around. You will probably never need to use this but I thought it was fun to see and play around with the inside of the mattress.
Upon opening the mattress you will see that it has a mattress pad on top of the “tiny mattresses”. I believe it serves two purposes, one as a fire barrier and the other as a way to keep the mattresses from bending out of shape.

Below is a video that illustrates motion transfer on the mattress. Since all the pieces work independetly you won’t get much partner disturbance. This mattress performed better than the other hybrid mattresses I have tested because they rely on a solid piece of foam over the coils which can pull to some extent.

My Sleepovation Recommendation
This mattress brings some true innovation to a marketplace that has become very stale with, “me too” models. Side and back sleepers will love this mattress for its excellent contouring that can recover quickly with the help of coils. An added benefit is that this mattress is very breathable because of the channels created throughout the mattress allowing for superior airflow.
If you like the feel of coils but want the pressure relief of foam with superior contouring and breathability, the Sleepovation is worth every penny.

My Big Fig Mattress Findings
This picture shows how much sink to expect on the mattress. Keep in mind this is a 16lb. bowling ball and the mattress is designed to support heavier people so you will get considerably more sink. In my findings, people who have tried this mattress out in the Yawnder showroom have different reactions. Slimmer people found it too firm while heavier people sank in a good amount and found it gave great support.
In terms of motion transfer, this mattress has a pocket coils system and will have a fair amount of bounce to it. Although the top layers of foam will absorb quite a bit of that.
Here’s a video illustrating heat retention on the mattress. Heavier people tend to sleep hotter so this mattress was engineered to sleep cool. The thermogel foam and lycra cover help in that aspect and of course so do the springs to help with air flow. Since this is a heavy duty mattress, you won’t sink into this mattress as much as a traditional mattress which means less of the mattress will surround you and therefore less mattress to trap heat.

My Big Fig Recommendation

Construction of the Diamond Mattresses
These mattresses each take a different approach to comfort and therefore had a distinct feel. However, all are classified as a hybrid mattress meaning they are made with foam and coils. Diamond uses a patented pocket coil system to give you pressure relief and support where you need it most all while minimizing motion transfer. All 4 models measure 10 inches deep.

Intention Mattress Construction
The Intention mattress differs from the Grateful in that they use a layer of convoluted foam beneath the stretch knit fabric. The foam is made with graphene which helps dissipate heat. The Convoluted layers create peaks and valleys that allow help air flow out of the mattress.

Faith Mattress Construction
The Faith mattress introduces phase-change fabric to the cover which is a material that is cool to the touch and helps dissipate heat. Instead of a convoluted layer of Diamond Sparkle Foam, you get a solid layer which cradles you a bit more while still keeping you cool.
Here’s a look at the inside of the Faithful mattress. Again, not too much deviation from the Intention but you do get more material along with the phase chance cover.
Transformation Mattress Construction
The Transformation has the same type of phase change cover that the Faith has as well as graphene foam underneath. Below that, you get over 1,000 micro-coils that provide faster recovery and better contouring. While the coils don’t seem to provide much benefit individually, as you lay across the mattress you will notice a subtle difference between this mattress and the Faith.

My Diamond Mattress Recommendation
Diamond has really made a statement with this selection of mattresses. They have something for every budget and feel. I appreciate that they let you choose a mattress based on construction then choose firmness rather than forcing you into a specific construction based on firmness preference. All of the models are made with superior edge support. Some mattresses will try and achieve this through firmer coils around the perimeter but I found the foam used in these mattresses to work better. Since you can choose 3 firmness levels for each of the 4 models, it can get confusing quickly. To make your decision easy, Diamond created a mattress selector tool that will make a recommendation based on your needs. I found it to be spot on with my preference.
I strongly recommend purchasing a Diamond mattress if you want a hybrid mattress that incorporates the best materials on the market. The Transformation mattress has a very unique feel and the micro coil system provides next level contouring making it an excellent choice for sleepers that want the most pressure relief without sacrificing support.

My Sleepgram Pillow Review
There were a few things I noticed immediately about the Sleepgram pillow and I’ll mention them all in order.
To start off, I really appreciated the modern and distinct packaging. It’s nice to see that a company even included branded packaging in their business equation. It just says a lot. One could assume that if they’re meticulous about how a package, with their product inside of it, looks, then it says that they’ll pay the same attention to detail, when it comes to the actual product development.
Second, the pillow felt like a high-end item. The materials on the inside and out felt great to the touch. It really felt like a down pillow, even though it was not but that’s the point, right? The Sleepgram Down-Alternative Pillow is soft, soft, soft. Yes, you get 3 options and I can appreciate that but this isn’t exactly a solid feeling pillow. I like soft pillows, and their softest version (outer layer + blue tab pillow) of this pillow was just way too flat. The medium version (outer layer + red tab pillow) of it, however, and the firm version (outer layer + both red and blue pillows), were the best.
It’s fluffy. It’s comfortable. It’s a genuinely pleasant pillow but I do not recommend this for someone who prefers firmer pillows or for someone who is used to foam pillows. It would absolutely not suit them. This pillow is for that one person that wants to be held by their bedding when they sleep. This is for the person who wants more than just a platform for their head at night.
My Sleepgram Pillow Recommendation
The Sleepgram Down-Alternative Pillow definitely does it’s job, in terms of looking and feeling the part. The pillow however, could be more firm than it is, if it’s meant to suit any type of sleeper, and any type of sleeping preference.
The thinnest layer inside the pillow (with the blue tab) provides no substantial support. The firm insert (with the red tab) provided much more support. I feel like Sleepgram could really upgrade the customization significantly if they provided more options. More options for firmness, by providing a layer with a higher density of microfibers, or even a foam layer, for those who might want a little bit of both, or those just curious to experiment. If this pillow is meant to be a one-size-fits-all approach, I think there is more to explore here.
However, if this pillow isn’t trying to be a pillow designed for everyone, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it being sold or targeted specifically to individuals who like soft pillows. Because this is a great soft pillow.

My BeautyRest Hybrid Mattress Findings
In keeping with the Beautyrest line, I found that this mattress has a firm coil base layer with a softer top layer of foam. This gives you superior support with the benefits of pressure-relieving foam. The foam at the top layer is dense so has a slower recovery time but is needed to provide adequate contouring.
In this picture you can see my 14 lb. bowling ball on the mattress.
Here you can see how much it contours as I sleep on my side. Compared to other hybrids, this mattress will only sink slightly and I didn’t feel the coil system give all that much. It felt like the top layers of foam were providing all the contouring.
Here’s another angle where you will notice that I’m not really surrounded by the mattress.
The mattress has superior edge support. Most foam mattresses don’t have a perimeter edge support system and most hybrid mattresses rely on a firmer gauge coil to provide the support. With this mattress, Beautyrest used a rigid foam perimeter that provides better support than coils. That means you can sleep or sit on the edge without rolling off.
This mattress is one-sided so it cannot be flipped but to extend the lifespan, you will want to rotate it every 6 months. Thankfully they added handles to each side to make the process easier.
Here’s a look inside the mattress showing the layers of foam. The first layer of foam is quilted into the cover so you can’t see that in this picture but that is the densest layer followed by the 1′ medium comfort foam layer.
I cut into the mattress further to show the coil system. You can also see how thick the perimeter foam is.
My BeautyRest Hybrid Recommendation
I recommend the BeautyRest Hybrid to combo sleepers, people that like to change positions but overall want a firm base of support. This mattress will initially fee soft but you will notice the firm coil system underneath for support. This mattress isn’t a cozy mattress in that it won’t hug your body. It’s great for people that want to sleep cool but still get adequate pressure relief. If you are a dedicated side sleeper, this mattress may be too firm for your liking but still softer than the BeautyRest black. If you are a dedicated stomach sleeper, the BeautyRest Black is the better choice. At $1,299 it is a good price that makes it competitive with other popular online mattress brands but when you consider you get free white glove delivery, it’s an even better value.
