The Sleepgram Down-Alternative Pillow is a beautiful pillow. Sleepgram’s appeal is their emphasis on customization. Not only have they produced a great looking and great feeling pillow, but there’s two more inside. The pillow comes with a fluffy outer layer and you’ll find 2 more with the pull of a zipper. One layer has a red tab, which is more firm, the other layer has a blue tab, which is softer. The idea here is that you can change up the arrangement until you find a firmness best suited to your preferences. The company was founded in 2016 by two friends from Los Angeles.

My Sleepgram Pillow Review

There were a few things I noticed immediately about the Sleepgram pillow and I’ll mention them all in order.

To start off, I really appreciated the modern and distinct packaging. It’s nice to see that a company even included branded packaging in their business equation. It just says a lot. One could assume that if they’re meticulous about how a package, with their product inside of it, looks, then it says that they’ll pay the same attention to detail, when it comes to the actual product development.

Second, the pillow felt like a high-end item. The materials on the inside and out felt great to the touch. It really felt like a down pillow, even though it was not but that’s the point, right? The Sleepgram Down-Alternative Pillow is soft, soft, soft. Yes, you get 3 options and I can appreciate that but this isn’t exactly a solid feeling pillow. I like soft pillows, and their softest version (outer layer + blue tab pillow) of this pillow was just way too flat. The medium version (outer layer + red tab pillow) of it, however, and the firm version (outer layer + both red and blue pillows), were the best.

It’s fluffy. It’s comfortable. It’s a genuinely pleasant pillow but I do not recommend this for someone who prefers firmer pillows or for someone who is used to foam pillows. It would absolutely not suit them. This pillow is for that one person that wants to be held by their bedding when they sleep. This is for the person who wants more than just a platform for their head at night.

sleepgram down-alternative pillow inside

My Sleepgram Pillow Recommendation

The Sleepgram Down-Alternative Pillow definitely does it’s job, in terms of looking and feeling the part. The pillow however, could be more firm than it is, if it’s meant to suit any type of sleeper, and any type of sleeping preference.

The thinnest layer inside the pillow (with the blue tab) provides no substantial support. The firm insert (with the red tab) provided much more support. I feel like Sleepgram could really upgrade the customization significantly if they provided more options. More options for firmness, by providing a layer with a higher density of microfibers, or even a foam layer, for those who might want a little bit of both, or those just curious to experiment. If this pillow is meant to be a one-size-fits-all approach, I think there is more to explore here.

However, if this pillow isn’t trying to be a pillow designed for everyone, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it being sold or targeted specifically to individuals who like soft pillows. Because this is a great soft pillow.

They BeautyRest Hybrid mattress is a spring and foam mattress A queen size retails for $1,299. It is less expensive than the flagship Beautyrest Black which retails at  $2,099 in a queen size. The major difference between the two comes down to feel. The Hybrid is a bit softer on the top while the Black retains a firmer feel throughout. Both of these mattresses incorporate over a century of craftsmanship and innovation provided by Simmons. Most of the online mattress brands haven’t even been around a decade.

Overview of the BeautyRest Hybrid Mattress

You can order this mattress directly from the BeautyRest website. You get the best price and free white glove delivery which includes setup of the mattress in the room of your choice along with removal of your old mattress. My BeautyRest Hybrid Mattress Findings

In keeping with the Beautyrest line, I found that this mattress has a firm coil base layer with a softer top layer of foam. This gives you superior support with the benefits of pressure-relieving foam. The foam at the top layer is dense so has a slower recovery time but is needed to provide adequate contouring.

In this picture you can see my 14 lb. bowling ball on the mattress.

Beautyrest hybrid sink

Here you can see how much it contours as I sleep on my side. Compared to other hybrids, this mattress will only sink slightly and I didn’t feel the coil system give all that much. It felt like the top layers of foam were providing all the contouring.

Beautyrest hybrid contouring

Here’s another angle where you will notice that I’m not really surrounded by the mattress.

beautyrest 2

The mattress has superior edge support. Most foam mattresses don’t have a perimeter edge support system and most hybrid mattresses rely on a firmer gauge coil to provide the support. With this mattress, Beautyrest used a rigid foam perimeter that provides better support than coils. That means you can sleep or sit on the edge without rolling off.

beautyrest edge support

This mattress is one-sided so it cannot be flipped but to extend the lifespan, you will want to rotate it every 6 months. Thankfully they added handles to each side to make the process easier.

beautyrest handles

Here’s a look inside the mattress showing the layers of foam. The first layer of foam is quilted into the cover so you can’t see that in this picture but that is the densest layer followed by the 1′ medium comfort foam layer.

beautyrest squish

I cut into the mattress further to show the coil system. You can also see how thick the perimeter foam is.

My BeautyRest Hybrid Recommendation

I recommend the BeautyRest Hybrid to combo sleepers, people that like to change positions but overall want a firm base of support. This mattress will initially fee soft but you will notice the firm coil system underneath for support. This mattress isn’t a cozy mattress in that it won’t hug your body. It’s great for people that want to sleep cool but still get adequate pressure relief. If you are a dedicated side sleeper, this mattress may be too firm for your liking but still softer than the BeautyRest black. If you are a dedicated stomach sleeper, the BeautyRest Black is the better choice. At $1,299 it is a good price that makes it competitive with other popular online mattress brands but when you consider you get free white glove delivery, it’s an even better value.

EverPillow Review: Stunning Adjustable Comfort for Sleepers

Infinite Moon PIllow Review
[lasso id="138983" link_id="123607" ref="amzn-everpillow-by-infinitemoon-curved-side-sleeper-bed-pillow-premium-adjustable-fill-pillow-natural-latex-tencel-poly-fill-organic-cotton-cover-queen-pillow"]

The Everpillow by Infinite Moon is another pillow in the world of customizable pillows. It can be a competitive world out there. Almost every new pillow is one you can open and change to your liking so it makes sense that companies have to find ways to be different. In the case of Everpillow, they aren’t just different but they act differently too. By purchasing an Everpillow, you get to be part of a bigger story and you can read more about that below.

everpillow by infinite moon review

Overview of the EverPillow

Infinite Moon has kept things relatively simple with the Everpillow, with unique options where they would work best. There are two pillow types, one for back and stomach sleepers, and another for side sleepers. The difference between the two is that they’re just cut a little differently. You then have the option to also customize what kind of pillow fill you’ll get, which is pretty unique! The company is based out of Colorado so for anyone who is a big patriot, you’ll be happy to know this pillow is handmade at home in the US of A.

everpillow unboxing

Construction of the EverPillow

The Everpillow comes in two different styles: “The Original” or “The Curve,” with the Curve being designed specifically for side sleepers. As far as pillow fill, that is another aspect you’re able to customize. Your options are Kapok Silk Fill, Latex Noodle Fill, or a Blend (of the two). Kapok Silk is a silky cotton fiber from the seedpod of the Java Cotton Tree. It’s known for being resistant to moisture and dust mites. This is the first time I’ve heard of Kapok Silk, so that’s another thumbs up to being different.

The pillows only come in the following sizes:

The Original: 26 X 18 X 5 in

The Curve: 26 X 18 X 5 in

My EverPillow Findings

On the Infinite Moon homepage, where the Everpillow is advertised, there are a bunch of checked boxes representing all the positive aspects of the Everpillow. One thing that stood out to me was the last checked box which read, “A Product With A Purpose.” I assumed this may be another reference to them creating an affordable and eco-friendly product but that wasn’t the case. Everpillow actually IS a product with a purpose because they partner with an organization known as the Mile High Workshop.

Mile High Workshop is a job training and employment program based out of Denver, Colorado. Women and men who were once victims of homelessness, addiction and incarnation are given the opportunity to rebuild their lives through the program. Individuals that partake in the program are given 32 hours of paid work per week. They’re also able to partake in group program activities such as computer training, budgeting, resume building, conflict resolution and self empowerment. One-on-one sessions with an on-staff Professional Development Advocate are available, as well as basic needs resources for finding housing, transportation, food assistance as well as long term employment.

everpillow vacuum sealed

For people that care a lot about these sorts of philanthropic endeavors, wanting to try a new pillow can easily become a lot more simple knowing that no matter if you end up liking it or not, you were still able to contribute to a really noble cause with your purchase.

That means YOU get to be part of a bigger story, too. Because behind every one of our pillows, there’s a story of brand-new beginning for someone. And it’s only natural that we would want to share with you how your purchase is making a difference in their lives.

everpillow infinite moon 2

My Infinite Moon EverPillow Recommendation

I was pleasantly surprised with the EverPillow. I wasn’t sure what to expect but from the unboxing to trying out the actual pillows, it was a very intuitive and enjoyable experience. I feel that they make quality products that are accurately priced and I like that they’ve made a real effort in trying to be different and in trying to be and do better. I am still fascinated with Kapok silk, so much so that I’ve tried to see if anyone has made a comforter with the material but it hasn’t yet been done. Maybe Infinite Moon will step up to the plate 🙂

everpillow review

While I really like the EverPillow, there are 2 small things I would change. I would change the color of the pillow, as when it comes to pillows, I just think white is best and I would also like to mention something regarding pillow size. For one, it’s a little limiting to have two different pillows that are the same dimensions. Standard pillows measure 20” X 28” and Queen pillows measure 20” X 30”. The Everpillow, regardless of whether it’s The Original or The Curve, measure 26” X 18”. This feels like a strange measurement in comparison to what is typical in the industry. In this case, I think following the norm is best. I think companies should stick with standard pillow sizes, especially to more easily suit any bedding that an individual has in their home. They won’t always want the pillowcase that comes with the pillow. In fact, most probably won’t. When it comes to the Curve pillow, maybe I can understand the necessity of the additional dimension but I think maybe there is a little bit of room for improvement in that area. That OR they should also sell white pillowcases to accommodate the size of the pillow.

Deep Sleep: The Must-Have Key to Better Health

Deep Sleep

Within the nocturnal rhythms of human sleep, deep sleep emerges as a phase of profound significance. As the bedrock of the sleep cycle, it not only rejuvenates the body but also fortifies the mind, playing an instrumental role in our overall health and well-being.

The Nightly Odyssey

Sleep isn’t a monolithic state. Rather, it’s a journey through several stages, each distinguished by specific brainwave patterns and physiological markers. This odyssey commences with the lighter phases of non-rapid eye movement (NREM) sleep—N1 and N2—culminating in the N3 stage, universally recognized as deep sleep. This progression then gives way to the vivid tapestry of rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, the realm of dreams.

The Hallmarks of Deep Sleep

Deep sleep is demarcated by its delta wave brain activity, which oscillates at a leisurely 0.5 to 2 Hz. This is a stark departure from the fragmented and quicker rhythms of earlier sleep stages. This distinctive wave pattern has earned it the alternate designation: slow-wave sleep.

A Sanctuary of Physical Renewal

The benefits of deep sleep are manifold. Physiologically, it’s the period when the body kicks into overdrive to repair and rebuild. Tissues undergo restoration, muscles experience growth, and vital hormones, instrumental in recovery and growth, are secreted in abundance. Moreover, cortisol, often dubbed the ‘stress hormone’, drops to its nadir, providing a well-deserved respite from daily pressures.

Cognitive Consolidation

Beyond its tangible physical benefits, deep sleep is the linchpin for cognitive health. It’s during this phase that memory consolidation predominantly takes place, transferring and solidifying new learnings from ephemeral short-term memory to enduring long-term storage. In essence, for those in pursuit of knowledge or skill acquisition, deep sleep is nothing short of a cerebral boon.

The Modern Sleep Crisis

Alas, in the hustle of contemporary life, deep sleep often becomes collateral damage. The pervasive glow of screens emitting blue light, erratic sleep schedules, and the omnipresent specter of stress can truncate or disrupt this vital stage. Given its centrality to health and cognition, there’s a burgeoning imperative to recalibrate our lifestyles, ensuring deep sleep is given the reverence it duly merits.

To encapsulate, deep sleep is not just a phase—it’s a physiological and cognitive powerhouse. As the mysteries of sleep continue to unfurl, one axiom stands resilient: a commitment to deep, uninterrupted sleep is tantamount to a commitment to optimal health and mental acuity.

deep sleep mn

As society plunges deeper into the digital age, the repercussions on our natural sleep rhythms grow ever more pronounced. The significance of deep sleep, often overshadowed by the allure of productivity and constant connectivity, demands a renewed focus. Here, we delve further into the intricate tapestry of this vital sleep stage, highlighting its broader implications and the challenges of our modern epoch.

Deciphering the Deep Sleep Mechanism

The orchestration of deep sleep is a marvel of biological engineering. During this phase, neural oscillations slow considerably, allowing for synaptic homeostasis—the balancing act of strengthening important neural connections while pruning redundant ones. This process is essential for the brain’s plasticity, ensuring we remain adaptable and resilient in an ever-evolving environment.

Immunity and Deep Sleep: The Silent Synergy

Deep sleep’s remit extends beyond cognitive prowess. Recent research has elucidated its role in bolstering the immune system. During this phase, the production of cytokines—proteins vital for targeting inflammation and infection—increases. Concurrently, the number of T-cells, the guardians of our immune system, also sees an uptick. This synergy fortifies the body’s defenses, rendering it more equipped to combat pathogens and disease.

The Societal Sleep Deficit

Alarmingly, studies indicate a pervasive decline in the amount of deep sleep individuals achieve, especially in industrialized nations. Factors such as increased screen time, caffeine consumption, and urban noise pollution contribute to this worrying trend. The ramifications are multifold: from heightened susceptibility to illnesses to diminished cognitive performance and mood disorders.

Navigating the Deep Sleep Dilemma

Addressing the deep sleep conundrum requires a multi-faceted approach. On a personal level, individuals can adopt sleep hygiene practices—establishing consistent sleep schedules, curating a conducive sleep environment, and limiting screen exposure before bedtime. On a societal scale, there’s a pressing need for awareness campaigns, emphasizing the profound health benefits of quality sleep and the dangers of its deprivation.

Moreover, as urban planning evolves, considerations for noise-reducing structures and green spaces—which have been shown to improve sleep quality—should be paramount. And in the corporate realm, a shift in perspective is essential, moving away from the glorification of burnout culture to recognizing and promoting the importance of rest.

Deep Sleep minnesota

While the foundational attributes of deep sleep—restoration, cognitive consolidation, and immune fortification—are widely acknowledged, emerging research continues to unearth even broader implications. The intricate dance of deep sleep with our physical, emotional, and psychological well-being unveils a landscape rich in potential and rife with challenges in today’s fast-paced world.

The Emotional Equilibrium

Emotional health, often viewed as distinct from the physiological, is inextricably tied to our sleep patterns. Deep sleep, in particular, plays a pivotal role in emotional regulation. The amygdala, the brain’s emotional epicenter, becomes hyper-reactive to negative stimuli in the absence of quality deep sleep. This heightened reactivity can lead to exacerbated emotional responses, paving the way for mood swings and even predisposing individuals to mental health challenges.

Deep Sleep and Cardiovascular Health

The heart, the body’s indefatigable workhorse, also stands to gain from the recuperative powers of deep sleep. Nightly dips in blood pressure during this phase offer a reprieve to the cardiovascular system. Chronic deprivation of deep sleep can disrupt this natural ebb and flow, contributing to hypertension and a heightened risk of cardiovascular diseases.

The Metabolic Connection

Metabolism and sleep share a profound connection, with deep sleep playing a cardinal role. Insufficient deep sleep can lead to reduced insulin sensitivity, disrupting the body’s ability to regulate blood sugar effectively. Over time, this can set the stage for metabolic syndromes, including type 2 diabetes.

Modern Dilemmas, Timeless Solutions

As the mosaic of deep sleep’s benefits continues to expand, the challenges posed by the contemporary world become even more apparent. The ubiquitous glow of screens, the relentless demands of the 24/7 economy, and the blurring of work-life boundaries compound the deep sleep deficit.

To navigate this landscape, a renaissance in our collective sleep consciousness is essential. This means not only adapting individual behaviors but also reshaping societal norms. Educational institutions could integrate sleep education into curricula, ensuring younger generations understand the value of rest. Workplaces could foster cultures that prioritize employee well-being, recognizing that rested employees are more productive, creative, and engaged.

deep sleep minnesota

Minnesota, known for its pristine lakes, dense forests, and vibrant urban centers, is emblematic of the American Midwest’s duality of bustling city life juxtaposed with serene nature. But like many regions globally, Minnesota faces its unique set of challenges when it comes to ensuring its residents get quality deep sleep. Here, we explore the factors, both environmental and cultural, that influence the sleep patterns in the North Star State.

Seasonal Shifts and Sleep Cycles

Minnesota’s geographical location presents a significant factor affecting sleep: the stark contrast between its long summer days and extended winter nights. These dramatic shifts in daylight can disrupt the circadian rhythm—the internal clock that regulates sleep-wake patterns.

During the winter months, the extended hours of darkness can lead to Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), a type of depression related to changes in seasons. One of its symptoms includes oversleeping, potentially affecting the quality and structure of sleep, including the pivotal deep sleep phase.

Conversely, summer’s prolonged daylight can result in reduced sleep duration, as residents are tempted to make the most of the extended evenings. This truncation can lead to a reduction in time spent in deep sleep, given that this stage predominantly occupies the early sleep cycles.

Urbanization and the Quest for Quiet

The Twin Cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, like many urban centers globally, grapple with the challenges of noise pollution, bright city lights, and the hustle and bustle of city life—all of which can intrude upon the sanctity of sleep. The omnipresent hum of traffic, the glow of screens, and the demands of a 24/7 urban lifestyle often compromise the quality of deep sleep.

The Minnesotan Lifestyle: A Double-Edged Sword

Minnesota boasts a rich tapestry of cultural, sports, and outdoor activities. From ice fishing on frozen lakes to attending vibrant music festivals, the state offers an array of activities that can both enhance and impede sleep. While physical activities like hiking and canoeing can promote restful sleep, late-night events or the adrenaline from winter sports might delay or disrupt the onset of slumber.

Navigating Deep Sleep in the Land of 10,000 Lakes

Addressing the unique sleep challenges in Minnesota requires a multifaceted approach. Awareness campaigns can educate residents about the importance of sleep hygiene and the benefits of deep sleep. Innovations in urban planning can prioritize noise-reducing structures and promote the use of dim, amber lighting to reduce light pollution. On a personal level, embracing blackout curtains, especially during extended daylight periods, and employing white noise machines can counteract environmental disruptors.

In Conclusion

Minnesota, with its distinctive blend of natural beauty and urban vibrancy, presents both challenges and opportunities for achieving restorative deep sleep. By understanding and adapting to the state’s unique environment and lifestyle, Minnesotans can navigate their way to more restful nights, ensuring they wake up refreshed and ready to embrace the wonders of the North Star State.

While most people consider the task of buying a mattress as a complicated and tedious chore, there are a few who relish indulging in the process of buying one. The primary problem is the plethora of options available to the buyer, making it challenging to conclude. Puffy Royal Hybrid Mattress Review & Mattress Performance

Your Puffy Royal will arrive in a box like this. Considerably bigger than the Puffy Lux Hybrid box. Out of all the hybrid mattresses I reviewed, this is one of the largest boxes I have opened.

My Puffy Royal Hybrid Video Review

Here’s a video review of the Puffy Royal and all its features. I personally test all these mattresses and we sell the Puffy Royal Mattress along with the Puffy Hybrid and the Original Puffy in our Showroom. On the firmness scale, the Puffy Royal is considerably softer than the original Puffy Mattress.

Construction of Puffy Royal Hybrid Mattress. Is it a Good Mattress?

First, there was the original 3-layered Puffy Mattress, then came the 4-layered Puffy Lux Mattress, and now is the time for the ultra-modern 5-layered Puffy Royal Mattress. The Puffy Royal Mattress is an upgraded version of the previous ones with reflexive pressure relief, advanced airflows, and zoned support for upgraded sleep.

Although an extra layer may not seem like much, it makes all the difference when going from the Puffy Lux Hybrid mattress to the Puffy Royal.

Material and Construction Specifications of the Puffy Royal Compared to the Puffy Lux Hybrid

The Puffy Royal Mattress is one of the thickest foam beds combining five unique layers of memory foam to produce the impressive 14-inch thick mattress. Detailed information on the materials used for the construction of the king or queen-sized mattress is below. In this picture you can see how the Puffy Royal is meticulously designed for superior contouring while still providing superior support.

Unique Comfort Layers For A Sound Sleep

While most premium quality mattresses contain two to three layers of comfort, the Puffy Royal Mattress comes with an added layer, offering the user with the fluffy feel of four layers combined. Each of these layers serves a different purpose of providing pressure relief, cooler sleep, and outstanding support.

The Upper Layer

The topmost layer is referred to as the cooling memory foam layer that is filled with cooling beads that helps in the dispersion of heat from the mattress.

The Middle Two Layers

The next two layers beneath the top layer are designed from ultra-pressure relieving and cooling memory foam. Both these layers have their unique properties that highlight the contour of this mattress. These layers are flexible enough to adjust to the lying posture of the person so that the user doesn’t get a feel of being stuck in the mattress. This dual-layer of foam also helps in regulating the temperature and effective for climate control.

The Bottom Layer

This lowermost layer among the comfort layers draws a massive line of difference between the Puffy Royal with that of other premium mattresses. Even though this unique one-of-a-kind designed layer is made out of foam, the presence of channels and grooves in this layer offers incredible airflow and breathability to the mattress. In addition to this, it also provides zoned pressure support and relief for an extra bit of comfort and a cloud-like feel.

Supportive Core Base Layer for Longevity

The core support foam used for this mattress is one of the best base foams in the market. Not only is the base layer made out of 6-inch firm and durable foam material for the ideal support, but it is also 99 percent more responsive due to its Insta-Firm technology. This innovative technology provides the base foam to be four times more supportive than any other standard base foam used for other mattresses.

Upgraded Cover for the Ultimate Finish

The cover of the new Puffy Royal mattress provides an excellent upgrade to this premium quality product. The plush cover on this mattress is more luxurious and thicker than the previous versions of the Puffy and Puffy Lux mattress, making it more of a comfort layer than just a simple covering. The cover is perfectly tailored to give a premium fit and feel, making it easier to adjust the mattress with the zipper. Apart from that, this cover is also soft, breathable, and stain-resistant. What Makes Puffy Royal Mattress The Best Among The Premium Mattresses?

While comfort is the priority of every mattress, there are certainly a host of other reasons why people choose to buy one mattress over the other. Some of the critical aspects to look out for are motion isolation, the cooling effect, firmness of the edges, and the like. The notable benefits of a Puffy Royal Mattress are as follows –

Motion Isolation

Puffy Royal is one of those mattresses that have negligible to no isolation. The excessively thick all-foam mattress absorbs motion as soon as it comes in contact with the bed. This mattress is a dream choice for sleepers who are sensitive to minor movements. Whether your partner is used to tossing and turning during sleep or the two of you have different schedules, the Puffy Royal will eliminate any motion transfer to ensure that you have a sound night’s sleep. Here’s a picture of how much sink you can expect using my 14 lb. bowling ball.

Puffy Royal Mattress

While you weigh much more than a bowling ball it illustrates that the Puffy Royal Hybrid is a perfect choice for side sleepers. Even back sleepers will enjoy this mattress. It can accommodate stomach sleepers but I thin they may be better suited to the Puffy Lux Hybrid or the Puffy Original instead.

Supportive Edges

Puffy Royal Review

Solid Edges provide several benefits to a mattress. Pronounced and sound edges offer a glimpse of the quality and durability of the material used for the mattress, helping the user understand the supportive nature of the perimeters. This is what makes a hybrid a good mattress for people that want to sleep right up to the edge of the bed without feeling like they will fall off.

One of my fears when reviewing this mattress is that the edge support would be lacking on the Puffy Royal given that it is an all foam mattress. I will say that while it does sink at the edge, you need to remember that you will sink into this mattress when you sleep so it would take a lot of effort to try and roll out of the bed accidentally. I typically sleep close to the edge of the mattress as do most people and did not feel like I would roll off at all.

Below is a picture of my hand impression on the top layer of the Puffy Royal to give you a sense of the mattress firmness and the mattress performance. If you want a super soft and cozy mattress, this is exactly what you get. Puffy spares no expense in using foams designed to make you feel like you are sleeping on a cloud.

puffy squish

Having good edge support is crucial for several reasons –

  • It allows the user to make the most out of a mattress by using it from edge to edge without any loss of comfort or support. This ensures that you are making the most out of your sleeping space.
  • Having sturdy mattress edges allows you to move in and out of your bed with ease, eliminating the possibility of rolling out of the surface while sleeping.
  • A supportive perimeter means that you get a surface to sit on occasionally. Though sitting on the edges is not recommended, it is human instinct to use the sides of the bed while sitting and having a mattress with such supportive edges is always a plus point.

Advanced Airflow

puffy airflow

Now you no longer have to be concerned with night sweats. The Puffy Royal mattress contains a unique SMT cloud design on its fourth layer. This helps in eliminating the absorption of heat, thereby enabling superior airflow throughout the entire mattress. The cooling gel memory foam mattress gives the user a cooler feel while sleeping. The climate control foam used in each of its layers acts as humidity and temperature resistant. Sleepers can experience deeper and sound sleep without changes in mattress temperature throughout the year.

Keep in mind though that this mattress has multiple layers of foam and you will sink into the mattress considerably which will retain more heat. I recommend a cooling mattress protector that will help draw away heat and help you sleep better at night.

101 Night Sleep Trial

A free trial is something that has become a norm in the online mattress industry, and Puffy is no different. Puffy Royal allows its users to enjoy a full 101 night’s sleep. In case you are not satisfied with the quality of the product or its comfort level after using it for 101 nights, you are eligible to return the mattress for a full refund. After all, for overall health and well-being, it is worth investing in quality sleep.

Free of Harmful Chemicals

The Puffy mattress foams are all independently tested and CertiPUR-US® certified. This means that they are made without ozone depleters, PBDEs, TDCPP or TCEP flame retardants, mercury, lead, and other heavy metals, formaldehyde, and phthalates, giving customers peace of mind. The Puffy mattress foams also have low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) emissions for indoor air quality (less than 0.5 parts per million). So sleep peacefully knowing that they’re free of harmful chemicals.

Free Shipping

Puffy Brand believes that shopping for comfort should be simple. Buyers should not buy added time and money in getting the mattress of their choice. You can get your Puffy Royal mattress delivered at your doorstep entirely free of cost and that too within a mere two to five business days.

Suitable for any surface

The supportive and flexible Puffy Royal mattress is specifically designed to be placed on any surface or frames, including slats, flat frames, box springs, and even any adjustable surfaces. You can also choose a frame like the Puffy Adjustable Base or the Puffy Bed Frame to go with your Puffy Royal Mattress.

Stain Resistant Fabric With Ease Of Washing

The fabric from which the Puffy Royal Mattress is made is completely stain-resistant, which means that any minor spills can be cleaned out in no time. Also, the mattress cover is easily washable, allowing the user to experience year-round freshness on his sleeping space. You can also opt for a seasonal deep cleaning to maintain the freshness of your mattress cover. Simply unzip the cover and give a gentle wash at home.

Pricing Specifications

The cost of Puffy Brand mattresses can range from $500 to almost $2700, depending on the type and size of the mattress opted for. The Puffy Royal is the costlier than the Puffy and Puffy Lux mattress due to the increase in the number of layers and the oft of the bed. The Royal features an additional two layers of cooling, making it expensive for the manufacturer to make these incredibly plush mattresses.

The Puffy mattress comes with a free set of bamboo sheets, a waterproof mattress protector and two puffy pillows

Final Thoughts About the Puffy Royal Hybrid

The Puffy Royal is a side sleeper’s dream. It is hands down, my top pick for anyone that is a dedicated side sleeper. It contours like no other while still maintaining airflow. Compared to other top competitors like the Original Nectar mattress it is miles softer. It even offers better pressure relief than the Nectar Premier Copper.

puffy side sleeping

Overall, the Puffy Royal Mattress is quite versatile, with several healing properties ideal for any sleeper. Though the Puffy Royal is a recent inclusion to the Puffy Brand, it has garnered several reviews on their official website as well as other reviewing sites. While this mattress may seem to be a bit expensive, the array of benefits that it provides simply outweighs its price tag. If you are still in doubt about whether to invest so much for a mattress, you can send it back within the trial parameters for a full refund in case you are not satisfied with your experience. This is among the brand’s most luxurious mattresses. If you want a firmer mattress, check out the Puffy Lux or Original Puffy which is the all-foam Puffy.

If you are looking for a mattress feel that is on the softer side of the firmness scale and has all the features of a luxury mattress that should cost much more, give the Puffy Royal a try. If you want to go with a medium firmness, take a look at the Puffy Lux Hybrid. The Puffy Royal Hybrid’s strengths are its catering to dedicated side sleepers. There’s no better excuse to ditch your old mattress. I recommend the Puffy Royal to those sleepers that only want the best pressure relief available.

The Serta iComfort Blue 100 Gentle Firm is true to its name. It has an initial soft feel but you will soon be supported by the firm base layer which prevents you from sinking in all that much. What I like about this mattress is that it is a great choice for people looking for a foam mattress with good support. It’s also available to try out in stores so you will know exactly how it feels and is priced competitively. This mattress comes with a 120 trial where you can return it within that time for a refund if not happy.

My Serta iComfort Findings

This mattress is certainly a firm mattress but the top layer is nice and soft. You will sink just a little into this mattress before you are supported by the base layer underneath. Here’s a picture illustrating sinkage on the mattress.

iComfort Blue Sink

Here’s another photo illustrating sinkage from the top of the mattress.

serta icomfort blue sinkageHere’s a video showing how much motion transfer you can expect on the mattress. You really don’t get any and you will also notice that the ball doesn’t bounce that much because you will hit the firmer base layer to absorb the energy.

This video shows you the inside of the mattress and how each layer works. You’ll notice that the top layer provides really good pressure relief but you won’t sink into this mattress that much which is good for people seeking a firmer feel.

My Serta iComfort Recommendation

What sets this mattress apart from the competition is that Serta has been able to create a mattress with a soft top layer and firm base layer to create a unique feel. With most firm mattresses you get very little contouring. Here you quickly sink into the mattress about an inch then are instantly supported by the base layer. This mattress could be used by side sleepers but I think back and especially stomach sleepers will appreciate the support in the lower back.

Since there are no springs, you won’t be dealing with any motion transfer issues and although it is all foam and will sleep a little warm, you won’t sink in as much as a softer mattress so that shouldn’t be as big of an issue. I also think this would make a great mattress for heavier people who need the support a traditional mattress may not provide.

Serta iComfort Blue vs. The iComfort Lineup: A Comparative Insight

For years, Serta’s iComfort series has been a beacon of innovation in the mattress world, setting new benchmarks for comfort and durability. Among the line-up, the iComfort Blue has emerged as a popular choice. But how does it stack up against its siblings in the iComfort range? This comprehensive comparison sheds light on the iComfort Blue’s distinct attributes and how it contrasts with the other models within the series.

Serta iComfort Blue: The Basics

The iComfort Blue is characterized by its multi-layered foam construction, emphasizing pressure point relief and cooling technology. Its features include:

  1. Gel Memory Foam: The mattress utilizes TempActiv™ Gel Memory Foam, designed to provide cushioning support while also assisting in heat dispersion.

  2. Enhanced Airflow: The incorporation of the EverCool® Fuze Gel Foam boosts airflow, ensuring sleepers stay cool throughout the night.

  3. Balanced Support: The Balanced Support Foam layer aids in striking a balance between plush comfort and adequate firmness.

Comparison with Other iComfort Models

  1. iComfort Blue Max: The Blue Max stands out due to its thicker profile and additional layers. It boasts a more advanced temperature regulation system, thanks to the TempActiv Max Gel Memory Foam. While the iComfort Blue offers a medium firmness level, the Blue Max provides options ranging from ultra-plush to firm.

  2. iComfort Hybrid: As the name suggests, this model integrates both foam and coil systems. While the iComfort Blue relies solely on foam layers for support, the Hybrid introduces the Serta Hybrid Coil™ for added durability and responsiveness. This combination ensures a more traditional mattress feel with the added benefits of advanced foams.

  3. iComfort CF Series (e.g., CF1000, CF2000, etc.): These models dive deeper into cooling technology. The CF series incorporates Carbon Fiber Memory Foam, which channels heat away from the body and provides neck-to-toe support. While the iComfort Blue emphasizes balanced support, the CF models prioritize cooling and a broader range of firmness options.

  4. iComfort Savant: The Savant is geared towards those seeking a plusher sleep experience. Unlike the balanced feel of the iComfort Blue, the Savant leans more towards the softer end of the spectrum. It combines deep contouring foam layers with enhanced cooling technologies.

The iComfort Blue holds its ground as a reliable choice for those seeking balanced support with the benefits of gel memory foam and cooling technologies. However, when juxtaposed with other models in the iComfort lineup, distinctions emerge. Whether it’s the hybrid construction, advanced cooling systems, or varied firmness levels, each iComfort model has been crafted to cater to specific sleep preferences.

For potential buyers, the choice ultimately rests on individual needs: whether that’s a desire for more pronounced cooling, the combined support of coils and foam, or a specific firmness level. In the diverse world of Serta’s iComfort range, there’s undoubtedly a perfect match for every sleeper.

[lasso id="123669" link_id="117481" ref="icomfort-mattress-collection-hybrid-foam"]

mattresses that parallel the attributes of iComfort Blue, vying for a spot in the sleep aficionado’s bedroom.

1. Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-Adapt

Tempur-Pedic’s reputation in crafting premium memory foam mattresses is undisputed. The TEMPUR-Adapt series, in particular, mimics the medium firmness level of the iComfort Blue. With its cool-to-touch cover and a blend of TEMPUR materials, this mattress offers both conformity and cooling, much like its iComfort counterpart.

2. Purple Mattress

Purple’s claim to fame is its proprietary Hyper-Elastic Polymer Grid. This unique structure not only offers pressure relief akin to memory foam but also exceptional breathability. For those drawn to the iComfort Blue’s cooling capabilities, Purple serves as a noteworthy alternative, with its grid facilitating optimal airflow.

3. Nectar Memory Foam Mattress

Nectar’s offering captures attention with its five-layer construction. Like the iComfort Blue, Nectar emphasizes contouring and support. With a combination of gel memory foam and adaptive response transition layers, this mattress promises a balance between plushness and support, all while ensuring a cooler sleep environment.

4. Sealy Posturepedic Conform Performance

Sealy, another giant in the bedding industry, presents its Conform Performance series as a testament to foam innovation. Infused with cooling gel, this mattress aims to strike the balance found in iComfort Blue—combining conforming memory foam with cooling technology to ensure both comfort and temperature regulation.

5. GhostBed Luxe

Billing itself as the “coolest bed in the world”, the GhostBed Luxe focuses intently on thermo-regulation. Its multi-layered design, which includes gel memory foam and a proprietary “Ghost Ice Layer”, seeks to create a consistently cool sleeping surface. For iComfort Blue enthusiasts drawn to its cooling capabilities, GhostBed Luxe stands as a compelling contender.

While Serta’s iComfort Blue has etched its presence in the pantheon of premium foam mattresses, the market is replete with contenders offering similar sleep experiences. Each brand, armed with its proprietary technologies and design philosophies, seeks to redefine sleep comfort. For the discerning consumer, this presents a golden age of choice, ensuring that the path to sleep perfection is but a mattress away.

Tuft & Needle Mint: Best Stunning Hybrid Mattress Review

Tuft and Needle Hybrid Review
[lasso id="62051" link_id="125168" ref="tuft-and-needle-hybrid"]

The Tuft & Needle Mint is a memory foam mattress designed to be cool, comfortable, and supportive. It is made with three layers of Tuft & Needle’s Adaptive foam, which is infused with gel and graphite to help wick away heat. The mattress also has a reinforced edge for added support.

The Tuft & Needle Mint has a medium-firm feel and is available in all standard mattress sizes. It comes with a 100-night trial and a 10-year warranty.

Here are some of the pros and cons of the Tuft & Needle Mint:

Pros:

  • Cool and comfortable sleep
  • Good pressure relief
  • Reinforced edge for added support
  • 100-night trial and 10-year warranty

Cons:

  • May be too firm for some people
  • Not as good at motion isolation as some other memory foam mattresses

Overall, the Tuft & Needle Mint is a good option for people who are looking for a cool, comfortable, and supportive memory foam mattress. However, it is important to try the mattress before you buy it to make sure it is the right firmness for you.

Tuft and Needle was one of the first and most successful online mattress brands with their original, all foam, mattress. Recently, they just launched their first Hybrid mattress which I received free for review. This mattress was designed to cradle you and feel extra cozy without making you overheat at night. A queen size retails for just under $1,500 which puts it on par with most hybrids in the market but how does it compare? We found it offers a unique feel that will appeal to sleepers that crave extra contouring and an overall plush feel.

Overview of the Tuft and Needle Hybrid

Here’s a video overview of the mattress which shows the inside and how it reacts and contours. This mattress comes roll-packed in a box like their other offerings. Both shipping and returns are free. It also comes with a 100-night trial which is typical nowadays.

My Tuft and Needle Mint Findings

The first thing I noticed about this mattress was the blue cover. It’s a departure from your typical white cover. Tuft and Needle has always done a good job with the design of their covers. It shows that they pay attention to detail in every part of the construction.

tuft and needle cover

Below you can see how much sinkage you get with this mattress. I put my 14 lb. bowling ball on it and it sank more on this mattress than most of the other hybrids I have tried.

Tuft and Needle Sinkage

Here you can see how each layer works with the cover off. Keep in mind that the cover has foam quilted into it which gives it the extra soft feel. You can also see the transition coils under the first layer of foam in this picture. These coils are not very stiff and can easily be squished with your fingers. They are a great choice because they make the top layer more breathable and resilient. If they were to use another layer of foam, or even latex, the mattress would probably feel too mushy.

tuft and needle contouring

Here you can see how easy it is to compress the foam and coils.

tuft and needle squish

Here’s a picture showing me laying on my side. It’s a little hard to see the contouring but I definitely felt like it would make an ideal mattress for side sleepers.

laying on tuft and needle

My Tuft and Needle Hybrid Recommendation

Overall this mattress is best suited for side and back sleepers. I think stomach sleepers will want something a bit firmer and I would recommend taking a look at the original Tuft and Needle.  In comparison to the Tuft and Needle Mint, the Hybrid offers a bit more support than the Mint can provide and is easier to change positions at night.

I really appreciate that Tuft and Needle went the distance in putting quality materials throughout the mattress. The quilted foam cover would make the mattress sleep too hot but they addressed this early by making it with open-cell foam, carbon fiber and graphite, all providing unique cooling properties.

The two sets of coils also add to the unique feel and don’t come cheap which is why I think they can command the price they do. If all-foam mattresses just aren’t working and you aren’t impressed with the current offering of hybrids, I think you owe it to yourself to see what this one offers. It really stands out from the rest of the pack.

The Tuft & Needle Mint generally receives positive reviews as a mattress for couples due to its motion isolation capabilities. Here’s a breakdown of its suitability:

Motion isolation:

  • Strengths:
    • Foam construction: All-foam mattresses like the Mint are known for absorbing movement better than traditional spring mattresses.
    • Multiple foam layers: The Mint combines layers of Adaptive® foam designed to conform and isolate movement.
    • Mint foam layer: This unique layer specifically targets pressure relief and further reduces motion transfer.
    • User reviews: Many couples report minimal partner disturbance caused by movement on the Mint.
  • Weaknesses:
    • Not the absolute best: While good, other dedicated motion isolation mattresses might perform slightly better.
    • Individual sensitivity: Some individuals might be more sensitive to partner movement regardless of the mattress.

Additional factors for couples:

  • Size: Choose a size that provides ample space for both partners, like a queen or king.
  • Firmness: Consider your individual preferences and sleeping positions. The Mint offers medium-firm support, suitable for most couples.
  • Temperature: The Mint’s cooling features can benefit couples who tend to sleep hot.

Overall:

The Tuft & Needle Mint is a solid choice for couples who prioritize motion isolation and comfort. Its all-foam construction and dedicated features effectively minimize partner disturbance. However, if you have extreme sensitivity to movement, exploring other highly-rated motion isolation mattresses might be beneficial.

Tuft & Needle Mint Off Gassing

Generally low off-gassing: Due to certifications like CertiPUR-US and GREENGUARD Gold, the Mint should release minimal VOCs compared to other mattresses. Most users report no noticeable off-gassing or a faint “new mattress” smell that goes away quickly.

Potential for initial odor: You might experience a slight “new mattress” smell when first opening the Mint, as is common with any new product. This is typically due to off-gassing of harmless compounds trapped during production and packaging.

Tips for minimizing off-gassing:

  • Air it out: Leave the Mint unwrapped and uncovered for 24-48 hours in a well-ventilated room before putting on sheets. This allows trapped gases to dissipate naturally.
  • Good ventilation: Ensure your bedroom has good airflow to further disperse any lingering odors.
  • Sensitive individuals: If you have sensitivities to odors or chemicals, consider airing out the mattress for longer or consulting a healthcare professional.

Advantages of the Original:

  • Most affordable Tuft & Needle mattress
  • Simplest construction, making it easier to move and flip
  • Good for people who want a medium-firm mattress with a responsive feel

Disadvantages of the Original:

  • Thinnest Tuft & Needle mattress, so it may not be supportive enough for heavier sleepers
  • Only two layers of foam, so it may not be as comfortable as the other Tuft & Needle mattresses for people who want a softer or more plush mattress

Advantages of the Mint:

  • Thicker than the Original, so it is more supportive for heavier sleepers
  • Extra layer of foam adds softness and comfort
  • Good for people who want a medium mattress with a responsive feel

Disadvantages of the Mint:

  • More expensive than the Original
  • Not as supportive as the Hybrid for heavier sleepers

Advantages of the Hybrid:

  • Most supportive Tuft & Needle mattress
  • Good for people who want a medium-firm mattress with a responsive feel
  • Good for heavier sleepers

Disadvantages of the Hybrid:

  • Most expensive Tuft & Needle mattress
  • Coil support can make the mattress a bit heavier and more difficult to move and flip

Which Tuft & Needle mattress is right for you?

If you are looking for the most affordable Tuft & Needle mattress, the Original is a good choice. If you are looking for a more supportive Tuft & Needle mattress, or if you want a mattress with a softer or more plush feel, the Mint or Hybrid are better choices.

Tuft & Needle Lifespan

The lifespan of a Tuft & Needle mattress, including the Mint model, can vary depending on several factors:

Material makeup: The Mint, being a foam mattress, typically has a shorter lifespan than hybrid or thick foam beds.

Care and maintenance: Rotating the mattress regularly, maintaining good ventilation, and using a protector can extend its life.

Individual usage: Frequency and intensity of use can impact the mattress’s longevity.

Desired level of comfort: As mattresses age, they tend to lose some firmness and support. You may need a new one when you no longer find it comfortable.

Warranty: Tuft & Needle mattresses come with a 10-year limited warranty, which covers manufacturing defects but not normal wear and tear.

General estimates:

  • Most mattresses: Expected to last 7-10 years.
  • Foam mattresses like Tuft & Needle: Generally estimated to last around 5-7 years with good care.
  • Tuft & Needle Mint: Some sources suggest it could last 5-8 years, while Tuft & Needle themselves mention utilizing it for 10 years with proper care.

Remember: These are just estimates, and your individual experience may vary. Pay attention to how your mattress feels over time and replace it when it no longer provides adequate comfort and support.

Tuft & Needle Financing Options

Tuft & Needle offers a few different financing options to help you spread out the cost of your new mattress:

1. Affirm:

  • Features:
    • 0% APR or 10-36% APR (depending on creditworthiness)
    • Loan terms range from 3 to 12 months
    • No down payment required for some mattress purchase amounts
    • Pre-qualified without impacting your credit score
    • Transparent monthly payments
  • Application: You can apply for Affirm financing during checkout on the Tuft & Needle website.

2. Shop Pay Installments:

  • Features:
    • Pay-over-time options in 4 equal installments spread over 6 weeks
    • No interest or fees
    • Requires existing Shop Pay account or creation of one
    • Subject to eligibility check
  • Application: When choosing payment methods at checkout, select Shop Pay and choose the Installments option.

3. Traditional Payment Options:

  • Credit cards: Tuft & Needle accepts major credit cards, which may offer financing options depending on your individual card and issuer.
  • Personal loans: You can explore securing a personal loan from a bank or other lender to cover the mattress cost.

Additional factors to consider:

  • Interest rates: Pay close attention to the interest rates associated with each financing option, as they can significantly impact the total cost of your purchase.
  • Eligibility: Not everyone will qualify for all financing options, so be sure to check the eligibility requirements before applying.
  • Credit score impact: Some financing options can impact your credit score, so it’s important to understand the potential risks.
  • Budget: Choose a financing option that fits comfortably within your monthly budget.

Helix Sunset Mattress: Stunning Comfort for Best Sleep Ever

Helix Sunset

The six mattresses are as follows:

Plush
Helix Sunset
Helix Moonlight

Medium
Helix Midnight
Helix Dusk

Firm
Helix Twilight
Helix Dawn

Overview of the Helix Sunset

This mattress comes with a 100-night trial so you can try it out in the comfort of your home for over 3 months and if you aren’t happy with it during the trial period its a free return so you aren’t out any money.

Here’s a quick video overview of the mattress.

Ordering Your Helix Mattress

The ordering process for Helix is a bit different from the other brands. You can certainly choose a particular model that you think will suit you best or you can take their quiz which will ask you a series of questions a recommend a particular model. In my experience, the quiz was right on and I received one of their plushest models.

After placing your order the mattress should arrive in about 5 business days or possibly sooner. It comes in a box and will be delivered to your doorstep.

Here’s what it looks like right out of the box.

Here’s a picture of it out of the box.

How Much Does A Helix Mattress Cost?

Below are the current prices of the mattress.

Construction of the Helix Sunset

Construction of the Helix Mattress

Below are the construction details of the Sunset as listed on their website.

Cover: Helix Two Touch Design
Each mattress comes with a top cover layer with stretch and a soft touch as well as a lower cover layer for airflow and breathability.

Comfort Layer: Memory Plus Foam
Uniquely pressure relieving, we use Memory Plus Foam – a special Helix blend. Plush feel. Density: 2.5 PCF.

Transition Layer: Memory Plus Foam
Providing ergonomic support and soft cushioning, the transition layer has a lower IFD to match your body type.

Body Shape Layer: Wrapped Coils
Hundreds of individual coils help to cradle your body while also limiting motion transfer. Reinforced perimeter to provide edge support.

Base Layer: DuraDense Foam
The bottom foam layer of the mattress provides base support and durability to the entire mattress.

My Helix Sunset Findings

The Sunset is the softest model in the Helix line. That said it wasn’t the softest mattress I have tried. I appreciate that it still offers good support for people that aren’t dedicated side sleepers. Helix accomplishes this through the use of springs as the base layer.

But let’s start at the top with the cover. The cover can easily be unzipped. You can wash it but I wouldn’t recommend it. Instead, I would just use a mattress protector which I recommend for all mattresses to keep them clean. The zippered cover is primarily to switch over to the phase change cooling cover. If you sleep hot, Helix gives you the option to upgrade to the cooling cover which will be shipped with your mattress. To attach it, just unzip the original cover and zip on the cooling cover.

The cooling cover will give you an initial cooling sensation to help you fall asleep a little faster. It feels great, especially in the summer months.

Helix Zipper Cover

Here’s what it the mattress looks like with the top cover unzipped. As you can see there’s another fabric cover over the foam and spring materials. This makes changing out the cover easier but it also allows the cover to move freely which give the mattress a better feel.

Unzipped Helix Cover

Heres’ the bottom of the mattress which also has a zipper to access the inside. I wouldn’t advise opening this as there really isn’t a reason to.

Bottom of Helix Mattress

Being the on the softer end of the Helix mattress spectrum, the Sunset has a fair amount of sink. You don’t have a pillow top feel though. Here’s my 14 lb. bowling ball on the mattress to show you how much you may sink into it.  Obviously with more weight it will sink more and the coils system will be engaged but you can already see that the top layer of foam is very forgiving.

Helix Sunset Sinkage

The short clip below shows how each component of the mattress reacts.

My Helix Sunset Recommendation

This mattress will appeal to people that are looking for a mattress with a mostly memory foam feel but has a spring system for optimal support. I felt like I was sleeping on a foam mattress more than a traditional spring mattress. I had all the pressure relief you would find with an all foam mattress but also gained extra sink in my shoulders and hips because of the spring system. Also, the spring system has firmer springs around the perimeter for better edge support so you can make use of all the mattress without feeling like you are going to fall out.

Helix has built a reputation for creating a wide variety of mattresses for sleepers of all sizes and sleep types. If the Helix Sunset isn’t for you, there’s sure to be something in their line that will be an excellent fit.

Purple Harmony Pillow: Stunning Support for Effortless Sleep

Purple Harmony Pillow Review
[lasso id="95213" link_id="145542" ref="the-best-latex-pillow-purple-harmony-pillow-purple"]
Purple Harmony Pillow Review

The Purple Pillow is popular for a number of reasons, including:

  • Unique design: The Purple Pillow features a proprietary grid design that is made of a hyper-elastic polymer. This material is both supportive and responsive, allowing the pillow to cradle your head and neck while still providing enough support to keep your spine aligned.
  • Cooling properties: The Purple grid also helps to keep you cool at night. The material is breathable and allows for airflow, which prevents heat from being trapped inside the pillow.
  • Versatility: The Purple Pillow is suitable for all sleeping positions, making it a good choice for combination sleepers. It is also available in a variety of lofts, so you can find the perfect pillow for your height and neck size.
  • Durability: The Purple Pillow is made of high-quality materials and is built to last. It comes with a 100-night sleep trial and a 1-year warranty.

In addition to these factors, the Purple Pillow is also popular because of its positive reviews from customers. Many people have said that the pillow has helped them to sleep better and has reduced their neck pain.

Here are some specific benefits of the Purple Pillow that people often mention in their reviews:

  • It provides good support for the head and neck, which can help to reduce neck pain and improve sleep quality.
  • It is comfortable for all sleeping positions, making it a good choice for combination sleepers.
  • It is breathable and helps to keep you cool at night.
  • It is durable and well-made.

Overall, the Purple Pillow is a popular choice for people who are looking for a comfortable and supportive pillow that can help them to sleep better.

The Purple Harmony Pillow

Purple is known for its genius hyper-elastic polymer grid, with which they’ve made mattresses, pillows, pet beds and more. This time around they’ve introduced a new pillow to their line, the Purple Harmony Pillow. Since variety is the spice of life, their mastermind hyper-elastic polymer grid is not the only thing this Pillow has to offer. The somewhat new and foreign Talalay latex is also beginning to get some attention.

purple harmony pillow height

Overview of The Purple Harmony Pillow

With the Harmony Pillow, Purple offers a one-year limited warranty, a 100 Night Trial and it retails for $159. It’s popular among sleepers of all types but from my findings, neck sleepers might be the ones that’ll find themselves most pleased.

Construction of The Purple Harmony Pillow

The Harmony Pillow is available in two sizes: Standard and Tall. Tall is recommended for individuals with larger frames. Below are the measurements and weight of each:

Standard: 26″ x 17″ x 6.5″ and 4.5lbs

Tall: 28″ x 17″ x 7.5″  and 5.4lbs

The outer cover is made using polyester, nylon and spandex Mesh. The materials used for the actual pillow itself consist of only two: hyper-elastic polymer & Talalay latex.

What About Natural Latex Allergies?

As odd as it may sound, talalay latex isn’t likely to cause flare ups for someone with natural latex allergies because of the insane manufacturing process involved. Since natural rubber allergies are due to proteins, Talalay latex doesn’t apply considering that the washing process removes most of them. This material is also known to be inhospitable to things such as common allergens, dust mites, and bed bugs. Despite these findings, it’s still recommended to consult your doctor and do further research to see if talalay latex is an option for you.

My Purple Harmony Pillow Findings

In the past, I’ve reviewed the Purple Plush Pillow, which couldn’t be more foreign to the Purple brand. Being that they’re known for engineering a really specific item, this time around it makes sense that their new pillow acknowledges that to some degree. When it comes to this industry, that’s not entirely necessary but I think that because many people have a certain Association, that it makes them have more trust in Purple as an authority because they’re mindful enough to deliver the comfort of consistency. When it came to the predecessor of the Harmony Pillow (The Plush Pillow), while the item was interesting, it was also kind of odd. It was strangely out of place. “Okay, this pillow is unique but what the hell does it have to do with Purple?”, I thought. It just didn’t seem to be what Purple was all about. Perhaps my expectations were way too high but I suppose it’s not the worst thing in the world when a company’s biggest challenge is having to out-do themselves. It’s unbearable when one’s mind is fixated on beating the competition. Maybe there’s less pressure when it comes to beating your own milestones but then again, the exact opposite could be true. Regardless, IMHO the predecessor failed to deliver. Was its concept too bizarre? It was after all, seemingly the only pillow of its type but I wasn’t satisfied. Something was missing.

purple harmony pillow talalay latex

In comparison to their other pillows, the Harmony Pillow is a new dimension in the world of upgrades. It’s less complex but offers so much more. It’s not customized at all but thank God for that. Customizable pillows can be exhausting. Besides, that’s where the talent comes in. Being in a fixed, solid-state means having to get the formulation just right. They say perfect doesn’t exist but this pillow is proof to the contrary.

The talalay latex is a nice, new introduction to their line. Man, it’s soft. Man, it’s bouncy. It’s honestly JUST RIGHT. I thought there might be more to explore and more to expose so, I was getting my scissors ready, only to find the translucent encasing the pillow was in (once outside of the pillowcase). There you could see everything the Harmony Pillow was made of. The latex and all of the punctures that ensure it’s breathable and lively. Can you imagine that even getting the puncture size in a latex pillow matters? That’s how involved this is.

The pillowcase felt a bit deceptive. Initially, I wasn’t sure if it made me a fool or if it just meant they were clever but this pillow isn’t the Original Purple Pillow. It had to be different. In application (meaning when one is testing it), the pillowcase was a genius move. The calculated use of their purple grid provides an interesting texture this brand is known for. If you’ve laid your weary head on a solid foam or latex pillow before, then you know what it typically feels like. In texture, it’s flat, smooth, boring. Maybe it’s not a big deal but if it’s a yawn fest, what’s the likelihood you’ll want to try five different pillows that appear the same? You won’t. The Harmony Pillow takes you away from that predictability because you can’t possibly assume what it feels like until you try it. The subtly is what makes it different; it titilates your curiosity.

purple harmony pillow pillowcase

The latex on the inside and the grid pillowcase work well together. One reviewer on YouTube said that if you take the two apart, that you can take any pillow, put it into the pillowcase and essentially, end up with “the same thing.” While it may appear that way, what makes this pillow function so well, and the reason why I find it so impressive is because of how these two elements work in unison. If Purple intended for them to be used separately, they would have packaged, marketed and sold this differently. She missed the point. Maybe my expectations of this brand are on too high of a peak but who doesn’t like nice things? Purple makes really nice things.

My Purple Harmony Pillow Recommendation

To put it in perspective, I’ll leave you with this. All of the pillows I’m asked to review take up space which means I’m unable to keep all of them. Well, actually, most of them. I gifted this pillow and I regret it. It would be rude to ask for it back which leaves me thinking if it may actually be time to buy another.

After one night, I had no neck pain. I always have some neck pain but that might allude to the possibility that while the pillow I’ve been relying on might have prevented more neck pain than usual, it didn’t alleviate it enough either. Trying a new pillow and waking up with no pain is so alien to me that I didn’t know what to make of it. Puzzled thoughts circled my mind as I woke: “Did the Harmony Pillow help?” “Is that even possible?” Usually, the only thing that helps is my chiropractor, haha. “Maybe I finally slept some way that didn’t mess me up,” I thought but I remained perplexed by my own body, doubtful of the validity of own thoughts. “Or maybe the pillow is just awesome…,” I tried to reason with myself. Every man and lady will simply need to decide for themselves.

purple harmony pillow grid hyper elastic polymer

Is there something they could have done differently? No but I do expect a 2.0. Why? One person was able to put so eloquently what I was not, when I was saying that, “It wasn’t what I expected.” Two words: shoulder notch. Regardless if it’s 1.0 or a possible version 2.0, I believe many, especially side sleepers, will rejoice.

Sleep Number C2 Mattress Review: Must-Have for Best Sleep

Sleep Number C2 Mattress Review
[lasso id="59296" link_id="145831" ref="sleep-number-link"]
[lasso id="59296" link_id="145832" ref="sleep-number-link"]

The Sleep Number C2 Mattress is the most popular of the Sleep Number offerings. It is also the most affordable with a queen size coming in at about $1,200 after delivery. What makes Sleep Number unique among other mattresses is that it has a dual air chamber below the comfort layer of foam that can be adjusted for firmness by letting air in or out of the mattress. All of this is controlled by a quiet pump that is connected to each side so that one side can be firm and the other soft.

Overview of the Sleep Number C2 Mattress

Here’s a quick video overview of the mattress and my experience so far. This is a more complicated mattress than the typical 3 layer foam mattresses I have reviewed so I definitely want to take more time with it to make sure I cover everything.

Ordering Your Select Comfort C2 Mattress

You can order this mattress direct from their website. I opted to purchase the standalone remote which is an extra and the integrated base to ensure that the mattress was on a solid surface to ensure I get the full experience. In the picture above it is on a slatted bed. normally I would put this on a metal bed frame made for a box spring.

After placing my order I received an email to download their App to track my sleep and adjust the bed.

My mattress took about a couple weeks to arrive. You will receive a call to schedule a delivery day and then get a call the morning of delivery with a time window. On delivery day a branded truck arrived. I really like that this company has their own delivery staff and recognizable truck.

Sleep Number Delivery

The delivery staff also called when they were about 15 minutes away so I could prepare for their arrival. I can’t speak highly enough of the delivery staff who were super friendly, knowledgeable about the product and helpful.

My mattress arrived in two boxes. The smaller box contains the cover, fire sock and mechanical pieces and the other box is the comfort layer.

Sleep Number C2 Box

The delivery staff will set everything up and even haul away my old mattress if needed, this is all included in the $199 delivery fee. The first step was the integrated base below. This basically comes assembled and I highly recommend it because it keeps all the hoses hidden and ensures that the mattress is on a solid, even surface.

Sleep Number Base

Here’s the panel in the base where you can access the tubes.

sleep number tubes

The first step is to put the cover down then put the fire sock which is a fire retardant barrier over that.

sleep number cover

After that you put down the comfort layer. This is all done upside down so the top of the mattress is facing downwards this makes it easier to insert the air chambers then flip the mattress after its all put together.

The comfort layer also has foam around the sides so that you don’t feel the air chambers and have a bit better edge support.

comfort layer

Here’s another shot of the comfort layer as it takes shape.

After this then the fire sock gets wrapped around the comfort layer.

Finally the cover then goes around the sides and gets ready for the air chamber to go inside.

How Much Does the Sleep Number C2 Cost?

Below are the current prices from their website. From what I have seen, Select Comfort will have sales throughout the year so keep an eye out for those sales which usually occur around minor holidays like President’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day and Black Friday.

Construction of the Sleep Number C2

There isn’t a whole lot of information on the construction of this mattress but that’s probably because it isn’t made like a typical mattress.

Cover: Rayon and polypropylene blend fabric, designed for breathability and comfort.

Comfort Layer: Soft fiberfill sewn into the top, providing thin cushioning and body contouring.

Air Chambers: One or two chambers depending on size, made of durable materials for long-lasting use. Each chamber offers individual firmness adjustment to find your ideal Sleep Number setting.

Base Layer: Supportive foam base ensures stability and prevents sagging.

Key Points:

  • Simple and affordable adjustable mattress.
  • Basic cooling through the fiberfill and air chambers.
  • Suitable for budget-conscious buyers seeking basic adjustability.

Additional Information:

  • 8 inches thick.
  • Air chambers covered by a waterproof liner.
  • 15-year warranty.

My Sleep Number C2 Findings

You get a lot of variation with the firmness which is what makes this mattress so attractive to couples. Especially couples that have drastically different preferences. To illustrate how versatile this mattress is I put some bowling balls on the mattress. The left side is at 50 and the right side is at 100.

Sleep Number Sinkage

In the picture below I now put the left side at 5 which is the lowest setting and the right is at 100, the firmest setting.

Sleep Number C2 Firmness

There are two ways you can adjust the firmness the first is with a standard remote which you can purchase separately for $39

Sleep Number Remote

This mattress is great for isolating motion between you and your partner. The air chamber underneath is separate on each side so that you won’t feel your partner moving around. Below is a video that shows me bouncing a 14 lb. bowling ball on the left side of the mattress.

My Sleep Number C2 Recommendation

Sleep Number is a great choice if you have significantly different firmness preferences than your partner. The C2 is a great introduction to the brand because you get access to all their technology. People looking for a more plush feel should take a look at the other models such as the P5 or P6 which have 5 inches of comfort layers as opposed to the C2 which has 2 inches of the comfort layer.

This is a relatively expensive mattress but you do get quite a bit of technology though. I also think if you want to make it plusher, you could look at purchasing a memory foam topper on Amazon and add it to the mattress to make it softer. Since the more plush option such as the P6 is $2,599 for a queen size and the only difference I can tell is 3 more inches of foam.

This is still a preliminary review and I will be updating content as I have more time with the mattress.

How Long Will a Sleep Number Last?

Sleep Number mattresses are designed to last 15 years or more. This is due to the high-quality materials used in their construction, as well as their unique design. Sleep Number mattresses use air chambers to provide support, which can be adjusted to each individual’s sleep preferences. This helps to reduce pressure on the body and prevents the mattress from sagging over time.

However, it is important to note that the lifespan of a Sleep Number mattress will vary depending on a number of factors, including:

  • How often the mattress is used. Mattresses that are used every night will naturally wear out faster than those that are used less often.
  • How well the mattress is cared for. Regular cleaning and maintenance will help to extend the life of your mattress.
  • The weight and sleeping habits of the users. Heavier users and those who sleep in restless positions may put more wear and tear on their mattresses.

Here are some tips for extending the lifespan of your Sleep Number mattress:

  • Rotate your mattress every 3-6 months. This will help to distribute wear and tear evenly.
  • Use a mattress protector. This will help to keep your mattress clean and free of allergens.
  • Avoid jumping on or sitting on the edge of your mattress. This can damage the air chambers and shorten the life of your mattress.
  • Regularly clean your mattress. You can use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment to remove dust and debris.

If you notice any signs that your Sleep Number mattress is wearing out, such as sagging, lumps, or tears, it is time to replace it. A worn-out mattress can lead to poor sleep quality and other health problems.

Sleep Number Lumbar Support

Sleep Number mattresses are designed to provide adjustable support to the entire body, including the lumbar region. However, some people may still need additional lumbar support, especially if they have back pain.

There are a few ways to add lumbar support to a Sleep Number mattress:

  • Adjust the air pressure in the mattress. A firmer mattress will provide more lumbar support. You can adjust the air pressure in each side of the mattress independently, so you can find the perfect level of support for your back.
  • Use a lumbar pillow. A lumbar pillow can be placed behind your lower back to provide additional support. Sleep Number offers a variety of lumbar pillows, including the Rest & Read™ Pillow and the Bolster Pillow.
  • Use a mattress wedge. A mattress wedge can be placed under your hips and lower back to elevate them and reduce pressure on your spine. Sleep Number does not offer mattress wedges, but they are available from other retailers.

If you have back pain, it is important to talk to your doctor about the best way to support your back while you sleep. They may recommend a specific type of mattress or pillow, or they may suggest other treatments, such as physical therapy or medication.

Here are some additional tips for choosing the right lumbar support for your Sleep Number mattress:

  • Consider your sleeping position. If you sleep on your back, you will need a different type of lumbar support than if you sleep on your side or stomach.
  • Consider your body type. If you are petite, you may need a smaller lumbar pillow than if you are plus-size.
  • Consider your budget. Lumbar pillows and mattress wedges can range in price from affordable to expensive.

Sleep Number Sagging Issues

Sleep Number mattresses are designed to be resistant to sagging, but they can still sag over time. Here are some of the reasons why:

  • Wear and tear. Mattresses naturally wear out over time, especially if they are used every night. The air chambers in Sleep Number mattresses are also subject to wear and tear.
  • Overinflation. If you overinflate your Sleep Number mattress, it can put stress on the air chambers and lead to sagging.
  • Uneven weight distribution. If you sleep in the same position every night, it can put more wear and tear on that part of the mattress and lead to sagging.
  • Manufacturing defects. In rare cases, Sleep Number mattresses may have manufacturing defects that can lead to sagging.

If you notice that your Sleep Number mattress is sagging, there are a few things you can do:

  • Adjust the air pressure. If the mattress is sagging in the middle, try increasing the air pressure in that area.
  • Rotate the mattress. Rotating your mattress every 3-6 months will help to distribute wear and tear evenly.
  • Use a mattress protector. A mattress protector will help to keep your mattress clean and free of allergens, and it can also help to extend the life of your mattress.
  • Contact Sleep Number. If the mattress is still sagging after you have tried all of the above, you may need to contact Sleep Number for warranty service.

Here are some tips for preventing your Sleep Number mattress from sagging:

  • Avoid overinflation.
  • Rotate the mattress every 3-6 months.
  • Use a mattress protector.
  • Avoid jumping on or sitting on the edge of the mattress.
  • Replace the mattress when it is worn out.

Sleep Number Complaints

Sleep Number has faced a number of complaints and lawsuits over the years. Some of the most common complaints include:

  • Sagging mattresses: Sleep Number mattresses have been known to sag over time, especially in the middle. This can be caused by a number of factors, including wear and tear, overinflation, and uneven weight distribution.
  • Air chamber leaks: Air chambers are the heart of Sleep Number beds, and they can eventually leak or become punctured. This can cause the mattress to lose air and become uncomfortable.
  • Remote control problems: Sleep Number remote controls have been known to malfunction, making it difficult to adjust the air pressure in the mattress.
  • Customer service issues: Some customers have complained about poor customer service from Sleep Number, especially when it comes to resolving warranty claims.

In addition to these complaints, Sleep Number has also been involved in a number of lawsuits. Some of the most notable lawsuits include:

  • A 2018 class action lawsuit alleged that Sleep Number mattresses were defective and prone to sagging. The lawsuit was eventually settled for $12 million.
  • A 2020 lawsuit alleged that Sleep Number was misleading customers about the benefits of its mattresses. The lawsuit is still ongoing.

Anthropologie Sectionals: Stunning Options & Smart Value!

Anthropology Sectional

Anthropologie has etched a distinct identity, combining bohemian aesthetics with modern sophistication. The brand’s journey, marked by thoughtful curation and a distinctive store experience, offers an insightful tale of retail innovation and evolution.

The Birth of a Vision:

Anthropologie sprouted its roots in 1992 in Wayne, Pennsylvania. A brainchild of the minds behind URBN Inc. (formerly known as Urban Outfitters Inc.), Anthropologie was conceptualized as a more mature, upscale counterpart to Urban Outfitters, targeting women in their 30s and 40s as opposed to the latter’s younger demographic.

Curation and Store Experience:

What set Anthropologie apart from the very beginning was its unique approach to retail. Every store, rather than just being a shopping space, was a meticulously crafted experience. Interiors resembled artful, eclectic homes, inviting customers into a world that married vintage charm with contemporary fashion. The products, from clothing to home décor, were curated with an artist’s touch, emphasizing uniqueness and craftsmanship.

Growth and Expansion:

Buoyed by its early success and distinctive brand identity, Anthropologie embarked on an expansion journey. By the turn of the 21st century, it had established a formidable presence across the United States. But the brand didn’t stop at domestic shores; it eyed international horizons. The first European Anthropologie store opened in London in 2009, marking the beginning of its global footprint.

Challenges and Evolution:

As with any major brand, Anthropologie faced its share of challenges. The retail landscape, especially with the onset of the digital age and the rise of e-commerce, demanded adaptability. The brand grappled with balancing its unique in-store experience with the convenience of online shopping. Furthermore, competition from both high-end boutiques and accessible fast-fashion outlets necessitated constant innovation.

In response, Anthropologie refined its product lines, introduced more inclusive sizing, and began collaborating with renowned designers and artists to offer exclusive collections. Their stores started hosting events, workshops, and collaborations, further enhancing their community-centric approach.

Commitment to Sustainability and Ethical Practices:

Reflecting global shifts towards sustainability, Anthropologie, in the recent past, has made strides to embed eco-friendliness and ethical sourcing into its brand ethos. The stores began showcasing a broader range of sustainable products, highlighting artisanal craftsmanship, and advocating for fair-trade practices.

Legacy and Present Day:

Today, Anthropologie stands as a beacon in lifestyle retail, having grown from a single boutique to a global brand without losing its essence. Its stores, whether in New York or London, still exude that distinctive Anthropologie charm, offering not just products but experiences. As the retail landscape continues to evolve, Anthropologie’s journey serves as a testament to the power of brand identity, adaptability, and customer-centric innovation.

Anthropologie’s Foray into Furniture: Charting New Terrains in Retail

In the continuously evolving landscape of retail, brands often explore avenues beyond their initial offerings to remain relevant and meet the multifaceted needs of their clientele. Anthropologie, renowned for its bohemian and upscale fashion collections, took a significant leap in this direction when they decided to delve into the world of furniture.

It was in the mid-2000s that Anthropologie introduced furniture to its extensive line of products. Recognizing a gap in the market for uniquely curated, artful, and high-quality furniture pieces that resonated with their brand ethos, the move seemed like a natural progression. The brand’s distinctive aesthetic, which had already captivated its audience in the realms of clothing and smaller home goods, was meticulously translated into larger furniture pieces.

The introduction of furniture not only expanded Anthropologie’s product offerings but also further solidified its position as a holistic lifestyle brand. Just as with their fashion and decor items, Anthropologie’s furniture line showcased a blend of vintage charm, global inspirations, and contemporary designs. This range quickly became popular among consumers who sought distinctive pieces that made a statement.

Today, Anthropologie’s furniture collection, including everything from plush sofas to ornate coffee tables, is integral to its brand identity, reinforcing its reputation as a curator of unique, artful, and high-quality lifestyle products.

Warranty and Trial Period

As with any premium brand, customer satisfaction, durability, and quality assurance remain paramount. Here, we delve into the warranty and trial period provisions for Anthropologie’s furniture range.

Warranty Provisions:

While Anthropologie stands firmly behind the quality and craftsmanship of its products, the specifics of warranty coverage can vary based on the particular furniture piece. Typically, their warranty covers:

  1. Manufacturing defects and structural issues.
  2. Any significant deviation from the product’s description or image provided on their platform.
  3. Damages incurred during the shipping or delivery process.

However, it’s important to note that normal wear and tear, damages incurred due to misuse or accidents, or any issues arising from modifications made to the furniture post-purchase might not be covered under their warranty.

Trial Period & Return Policy:

As of my last update in January 2022, Anthropologie does not offer a specific “trial period” for its furniture akin to some mattress or direct-to-consumer brands. However, they do have a return policy in place:

  1. Furniture and other oversized items might be returned within a stipulated period, typically 30 days from the date of delivery. However, a restocking fee could be applicable.
  2. The items must be in their original condition and packaging to qualify for a return.
  3. Custom-made or personalized items might not be eligible for returns unless there’s a defect or error on Anthropologie’s part.

Customers are always encouraged to review the specific terms provided at the time of purchase or consult Anthropologie’s official channels or customer service for the most up-to-date information regarding warranty and return policies.

Hospital Bed: Must-Have Comfort for Home Care

Best Hospital Beds

Many people have special needs that require something more than a regular bed. That’s when they should be given a hospital bed. People usually purchase hospital beds for home use for sick, aging, or disabled family members. They are called hospital beds because they have all the features of the beds found in a medical facility. Hospital beds provide the same comfort right at home to those who need more than a traditional bed.

The use of hospital beds for home use has been on the rise because of the increasing number of disabled or aging people have been living at home and cared for by family members. This is done to avoid the cost of a professional caregiver or facility. Injured people also sometimes require hospital beds, especially in cases of a hip or leg fracture. Hospital beds are more expensive than a regular bed, the reason why many people choose to rent instead of buying one. But once you do not require the bed anymore, you can resell or donate it to someone who needs it. Rented hospital beds are best for those who need it for a short while. If you have a long-term requirement, purchasing a bed is more cost-effective.

If you are planning to purchase a hospital bed, in this post, we help you choose the right one.

Types of Hospital Beds

The common feature of all hospital beds is adjustability. Based on this, a number of hospital bed types are available. Each has its own adjustment options and different features and price points. Here we discuss the most popular types of hospital beds available today.

Fully-Electric Hospital Bed

This type of hospital bed is completely powered electronically and usually comes with a remote. With the help of the remote control, the height of the entire bed or different parts of it can be adjusted. Most beds also have buttons on the size of the bed in case the remote doesn’t work. With the remote control, the patient themselves can adjust the bed. In case the caregivers do not want the patient to use the remote control to maneuver the bed, the remote can be stopped using, and only the buttons on the side of the bed can be used. The buttons are only accessible by someone outside of the bed. Operating a fully electric hospital bed is very easy and effortless and can be done by anyone. Since there is no effort required in maneuvering these beds, they have a higher price tag and happen to be some of the most expensive types of hospital beds.

Semi-Electric Hospital Bed

Many people prefer to have a manual option to operate the bed, besides a remote control or buttons. In this case, a semi-electric hospital bed works great. They work mostly like the fully electric versions but in addition have a hand crank for adjusting the height of the bed. The presence of both electric and manual options together is a plus and helps in case the electronic option fail to work for any reason. However, the manual options require more effort, and that explains the slightly lower price tag. But because they also have electronic features, they are not the cheapest.

Manual hospital bed

As the name suggests, this type of hospital beds do not have any electronic features and require to be manually adjusted. Although they are the cheapest available hospital beds today, they also require a lot of effort, and cannot be operated by someone who doesn’t have the physical strength.

Low Hospital Bed

This type of hospital beds is ideal for patients who have a risk of falling down from the bed or have mobility issues and want to be able to get in and out of bed more easily. They are completely adjustable, but their overall height is much lower than other hospital beds. They usually are designed to be within a foot of the floor. The height can only be adjusted within a much smaller range. There are no manual low hospital beds, and they are almost always fully electric.

Bariatric Hospital Bed

Going by the name of the bed, they are built to support heavyweight patients. They are also fully electric and require no manual effort to adjust the bed. The weight capacity of these beds is much greater than other hospital beds, and they also have a wider mattress area. Because they are larger, heavier, and sturdier, bariatric hospital beds are more expensive than other options and usually the last resort when a regular hospital bed cannot support the weight of the patient.

Trendelenburg Hospital Bed

These beds have become popular in recent years because of the adjustment options they offer. Whether the patient is paralyzed, has mobility issues, is injured, or in therapy, the Trendelenburg bed offers the highest number of adjustment options. Besides adjusting only the height and the foot of the bed, different parts of the bed can be individually adjusted to the maximum level. For instance, the foot can be inclined to the highest level to resemble a recliner chair, and also allow zero-gravity features with the head lower than the feet. When patients use these beds, there is no need for special pillows. However, the bed also requires a greater space and needs to be put in a larger room. Among hospital beds, the Trendelenburg beds have the maximum functionality, adjustability, and fully electric features, the reason why they are also the most expensive type of hospital bed.

Are Hospital Beds Covered by Medicare?

Hospital beds are included in medical supplies. Because they are highly expensive, most people rely on health or medical insurance to purchase a hospital bed. The question is: is a hospital bed at home covered by Medicare, the most popular type of medical insurance?

Yes, Medicare does cover the purchase of hospital beds, only if you prove that you have a medical necessity that requires it. In addition, you have to be covered by Medicare Part B and also be assessed by your doctor, who must provide written documentation of your medical records and prescribe the bed for you. The supplier also has to receive the order before Medicare is billed.

You qualify for a hospital bed if you:

  • Cannot change positions on a normal bed
  • Cannot sleep like a regular person on a normal bed
  • Cannot sleep without the head of the bed higher than 30 degrees, because of medical conditions like breathing problems, congestive heart failure, etc.
  • Need to use traction attached to a bed
  • Have a completed, signed and dated Certificate of Medical Necessity by your doctor

Hospital Bed vs. Adjustable Beds

Both hospital beds and adjustable beds offer customizable comfort and support to users, but they differ significantly in their primary purposes, features, and pricing. In this comparison, we’ll explore the key distinctions between the two in order to help you make an informed decision when considering your options.

Purpose:

The History of Mattress Brands in the United States

Beginnings

The history of mattress brands in the U.S. can be traced back to the 19th century. Before the proliferation of brands, mattresses were handmade, often stuffed with straw or feathers. The late 1800s saw the first wave of commercially manufactured mattresses, a shift that set the foundation for the burgeoning industry.

Pioneers of the Trade

  • Sealy Corporation: One of the oldest mattress brands, Sealy, began in 1881 when Daniel Haynes, a cotton gin builder from Sealy, Texas, created a compressed cotton-filled mattress. He patented his invention, leading to a company that would later be synonymous with mattresses in America.

  • Simmons Bedding Company: Founded in 1870 by Zalmon G. Simmons, the company revolutionized the mattress industry in 1925 by introducing the pocketed coil spring design, known as the Beautyrest mattress.

  • Serta: Established in 1931, Serta emerged from a collaboration of 13 mattress manufacturers. Over the years, it’s become known for innovations like the “Serta Perfect Sleeper” and its iComfort series.

The Mid-20th Century Boom

The post-WWII era brought a housing boom in the U.S., subsequently increasing the demand for home goods, including mattresses. The number of mattress brands grew exponentially during this period, with regional brands mushrooming across the country. Major innovations included the waterbed in the 1960s and the introduction of memory foam by NASA in the 1970s, which was later commercialized for mattresses in the 1990s.

The Digital Disruption

Come the 21st century, the mattress industry experienced a seismic shift due to the rise of e-commerce. The 2010s, in particular, saw a proliferation of direct-to-consumer online mattress brands like:

  • Casper: Launched in 2014, Casper became an industry disruptor, marketing its mattress-in-a-box model, which quickly gained traction.

  • Purple: Founded in 2015, Purple‘s hyper-elastic polymer grid system distinguished it from competitors.

  • Tuft & Needle: Established in 2012, this brand emphasized transparency and customer-centric policies.

The success of these and other online brands compelled traditional manufacturers to rethink strategies and strengthen their online presence.

Current Landscape

As of 2023, the U.S. houses hundreds of mattress brands, a blend of legacy manufacturers and digital-first startups. The market has become saturated, with differentiation becoming key for brands to thrive. Sustainability has emerged as a significant trend, with brands like Avocado and Brentwood Home emphasizing organic materials and eco-friendly processes.

The Future

The mattress industry is poised for further evolution, with advancements in technology and a heightened emphasis on personalized sleep experiences. Sleep tracking, AI-driven comfort adjustments, and sustainable innovations are expected to define the future.

Furthermore, the blurring lines between technology and health might foster collaborations between tech firms and mattress companies, enhancing the holistic sleep experience.

From handmade beginnings to tech-driven futures, the American mattress industry has witnessed a transformative journey. With sleep being central to well-being, the pursuit for the perfect mattress remains eternal, promising continued innovations and an ever-evolving landscape of brands in the U.S.

HybridCombines coils with foam layers for support and comfort$1,000 – $3,000+$2,050

Factors that Influence Price:

  • Brand: Well-known brands often command higher prices.
  • Size: Larger mattresses naturally cost more.
  • Thickness: Thicker mattresses typically use more materials and come at a higher cost.
  • Special Features: Cooling technology, adjustable bases, etc., will increase the price.

Several factors play a significant role in influencing mattress prices. Here’s a breakdown of the key ones:

1. Materials

  • Type of Foam: Memory foam, polyfoam, and specialty foams each come at different price points. Memory foam typically commands a higher price due to its conforming properties.
  • Latex: Natural latex is inherently more expensive than synthetic latex or foam due to its durability, breathability, and eco-friendliness.
  • Innerspring coil type and gauge: Different coil construction methods (pocket coils, offset coils, etc.) and the thickness of the coil wires (gauge) affect both support and cost.
  • Cover Fabric: Organic cotton, wool, and other premium fabrics increase the price compared to basic polyester.

2. Construction

  • Hybrid vs. Specialty: Hybrid mattresses, combining foam and coils, are generally more expensive than innerspring or all-foam counterparts.
  • Layer Count and Thickness: More intricate designs with multiple layers of foam or elaborate coil systems come at a higher cost.
  • Special features: Cooling technology, zoned support, edge reinforcement, etc., add to the price.

3. Brand and Marketing

  • Reputation: Established brands with strong reputations often charge a premium for their name recognition.
  • Advertising and Marketing Costs: Extensive marketing campaigns by big brands ultimately get factored into the mattress price.

4. Retailer

  • Online vs. Brick-and-Mortar: Online retailers often have lower overhead costs, potentially offering better prices. However, in-store shopping allows you to test the mattress before buying.
  • Sales, Promotions, and Markups: Mattress prices can fluctuate with sales and markups by different stores.

5. Other considerations

  • Size: Larger mattresses naturally cost more due to additional materials.
  • Warranty: Long warranties with extensive coverage may slightly increase the price.

Here’s a breakdown of the additional costs you might encounter when buying a new mattress:

Essential Add-Ons

  • Foundations:
    • Box spring: Traditional mattresses often need a box spring for support and proper height.
    • Foundation or Platform Bed: If you don’t need a box spring, many modern mattresses work perfectly with a slatted foundation or a platform bed.
  • Mattress protector: Protects your investment from spills, stains, dust mites, and allergens, extending the mattress’s lifespan.

Delivery and Setup

  • Shipping: If buying online, shipping may be free or add a cost.
  • White-glove delivery: This service includes in-home setup of your new mattress and may involve a fee.
  • Old mattress removal: Some companies will take your old mattress away for disposal, often for an additional fee.

Beyond the Mattress

  • New pillows: A new mattress might feel different, necessitating new pillows for optimal support and comfort.
  • Sheets: If you’re upgrading to a larger size mattress, you’ll need new sheets to fit.
  • Bed frame: If you don’t currently have a bed frame, you’ll need to factor that into your budget.

Tips

  • Look for sales and bundle deals: Often companies will have deals where they include items like foundations or pillows, potentially saving you money.
  • Shop around: Prices can vary greatly, so compare offers from different retailers before buying.
  • Factor in your needs: Decide which add-ons are essential for you and budget accordingly.

Online Mattress Brands

There are around 175 online mattress brands in the United States. This number is constantly growing, as more and more companies are entering the market.

It is difficult to say exactly how many online mattress brands exist in the world, but it is estimated to be around 500. This number includes brands that are only available in a few countries, as well as brands that are available globally.

It is important to note that not all online mattress brands are created equal. Some brands offer high-quality mattresses with excellent customer service, while others may offer lower-quality mattresses with less than stellar customer service. It is important to do your research before buying an online mattress to ensure that you are getting a good deal and a quality product.

In Store Mattress Brands

There are around 11 in-store only mattress brands in the United States. These brands typically have physical stores in major cities and shopping malls.

There are a few reasons why there are fewer in-store mattress brands than online mattress brands.

  • Cost of opening and maintaining physical stores. It is expensive to open and maintain physical stores, especially in high-traffic areas. Online mattress brands do not have these costs, which allows them to pass on savings to consumers.
  • Reach. Online mattress brands can reach a global audience with their marketing efforts. In-store only mattress brands are limited to the geographic area where they have physical stores.
  • Convenience. Online mattress brands offer a convenient way for consumers to shop for and purchase mattresses. Consumers can browse and compare mattresses from the comfort of their own homes and have them delivered directly to their door.
  • Trend towards online shopping. Consumers are increasingly shopping online for all sorts of products, including mattresses. This trend has made it more difficult for in-store only mattress brands to compete.

In addition to these factors, some in-store mattress brands may have chosen to focus on their online presence in recent years. This is because online sales can be more profitable than in-store sales.

What size sofa for a 12×12 room?

For a 12×12 room, you will want to choose a sofa that is under 80 inches in length. This will help to prevent the sofa from overwhelming the space. You may also want to consider a sofa with a chaise, as this can provide additional seating and storage space.

Here are some specific sofa sizes that would be appropriate for a 12×12 room:

  • 60-70 inches long
  • 30-35 inches deep
  • 30-35 inches high

Is a sofa better than a sectional for a small living room?

Whether a sofa or a sectional is better for a small living room depends on your individual needs and preferences.

Sofas are typically more compact than sectionals, so they can be a good option for small spaces. However, sectionals can provide more seating and storage space, which can be beneficial for families or people who entertain frequently.

If you are looking for a sofa for a small living room, I recommend choosing a sofa with a chaise. This will provide additional seating and storage space, without taking up too much room.

Are sectionals still in style?

Sectionals are still very much in style. They are a versatile piece of furniture that can be used in a variety of living room settings. Sectionals can also be configured in a variety of ways, to create the perfect layout for your space.

Why are sectionals more expensive?

Sectionals are more expensive than sofas for a few reasons:

  • Sectionals are typically made with more materials, such as wood, fabric, and foam.
  • Sectionals require more labor to assemble and finish.
  • Sectionals are often more difficult to ship and deliver.
  • Sectionals are often made by high-end furniture manufacturers, which means that they use higher-quality materials and construction methods.

Despite being more expensive, sectionals can be a good investment for people who want a versatile and stylish piece of furniture for their living room.

The Room & Board Metro sectional is made with high-quality materials and construction methods, so it is expected to last for many years with proper care. Room & Board offers a 10-year warranty on the Metro sectional, which covers defects in materials and workmanship.

However, the exact lifespan of the Metro sectional will depend on a number of factors, including:

  • How often the sectional is used: The more the sectional is used, the more wear and tear it will experience.
  • How well the sectional is cared for: Regular cleaning and maintenance can help to prolong the life of the sectional.
  • The environment in which the sectional is used: If the sectional is exposed to direct sunlight or moisture, it may deteriorate more quickly.

If the Metro sectional is properly cared for, it should last for at least 10-15 years. However, it is possible for the sectional to last for even longer with proper care.

Here are some tips for prolonging the life of your Metro sectional:

The Gino fabric used on the Metro sectional is known for its durability. It is a woven fabric made from a blend of polyester and nylon, which makes it resistant to wear and tear. The Gino fabric is also stain-resistant and easy to clean.

Overall, the Gino fabric is a durable and high-quality fabric that is perfect for use on the Metro sectional.

It is important to note that no fabric is completely immune to wear and tear. However, the Gino fabric is more durable than most other fabrics, and it is unlikely to show signs of wear for many years with proper care.

Room and Board vs. Arhaus

Both Room & Board and Arhaus make high-quality sectionals. However, there are some key differences between the two companies’ products.

Room & Board sectionals are known for their clean lines, modern design, and durability. They are also relatively affordable, especially compared to Arhaus sectionals.

Arhaus sectionals are known for their luxurious materials, intricate details, and classic design. They are also backed by a generous warranty. However, Arhaus sectionals are more expensive than Room & Board sectionals.

Here is a more detailed comparison of the two companies’ sectionals:

PriceMore affordableMore expensive
DesignClean lines, modernLuxurious, intricate details, classic
MaterialsHigh-quality, but not as luxurious as ArhausLuxurious, high-end
DurabilityDurableVery durable

Ultimately, the best company for you will depend on your individual needs and preferences. If you are looking for a high-quality sectional that is both affordable and durable, Room & Board is a good option. If you are looking for a luxurious sectional with a classic design, Arhaus is a good option.

Here are some specific examples of sectionals from each company:

  • Room & Board Metro sectional: A modern sectional with clean lines and a variety of fabric and finish options.
  • Arhaus Ellington sectional: A luxurious sectional with intricate details and a classic Chesterfield design.

I recommend that you visit both Room & Board and Arhaus showrooms to see their sectionals in person and decide which one is right for you.

Homebody vs. Room & Board

Both the Homebody Couch and the Room & Board Metro Sectional are popular choices for living room furniture, but they cater to different needs and styles. Here’s a breakdown to help you decide which one might be right for you:

Homebody Couch:

  • Style: Casual and cozy, with a focus on comfort and relaxation. Think cloud-like cushions, deep seating, and plenty of throw pillows.
    Image of Homebody Couch
  • Comfort: Top priority! Homebody couches are known for their sink-in softness and plush cushions. They’re perfect for movie nights, cuddling up with a good book, or taking a nap.
  • Durability: While comfortable, Homebody couches may not be the most durable option, especially for families with pets or children. The down filling can flatten over time, and the fabrics may be more prone to stains.
  • Price: Homebody couches are generally more affordable than the Room & Board Metro Sectional. Prices start around $2,000 for a basic sofa, and go up depending on the size and customizations.
  • Customization: Homebody offers a wide range of customization options, including different cushion sizes, arm styles, and fabrics. You can also choose from a variety of leg options and add-ons like cup holders and charging stations.

Room & Board Metro Sectional:

  • Style: Modern and versatile, with clean lines and a timeless look. The Metro Sectional can be dressed up or down to suit your style.
Image of Room & Board Metro Sectional

  • Comfort: Comfortable, but not as sink-in soft as the Homebody Couch. The Metro Sectional has a firmer seat and back cushions, which some people may find more supportive.
  • Durability: Built to last! The Metro Sectional is made with high-quality materials and construction, making it a good choice for families with pets or children. The fabrics are also stain-resistant and easy to clean.
  • Price: The Metro Sectional is more expensive than the Homebody Couch, with prices starting around $3,500 for a basic configuration. The price will go up depending on the size, customizations, and fabric choices.
  • Customization: The Metro Sectional offers some customization options, such as choosing the number of pieces, arm styles, and fabric. However, the options are not as extensive as Homebody.

Ultimately, the best choice for you will depend on your individual needs and preferences. If you prioritize comfort and relaxation, the Homebody Couch is a great option. If you’re looking for a more durable and versatile option, the Room & Board Metro Sectional is a better choice. Consider your budget, style, and lifestyle to make the best decision for your home.

Down Pillow: Stunning Comfort for Effortless Sleep

Goose Down Pillow
[lasso id="139290" link_id="123757" ref="overstuffed-pillow-side-back-sleeper-down-pillow-guy"]

Goose down is the best bedding material for a number of reasons:

  • Warmth: Goose down is an excellent insulator, meaning it traps heat well. This makes it ideal for bedding, especially during the winter months.
  • Lightweight: Goose down is also very lightweight, so it won’t weigh you down while you sleep.
  • Breathable: Goose down is also breathable, so it won’t trap too much heat and make you sweat.
  • Durable: Goose down is a durable material that can last for many years with proper care.
  • Hypoallergenic: Goose down is hypoallergenic, meaning it is unlikely to cause allergic reactions.

In addition to these benefits, goose down is also a natural and sustainable material. Geese are raised for their meat and eggs, and the down is a byproduct of these industries.

Of course, goose down is also a more expensive bedding material than some other options, such as synthetic down or feathers. However, many people believe that the extra cost is worth it for the superior comfort and warmth that goose down provides.

The Pillow Guy Goose Down Pillow is yet another item part of an incredible line of products from the clever brand Pillow Guy. I received and reviewed free one of their items in the past and was pretty impressed with their Down Alternative Pillow so naturally, I had very high expectations of their Down Pillow. This is a company that targets its items towards men who consider themselves gentlemen and who pride themselves on their good taste.

Overview of the Pillow Guy Goose Down Pillow

While the Pillow Guy only has two pillow types in their inventory, the choice to keep it simple is wise in their case. Their Goose Down pillow comes in two densities, soft and overstuffed. Their pillows are crafted with 100% Certified RDS (Responsible Down Standard) 650 fill power White Goose Down. They’re encased in a down-proof cotton shell and then wrapped in their gorgeous white sateen cover that comes with stunning blue satin piping. The cover has a hidden zipper and truly feels like something a 5-star hotel would supply their guests (and should).

Construction of the Pillow Guy Down Pillow

Pillow Guy wants to separate themselves from the crowd as a company suited more for the elite. That being the case, their terminology can vary a little so keep in mind that a Jumbo pillow is more simply a Queen size pillow.

My Pillow Guy Goose Down Pillow Findings

Unlike the Down Alternative pillow, Pillow Guy’s Goose Down Pillow is not made from a synthetic material so there’s quite a process involved in trying to ensure that they’re providing the most desirable product on the market. Their Goose Down Pillows are 100% Certified RDS (Responsible Down Standard) but for those that want further clarification on what that means, the information below is quoted directly from the official RDS website, which can be found at http://responsibledown.org.

Any removal of down and feathers from live birds (live-plucking or molt-harvesting) is prohibited

Force-feeding is prohibited

Holistic respect for animal welfare of the birds from hatching to slaughter

RDS down and feathers is properly identified; to ensures that non-RDS down and feathers are not mistakenly identified as RDS

Each stage in supply chain is audited by a professional, third party certification body

Only products with 100% certified down and feathers carry the RDS logo

If you want to read more about how RDS works, there is more information towards the bottom of the home page on their official site. That’s where they discuss the certification process in further detail.

Another aspect that I really like about these pillows is that they’re priced accordingly. Because Goose Down is a limited resource, it can be costly, which is why I appreciate the fact that their soft pillow, the one with less filling, actually costs less. Not every company is so honest but I believe that the Pillow Guy is and this is just one indication.

One thing I found interesting about this pillow is how different it was in terms of density between the soft and overstuffed pillow. With the Down Alternative pillows this was quite evident but I think that with the Goose Down pillows they’ve drawn the gap a little bit closer. I think this is a positive aspect actually, considering it’s Goose Down which can lose it’s loft over time. This however can be remedied. Down pillows just require their own maintenance in order for them to last long.

My Pillow Guy Down Pillow Recommendation

The Pillow Guy has created another top notch item that they can be proud to have in their inventory. While there is no doubt that I’m a fanatic of their advertising and would love to meet their marketing person, their products make it clear that their money is invested in far more than just their advertising. I rate this pillow an A+.

Arhaus Couches: Stunning Comfort for Effortless Luxury

Arhaus Furniture

Arhaus Furniture: A Historical Overview

The Beginnings

Arhaus Furniture, founded in 1986, is a brainchild of John Reed and his father, Jack Reed. The duo, fueled by a vision of offering high-quality, unique home furnishings, embarked on a journey that led them to the creation of a brand that’s now synonymous with luxury and sustainable design.

Situated in the picturesque town of Boston Heights, Ohio, Arhaus Furniture had its humble beginnings. John Reed’s travels around the world exposed him to varied cultures, architecture, and artistry, which then became the cornerstone for Arhaus’s signature eclectic mix of designs.

A Distinct Ethos

From its inception, Arhaus Furniture set itself apart with its commitment to not use wood from the world’s endangered rainforests. Instead, they sourced reclaimed wood from dilapidated buildings, railroad tracks, and old barns. This commitment to environmental sustainability did more than just reduce their carbon footprint; it gave each piece a story, a history, and a unique identity.

Expansion and Growth

Over the years, Arhaus rapidly expanded its footprint. From a single store in Ohio, it blossomed to over 70 locations spread across the United States. As it grew, Arhaus stayed true to its artisanal roots. The brand has consistently partnered with skilled artisans from around the world, ensuring the integrity and uniqueness of each piece they sell.

This global perspective brought a vast array of designs and styles to the American market. From the sleek lines of Italian leather sofas to hand-crafted antiques from India, the Arhaus catalog became a testament to global craftsmanship.

Innovation and Adaptation

In the 21st century, Arhaus recognized the importance of digital transformation. Enhancing its online presence, the brand started offering virtual tools, 3D room planning, and online consultations, ensuring that customers could experience the Arhaus magic even from the comfort of their homes.

Furthermore, understanding the evolving consumer consciousness, Arhaus further deepened its commitment to sustainability. The company embraced materials like organic cotton, recycled metals, and sustainably sourced hardwoods, cementing its position as a brand with a conscience.

Legacy and Impact

For many, Arhaus Furniture is more than just a store. It’s a testament to global artistry, a commitment to sustainability, and a beacon of luxury design. Over the decades, Arhaus has crafted not just furniture, but a legacy that embodies values, quality, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.

Today, as consumers become increasingly aware and discerning, Arhaus Furniture stands tall, embodying a blend of sustainability, luxury, and a global outlook. Its journey from a small Ohio store to a national brand narrates a story of vision, commitment, and adaptability.

In the realm of high-end furniture, discerning customers often find themselves weighing their options between iconic brands like Arhaus, Pottery Barn, West Elm, and Room & Board. Each brand has its unique value proposition, style palette, and construction methodology. Here’s a comparative breakdown of sofa construction across these brands:

Arhaus:

  • Materials: Arhaus is known for its commitment to sustainable materials. They often use reclaimed wood, recycled metals, and other eco-friendly materials in their frames and upholstery.

  • Construction: While they also use sinuous spring construction for seat support, West Elm places a higher emphasis on sleek, low-profile designs.
  • Distinctiveness: With a more urban and contemporary flair, West Elm appeals to those looking for a modern aesthetic in their living spaces.

Sofa Longevity: Arhaus, Pottery Barn, West Elm, and Room & Board Explored

When investing in premium furniture, understanding the longevity of the product is paramount. Brands like Arhaus, Pottery Barn, West Elm, and Room & Board have built their reputations on quality, but how do their sofas actually fare over time?

1. Arhaus:

  • Estimated Lifespan: With its emphasis on sustainable and high-quality materials, an Arhaus sofa can last between 7 to 15 years, depending on usage and maintenance.
  • Factors Influencing Longevity: The brand’s use of traditional craftsmanship techniques, such as eight-way hand-tied springs, contributes significantly to their products’ durability. Proper care, including periodic cleaning and rotation of cushions, can further extend the sofa’s lifespan.

2. Pottery Barn:

  • Estimated Lifespan: Pottery Barn sofas, given their robust construction, typically last between 7 to 15 years.
  • Factors Influencing Longevity: Kiln-dried hardwood and corner-blocked joinery in their construction play pivotal roles in their longevity. As with any high-end sofa, keeping the fabric clean and avoiding excessive weight or misuse can prolong its life.

3. West Elm:

  • Estimated Lifespan: West Elm sofas, catering to a more contemporary market, have an average lifespan ranging from 5 to 12 years.
  • Factors Influencing Longevity: The use of both engineered wood and solid hardwood in their frames can influence the sofa’s durability. Regular maintenance, such as cleaning and ensuring the springs remain in good shape, can extend the sofa’s life.

4. Room & Board:

  • Estimated Lifespan: Room & Board sofas, known for their craftsmanship, often last between 8 to 16 years.
  • Factors Influencing Longevity: American craftsmanship and the brand’s use of high-quality, U.S.-sourced hardwoods are significant contributors. Additionally, the benchmade construction method, a mark of hands-on craftsmanship, ensures durability.

Factors to Consider:

While these estimates provide a general idea, several factors can influence a sofa’s longevity:

  • Usage: A sofa in a household with children and pets may not last as long as one in a less busy environment.
  • Maintenance: Regular cleaning, cushion flipping, and keeping the sofa away from direct sunlight can prolong its life.
  • Material: High-performance fabrics and leathers tend to be more durable, but they also require specific care to maintain their appearance.

Arhaus Couches: Navigating the Landscape of Discounts and Sales

In the realm of luxury furniture, pricing strategies often play a crucial role in shaping a brand’s identity and positioning. Arhaus, renowned for its artisanal craftsmanship and commitment to sustainability, is no exception in this regard.

Sale Trends at Arhaus:

While Arhaus prioritizes the quality and uniqueness of their products, they do, like many retailers, offer periodic sales and promotions. Here’s a closer look:

  • Seasonal Sales: Like many retailers, Arhaus typically hosts seasonal sales events. This can include promotions during key retail periods such as Memorial Day, Labor Day, and post-holiday clearance sales.

Factors to Consider:

  • Demand & Exclusivity: Given the brand’s emphasis on unique designs and limited-edition pieces, some couches, especially those that are highly sought after, may seldom see significant markdowns.

  • Quality Over Price: Arhaus’ commitment to sustainability and artisanal craftsmanship means their products often come with a higher price tag. The brand positions itself as offering enduring value over transient trends, and this is reflected in their pricing strategy.

  • Newsletter & Membership Alerts: Customers keen on staying updated about sales events are advised to subscribe to the Arhaus newsletter or join their membership programs. This ensures they receive timely notifications about upcoming promotions and exclusive deals.

The Price of Luxury: Unpacking the Premium on Arhaus Furniture

In the world of home furnishings, Arhaus stands out as a brand synonymous with luxury, craftsmanship, and sustainability. But with this distinguished reputation comes a price point that many consumers find notably higher than that of average furniture retailers. What accounts for this premium? • Premium Materials: From high-end leathers to durable hardwoods, the materials chosen for Arhaus furniture are of the highest quality, ensuring both aesthetics and durability.

3. Unique and Timeless Designs:

  • Global Inspiration: Arhaus sources designs and techniques from artisans worldwide, infusing their collection with a diverse and unique aesthetic. This global approach requires research, collaboration, and often, higher production costs.
