Diamond Mattress is a fourth-generation, family-owned and operated mattress company that has been in business for over 80 years. It was founded in 1946 in Los Angeles, California, by brothers-in-law Lou and Max Diamond. The company started out small, with just a few employees and a handful of customers. But over the years, Diamond Mattress has grown into one of the largest and most respected mattress manufacturers in the United States.

Diamond Mattress is known for its high-quality, affordable mattresses. The company uses premium materials and construction methods to create mattresses that are designed to provide a good night’s sleep. Diamond Mattress also offers a wide variety of mattress types and styles to choose from, so sleepers can find the perfect mattress to meet their needs.

Diamond Mattress mattresses are sold at retailers nationwide, as well as on the company’s website. The company also offers a variety of other sleep products, including pillows, sheets, and bed frames.

Here are some of the key milestones in the history of Diamond Mattress:

  • 1946: Diamond Mattress is founded by Lou and Max Diamond in Los Angeles, California.
  • 1950s: Diamond Mattress begins to expand its operations, opening new factories and retail locations.
  • 1960s: Diamond Mattress introduces a new line of mattresses made with innerspring coils.

  • 1980s: Diamond Mattress begins to sell its mattresses online.
  • 1990s: Diamond Mattress expands its product line to include pillows, sheets, and bed frames.
  • 2000s: Diamond Mattress continues to grow and innovate, offering new and improved mattress technologies.

Today, Diamond Mattress is one of the most trusted and respected mattress brands in the country. The company is committed to providing its customers with the best possible sleep experience, and its products are backed by a satisfaction guarantee.

I recently received a free GIFT. That is, Diamond Mattress sent me their newest line of mattresses named, Grateful, Intention, Faith and Transformation. Each has a distinct construction and feel. On top of that, each model comes in a soft, medium and firm so you can get the correct amount of support for your weight and sleep position. Diamond mattresses are made in their factory in Los Angeles which means more value for you. These mattresses come with a 120-night trial where you can sleep on them for that many nights and if you aren’t happy, it’s a free return. If you end up keeping your mattress, you are backed by their forever warranty.

For this review, I received all medium firmness models to be consistent with my findings. The Grateful mattress is the entry level model coming in at $999 for a queen while the Transformation is $1,699 in a queen size.

Overview of the Diamond Mattress Series

Ordering Your Diamond Mattress

Since you are ordering factory direct and these mattresses are made in the USA, your order will come quick. Expect to receive it in 5 business days or sooner. It will come shipped to your doorstep in a box like the one below. I don’t normally comment on boxes but this one looks nice and didn’t come all banged up.

Diamond Mattress Box

The mattress comes to life rather quickly but I would wait a good 7-8 hours before sleeping on it to let it breathe. Here’s what it looks like out of the box.

Diamon Mattress

In addition to a mattress, you also get some fun accessories.

Construction of the Diamond Mattresses

These mattresses each take a different approach to comfort and therefore had a distinct feel. However, all are classified as a hybrid mattress meaning they are made with foam and coils. Diamond uses a patented pocket coil system to give you pressure relief and support where you need it most all while minimizing motion transfer. All 4 models measure 10 inches deep.

Grateful Mattress Construction

Gratefull mattress

  • The Grateful is made with the following materials
  • Stretchable knit fabric cover
  • Pressure relieving gel foam
  • Patented coil system
  • Foam encase edge support

Grateful Inside

Here’s what the inside of the Grateful looks like where you can see the layers.

Grateful Mattress Construction

Intention Mattress Construction

Intention Mattress

The Intention mattress differs from the Grateful in that they use a layer of convoluted foam beneath the stretch knit fabric. The foam is made with graphene which helps dissipate heat. The Convoluted layers create peaks and valleys that allow help air flow out of the mattress.

Intention Mattress Construction

Here’s what it looks like inside. I am pulling apart the border foam to show some of the coil system underneath.

Intention Mattress Construction

Faith Mattress Construction

Faithful Mattress

The Faith mattress introduces phase-change fabric to the cover which is a material that is cool to the touch and helps dissipate heat. Instead of a convoluted layer of Diamond Sparkle Foam, you get a solid layer which cradles you a bit more while still keeping you cool.

Faith Mattress Construction

Here’s a look at the inside of the Faithful mattress. Again, not too much deviation from the Intention but you do get more material along with the phase chance cover.

Faithful mattress

Transformation Mattress Construction

Transformation Mattress

The Transformation has the same type of phase change cover that the Faith has as well as graphene foam underneath. Below that, you get over 1,000 micro-coils that provide faster recovery and better contouring. While the coils don’t seem to provide much benefit individually, as you lay across the mattress you will notice a subtle difference between this mattress and the Faith.

Here’s a look at the inside of the Transformation where you can see the layer of micro-coils.

My Diamond Mattress Recommendation

Diamond has really made a statement with this selection of mattresses. They have something for every budget and feel. I appreciate that they let you choose a mattress based on construction then choose firmness rather than forcing you into a specific construction based on firmness preference. All of the models are made with superior edge support. Some mattresses will try and achieve this through firmer coils around the perimeter but I found the foam used in these mattresses to work better.  Since you can choose 3 firmness levels for each of the 4 models, it can get confusing quickly. To make your decision easy, Diamond created a mattress selector tool that will make a recommendation based on your needs. I found it to be spot on with my preference.

I strongly recommend purchasing a Diamond mattress if you want a hybrid mattress that incorporates the best materials on the market. The Transformation mattress has a very unique feel and the micro coil system provides next level contouring making it an excellent choice for sleepers that want the most pressure relief without sacrificing support.

  • 100-night sleep trial and 10-year warranty

Cons of the Ecosa mattress:

  • Some customers have found the mattress to be too firm or too soft
  • The mattress can be heavy and difficult to move

Overall, the Ecosa mattress is a good option to consider if you are looking for a comfortable and supportive memory foam mattress. It comes with a sleep trial and warranty, so you can try it risk-free.

The Ecosa mattress is a 3 in 1 mattress where you get 3 levels of firmness by unzipping and flipping the inside layers. It’s easy to do and gives your mattress added versatility for when you want to go softer or firmer depending on how your body feels. There are now a fair amount of customizable mattresses on the market but the Ecosa is an affordable option that has a unique feel that should appeal particularly well to stomach and back sleepers.

Construction of the Ecosa Mattress

Below is a nice graphic created by Ecosa to show how their mattress is made. What stands out with the Ecosa among some of the other brands is that it has a waterproof inner cover that keeps the mattress clean so really you don’t need to use a mattress protector. You can clean the outer cover of the mattress by just unzipping it.

This is a 3 in 1 mattress. To illustrate how easy it is to adjust, take a look at the video I made showing how to configure the mattress. You will also get a look at the inside of the mattress including the waterproof inner cover.

Also, the bottom of the mattress has little dots that help the mattress stay put on your bed.

zipper ecosaSince this mattress can be configured 3 ways it’s best to show you what you can expect with each firmness level.

First off is the G-7 memory foam layer which is the blue color foam on top. This is actually 1 of 2 medium firm options. Ecosa doesn’t have a soft option. Of the two medium options, I found this one to be just a little softer.

Next up is the ECO-Tex Layer which is basically the other side of the G-7 layer. This is also a medium firmness. You can’t really tell by the pictures but I felt like I sunk in just a little more with the G-7 layer.

Last is the Ergonomic HD Breathable Support Layer. This is the firmest of the 3 by far and probably best suited to stomach sleepers. As you can see the ball just rests on top of this layer.

You can also see with the firm layer that there are channels cut into it. This helps with breathability.

The video below shows how each layer reacts.

Here are some quick videos showing motion transfer on each layer. Basically I didn’t find any issues at all with motion transfer being an all foam mattress.

Here’s the HD Breathable Support Layer

Here’s the G-7 Layer

And this is the ECO-Tex Layer

My Ecosa Recommendation

If you are looking for a firm mattress with no motion transfer that sleeps cool and can be adjusted, this mattress is right for you. The G-7 and Eco-Tex layers are still firmer than most of the medium firm mattresses I have reviewed and the HD layer is definitely firm. I really like the built-in mattress protector underneath the cover. No need to buy a mattress protector. I highly recommend this mattress to stomach and back sleepers that like a firm mattress or anyone that likes a firm mattress with no motion transfer.

Cons:

The Metta Bed mattress is a 2 layer natural latex mattress that comes rolled up in a box. This mattress comes in 3 comfort levels, plush, medium and firm. For this review, I received a free queen size plush version. The Metta Bed company was established by the owners of Oganic Mattresses, Inc. (OMI) which is a leading organic mattress brand in America.  These mattresses are made in the USA in the same facility as OMI mattresses are made. This mattress comes with a 120-night comfort guarantee and a 20-year warranty.

Overview of the Metta Bed

Here’s a quick overview of the Metta Bed. In this video, I cover the highlights of the bed and how it compares to other natural mattresses I have reviewed.

Construction of the Metta Bed

Below are some of the construction highlights of this mattress as listed on their website. As you can see in the picture below the have the GOLS label which stands for Global Organic Latex Standard.

Metta Bed Gols

The premium latex used in the Metta Bed mattress is minimally processed and is at least 95% pure – free from many of the synthetic “fillers” used in most other latex products that claim to be “all natural.”

Our unbleached, GOTS certified organic cotton fabrics are made from the highest quality, Texas-grown, organic cotton fiber available, and are never chemically treated.

The GOTS certified organic wool used in the Metta Bed collection of products is sourced from New Zealand, where family and commercial farmers adhere to strict standards in order to assure the certified purity of their fibers. Organic pastures and grazing grounds, minimal processing and humane shearing practices (along with other requirements) contribute to the organic standard, to which our wool is certified.

GREENGUARD Gold certification means our products meet UL’s highest standard for low emissions, VOCs and pollutants, to help ensure indoor air quality and contribute to a healthy home environment. Our products even qualify for LEED credits, and are certified safe for use in schools and for children.

The cotton and wool fibers, fabrics and threads used in the Metta Bed mattress, as well as our complete collection of bedding accessories are certified organic to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). The aim of this stringent standard is to define requirements that ensure the organic status of textiles in order to ultimately provide credible organic assurance to you – the end customer.

My Metta Bed Findings

This mattress comes rolled in a box and there is no assembly required. Typically with a latex mattress, the cover and latex layers are separate and need to be put together. With the Metta Bed, the layers are already zipped in the cover so when you unbox the mattress it is ready to sleep on right away. And when I mean right away, I mean immediately. Latex recovers instantly and there is no need to wait for the mattress to decompress.

You will notice a slight wool smell but rest assured its natural wool and there is nothing toxic that you are breathing. The smell will dissipate over a few days and go away completely.

Here’s a picture of the cover of the mattress which is made with organic cotton. It’s nice that the mattress is natural throughout.

metta bed organic cotton cover

Below is a picture of my 14 lb. bowling ball on the mattress. There is some sink here but not as much as a pillow top mattress. So, being a plush mattress it stil skews a bit firm.

Metta Bed Sinkage

The video below shows how much motion transfer to expect with this mattress. Since there are only 2 layers of latex the mattress doesn’t compress down as far as a 3 layer would and therefore isn’t as springy. In general, latex mattresses don’t really have much motion transfer and behave similar to memory foam but because they recover faster than foam they are easier to move around on.

The video below shows how the latex layers react. I found them to be very soft. The cover of the mattress will dampen the contouring of the latex.

My Metta Bed Recommendation

If you’re looking for an affordable, all natural mattress, the Metta Bed is an excellent choice.

My Pillow, famous for their unique feeling foam pillow now has a mattress for purchase. In fact, the base layer of foam used in the mattress is the same foam used in their pillow. What struck me about this mattress is that when I first laid down, I thought there were springs in it because of the good support and pressure relief. Instead, it’s multiple layers of resilient foam put together in a unique way to provide a one of a kind feel.  This mattress comes shipped in a box directly to your house and is Made in the USA.

Similar to the My Pillow it has a one-of-a-kind feel that is sure to set it apart from the pack which is why you should take it into consideration. The foam used is breathable resilient so you will adjust in no time. at 10 inches thick it accommodates all types of sheets and is light enough to easily transport.

Overview of the MyPillow Mattress

Before we dive into the specifics of the My Pillow Mattress, let’s take a look at what sets it apart from other mattresses on the market. The My Pillow Mattress is designed with several layers of foam, each serving a different purpose. The top layer is a soft, cooling foam that provides comfort and temperature regulation, while the middle layer is a firmer foam that offers support and pressure relief. Finally, the base layer is made of high-density foam that provides overall stability and durability.

One of the standout features of the My Pillow Mattress is its ability to customize the firmness level to your liking. You can choose from four different firmness options – yellow, white, green, or blue – depending on your sleep preferences. The yellow is the softest option and is best for side sleepers, while the blue is the firmest and is ideal for stomach sleepers. The white and green options fall somewhere in between, offering a balance of support and comfort.

In addition to its layer and firmness customization, the My Pillow Mattress also boasts a removable, machine-washable cover for easy maintenance. This is especially useful for those who suffer from allergies or have pets that sleep on the bed.

Overall, the My Pillow Mattress appears to be a well-designed sleep solution with a lot of customization options. But how does it actually feel to sleep on? Let’s find out.

Here’s a video overview

I personally tested out the My Pillow Mattress in the white firmness level, which is a medium level of support. When I first laid down on the mattress, I immediately noticed how comfortable it felt. The top layer of foam provided a soft, plush feeling while still feeling supportive. As I settled in, I could feel the firmer layer beneath me providing a nice level of support without feeling too hard.

One of the things I appreciated about the My Pillow Mattress was how it seemed to alleviate pressure points. I tend to sleep on my side, and sometimes wake up with sore hips or shoulders. However, with this mattress, I didn’t experience any of that discomfort. The foam seemed to contour to my body and provide support in all the right places.

In terms of temperature regulation, I found that the My Pillow Mattress did a decent job of keeping me cool throughout the night. I tend to run hot when I sleep, so I appreciated the cooling top layer of foam. However, on particularly warm nights, I did find myself getting a bit too warm, despite the mattress’s cooling properties.

As for durability, it’s too early to say for sure how well the My Pillow Mattress will hold up over time. However, I didn’t notice any signs of wear or tear during my testing period. The foam seemed to bounce back to its original shape after each night’s sleep.

So, is the My Pillow Mattress worth the investment? I would say yes, especially if you’re someone who values customization and pressure point relief. While it may be pricier than some other mattresses on the market, its ability to customize to your sleep needs and alleviate pressure points makes it a worthwhile investment.

How Much Does the My Pillow Mattress Cost?

When it comes to value, the My Pillow Mattress is priced in the mid to high range compared to other mattresses on the market. However, considering its customization options, pressure point relief, and durability, I believe it’s a good value for the price.

Here are the retail prices and price after discount as listed on their website. You can use the My Pillow Mattress promo code BED100 at checkout for the $100 off.

Construction of the My Pillow Mattress

Here’s a photo of the inside of the My Pillow mattress where you can see each layer of foam. With the multiple layers of foam, you get good transition into the mattress so it doesn’t feel like you are just sleeping on one piece of foam but a legit mattress.

  • Layer 1

Quilted MyPillow QDS® Fabric Cover

This special comfort finish is soft and cooling. It is also quick-drying and stain-resistant.

  • Layer 2

High Airflow Comfort Foam

Provides maximum airflow to keep your body at a comfortable temperature throughout the night. It has 4.5x more airflow and is 3X more moisture-wicking than traditional foam.

  • Layer 3

Extra Soft Comfort Foam Transition Layer

This layer is made up of plush, extra-soft high density foam.

  • Layer 4

Plush Transitional Comfort Foam

Second layer with firmer transitional foam to increase the overall performance of the mattress.

  • Layer 5

Supportive Base Foam Layer

The same foam used in all MyPillow® products creates the perfect supportive base that reinforces and stabilizes the mattress.

My Pillow Mattress Findings

This is a very versatile mattress and would be suitable for all sleepers. One caveat is that I wouldn’t recommend it for heavy sleepers and I think it may lack the support needed. If you are over around 220 lbs, you may want to consider looking at a mattress with denser foam or low gauge coils. However, if you are lighter, this is a great mattress for side back and stomach sleepers although I think that side and back sleepers, in particular, will be most pleased.

I love how this mattress cradles me quickly and is easy to move around on. It has a more traditional feel and doesn’t feel like your a sleeping on foam at all. And, because it’s all foam there’s basically no motion transfer either.

The My Pillow Mattress Recommendation

If you are a fan of My Pillow I think you should definitely give their mattress a try. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this mattress. It comes with a 120-day guarantee with free returns if you don’t like the mattress within that time period and comes shipped in a box right to your house so no need to wait for a delivery.

MyPillow mattress complaints you might find online:

  • Initial Odor: Some reviews mention a chemical-like odor upon unboxing, a common issue with foam-based mattresses. This typically dissipates within a few days.
  • Heat Retention: Some users report that the MyPillow mattress traps heat, which can be a problem for hot sleepers.

  • Aggressive Marketing: Many consumers find MyPillow’s marketing and advertising tactics to be overly pushy and off-putting.

Important Considerations

  • Individual Experiences: Reviews are subjective, and one person’s negative experience doesn’t guarantee you’ll have the same issue.
  • Verified Reviews: Pay attention to reviews from verified buyers on reputable websites for a more realistic picture.
  • Company Response: It’s worth looking at how MyPillow responds to complaints. Do they address issues and provide solutions?

My Pillow Controversies

My Pillow, the company known for its pillows and bedding products, has been surrounded by controversy in recent years. The founder and CEO, Mike Lindell, has been an outspoken supporter of former President Donald Trump and has made controversial statements about the 2020 U.S. Presidential election. These statements have led to backlash from some customers and retailers who have dropped the brand from their stores.

In addition to the controversy surrounding Lindell’s political views, My Pillow has also faced criticism for its advertising practices. In 2016, the company settled a lawsuit with the Better Business Bureau over its advertising claims. The lawsuit alleged that My Pillow had falsely advertised its products as being able to cure a variety of medical conditions, such as sleep apnea and fibromyalgia.

More recently, My Pillow has faced criticism for its claims about the effectiveness of its products in preventing and treating COVID-19. Lindell has made numerous claims about the effectiveness of My Pillow products in combating the virus, despite a lack of scientific evidence to support these claims.

Overall, the controversy surrounding My Pillow has raised questions about the company’s business practices and the credibility of its claims about its products. While the company’s pillows and bedding products may be of high quality, its association with controversial statements and advertising claims has led some customers to question whether they want to support the brand.

My Pillow vs. Nectar Premier

The My Pillow Mattress is designed with several layers of foam, each serving a different purpose. Its customization options make it a great choice for those who have specific sleep needs. In contrast, the Nectar Premier is made with memory foam and gel-infused foam layers, designed to provide both support and cooling.

In terms of firmness, the My Pillow Mattress offers four different options to choose from, while the Nectar Premier is available in one universal firmness level. The My Pillow Mattress’s customization options may be a selling point for those who prefer a specific level of support.

Both mattresses offer pressure point relief, but the Nectar Premier is specifically designed to alleviate pressure on the hips and shoulders, making it a great option for side sleepers. The My Pillow Mattress does a decent job of relieving pressure points, but its primary focus is on customization and overall support.

When it comes to durability, both mattresses are designed to last. However, the Nectar Premier offers a longer warranty period of lifetime, compared to the My Pillow Mattress’s 10-year warranty.

In terms of price, the Nectar Premier is priced in the mid to high range, while the My Pillow Mattress falls in the high range. However, the My Pillow Mattress’s customization options may make it a worthwhile investment for those who value a specific level of support.

Ultimately, choosing between the My Pillow Mattress and the Nectar Premier will come down to personal preference. If you prioritize customization and overall support, the My Pillow Mattress may be the right choice for you. If you’re a side sleeper and prioritize pressure point relief, the Nectar Premier may be the better option. Regardless of which mattress you choose, both offer quality construction and a comfortable night’s sleep.

The My Pillow 2.0

The MyPillow 2.0 is a pillow that was designed by Mike Lindell. It is made with a special type of foam that is supposed to provide support and comfort. The MyPillow 2.0 is also supposed to be hypoallergenic and to help with sleep apnea.

The MyPillow 2.0 has been advertised on TV and in newspapers. It has also been endorsed by several celebrities.

Some people have praised the MyPillow 2.0 for its comfort and support. Others have said that it is too expensive. Still others have said that it is not as effective as it is advertised to be.

If you are interested in trying the MyPillow 2.0, you can order it online or from a MyPillow retailer.

Let’s break down the unique characteristics and offerings of the MyPillow line, specifically focusing on the MyPillow Classic:

Firmness Levels

  • Not One-Size-Fits-All: MyPillow doesn’t use a traditional firmness scale. Instead, they offer four different fill levels (yellow, white, green, blue) vaguely corresponding to soft, medium-soft, medium-firm, and firm.
  • Customization: The key idea is that you can remove or add fill to adjust the firmness to your liking. This can be trial and error.

Materials

  • Interlocking Poly Foam Fill: MyPillow uses shredded polyurethane foam cut into puzzle-like pieces designed to interlock, which is intended to prevent clumping and shifting.
  • Cotton Cover: The pillow comes with a simple cotton cover.

Care Instructions

  • Machine Washable & Dryable: A significant benefit is that the entire pillow (both cover and fill) is machine washable and can be tossed in the dryer.
  • Durability: While convenient, frequent washing can potentially break down the foam fill over time.

Things to Note About MyPillow

  • Marketing vs. Reality: MyPillow’s marketing can be rather hyped, claiming it’s the “most comfortable pillow you’ll ever own”. Individual experiences vary greatly.
  • Fill Shift: While the interlocking fill aims to limit it, some users still report filling shifting to an extent over time.
  • Not for Everyone: The MyPillow may not suit all sleepers. Those who prefer a solid memory foam feel or precisely designed down pillows may not find it ideal.

Here’s a breakdown of the similarities between MyPillow and Sleepgram pillows, with a focus on features that might appeal to combination sleepers:

Similarities

  • Adjustability: Both MyPillow and Sleepgram offer some level of customization. MyPillow’s shredded fill lets you take out or add foam, while Sleepgram has a removable inner pillow for loft adjustment. This is helpful for combo sleepers who change positions and need varying support levels throughout the night.

  • Machine Washable: A convenient feature for those who want an easily maintained pillow, making both options suitable for combo sleepers who move around and might sweat more in different positions.

  • Affordability: Both brands stay within a relatively budget-friendly price range compared to some premium pillows on the market.

  • Fluffy Feels: While not identical, both pillows have a fluffy, somewhat pliable feel due to their fill materials (shredded foam in MyPillow vs. down alternative in Sleepgram). However, Sleepgram’s down alternative might feel a tad softer than the MyPillow.

Key Differences to Consider

  • Support: Sleepgram may offer slightly more contoured support due to its inner pillow design, potentially better for side sleepers within a combination sleeping pattern.
  • Temperature Regulation: Sleepgram’s down-alternative fill tends to be more breathable than shredded foam, potentially making it cooler for hot sleepers.
  • Response Time: The Sleepgram’s down-alternative fill has a quicker bounce-back than MyPillow’s foam, making it somewhat more responsive to movement (helpful for combo sleepers).

Bottom Line

Both MyPillow and Sleepgram offer adjustable features and easy maintenance, which can be positives for combination sleepers. However, Sleepgram may provide more targeted support and a slightly cooler sleep experience.

Recommendations

  • Read Reviews: Look into reviews specifically from verified combination sleepers to get a sense of how each pillow has performed for them.
  • Consider Trial Periods: Many brands offer sleep trials to test the pillows out at home – a great option for figuring out what works for your unique sleep style.

Here’s a breakdown of how Casper and MyPillow compare in terms of cooling, fill material, and distribution:

Cooling Features

  • Casper: Casper pillows often prioritize breathability. They use open-cell foam, which is designed to allow air flow, plus a breathable cover made from cotton or other airy fabrics. Some models may even feature dedicated cooling technologies.
  • MyPillow: MyPillow’s shredded foam fill can trap some heat, making it less ideal for hot sleepers. While machine washable, the foam itself doesn’t have specific cooling properties.

Fill Material

  • Casper: Casper offers a range of fill options:
    • Foam: Their foam pillows may use a solid memory foam core or shredded foam for a more adaptable feel.
    • Down: Some Casper models feature a supportive down core with fluffy down-alternative fibers for softness.
    • Hybrid: They may combine foam and/or down for a balance of support and plushness.
  • MyPillow: MyPillow exclusively utilizes shredded, interlocking polyurethane foam.

Distribution

  • Casper: Casper pillows can be found:
    • Casper Website: Directly on their website.
    • Retail Stores: At various mattress and department stores nationwide.
    • Online Retailers: On platforms like Amazon.
  • MyPillow:
    • MyPillow Website: Primarily through their website.
    • Infomercials: Heavily advertised on TV infomercials
    • Limited Retail: Some availability in select retail locations.

Which Might Be Better?

  • Hot Sleepers: Casper generally offers a better choice for those seeking temperature regulation.
  • Preference for Foam: Casper has numerous foam options, while MyPillow is focused on one type of shredded foam.
  • Easy Access: Casper is more widely available in stores for those who like to try before buying.

MyPillow uses a color-coded system to differentiate its fill levels. Here’s how they generally compare in terms of comfort and support:

  • Yellow (Softest):

    • Comfort: Extra plush and fluffy, designed to sink into.
    • Support: Minimal, offers the least amount of neck and spinal support.
    • Best for: Stomach sleepers, petite individuals, those used to down/feather pillows.
  • White (Medium-Soft):

    • Comfort: A balance between plushness and support.
    • Support: Offers some level of support for head and neck, but still on the softer side.
    • Best for: Back sleepers, average size individuals, those who like a bit of sink.
  • Green (Medium-Firm):

    • Comfort: Less plush, provides a firmer feel.
    • Support: Offers more noticeable support for the neck and head.
    • Best for: Side sleepers, those needing more structure, heavier individuals.
  • Blue (Firmest):

    • Comfort: Least amount of “give”, provides the most solid feel.
    • Support: Maximum support, maintains head and neck alignment.
    • Best for: Larger body types, those with neck pain needing substantial support.

My Silk Symphony Findings

I first tried the soft side of the mattress and that’s the side I like best. Here’s a picture with my bowling ball that illustrates how much sinkage you can expect. The bowling ball weighs 14 lbs.

Here’s the same bowling ball on the firm side of the mattress where you will notice it doesn’t sink much at all.

I unzipped the cover to see how it was constructed.

Silk symphony layers

Here’s a picture of the layers.

This video will how each layer reacts. In this video the top layer is the soft side. The bottom layer is the firm side.

To give you an even better idea of how this mattress feels, here’s a video that illustrates motion transfer on the mattress.

Here’s a video showing how fast heat dissipates from the top of the mattress. I found this mattress to sleep fairly cool for being all foam.

My Silk Symphony Recommendation

The Silk Symphony is an excellent mattress for people who want an initial plush feel but want really good support. Although it looks like you can really sink into this mattress, I found that it gives great support and will sleep cool. This is the first mattress I tried where there is silk blended into the cover. I’m not sure how much silk is used compared to other material but it definitely has a silky smooth feel and silk is great for regulating temperature as anyone with a silk comforter can tell you.

The Silk Symphony is on the pricier end of the spectrum at \$1,599 for a queen size however it is two-sided and you get two comfort levels built in so it would make a great mattress for guests.

Also, because it has two firmness options, It is great for all sleep types.

Bottom line

The Pillow Cube Mattress Deluxe is an innovative memory foam mattress specifically engineered for side sleepers, featuring a three-layer construction for targeted support and spinal alignment. It prevents common discomforts like shoulder, neck, and back pain, making it ideal for those seeking pressure relief and proper posture. While exceptional for side sleepers, others may not benefit as much from its specialized design.

Yawnder verdictTargeted support for side sleepers · 4.8/5

The Pillow Cube mattress is a hybrid mattress that is designed to be especially comfortable for side sleepers. It has the following main features:

  • Zoned support: The mattress is divided into three zones, each of which provides different levels of support for the head, shoulders, and hips. This helps to keep the spine aligned and reduce pressure points.
  • Premium memory foam: The mattress uses a high-quality memory foam that is both soft and supportive. This helps to cradle the body and prevent it from sinking in too deeply.
  • Breathable cover: The mattress cover is made of a breathable fabric that helps to keep you cool and comfortable all night long.

Other features of the Pillow Cube mattress include:

  • Edge support: The mattress has reinforced edges that prevent sagging and provide support even when you’re sleeping on the edge of the bed.
  • Motion isolation: The mattress is designed to isolate motion, so that you won’t be disturbed by your partner moving around in bed.
  • Hypoallergenic: The mattress is hypoallergenic and resistant to dust mites and mold.

Overall, the Pillow Cube mattress is a good choice for side sleepers who are looking for a mattress that is both comfortable and supportive. It is also a good choice for couples who want a mattress that can isolate motion.

If you are a side sleeper and constantly flip from one side to the other during the night, pay attention. Pillow Cube, known for their odd shaped but surprisingly effective side sleeping pillow, now has a mattress designed exclusively for side sleepers, the Pillow Cube Mattress. This mattress takes all the innovative parts of the cube pillow and incorporates them into a mattress that supports your hips but sinks in at your shoulders. Below are my findings.

Ordering Your Cube Pillow Mattress

Chances are you are searching for this mattress because you enjoy the cube pillow. If you aren’t familiar with the Cube PIllow, then I strongly suggest trying one out along with the mattress to see what the heck you have been missing out on.

Pillow cube mattress beneifits

It’s not uncommon to find a zoned coil system these days but the the pillow cube has created a mattress that will give you that extra sink in your shoulder so you aren’t constantly flipping around all night trying to get comfortable again.

Construction of the Pillow Cube Mattress

The Pillow Cube mattress is a hybrid mattress, meaning that it is made with a combination of coils and foam. It has a three-layer construction, as follows:

  • Top layer: The top layer of the mattress is made of a premium memory foam. This layer is soft and conforming, but it is also supportive enough to keep your spine aligned.
  • Middle layer: The middle layer of the mattress is made of a high-density foam. This layer provides additional support and helps to distribute your weight evenly.
  • Bottom layer: The bottom layer of the mattress is made of a coil support system. This layer provides durability and stability, and it also helps to prevent sagging.

The Pillow Cube mattress also has a breathable cover that helps to keep you cool and comfortable all night long.

The mattress is constructed in a way that maximizes support and comfort for side sleepers. The top layer of memory foam cradles the shoulders and hips, while the middle layer of foam and the bottom layer of coils provide support for the rest of the body. This helps to keep the spine aligned and reduce pressure points.

The Pillow Cube mattress is also designed to isolate motion, so that you won’t be disturbed by your partner moving around in bed. This makes it a good choice for couples who sleep together.

Cube Pillow Mattress Construction

Imagine sleeping on a mattress as comfortable as the Cube Pillow. Well, wait no more! Most mattress brands try to appeal to all types of sleepers, Pillow Cube is lazer focused on side sleepers, which is btw, the healthiest sleep position. I really like that the there is a perimeter support around the side so you don’t feel like you will slide off. A cube true to its name.

My Pillow Cube Mattress Recommendation

Need more convincing? My biggest complaint about the hundreds of mattresses I have reviewed over the years is that they don’t adequately address shoulder issues. Despite my best efforts, I still can’t stay a dedicated side sleeper and often roll onto my stomach because my should hurts after about 2-3 hours.

The Pillow Cube Mattress solves this but you need to use both the Pillow Cube and the Mattress to get the full effect.

The tulo Mattress is a bed in a box offering from Mattress Firm. Tulo means “sleep” in the Chichewa language, a widely known language in the country of Malawi. It’s a catchy name that is easy to remember. The tulo comes in 3 different firmness options soft, medium and firm. For this review, I received a medium version. What really sets Tulo apart from the competition isn’t necessarily the construction of the mattress but the fact that you can try out the tulo at one of the thousands of Mattress Firm stores across the country.

Overview and Unboxing the tulo Mattress

Here’s a video overview of the mattress…

A queen size Tulo retails for $650. It comes compressed and roll packed in a box like the one below. As you can see, this box was a little damaged but the mattress wasn’t.

When you open the box you get a nice greeting from tulo and a letter opener. Over the years I have developed a nice collection of these.

Here’s a picture of the mattress right out of the box. Once you cut the plastic it will start taking in air quickly.

Tulo Mattress Unbox

One thing I noticed is that this mattress sprung into shape very quickly. I think that’s because it was manufactured recently. Mattresses that stay compressed in a box longer, take longer to recover but that wasn’t the case with the tulo.

My tulo Mattress Findings

This mattress skews a little towards the firmer end of the spectrum. I reviewed the medium firm and found it to be a little firm at first. However when you lay across it, you get great support and still get good pressure relief. This mattress is made in the USA and from what I can tell is top of the line foam. None of the corners are smushed together which means they didn’t over glue the pieces. It also was made recently and didn’t stay in a box for too long which also helps it take shape faster.

Here’s a picture of my bowling ball on the mattress to show you how much it sinks.

My tulo Recommendation

If you are new to the world of online mattresses, this is a great introduction. You can just head to your nearest Mattress Firm and try one out to see for yourself the value you can get with online brands. A queen size Tulo currently retails for $700 but now you can get one for $499.

Tempurpedic vs Tempflow (2026): Which Mattress Is Better?

Tempflow mattress review
Bottom line

Tempflow generally offers a more economical alternative to Tempurpedic, with competitive features and superior warranty terms. Tempflow is ideal for value-conscious consumers seeking advanced cooling technology and a longer trial period, while Tempurpedic suits those prioritizing widespread showroom accessibility and established brand recognition. Tempflow's innovative airflow system provides persistent cooling, addressinng a common memory foam concern.

Yawnder verdictExcellent value with advanced cooling · 4.8/5

Tempurpedic is arguably the most popular mattress brand in the United States and has the most name recognition. The name Tempurpedic and memory foam are almost synonymous. But lately, there has been an explosion of new online and store brands that aim to compete with Tempurpedic not only on price but also on feel. I have slept on hundreds of mattresses during my time as a mattress reviewer and I can get a good or bad impression of a mattress quickly, no pun intended.

In this review, I take a close look at the Tempflow brand and how it compares to Tempurpedic. I often don’t make many comparisons to Tempurpedic because it does have a unique feel, largely due to the quality. Both Tempurpedic and Tempflow offer different models and firmness levels for your sleep needs but where they seem to differ the most is price. Tempflow is on average at least a thousand dollars less than a Tempurpedic, all with a 120-night sleep trial and industry-leading, 40-year warranty.

Ordering the Tempurpedic vs. Tempflow

Both of these mattresses can be ordered online through their respective websites. They also are available to try in showrooms but Tempurpedic has the largest national footprint for showrooms. They can be demoed at any Mattress Firm location or other major sleep retailers. Tempflow has a showroom in Agoura Hills, CA, and may be available to try in other showrooms soon. Tempflow lists which of their models are comparable to the Tempurpedic mattresses on their website so you can try a Tempurpedic locally and order a comparable Tempflow online and take advantage of their 120-day trial.

How Much Does the Tempflow Cost in Comparison to Tempurpedic Models?

On average you will be paying considerably less for a Tempflow than a Tempurpedic. For example, the Tempflow Cloud is currently selling for $1,319 with a discount while the compatible Tempurpedic Cloud is selling for $1,399 after a discount. You really notice the savings though when you compare the higher-end models. For example, the Tempflow-Glacier Elite sells for $2,999 after discount while the comparable Tempur-Pro Breeze retails for $4,099 after discount.

In terms of the trial period, Tempflow is a 120-day trial while the Tempurpedic is 90 days, so you basically get an extra month to try out the Tempflow.

As for warranty, Tempflow is offering a 40-year warranty while Tempurpedic has a 10-year warranty.

My Tempurpedic vs Tempflow Findings

I was invited out to the Tempflow store to try out their mattress and they also had a comparable Tempurpedic so it was a perfect opportunity to see how they compare.

What sets Tempflow apart from all the other brands I have tried is that they have a patented cooling system where they create channels in the memory foam for heat to dissipate. This method in my opinion is superior to any phase change cooling technology because I find that the phase change cooling material only has a temporary effect and lasts for about 20 minutes or so before the mattress starts to heat up.

This is illustrated in the picture below.

THE DOCTOR’S TAKEIts very soft and quick reacting surface works rapidly in any environment to provide you with optimal pressure point reduction for the joints, while still supporting the back with its resilient lower layers. This hybrid mattress is perfect for those who want something between a memory foam and inner-spring design. You will still get a soft surface, but the Flex-Comfort layer makes this model more buoyant and therefore, perfect for those who do not like an overly plush mattress. With the most use of the stiffer/firmer HD Biogreen in the surface layers, greater depth of body penetration will occur, while still providing optimal support. This allows this mattress reduce pressure for the shoulders and hips, while suiting heavier individuals, back sleepers, and most back pain sufferers. The soft over thicker and firmer HD Biogreen surface gives a dimension of comfort, with the most optimal support. The stiffer base will work well for heavier individuals, back sleepers, and most back pain sufferers.

My Recommendation for a Tempflow vs. Tempurpedic.

Both the Tempflow and Tempurpedic are very high-quality mattresses. They use dense foam which means that it will contour better and last longer. With Tempurpedic being a household name, and a pioneer in the memory foam mattress category, they will always command a higher price point. Tempurpedic can be hard to beat on feel. Just keep in mind that in my opinion, Tempurpedic does skew a bit firmer than other mattresses on the market so even their, “soft” model may feel more like a medium.

I am a big fan of the Ventilated and Kool-Flow technology in the Tempflow mattresses and over the course of the night, it does a better job of dissipating heat than just about all other memory foam mattresses I have tried.

Given the Tempflow is on average less than comparable Tempurpedic models, and they have a generous 120 night trial period, I would be inclined to give the Tempflow a try if you are looking for a high-quality mattress with an industry-leading warranty and great customer service.

My Emma Mattress Findings

As you can see in the picture below the Emma mattress sinks quite a bit. It is even more pronounced as you add more weight. This makes it an ideal mattress for people that like to sink in the mattress and get maximum pressure relief.

Emma mattress sinkage

The video below illustrates motion transfer. Since it’s an all foam mattress, motion is contained. What I found interesting is that the top layer is very resilient and recovers almost instantly. This gives the mattress just a little bit of bounce.

The cover is made for optimal airflow. It is a zippered cover so is removable as well. There is venting along the side so air can dissipate from the top and sides. The cover also grips the mattress better than other covers I have tried. This gives it a solid feel. It also has handles form making it easier to rotate and transport the mattress.

Here’s how each layer of the mattress looks.

Here you can see more of the inside of the mattress and where the holes in the base layer are placed to provide better contouring for your shoulders.

The cover has handles stitched into the sides to make rotating and transporting easier.

My Emma Mattress Recommendation

Emma offers three different types of mattresses – the Emma Original, the Emma Hybrid, and the Emma Original Foam. Here is a breakdown of which mattress may be best for each sleeping position:

  1. Back sleepers: Back sleepers generally require a mattress that offers both support and comfort. The Emma Original and the Emma Hybrid mattresses are both good options for back sleepers. The Emma Original mattress offers a balanced medium-firm feel that supports the spine, while the Emma Hybrid offers additional support with pocket springs.
  2. Side sleepers: Side sleepers generally require a mattress that offers pressure relief and support for the shoulders and hips. The Emma Original and the Emma Hybrid mattresses can both work well for side sleepers, but the Emma Original Foam mattress may be the best option due to its softer, more contouring foam layers that help relieve pressure points.
  3. Stomach sleepers: Stomach sleepers generally require a mattress that offers firm support to prevent the hips from sinking too deeply into the mattress. The Emma Original and Emma Hybrid mattresses can both offer good support for stomach sleepers due to their firmer feel.
  4. Combination sleepers: Combination sleepers who move between sleeping positions may require a mattress that offers both support and flexibility. The Emma Hybrid mattress is a good option for combination sleepers due to its combination of foam and pocket springs that offer support and pressure relief while allowing for ease of movement.

Overall, the best Emma mattress for you will depend on your individual preferences and needs. However, the Emma Original and Emma Hybrid mattresses are both versatile options that can work well for a variety of sleeping positions.

I really enjoyed the feel of this mattress. You get a somewhat soft mattress without all the drawbacks. You get to sink into the Emma but it doesn’t sleep nearly as hot as other soft mattresses. I think that’s in large part to the open cell foam layer at the top and the design of the cover. I recommend this mattress for side and back and occasional stomach sleepers that want a soft mattress where you sink into it just a bit.

I found it very easy to change positions on this mattress and when you do, the mattress recovers quickly so you aren’t left with impressions. This mattress comes with a 100 night trial and a 10 year guarantee. If you aren’t happy with it during the 100 nights, returns are free as well.

Emma Mattress vs. Nectar

The Emma mattress and the Nectar mattress are both popular foam mattresses that are available in several countries. Here is a comparison of each model of Emma mattress to each model of Nectar mattress:

  1. Emma Original vs. Nectar Original: Both mattresses are made with memory foam and offer a medium-firm feel. The Emma Original has a more balanced feel with a top layer of breathable foam, while the Nectar Original has a thicker layer of memory foam and may feel slightly softer. Both mattresses offer good motion isolation and pressure relief, but the Emma Original may be a better option for those who sleep hot due to its breathable top layer.
  2. Emma Hybrid vs. Nectar Lush: Both mattresses combine foam and pocket springs for a balance of support and pressure relief. The Emma Hybrid has a thinner layer of memory foam and a firmer feel, while the Nectar Lush has a thicker layer of memory foam and a slightly softer feel. The Emma Hybrid may be a better option for those who prefer a firmer mattress and want more support, while the Nectar Lush may be better for those who want a softer feel and more contouring.
  3. Emma Original Foam vs. Nectar Memory Foam: Both mattresses are made entirely of foam and offer a soft, contouring feel. The Emma Original Foam has a slightly firmer feel than the Nectar Memory Foam and may offer better support for back sleepers. The Nectar Memory Foam has a thicker top layer of memory foam and may be a better option for side sleepers who need more pressure relief.

Overall, both Emma and Nectar offer high-quality foam mattresses that can provide good support and comfort for a variety of sleeping positions. The main differences between the two brands come down to the specific construction and feel of each mattress, so it’s important to choose the one that best suits your individual needs and preferences.

The 2920 mattress was an all-foam option known for its balanced feel, responsive comfort, and notably cool and breathable sleep experience. It was ideal for individuals who prioritized quick recovery and minimal motion transfer, particularly couples. While the manufacturer is no longer in business, its design offered good support and pressure relief.

The 2920 mattress is a 10-inch all-foam mattress that was made by 2920 Sleep. It was designed to provide pressure relief and support for all types of sleepers. The mattress had three layers of foam: a soft top layer, a firmer middle layer, and a dense base layer.

The top layer of the 2920 mattress was made of a proprietary foam called “Micro Air Coil Foam.” This foam was designed to be soft and responsive, while also providing pressure relief. The middle layer of the mattress was made of a denser foam that provided support for the spine. The base layer of the mattress was made of the densest foam, which provided stability and durability.

The 2920 mattress was available in a variety of sizes, including twin, twin XL, full, queen, king, and California king. It was also backed by a 365-night sleep trial and a forever warranty.

However, 2920 Sleep is no longer in business, so the 2920 mattress is no longer available. If you are looking for a mattress that is similar to the 2920 mattress, you may want to consider the following options:

  • The Level Sleep mattress is a 10-inch all-foam mattress that has three zones of support. It is designed to provide pressure relief and support for all types of sleepers.
  • The Nectar mattress is a 12-inch all-foam mattress that has five layers of foam. It is designed to be soft and supportive, while also providing pressure relief.
  • The Tuft & Needle mattress is a 10-inch all-foam mattress that has two layers of foam. It is designed to be soft and responsive, while also providing support for the spine.

The 2920 mattress is a responsive memory foam mattress that is breathable and supportive. Although this is isn’t the cheapest mattress on the market, coming in at $995 for a queen, it is a quality build and should appeal to most sleepers making it a great choice for couples with different firmness preferences.

Overview of the 2920 Mattress

The 2920 mattress can be ordered direct from their website. It will arrive in about a week after ordering and comes with a 100-night free trial. All this is fairly standard for an online mattress company. It is also made in the USA.

Here’s a video of me on the 2290 mattress. It sort of reminds me of the Leesa mattress but just felt a little more substantial.

2920 Mattress Construction

The 2920 mattress is 10 inches in depth with the following layers.

2″ inch layer of gel foam

1″ layer of support/transition foam

5.5″ support layer

1.5″ base layer

2920 mattress details

Here’s a look at the inside of the mattress and the layers.

2920 Mattress Construction

2920 Mattress Findings

You’ll see that the 2920 has a little bit of bounce but not much motion transfer. I’ll attribute this to the 1″ support and comfort layer which is a foam/latex blend. It gives the mattress quicker recovery without sacrificing pressure relief.

Below is a video I shot with my thermal camera. This mattress sleeps fairly cool for an all foam mattress. The top layers of foam aren’t that dense which provides some breathability. I also attribute this to the stretch knit cover. In terms of how this compares to other mattresses with similar construction, I would say it is about average for heat retention. It will definitely sleep cooler than denser foam mattresses such as the Nectar and Cocoon.

Below is a video that shows how each layer of the 2920 mattress will react. As you can see in the video every layer of this mattress recovers quickly. The top layer is the slowest to recover but even that bounces back fast. This means that this mattress is easy to mover around on but you will sacrifice some pressure relief. I have found that denser foam mattresses will contour better and provide better pressure relief but a mattress like this is more breathable and easier to switch positions. There’s always some tradeoff depending on which material you go with and you just need to understand what you sleep priorities are.

My 2920 Mattress Recommendation

2920 isn’t the first and definitely won’t be the last online mattress offering. However it does offer another choice for consumers. For context, if you are looking for a mattress that recovers quick, sleeps cool for a foam bed and has minimal motion transfer, this would be a good choice. I found it to be a little firmer than the Leesa but softer than the firm version of the Cocoon mattress.

Aside from the mattress, 2920 also offers sheets and pillows. The sheets are made with organic cotton and are a 300 thread count.

2920 sheets

The pillows look amazing as they are made with natural latex and have a knit cover.

Frequently Asked Questions About 2920 Mattress: The Must-Have Choice for Cool Sleepers

Is the 2920 Mattress a good choice for hot sleepers?

Yes, the 2920 Mattress is considered a good option for hot sleepers due to its innovative design that allows for sufficient airflow in its all-foam construction. Its softer top layer and breathable stretch knit cover work together to prevent overheating, making it comparable to or better than other all-foam mattresses in terms of temperature regulation.

Who is the 2920 Mattress best for?

The 2920 Mattress is best for a variety of sleepers seeking pressure relief, spinal alignment, and a balanced feel, particularly couples. It offers minimal motion transfer and a responsive bounce, appealing to those who change positions frequently during the night.

How does the 2920 Mattress compare to the Nectar Mattress?

The 2920 Mattress is a 10-inch all-foam mattress focused on breathability and responsiveness, while the Nectar Mattress is a more substantial 12-inch all-foam option with five layers designed for a plush yet supportive feel. While both are all-foam, the 2920 may offer a slightly cooler sleep experience compared to the Nectar, which prioritizes softness.

What are the downsides of the 2920 Mattress?

One potential downside of the 2920 Mattress is that its quick bounce, while enhancing mobility, may slightly impact the pressure-relieving capabilities compared to denser foam alternatives. Additionally, the manufacturer, 2920 Sleep, is no longer in business, though the mattress itself remains a noteworthy option.

Is the 2920 Mattress good for couples?

Yes, the 2920 Mattress is an ideal choice for couples due to its minimal motion transfer. The sturdy high-density base layer effectively isolates movement, ensuring partners with different sleep preferences can rest undisturbed throughout the night.

The Studio by Leesa is a budget-friendly, all-foam mattress designed for comfort and support. Its durable construction and sustainable cover make it a strong value proposition.

  • Base layer: 7 inches of durable high-density foam that provides support and stability.

The Studio mattress also has a soft, breathable cover that is made with 100% recycled polyester.

The Studio mattress is available in a variety of sizes, including twin, twin XL, full, queen, king, and California king. It also comes with a 100-night trial and a 10-year warranty.

Pros:

  • Affordable price
  • Comfortable and supportive
  • Good for all sleep positions
  • Soft, breathable cover
  • 100-night trial and 10-year warranty

Cons:

  • Some people may find the mattress to be too soft
  • The mattress can retain heat
  • There is a slight off-gassing odor when the mattress is first opened, but this usually goes away after a few days or weeks

Overall, the Leesa Studio mattress is a good choice for sleepers who are looking for an affordable, comfortable, and supportive mattress.

I recently received the new budget-friendly mattress from Leesa called Studio by Leesa. This is a 3 layer foam mattress similar to the original Leesa. What sets it apart from the original Leesa mattress which is also a 3 layer foam construction is that it does not sink in as much. Therefore it is more suited to people who want a mattress that has less contouring. As more of a side sleeper myself, I found the Leesa a little too firm for my taste but I think it a wonderful mattress for back and stomach sleepers looking for a quality mattress that is made in the USA at a great price.

Overview of the Studio by Leesa Mattress

Here is a video review of the Leesa Studio. Unlike most foam mattresses this one sprang to life and was ready to sleep on almost immediately. I did notice some off-gassing which took a few days to dissipate so if you are sensitive to smells you probably should open this in another room to let it air out for a few days. Eventually, the smell will go away and won’t be an issue.

Construction of the Studio by Leesa mattress

Below are the construction details of the mattress as listed on the Leesa website.

How Does the Leesa Studio Compare to the Original Leesa Mattress?

Since both the Leesa and Leesa Studio are 3 layer foam mattresses, it’s easy to compare. I appreciate that Leesa includes the foam density of each layer. As you can see below, the Leesa Original has denser foam at the top and transitional layers which will make it more durable and provide better pressure relief. The Leesa studio has a half in less comfort and transitional foam and makes up the height with an extra inch in the base layer. This is how they have saved on cost and it does make for a different feel.

My Studio by Leesa Findings

As you can see below, this mattress doesn’t have all that much sink to it but since it is all foam, it didn’t feel overly firm either. For reference, this is a 14 lb. bowling ball.

studio by leesa sink

Here you can see that I’m not sinking in all that much while on my side. My shoulders give in a bit but my hips don’t sink much at all. Some sleepers really appreciate this and I would advise having a pillow thick enough to make up for the lack of sinkage at your shoulders.

side sleeping studio by leesa

If you sleep on your back or stomach, this mattress is a good choice. As you can see I’m fully supported.

back sleeping studio by leesa

My Studio By Leesa Recommendation

All too often I will find a mattress that is really good value and then the company will gradually increase the price as they get name recognition in the industry. That shouldn’t be the case with this mattress as Leesa is a well established online brand and they intentionally designed a mattress that has inherent value at an aggressive price that won’t compete with the original model.  I highly recommend this mattress to back and stomach sleepers looking for a mattress with no motion transfer that may be new to sleeping on foam. It won’t break the bank and it’s relatively light so won’t break your back either if you have to move it down the road. The Studio by Leesa comes with a 100-night trial and 10-year warranty. That means free delivery, free returns and a full refund if you don’t like it. On top of that Leesa donates a new mattress to a child in need for every 10 that they sell. There are hundreds of 3 layer foam mattresses on the market these days and it’s nice to know that you are doing a little bit of good while making your purchase.

Update: The Nectar Lush has been discontinued. Check out our updated Nectar Mattress Review here.

The Nectar mattress is one of the most popular and highly rated online mattress brands. It gets top marks among all the best mattress review sites because it is so accomodating to different types of sleepers and is a great value especially if you factor in their 365-night trial and Forever Warranty. But what if you crave a mattress that is super soft and cradles you to offer the ultimate in pressure relief? That’s where the Nectar Lush comes in. I received a free queen size Nectar Lush for review to see for myself how it compares. This mattress is designed to give you a feeling like you are being hugged and cradled. Other brands now have a luxury offering but it may not always be the upgrade you think it is. In this review we look at the benefits of the Nectar Lush and who should consider it for purchasing.

Overview of the Nectar Lush

Here’s a video overview of the Nectar Lush. It’s much easier to watch this video and see for yourself how the mattress reacts to get a good sense of how it will feel.

How Much Does the Nectar Lush Cost?

Below are the prices of the Nectar Lush. It is certainly more than the original Nectar but still a good value.

[table id=109 /]

Construction of the Nectar Lush Mattress

There isn’t a whole lot of detail on the densities of foam used in each later but from what I could tell it is quality foam.

Nectar Lush Construction

Dual-action cooling

With a cooling cover and a gel-coated memory foam top layer, the Nectar Lush helps regulate temperature to stay cool and in a deep sleep.

Superior Pressure Support

The Nectar Lush features an innovative memory foam with a higher density than what is found in traditional foam products. The increased density helps provide superior pressure relief for a plush, floaty rest.

My Nectar Lush Findings

The Nectar Lush comes shipped in a box that is a bit bigger than the original Nectar box because it is a thicker mattress, coming in a 12 inches vs the 10-inch original.

Nectar Lush Box

I thought that this mattress would take longer to come to shape because it is softer than the original and there’s just more foam that needs to decompress, but that wasn’t really the case. I was able to lay on this mattress about 45 minutes after opening it. Yes, there was some off-gassing but not as much as I would expect with an all-foam mattress. Keep in mind that you may notice more off-gassing than me because everyone has different sensitivities but even so, I would expect most of the off-gassing to dissipate within 24 hours.

Nectar Lush Squish

Here you can see how easy it sinks down into the mattress. You will notice the pressure relief right away. It will also be slower to recover but since it does contour so well, you won’t be moving around much anyway.

nectar lush top squish

There isn’t as much edge support on this mattress as a typical spring mattress but I didn’t feel like I was going to roll off either. A lot of people ask me about edge support because they put their shoes on at the side of the bed. I’m not sure why that’s such a big concern since your bed is primarily used for sleeping but nevertheless it is a concern I hear more than I would have expected. So although you may not enjoy putting your shoes on with this mattress, the trade-off is that it sleeps well.

nectar lush side sit

Here’s a picture of me lying on my side. You can easily see how this mattress contours.

nectar side sleep

Here’s you can see me lying on my back. This mattress is great for back sleeping too.

I didn’t really like sleeping on my stomach on this mattress. I would go with the original Nectar instead if you are a dedicated stomach sleeper.

My Final Thoughts on the Nectar Lush

Shopping for a new mattress is more confusing than ever. There are hundreds of online brands to choose from, not to mention the hundreds of brands available in stores. However, Nectar has made a name for itself as a brand that consumers and reviewers choose. Not only because it feels great but you also have an industry-leading 365-night trial and a 10-year warranty. I recommend the Nectar Lush for people that know they like the feel of memory foam and want a softer mattress that is great at relieving pressure points. Side sleepers will reap the most benefit from this mattress followed by back sleepers. Stomach sleepers should take a look at the original Nectar instead.

Mend Sleep Mattress Review (2026): Pros, Cons & Verdict

Mend Mattress Review
Bottom line

The Mend Sleep mattress is a soft hybrid designed for exceptional pressure relief with solid edge support. This mattress is best for side sleepers who prefer a plush feel, while those needing a firmer surface may want to consider other options or the firmer layer swap. Its innovative zipper system allows for comfort adjustments, a significant value addition.

The Mend mattress is a hybrid, foam and spring mattress created by a husband and wife from Charleston, South Carolina. This mattress was designed to provide superior pressure relief while still maintaining adequate edge support. Unlike most online brands, Mend does not have a trial period. Instead, they give you the option to swap out the top layer for something firmer or softer depending on your preferences. I found this mattress to be soft right out of the box so chances are if you don’t like a soft mattress, you will want to opt for a firmer setting.

Overview of the Mend Mattress

Below is a video overview of the Mend Sleep mattress. You’ll notice that the top cover has a separate zipper that houses the foam layers making it easy to swap out and exchange. You can also flip the foam layer over for a different feel.

Construction of the Mend Sleep Mattress

construction

Below are the construction details as listed on their website:

4-inch Comfort Layer™ – comprised of two unique foams, when paired, provide pillow-like softness and custom support.

8-inch hybrid foam-spring core – with almost 1,000 springs per mattress (king), these individually wrapped coils respond to your unique body shape to offer intuitive support and relief. The springs are surrounded by two layers of support foam, engineered to provide long-lasting resilience.

My Mend Sleep Findings

Here you can see just how much this mattress sinks. With 4 inches of foam at the top layer, you really do get a pillow top feel.

squish

Here’s another shot with showing sinkage with my 14 lb. bowling ball.

sink

I found this mattress super comfortable while sleeping on my side. I have broad shoulders and the mattress sank enough so that I felt great pressure relief with my shoulder and hips.

elbow

Here you can see that I am balanced out well. I could probably use a thicker pillow but my shoulders felt great.

contour

A big reason for the creation of this mattress is that the founders felt that most of the competition did not offer adequate edge support. While that’s probably true for some of the all-foam mattresses, having a zoned coil system like the one found in the Mend mattress does the job well. You will still sink into the mattress at the edge but will notice more support around the perimeter because of the firmer coils at the edge.

shoes

Here you can see the zipper system. This probably was an added cost but well worth it, especially if they will be working with you on comfort exchanges.

zipper

Below I unzipped the cover to expose the comfort foam layer. You can see to separate colors each a different firmness. That said, each layer is still relatively soft.

foam

My Mend Sleep Recommendation

I think the Mend Sleep mattress is ideal for side sleepers that aren’t getting adequate pressure relief from their current mattress and want a softer feel. While you can swap out the layers for something firmer, I found the out of the box firmness to be on the softer side. It seems that Mend was aiming for more of a pillow top, luxury feel with their mattress. Since a queen retails for $,1,650 it is a bit on the pricier end of the spectrum compared to other hybrids online but if you are looking for lots of pressure relief while still getting support from a quality spring system, this mattress is worth a look.
