Propel Mattress Review: Original Brooklyn Bedding Hybrid Testing Restored
The Propel page had lost the hands-on review of this earlier Brooklyn Bedding hybrid, including sinkage, edge-support and construction observations.
Foam-forward hybrid
Although Propel used pocketed coils, it felt more like a foam mattress because several inches of comfort/transition foam sat above the spring unit.
Medium feel
Yawnder’s 14-pound bowling ball showed good contouring, and the mattress landed close to a true medium rather than firm or ultra-plush.
Responsive comfort layers
The comfort stack included CopperFlex-style foam, responsive Energex and memory foam above the coils, giving it pressure relief without especially slow recovery.
Edge support
The hybrid structure gave the mattress enough perimeter stability to use more of the sleeping surface.
Why the old wellness claim is omitted
The original cover was marketed around infrared/recovery concepts. Those therapeutic-style claims are not necessary to assess the mattress’s actual feel and construction, so they are not restored as facts.
Current-shopping note
Propel has changed since this review and Brooklyn Bedding now sells different models under similar value/performance positioning. Treat this as a historical hands-on review.
