The Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Breeze Hybrid mattress is a hybrid mattress that combines Tempur-Pedic’s signature memory foam with a layer of pocketed coils. It is designed to provide pressure relief, support, and cooling comfort.
The top layer of the Tempur-Breeze Hybrid mattress is made of Tempur-Pedic’s TEMPUR-CM+ material, which is a cooling memory foam that is designed to absorb and distribute heat away from the body. The middle layer of the mattress is made of a layer of pocketed coils, which provide support and bounce. The bottom layer of the mattress is made of a high-density base foam, which provides durability and stability.
The Tempur-Breeze Hybrid mattress is available in three firmness levels: soft, medium, and firm. It is also backed by a 10-year warranty and a 90-night sleep trial.
Here are some of the benefits of the Tempur-Breeze Hybrid mattress:
- Pressure relief: The TEMPUR-CM+ memory foam conforms to your body’s natural curves to provide pressure relief where you need it most.
- Support: The pocketed coils in the middle layer of the mattress provide support for all sleep positions.
- Cooling: The TEMPUR-CM+ memory foam is designed to absorb and distribute heat away from the body, keeping you cool and comfortable while you sleep.
- Durability: The high-density base foam in the bottom layer of the mattress provides durability and stability.
Overall, the Tempur-Breeze Hybrid mattress is a great option for anyone looking for a comfortable, supportive, and cooling mattress. It is especially well-suited for people who sleep hot or who have back pain.
However, it is important to note that the Tempur-Breeze Hybrid mattress is one of the most expensive mattresses on the market. It is also a heavy mattress, so it can be difficult to move.
TEMPUR material now combined with premium spring coils for the ultimate in relaxation
Tempurpedic is synonymous with memory foam but they also have a few models with springs. The Tempur breeze hybrid is their top-of-the-line model with foams and pocket coils. Adding the coils give this mattress a unique feel that sets it apart from the rest of their lineup in that it has a slightly faster recovery and will sink in faster and provide a bit more cradling. This is a great choice for people new to memory foam mattresses that still want the familiar feel of springs

Below are the construction specifications of the mattress as listed on their website. Tempurpedic doesn’t disclose the densities of their foam but it is a dense foam, denser than what you will find in most online brands. Dense foam will hold up better over time and is great for contouring and pressure relief.

How Much Does the Tempurpedic Adapt Hybrid Cost?
Tempurpedic usually always has some sort of sale going on so make sure to check their website for the latest discounts and prices. Tempurpedic offers a 90 night trial on this mattress if you buy it from their website. This means you get to try it out for 90 nights in your house and if you aren’t happy with it, you can contact them to initiate a return. Tempurpedic asks that you try the mattress for at least 30 nights so that your body can adjust before returning. If you purchased the mattress with a free shipping discount, you may have to pay return shipping fees which is $175. While this isn’t as generous as some of the newer online brands, you are purchasing a top of the line mattress from a very reputable brand.

My TEMPUR – breeze hybrid Findings
Most brands now offer a zippable cover but Tempurpedic really pays attention to detail. Even the zipper pulls are high quality. The cover is designed to be ultra-breathable and has a phase change cooling layer to draw heat away. Yes, other brands also have this but this cover is much higher quality and is going to last longer.
I unzipped the cover and cut into the inside to show the layers of foam. Its kind of underwhelming but don’t let that fool you. Many brands will simply color the different layers of foam as a marketing ploy. Tempur is more focused on the quality of foam and if you watch my overview view you can see that the foam has a more consistent look and feel.
There are 3 layers of foam here there’s the top comfort layer, a transition layer and the third layer is actually a foam border that goes around the mattress.
When I peel back the foam border, you can see the pocket coils inside. Less expensive mattresses do not offer a foam border and this usually will mean less edge support. Having a firm foam border means you can maximize your sleeping surface without feeling like you are going to roll off.
I typically sleep on my side unless the mattress gets too firm and my shoulders get sore. That forces me to move towards my stomach, then later, back to my side. With this mattress, I am able to sleep on my side most of the night without switching positions. Often, if your shoulder is getting sore, you should look at getting a thicker pillow to support your neck.
I really like how much this mattress sinks while still offering good support. Most hybrid mattresses will use firmer coils for support but this mattress takes a more balanced approach. The coils aren’t too firm and the foam is firmer than most hybrids but together you still get a medium-firm feel.
My Tempurpedic Breeze Hybrid Recommendation
Tempurpedic is facing a lot of competition online with the emergence of online brands. While they may not be the cheapest mattress, they are still tops in quality and durability. They also have a feel all their own that I still have not experienced being replicated. Die-hard Tempurpedic loyalists will appreciate the upgrades this mattress provides such as its cooling features and the introduction of springs that still make it feel primarily like a foam mattress but with a bit quicker contouring and more sinkage.
I recommend this mattress to existing Tempurpedic customers looking for an upgrade and for anyone who wants the best in quality from a name that started the memory foam craze.

Tempur Pedic Foam Densities
Unfortunately, Tempur-Pedic does not publicly disclose the specific foam density of their mattress models. This information is considered proprietary and not shared for competitive reasons. The company focuses on the performance and feel of their TEMPUR-Material™ rather than specific density measurements.
However, I can offer some general insights about their foam:
- TEMPUR-Material™ is generally denser than standard memory foam, contributing to its superior pressure relief, conforming support, and durability.
- Density can vary within different layers of a mattress to achieve specific comfort and support characteristics.
- Tempur-Pedic offers a range of firmness levels, so the density likely varies across their models to create the desired feel for each.
Tempur Sealy’s Acquisition of Mattress Firm
What happened?
In May 2023, Tempur Sealy International, the parent company of Tempur-Pedic, announced a definitive agreement to acquire Mattress Firm, the largest mattress retailer in the U.S., for approximately $4 billion. This deal involved:
- Cash: $2.7 billion
- Stock: $1.3 billion in Tempur Sealy common stock
- Estimated completion: Second half of 2024 (possibly later due to FTC review)
Why did it happen?
This acquisition aimed to create a vertically integrated bedding company with significant market share and efficiency.
- Tempur Sealy: Strong manufacturing capabilities
- Mattress Firm: Large retail network
By combining forces, they hoped to:
- Increase market share: Become the leading mattress company in the U.S.
- Improve efficiency: Streamline operations and reduce costs
- Enhance customer experience: Offer a wider selection of products and services
Potential implications:
- Price changes: Some experts believe the merger could lead to higher mattress prices due to reduced competition.
- Product variety: Tempur Sealy may prioritize its own brands in Mattress Firm stores, potentially limiting the availability of other mattress brands.
- Store closures: While Tempur Sealy has stated its intention to keep Mattress Firm stores open, some closures are possible.
Current status:
The acquisition is currently under review by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) due to potential concerns about reduced competition in the mattress market.

Why is Tempurpedic So Expensive?
Tempur-Pedic mattresses are undoubtedly on the pricier side of the market, which leads many to wonder why they come with such a hefty price tag. Here are some key factors contributing to their cost:
High-Quality Materials:
- Unique Memory Foam: Tempur-Pedic uses a proprietary viscoelastic foam formula developed from NASA technology. This material offers exceptional pressure relief and contouring, which other memory foam mattresses may not replicate as effectively.
- Durable Construction: Tempur-Pedic mattresses are built to last using high-density foams and quality covers. This ensures they maintain their shape and comfort over time, potentially saving you money in the long run.
Research and Development:
- Constant Innovation: Tempur-Pedic invests heavily in research and development, continuously improving their foam technology and introducing new mattress features. This dedication to innovation comes at a cost, reflected in the final product price.
- Testing and Certification: Tempur-Pedic mattresses undergo rigorous testing for performance, durability, and safety, earning certifications from independent organizations. This commitment to quality adds to the initial expense.
Brand Recognition and Marketing:
- Premium Brand Image: Tempur-Pedic has established itself as a premium brand synonymous with luxury and high-quality sleep. This brand recognition contributes to a higher perceived value and justifies a higher price point.
- Extensive Marketing: Tempur-Pedic invests heavily in marketing campaigns, featuring celebrity endorsements and highlighting the unique benefits of their mattresses. These marketing efforts are necessary to maintain brand awareness and generate sales, but ultimately add to the overall cost.
Other Factors:
- Retail Markups: The price you pay at a retailer likely includes a markup over the manufacturer’s price. This markup helps cover the retailer’s operating costs and profit margin.
- Targeted Consumer Base: Tempur-Pedic primarily targets consumers willing to pay a premium for superior comfort and support, further justifying their higher price compared to mattresses aimed at budget-conscious shoppers.
Considering the Value:
While Tempur-Pedic mattresses are expensive, it’s important to consider the potential value they offer:
- Improved Sleep Quality: Many users report significant improvements in sleep quality after transitioning to a Tempur-Pedic mattress, potentially leading to increased productivity and overall well-being.
- Reduced Back Pain: The pressure relief provided by Tempur-Pedic foam can be beneficial for those suffering from back pain, potentially saving money on treatments and lost productivity.
- Durability and Longevity: The sturdy construction and high-quality materials ensure Tempur-Pedic mattresses can last for many years, possibly making them a cost-effective option in the long run.

1. Shop Around and Compare Prices:
- Multiple retailers: Check prices at various authorized Tempur-Pedic retailers, including their website, physical stores, and online retailers like Amazon or Mattress Firm.

5. Take Advantage of Financing Options:
- Zero-interest financing: Tempur-Pedic often offers interest-free financing for a limited time, making the purchase more affordable.

- Online retailers: Online retailers may offer lower prices due to lower overhead costs.
Remember:
- Persistence and patience: Be prepared to negotiate and don’t be afraid to walk away if you don’t get the price you want.
