Foundation

[Disclaimer]

The Crave mattress Foundation has been the easiest foundation I have setup so far. It takes about 10-15 minutes to complete out of the box.  A queen size retails for $210 and can be purchased directly from their website. This foundation it the easiest way to get your mattress off the floor and make it look nice as well.

Overview

The Crave foundation will arrive in a box like the one below. It is shipped by UPS or FedEx so no waiting for a delivery person. It also is portable so easy to get up the stairs. Older houses can have tight corners and since this comes in pieces, there should be no issue getting it into tight spots.

Crave Foundation

Here’s how everything comes packed. What really surprised me is that there are no screws. You don’t need any tools to setup with foundation.

It comes with some instructions but basically all you need to do is fit all the corner pieces together then push a peg through each corner to secure in place.

Below is a closeup of what the corners look like and how they attach.

Crave Corner

Once everything is aligned you just put the peg through the hole. You may need to wiggle the sides a little to get it in but it doesn’t take much effort. Once all the pegs are in place then you can lay the wood slat system across the top.

Crave Base

There is a center rail that goes down the middle of the foundation for added support for the slats. This simply slides directly into the foundation.

Foundation Center

This foundation can sit directly on the floor. This gives it excellent support. Below is a picture of a bunch of mattresses piled high on the foundation.  As you can see this is a sort of princess and the pea scenario.

Conclusion

Like I said, this has been the easiest foundation to setup. It doesn’t require any tools and is very sturdy. The sides have a microfiber finish that is soft to the touch and easy to clean. If you are purchasing a new mattress, it is important that it rests on a solid foundation. Older box springs used to actually have springs and would give a bit. New mattresses are designed to go on a solid surface. Make sure you test your box spring to see if it needs to be replaced before putting a new mattress on it.

The Crave Foundation goes perfectly with the Crave mattress.
