I recently received a silk comforter from Nest Bedding for review.  Let’s just start out by saying you can go crazy with silk. Frette sells their Villa Silk Duvet Filler for $3,100 in a king, and I’m sure it’s amazing but you don’t need to break the bank to get the benefits of silk. The Nest silk comforter sells for $499 in a king/cal king.

Even if you have a queen size bed, I recommend going with the king size since it will cover more of your bed and you won’t have to fight your partner for bedding at night. 

When you order through Nest, you package will arrive in a nondescript box and inside it will be wrapped in plastic.

The comforter itself is also wrapped in plastic just in your package gets wet al0ng the way. You also get a nice cloth bag to store the comforter when not in use.

Once opened you can start using it right away, there’s not harmful smells and it feels great right out of the box. I do recommend a duvet cover to keep it clean though. I recommend a bamboo or Tencel duvet and sheet set to further help regulate temperature and keep you cool.

I prefer not to use a cover since they can be cumbersome to attach and remove everytime you want to wash it. Instead, I prefer to just wash the whole blanket as most washers these days can handle it.

My Leesa Pillow Recommendation

I would especially recommend this pillow if you are going to buy a Leesa matttress. It definitely works well with the mattress since they are made of the same materials. Having both the pillow and the mattress gives you a constent feel across your entire body.

The Smart Nora is one of the most comfortable stop snoring solutions out there. Since there are no mouth guards or nose strips you don’t even notice it until it starts moving. The movement is very subtle and slow. It’s designed to work silently and in the background to minimize disruptions to your sleep. The movement may wake you up while you’re getting used to the product. This is normal and within a week or so you should be back to sleeping soundly.

When it comes to the materials of the Elegear Revolutionary Cooling Blanket, one side is made of 100% cotton and the other side (the cooling side) is made of 80% mica nylon and 20% polyethylene. This mica nylon and polyethylene blend is what gives Elegear’s Arc-Chill Fabric its cooling abilities.

It first wasn’t clear if Arc-Chill was Elegear’s trademark or a separate company all together but I eventually figured it out. I checked out Arc-Chill’s Facebook page and when I clicked the main CTA button to “Learn More,” it redirected me straight to Elegear’s website so yes, Arc-Chill is most likely a trademark of Elegear.

The Elegear fabric is a smart fabric, which requires some care if you want to maintain it and have it last. Excess heat can destroy some fabrics; some textiles just do not belong in a drying machine. So, while it is machine washable, it should be handled as a “delicate,” and it should also be air-dried, and Elegear further emphasizes, preferably “in the shade.”

My Elegear Revolutionary Cooling Blanket Findings

I was completely skeptical about Elegear’s revolutionary cooling blanket. Amazon products can be hit or miss, Elegear doesn’t sound at all like a domestic brand name (because it isn’t) so I didn’t trust it and I wondered how much of its popularity was due to hype. My experience on Amazon has been mostly good, and I would think like most people, I’ve experienced my share of being met with both high-quality and low-quality products when it came time to arrive. It’s probably silly to doubt it so much; they do, after all, have the best customer service experience ever; they don’t even rely on USPS or UPS for their own shipping. They have their own planes, their own trucks! They ship at lightning speed and if you’re unhappy, you can return almost anything and everything. But enough about Amazon for now.

Elegear surprised me in a very positive way. While I was filming the review, I had a difficult time distinguishing how to get the best “experience” and how to best “test” the fabric. Knowing the Q max value and understanding the Q max index intrigued me on an intellectual level but it didn’t answer my questions. After taking a few days away from the product, I eventually figured it out and I realized what everyone else has said: it really is cooling!

If you want to test the fabric, you need to cover a lot of surface area. I tried this out by cloaking it over my bare shoulders and later after laying it down on my bed, and then laying on top of it. Then I really understood and felt the difference. Covering a hand or a piece of your arm probably won’t do it justice and that was my initial mistake. It’s also going to confuse you if you’re covered in a lot of fabric as it is; I got the best impression/effect on bare skin.

I’m glad I didn’t force a decision and come here and proclaim that it’s ineffective because that wouldn’t be true. Elegear’s Revolutionary Cooling Blanket works but it’s also not a block of ice so your expectations should be kept in check. I first suggest understanding just how “cooling” you want it. Maybe sleeping with an ice pack will work for some people but for something more subtle and gentle, and that doesn’t require nearly as much thought, a cooling blanket could do.

It also works as an everyday mattress.

Once you get it out of the box you just cut open the plastic wrap and the mattress will begin to take life. This mattress took longer than most to fully expand. The directions say to wait 72 hours to get its full shape but you can sleep on it earlier than that if need be.

My Signature Sleep Findings

Upon initially opening this mattress you will think that it is probably too soft. You need to give it adequate time to come to life though. After 3 days the mattress will firm up considerably. Here’s how much my 14 lb. bowling ball sinks into the mattress. This is a slow sink, meaning that it will slowly conform to you. Some Amazon reviewers describe this as a really nice hug.

This is a two-layer foam mattress with 4 inches of comfort contouring foam on the top layer so you really won’t notice any motion transfer and if you do, I would make sure that it is on a solid foundation. Here’s a quick video illustrating motion transfer on the mattress.

 

Here’s a look inside the mattress that shows how each layer reacts. It should be noted that there is no phase change cooling material in the top layer and some Amazon reviews note about it sleeping hot. I would say that this is due to the fact that it is a memory foam mattress and people transitioning from a spring to a foam mattress will notice that it does insulate considerably more.

 

 

My Signature Sleep Recommendation

Overall this mattress is an awesome value for the money. You would be hard pressed to find a less expensive mattress with this construction. In terms of how it feels, It will feel a bit firm at first but you will slowly sink into it. Another popular Amazon mattress is the Zinus Green Tea mattress which I found to be softer than this mattress. I think this mattress would be a more versatile mattress though and more accommodating to stomach sleepers.

I recently received a TEMPUR-Neck Pillow from Tempurpedic for review. This pillos is a classic among the Tempurpedic line. I remember when this was first available in the late 1990s. No doubt this pillow takes some getting used to but it has stood the test of time. The pillow currently retails at $99 for a medium size.

Findings

Although I am mostly a stomach sleeper, I can appreciate how this works for side and back sleepers by giving proper support for your neck while keeping you in alignment. Belos is a view of the contouring of the pillow.

Here’s a quick video of how the pillow reacts. I really like how this pillow slowly contours. That feeling isn’t for everyone but Tempurpedic is known for it and it offers excellent pressure relief.

Conclusion

I highly recommend side sleepers who aren’t getting good support to try out at neck pillow. Tempurpedic has been making them for decades and they design has stood the test of time. If you’re wondering what size to get, they have a nice chart on their website that recommends a size based on your height. Often it seems that people don’t have the right loft in their pillow causing their head to get out of alignment.

Getting water on your pillow may sound like the last thing you would want but not in this case. For those in need of some serious neck support and neck pain relief, the Mediflow Waterbase Pillow might interest you. Especially considering that waterbase pillows are clinically shown to improve sleep, as well as reduce neck pain overall but don’t worry; there will be more on that later.

The Mediflow Waterbase Pillow is a polyester pillow with a water base attached on the bottom. Sleep seekers are able to fill the water base to their preferred amount (up to 5 liters of water at a maximum) to reach their desired level of pillow firmness. Mediflow operates within the US and the pillow is also manufactured within the United States. A single pillow retails for $49.99 on Amazon, and a set of 2 retails for $79.99, allowing you to save at least $20. This pillow has a 4 out of 5 star review on Amazon, based on 3,000+ reviews. That being the case, I knew I had to see if the hype was real.

Below is a video unboxing, demo and review of the Mediflow Waterbase Pillow. It has a nice starting point to begin with, in terms of firmness. I would say that without any water at all, that the pillow has a medium firm feel.

My Mediflow Waterbase Pillow Findings

The Mediflow Waterbase Pillow looks like any old pillow until it’s turned to the back, where the water chamber is. Getting acquainted with the technology is a bit of a funny feeling because the concept is so unique.

Opening the cap on the waterbase was easy, and the blue nozzle that comes included in the packaging was actually designed to help in this regard. So for anyone with long nails, or weak hands, fear not.

Mediflow provides you with a flow chart that is meant to serve as a guide on how much water you should be using. I found that the easiest way to fill the pillow was by reusing a 1 liter bottle from an empty bottle of water. A full liter isn’t sufficient enough. You will need at least 2 liters (which is considered to provide soft firmness) to feel any substantial difference.

Pouring water into the waterbase was simple and kind of fun but I do suggest to do this slowly. I ended up with a small spill myself from looking away for just a moment. How you hold the nozzle will dictate how slowly or how quickly the pillow takes the water.

Once you’re done pouring your desired amount of water into the water base chamber of the pillow, comes the important step of removing the air pocket. This is pretty important, so as to avoid having both air and water in the pillow- which can cause issues when pressure is being applied to it, like there will be when you’re sleeping on it. When putting the cap back onto the waterbase, it is suggested that you use the blue nozzle to close it and tighten it. They include a diagram with the packaging to show you how to do this most effectively.

My Mediflow Waterbase Pillow Recommendation

The reason I am most impressed with the pillow is because there was actually a clinical study conducted to research the effectiveness of waterbase pillows. The study was published in the Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and can be found on pubmed.gov, a US National Library of Medicine, sharing findings from the National Institutes of Health. That specific study can be found here.

The conclusion of the study entitled “Cervical pain: a comparison of three pillows” found that:

“The water-based pillow was associated with reduced morning pain intensity, increased pain relief, and improved quality of sleep.”

The other two pillows that it was compared to was the subject’s usual pillow and a roll pillow. Below is a screenshot of the actual study conducted:


The study alone made me feel that trying the MediflowWaterbase Pillow would be a wise experiment for someone with cervical pain or general neck tension and stiffness.

The common symptoms of cervical degenerative disc disease is having neck pain and stiffness. That being the case, people with this type of particular health issue, need to take precautions on how they sleep, in terms of both mattresses and pillows.

On another note, some online reviews from people who have used the pillow, or are currently using the pillow, mention the possibility of the pillow leaking. This means how you tighten the cap of the waterbase chamber is especially important. Keep in mind to make use of the nozzle that comes with the pillow.

Pillows are recommended to be washed every 3 months so I think if you were to wash this pillow, it would be best to hand-wash it. However, over time that may affect the functionality of the pillow overall. Pillows are recommended to be replaced every 6 months so that’s something to also think about but Mediflow’s one year warranty on manufacturer defects can at least provide some comfort if any issues were to arise within that 1 year window.

Overall, I think the pillow is a really interesting and creative find. Knowing that a clinical study was conducted, even if on a relatively small sample size (41 individuals, but specifically with cervical issues) can shed some light on what this type of waterbase pillow can provide for individuals both with and without health issues.

The Osaki OS-Pro Maestro LE is one of my favorite massage chairs. It has a sleek modern look with an upgraded touchscreen and great Bluetooth speakers for the ultimate in relaxation. I have been focusing on massage chairs more recently because after trying one, I am convinced they will lead to a healthier lifestyle. These chairs just melt away the stress and can rejuvenate you quickly with a button. Yes, they can be expensive but pay for themselves over time versus constantly paying for and going to a massage therapist with inconsistent results. Best of all my massage chair is ready to give me a massage whenever I need it and it’s usually at night at the end of a long day. I have been reading up on other Osaki massage chair reviews and after my research I wanted to try one myself to see if it was the real deal.

As the picture shows, this is a very large and heavy package. I chose to assemble it myself to test the process. The chair arrives in three boxes. The main chair body is in the largest bottom box.

If you skip white glove delivery, it arrives on a pallet via freight. You must move each box into your house yourself. Even with a dolly, it is a difficult task without help.

I suggest opening the biggest box first. Remove all the packaging to clear your workspace. There is a lot of material to protect the chair during shipping. Keeping the area clean helps you avoid losing small parts.

Read the manual before you start. Lay out all the pieces clearly. The setup instructions were missing a few details, but the process is mostly simple. I recommend having two people for assembly. Parts like the leg extension are heavy and hard to attach alone.

Attaching the leg rest was the hardest part. It is heavy and must align perfectly with the main unit. Once the legs are on, the rest of the work is easy.

My Osaki OS-Pro Maestro LE Recommendation

This is the third massage chair I have used regularly. It is the most advanced and has the most features. I have owned it for 5 months and I am still finding new ways to adjust it.

One downside is the foot massager. It feels small for my size 13 feet. If you are tall or have large feet, look at the Osaki Highpointe. It costs more but has an open foot design that is much better for large feet.

Compared to the X77 from XChair, the Osaki is more intense. It has more programs and a better touchscreen. Both offer heat and zero gravity, but the Osaki feels more powerful.

The quality is excellent. Costco sells a version for $6,899, but it uses an old remote. The Yawnder San Diego store sells the updated LE model with the touchpad. We offer a great price and a 30-day trial. Email sales@yawnder.com for a quote.

When it was sold: the Liv was a simple, medium-feel, 9-inch all-foam mattress aimed at value shoppers.

Best historical fit: lighter side and back sleepers, guest rooms and couples prioritizing motion isolation over edge strength.

Skip a used one if: it has an unknown history, visible impressions, missing law labels or no written seller warranty. Foam condition matters more than the original retail price.

How it felt in the original review

Yawnder’s original hands-on impression was that the Liv felt more accommodating than its low profile suggested. The foam absorbed movement well, and the medium feel was easier to recommend to average-size side and back sleepers than a very firm budget bed. Those observations are historical and were not collected with today’s standardized measurement equipment.

The predictable tradeoffs are equally important. An all-foam perimeter does not provide the seated edge support of a reinforced hybrid. The comfort layer can also feel warmer and slower-moving than a spring-and-foam design, even with a gel infusion. Heavier stomach sleepers are the group most likely to need more support depth and a firmer core.

Trial, warranty and buying a discontinued Liv

Historical sources reported different trial lengths as Tulo and Mattress Firm policies changed. That is exactly why the old 100- or 120-night language should not be treated as a current promise. The original mattress was commonly advertised with a 10-year limited warranty, but warranty eligibility depends on the original purchaser, receipt, seller and written terms.

For a clearance mattress, ask whether it is new, a floor model, a return or “as is.” For a used mattress, assume there is no transferable warranty unless the seller proves otherwise. Inspect for impressions, edge collapse, odors, stains and a removed law label before discussing price.

Current alternatives we have reviewed

Final verdict

The Tulo Liv made sense as a low-cost new mattress in 2018. In 2026, it is primarily an ownership and used-market question. The original design was competent for the price, and Yawnder’s real photo and videos remain useful, but a current mattress with a verifiable trial and warranty is usually the safer purchase unless the Liv is genuinely unused and deeply discounted.

I received two recliners for review from Sealy. The Aria Lift Recliner and the Nolan Motion Recliner. To be honest, I thought I would kick the tires on these chairs and then give them to friends and family. 7 months later, I still have them and use them every day. I didn’t expect them to be so comfortable! This is my first of many to come, power lift recliner reviews. Below are my findings.

My Sealy Recliner Findings

The Aria lift recliner is now my favorite piece of furniture in the house. It is incredibly soft and supports you in all the right areas. It’s great for watching TV or taking naps. Although I there’s absolutely no reason for me to use the incline feature, I am guilty of lifting myself out of a TV binge stupor out of sheer laziness. It’s rare that I ever use the seated position anymore. And although I rarely use it as a power lift chair to get out of the chair, it’s nice to know that I have the option of the power lift recliner incline as well.

I often work from home and use my laptop as my primary device. While its great to have a USB port in these chairs and other pieces of furniture I own, The Aria actually has an outlet installed inside the storage area. Now I can plug in my laptop without digging around on the floor for the power strip and creating another tripping hazard. I now keep my laptop charger inside the chair arm along with remotes and usb cables for my phone. One drawback is that it is a wired remote. I would have like a button on the side of the chair instead. It’s sort of annoying to have to fish out the remove each time I want to get in and out of the chair. But, for someone with limited mobility, it does make sense to have a wired remove that can be places where it’s most accessible.

Armrest

The Aria does not look as sleek and modern as the Nolan recliner but it is softer and the fabric is cozier. I’m at the age where comfort wins over looks, especially now that so much of what we do is at home.

The Nolan recliner does offer some key advantages over the Aria though. For instance, the Nolan has a head tilt feature that comes in handy when you are reclined and trying to watch TV. It is also made with a fabric that is easier to clean than the Nolan and is darker so will probably go with more of your other furniture. Lift chairs have come a long way over the years and I expect that they will grow in popularity not only as the population ages but as people realize they can have the benefits of lift chairs at an affordable price. 

Both chairs have Sealy Support HD foams inside along with the Posturepedic encased coils. The combination of these two materials makes the chairs incredibly comfortable. The Sealy collection is a great choice for heavier people looking for recliner and/or incline chairs. They support up to 350 lbs. and have a 1-year warranty. You can get a longer warranty though through their warranty partner, Extend which I would recommend, especially given how often I use this chair.  The controller on the Nolan takes some practice since you have both the incline/reline as well as head tilt buttons so close together but once you get the hang of it, it’s super convenient and it also has a USB port which is perfect for keeping my phone and other device charged. These features are new to power lift recliners and now should come standard.

My Sealy Recliner Findings

The Aria lift recliner is now my favorite piece of furniture in the house. It is incredibly soft and supports you in all the right areas. It’s great for watching TV or taking naps. Although I there’s absolutely no reason for me to use the incline feature, I am guilty of lifting myself out of a TV binge stupor out of sheer laziness. It’s rare that I ever use the seated position anymore. And although I rarely use it as a power lift chair to get out of the chair, it’s nice to know that I have the option of the power lift recliner incline as well.

I often work from home and use my laptop as my primary device. While its great to have a USB port in these chairs and other pieces of furniture I own, The Aria actually has an outlet installed inside the storage area. Now I can plug in my laptop without digging around on the floor for the power strip and creating another tripping hazard. I now keep my laptop charger inside the chair arm along with remotes and usb cables for my phone. One drawback is that it is a wired remote. I would have like a button on the side of the chair instead. It’s sort of annoying to have to fish out the remove each time I want to get in and out of the chair. But, for someone with limited mobility, it does make sense to have a wired remove that can be places where it’s most accessible.

Armrest

The Aria does not look as sleek and modern as the Nolan recliner but it is softer and the fabric is cozier. I’m at the age where comfort wins over looks, especially now that so much of what we do is at home.

The Nolan recliner does offer some key advantages over the Aria though. For instance, the Nolan has a head tilt feature that comes in handy when you are reclined and trying to watch TV. It is also made with a fabric that is easier to clean than the Nolan and is darker so will probably go with more of your other furniture. Lift chairs have come a long way over the years and I expect that they will grow in popularity not only as the population ages but as people realize they can have the benefits of lift chairs at an affordable price. 

Both chairs have Sealy Support HD foams inside along with the Posturepedic encased coils. The combination of these two materials makes the chairs incredibly comfortable. The Sealy collection is a great choice for heavier people looking for recliner and/or incline chairs. They support up to 350 lbs. and have a 1-year warranty. You can get a longer warranty though through their warranty partner, Extend which I would recommend, especially given how often I use this chair.  The controller on the Nolan takes some practice since you have both the incline/reline as well as head tilt buttons so close together but once you get the hang of it, it’s super convenient and it also has a USB port which is perfect for keeping my phone and other device charged. These features are new to power lift recliners and now should come standard.

Duvets marketed for temperature control usually combine a moisture-moving fill, such as lyocell, wool or a phase-change treated fibre, with a breathable shell. The goal is to move sweat vapour away before it condenses, since damp bedding is what makes people feel too hot or clammy.

Fill weight still sets the baseline warmth. A moisture-managing duvet that is too heavy for your bedroom will still overheat you.

Matching duvet warmth to your room

Mid-60s Fahrenheit suits an all-season or lightweight fill for most sleepers. Cooler rooms in the high 50s justify a heavier winter fill, and warm rooms above 72 usually call for a summer-weight duvet or a coverlet only.

How Does Curfew Dream Blanket Work?

This blanket works just like any other blanket you just put it over your body and relax! I would say that the blanket is on the thinner side and that was probably intentional because you want to be able to use the blanket even if you aren’t that cold so you can get the CBD benefits. You can always put another layer on top of it.

The Dream Blanket works by coming into contact with your skin, so it’s best used with a short sleeve shirt to maximize contact. The blanket is infused with micro-encapsulated beads that are released with friction and then go into your skin. The Curfew website explains how it works as follows:

CBD is infused into the Dream Blanket fibers using micro-encapsulation technology. Tiny droplets of CBD are wrapped in a protective coating. This patented technology protects the CBD droplets from evaporation, oxidation and contamination.

The micro-encapsulated CBD is then bonded to yarn, which is then knit into the Dream Blanket. The friction that is created when using the blanket will break the walls of the CBD capsule where it is released onto your skin.

This blankets is supposed to last 20 wash cycles, or an estimated 2 years if you follow the wash instructions which ask you to machine wash on cold and air dry, do not place in the dryer.

My Curfew Dream Blanket Findings and Recommendation

I was pleasantly surprised to find that this blanket did not reek of CBD. I appreciate that there was no overwhelming smell and it’s nice to know that it is washable.

In conclusion, I recommend a CBD blanket for people that are averse to taking tinctures or pills and still want to experience the benefits of CBD with milder effects. If you consistently use CBD and happen to use blankets often, then this will actually end up saving you money in the long run.
