Overall, the Leesa Studio mattress is a good choice for sleepers who are looking for an affordable, comfortable, and supportive mattress.

I recently received the new budget-friendly mattress from Leesa called Studio by Leesa. This is a 3 layer foam mattress similar to the original Leesa. What sets it apart from the original Leesa mattress which is also a 3 layer foam construction is that it does not sink in as much. Therefore it is more suited to people who want a mattress that has less contouring. As more of a side sleeper myself, I found the Leesa a little too firm for my taste but I think it a wonderful mattress for back and stomach sleepers looking for a quality mattress that is made in the USA at a great price.

Overview of the Studio by Leesa Mattress

Here is a video review of the Leesa Studio. Unlike most foam mattresses this one sprang to life and was ready to sleep on almost immediately. I did notice some off-gassing which took a few days to dissipate so if you are sensitive to smells you probably should open this in another room to let it air out for a few days. Eventually, the smell will go away and won’t be an issue.

Below are the construction details of the mattress as listed on the Leesa website.

How Does the Leesa Studio Compare to the Original Leesa Mattress?

Since both the Leesa and Leesa Studio are 3 layer foam mattresses, it’s easy to compare. I appreciate that Leesa includes the foam density of each layer. As you can see below, the Leesa Original has denser foam at the top and transitional layers which will make it more durable and provide better pressure relief. The Leesa studio has a half in less comfort and transitional foam and makes up the height with an extra inch in the base layer. This is how they have saved on cost and it does make for a different feel.

My Studio by Leesa Findings

As you can see below, this mattress doesn’t have all that much sink to it but since it is all foam, it didn’t feel overly firm either. For reference, this is a 14 lb. bowling ball.

studio by leesa sink

Here you can see that I’m not sinking in all that much while on my side. My shoulders give in a bit but my hips don’t sink much at all. Some sleepers really appreciate this and I would advise having a pillow thick enough to make up for the lack of sinkage at your shoulders.

If you sleep on your back or stomach, this mattress is a good choice. As you can see I’m fully supported.

My Studio By Leesa Recommendation

All too often I will find a mattress that is really good value and then the company will gradually increase the price as they get name recognition in the industry. That shouldn’t be the case with this mattress as Leesa is a well established online brand and they intentionally designed a mattress that has inherent value at an aggressive price that won’t compete with the original model.  I highly recommend this mattress to back and stomach sleepers looking for a mattress with no motion transfer that may be new to sleeping on foam. It won’t break the bank and it’s relatively light so won’t break your back either if you have to move it down the road. The Studio by Leesa comes with a 100-night trial and 10-year warranty. That means free delivery, free returns and a full refund if you don’t like it. On top of that Leesa donates a new mattress to a child in need for every 10 that they sell. There are hundreds of 3 layer foam mattresses on the market these days and it’s nice to know that you are doing a little bit of good while making your purchase.

It is ideal for active individuals seeking recovery benefits without changing their mattress, but its "dry clean only" instruction might be an inconvenience for some. This duvet excels at temperature regulation due to its Celliant and Lyocell blend.

Amerisleep is best known for its line of mattresses. Over the years they have expanded their offerings to include pillows, bases and bedding. Most recently they have launched the Recover+ Duvet. This is a duvet insert that is made with Celliant technology. Celliant is a fiber that can turn body heat into infrared energy to promote circulation and improve sleep. Amerisleep incorporates Celliant fibers in their mattresses as well.

Overview of the Recover+ Duvet

This duvet is available exclusively through their website. My duvet took about a week to arrive at my doorstep. It comes in a standard box but inside the box you will find that it is protected in a zippable bag which can be reused to store the duvet when not in use or to store your old duvet.

The duvet comes in 3 sizes.

The Recover+ Duvet comes with a 1-year limited warranty. If you experience any manufacturing or cosmetic defects, we will replace your duvet free of charge. (This includes seams that come apart from faulty sewing.)

The Recover+ Duvet comes with free shipping. Provided we have the size you want in stock, your order will ship within 3-5 business days. After your order ships, it should arrive within 5 business days.

My Amerisleep Recover+ Duvet Findings and Recommendation

The first thing that struck me about this duvet is that it is grey. Duvet inserts are normally white and I was concerned that the color would show through my white duvet cover but that wasn’t the case.

I have been sleeping on this duvet for over a month now and it does a great job or regulating temperature, not too hot and not too cold. I now live in San Diego where the nights can get chilly and if you leave your window open at night it can get cool in the bedroom. This duvet kept me cozy all night.

Conversely, now that it is May, the days are getting considerably warmer and my house stays warmer at night. That said, my wife still enjoys sleeping with this duvet which says a lot. Normally we switch to the Buffy Breeze during the summer but that may not be necessary with this duvet. The duvet is made with 42% lyocell which is a great material for keeping you cool and is the same material found in the Buffy Breeze.

The Amerisleep Recover+ also has loops on each corner so that you can easily tie or clip the duvet cover. Tying is my preferred method as I find the clips eventually come loose and you have to hunt for them when washing your bedding.

The label tag asks to dry clean only but I was able to wash it in my washing machine without issue. I also dryed it on low heat. My washing machine does not have an agitator and you should always wash according to the instructions but if necessary washing with a newer high-efficiency washer without agitator may be OK.

amerisleep tag

The king size duvet covered by bed completely so it will fill up the duvet cover nicely. It is pocket stitched so the material won’t bunch up towards one end.

amerisleep duvet on bed

For a duvet insert, the Amerisleep Recover+ is not cheap. My king size duvet retails for $350 but the justification for the price isn’t necessarily the look or feel, its the technology. This is the only duvet I’m aware of that has Celliant. Yes, there are now a handful of mattress brands, including Amerisleep that have Celliant technology but if you want to get the benefits of this technology without having to change mattresses, this is a great option.

Overall this is a great choice for people who are active and want to get the recovery benefits that Cellaint provides without having to switch their mattress. This duvet regulates temperature well and will fill up your duvet cover nicely making it a nice upgrade to your nightly sleep experience.

The Bottom Line on the Amerisleep Recover+ Duvet

Amerisleep Recover+ Duvet Review (2026): Pros, Cons & Verdict — Yawnder review hero image
Photo: Yawnder editorial

The Amerisleep Recover+ Duvet isn’t just another layer for your bed; it’s a piece of performance sleep equipment designed for those who view rest as an integral part of their wellness routine. In this Amerisleep Recover+ Duvet review, we find it carves out a unique space in the crowded bedding market by embedding Celliant technology directly into its fibers. This isn’t merely marketing fluff; Celliant is a well-documented, FDA-determined textile that captures your body heat, converts it into therapeutic infrared energy, and reflects it back to your tissues. The purported benefits include increased local circulation and improved cellular oxygenation, which can translate to more restorative sleep, faster muscle recovery, and more consistent temperature regulation throughout the night.

Ultimately, the Recover+ Duvet is a premium product with a price tag to match, aimed squarely at athletes, bio-hackers, and hot sleepers who have been disappointed by traditional down or synthetic comforters. Its blend of a cotton shell with a Lyocell, Celliant, and polyester fill creates a modern, medium-weight feel that drapes comfortably without excessive bulk or trapping heat. While the one-year warranty is shorter than we’d hope for at this price point, and the lack of a sleep trial means it’s a final purchase, the innovation and tangible potential for enhanced sleep quality make it a compelling investment for anyone serious about optimizing their recovery.

Who This is Best For

This duvet’s advanced materials make it a perfect fit for some sleepers, but a poor match for others. Here’s how to decide if the Recover+ is right for you.

This Duvet is Best For:

  • Athletes and Physically Active Individuals: If you view sleep as a critical recovery tool, the infrared energy technology from Celliant is designed specifically to aid in this process.
  • Hot Sleepers: The combination of breathable cotton, moisture-wicking Lyocell, and the thermo-regulating properties of Celliant make this an excellent choice for preventing overheating.
  • Tech-Forward Sleepers: For those who love data, wellness gadgets, and optimizing every aspect of their health, this “smart” duvet is a natural fit for your sleep sanctuary.
  • Allergy Sufferers: The synthetic and plant-based fill is hypoallergenic, offering a clean-breathing alternative to natural down and feathers.

You Should Skip This Duvet If:

  • You’re on a Tight Budget: This is a premium-priced duvet. There are many comfortable, high-quality duvets available for significantly less if you don’t need the recovery technology.
  • You Prefer All-Natural Materials: While it contains cotton and plant-based Lyocell, the fill also includes polyester and the Celliant fibers are synthetic. Purists may want to look at wool or 100% down options.
  • You Want a Thick, Cloud-Like Feel: This duvet has a modern, medium-weight drape, not the ultra-lofty, fluffy feel of a traditional down comforter.
  • You Need a Pure White Insert: The duvet has a light grey color, which could potentially show through a very thin or sheer white duvet cover.

On-the-Fence? Consider This:

  • The Investment vs. Benefit: The core question is whether the potential for deeper sleep and faster recovery is worth the price. At roughly $300, it’s an investment. If you consistently struggle with sleep quality or muscle soreness, the potential ROI in terms of well-being could be substantial.
  • The Lack of a Trial Period: Unlike mattresses, Amerisleep does not offer a sleep trial on bedding for hygiene reasons. This makes it a final sale. If you are risk-averse, this might be a deal-breaker. However, its temperature-regulating properties make it suitable for a wide range of climates and sleep styles.

Construction and Materials Deep-Dive

The magic of the Recover+ Duvet lies in its sophisticated blend of materials, where each component serves a distinct purpose. It’s a thoughtful design that moves beyond simple insulation to create an active sleep environment.

Shell Fabric: 54% Cotton, 46% Celliant®

The outer shell has a crisp, smooth hand-feel characteristic of high-quality cotton percale. The cotton ensures classic breathability and comfort against the skin (even through a duvet cover). But nearly half the shell is composed of Celliant-infused fibers. This is critical, as it places the infrared technology as close to your body as possible. Weaving it into the shell, in addition to the fill, ensures maximum efficacy. The light grey color is likely a result of the mineral composition of the Celliant yarn, giving it a unique, technical aesthetic compared to standard stark white inserts.

Fiber Fill: 42% Lyocell, 29% Celliant®, 29% Polyester

The fill is where the duvet’s performance characteristics truly come to life. This carefully balanced trifecta is engineered for thermal regulation and comfort.

  • Lyocell (42%): Often known by the brand name TENCEL™, Lyocell is a powerhouse of bedding technology. Derived from sustainably sourced eucalyptus wood pulp, it’s renowned for its silky-smooth texture and exceptional moisture-wicking capabilities. It can absorb up to 70% more moisture than cotton, pulling sweat away from your body to keep you dry and comfortable. This is a key component in preventing the clammy feeling that can disrupt sleep.
  • Celliant® (29%): This is the active ingredient. Celliant is a non-migrating, proprietary blend of thermo-reactive minerals, such as titanium dioxide and silicon dioxide. These minerals are ground into a fine powder and embedded into the core of polyester fibers. They work by absorbing ambient body heat (energy) and converting it into a different wavelength—infrared light. This infrared energy is then reflected back to the body. This is the same type of energy used in infrared saunas and is associated with temporarily increasing local blood flow, which can help tissues recover and regulate temperature more effectively.
  • Polyester (29%): The polyester component provides durable structure and loft to the duvet. It resists clumping, helps the duvet retain its shape after washing, and is inherently hypoallergenic. It’s the reliable workhorse that supports the more advanced fibers in the blend.

Design and Stitching

The duvet features a standard sewn-through box stitch pattern. This creates dozens of small compartments to ensure the fill materials are evenly distributed across the entire duvet and do not shift or clump into one area. This is essential for consistent warmth and performance. Additionally, sturdy loops are sewn into each of the four corners, allowing you to easily tie it to the inside of your duvet cover to prevent it from bunching up during the night.

Feel, Performance, and Overall Experience

Amerisleep Recover+ Duvet Review (2026): Pros, Cons & Verdict — construction cross-section
Layer breakdown of a typical luxury hybrid build

Moving from technical specs to real-world use, the Recover+ Duvet delivers a unique experience. It forgoes the traditional plushness of down for a more functional, responsive feel.

Tactile Feel and Weight

The duvet doesn’t have the airy, cloud-like volume of a high-fill-power down comforter. Instead, it has a more streamlined profile with a pleasant, medium weight. It drapes across the body comfortably, providing a sense of security without feeling suffocating or heavy. The shell is smooth and quiet, with none of the crinkling sounds sometimes associated with down-proof cotton. In a Full/Queen size, it weighs just under 8 pounds, a perfect middle ground that provides substance without trapping excessive air and heat.

Performance and Temperature Regulation

This is where the duvet truly shines and justifies its price. It performs less like a blanket and more like a piece of technical apparel. On cool nights, it provides ample warmth. However, its real talent is revealed as your body temperature fluctuates. The combination of moisture-wicking Lyocell and heat-dispersing Celliant works to actively manage the microclimate under the covers. Instead of waking up hot and throwing the duvet off, you’re more likely to remain in a stable, comfortable temperature zone. It excels at cutting the “peaks and valleys” of sleeping temperature, leading to more sound, uninterrupted rest.

The Celliant Effect: Is It Noticeable?

You will not “feel” the infrared energy working—there is no tingling, warmth, or other physical sensation. The effect is sub-perceptual and cumulative. The best evidence of it working is in the results. After a few nights, some users report waking up with less morning stiffness or soreness. Athletes might notice a marginal improvement in recovery after hard workouts. The most universal feedback is simply a feeling of being more refreshed and “well-rested” upon waking. It’s a tool for sleep quality optimization, and its benefits are felt in the outcome (better mornings) rather than the process (the feeling at night).

How It Compares to a Traditional Down Duvet

The Amerisleep Recover+ and a classic down duvet both aim to provide comfort, but their philosophies are worlds apart. The Recover+ is a piece of active sleep technology, while a down duvet is a passive insulator rooted in natural luxury. Choosing between them depends entirely on your personal priorities: modern performance vs. traditional plushness.

A down duvet is prized for its exceptional warmth-to-weight ratio and its lofty, “cloud-like” feel that envelops the sleeper. However, it can sleep hot for many, as its primary function is insulation, not ventilation. Down can also be a potent allergen for some and often requires professional dry cleaning. The Recover+ Duvet, by contrast, is fully machine washable and hypoallergenic. Its strength lies in its breathability and active temperature management, making it far better suited for hot sleepers or couples with different temperature preferences. While it doesn’t offer the same pillowy loft as down, it provides a consistent, recovery-focused sleep environment that a down duvet simply cannot.

Feature Amerisleep Recover+ Duvet Traditional Down Duvet
Primary Materials Cotton, Celliant®, Lyocell, Polyester Blend Goose or Duck Down & Feathers, Cotton Shell
Key Benefit Infrared Energy for Recovery & Temp Regulation Unmatched Insulation and Lightweight Loft
Feel & Weight Modern, medium-weight, smooth drape Lofty, airy, cloud-like, and puffy

Hypoallergenic Yes, all materials are hypoallergenic No, down and feathers are common allergens
Care & Maintenance Machine wash cold, tumble dry low Typically dry clean only; can be difficult to maintain

5-Year Total Cost of Ownership

A premium duvet is an investment, so it’s important to look beyond the initial sticker price. The Amerisleep Recover+ Duvet (Full/Queen) costs $290 at the time of writing. While not insignificant, analyzing the long-term value provides a clearer picture.

Let’s break down the cost over a conservative 5-year lifespan:

  • Initial Purchase Price: $290
  • Maintenance Costs (5 Years): $0 (assumes home laundering, no dry cleaning required)
  • Total Cost over 5 Years: $290

When you divide that cost over the total number of nights, the value becomes apparent:

$290 / (365 nights x 5 years) = $290 / 1,825 nights ≈ $0.16 per night.

For less than the cost of a single cup of coffee per week, you gain access to a piece of advanced sleep technology every single night. The primary drawback in the value equation is the 1-year warranty, which is short for a product in this category. Competing high-end duvets from other brands often carry 3- to 5-year warranties. However, the duvet’s durable materials and construction should, with proper care (always using a duvet cover), extend its functional life well beyond the 5-year mark. The true value lies not in its longevity alone, but in the potential for improved physical recovery and more consistent, restorative sleep—a benefit many would consider priceless.

Delivery, Trial, Warranty, and Return Policy

Navigating the logistics of a high-end bedding purchase is crucial. Here’s what you can expect from Amerisleep when you order the Recover+ Duvet.

  • Delivery: The duvet ships free via standard ground and typically arrives within a week of your order. It comes compressed in a box, but inside you’ll find a reusable, zippered bag. This is a thoughtful inclusion, perfect for storing the duvet during warmer months or for keeping an old comforter.
  • Sleep Trial: There is NO sleep trial. This is the most important policy detail to understand. For health and hygiene reasons, Amerisleep does not accept returns on bedding items like pillows or duvets once they have been opened. This purchase is considered final sale.
  • Warranty: The Recover+ Duvet is covered by a 1-year limited warranty. This protects you against manufacturing defects, such as faulty seams coming undone or issues with the stitching. It does not cover normal wear and tear, stains, or damage from improper use or laundering. While a 1-year warranty is standard for many bedding items, it feels a bit short for a product at this premium price point.
  • Return Policy: Given the lack of a sleep trial, returns are generally only possible if the product arrives damaged or if you receive the wrong item. You cannot use the duvet and then decide to return it. This policy underscores the importance of being certain about your purchase before you buy.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Celliant and how does it work?

Celliant is a patented fiber that embeds thermo-reactive minerals into its core. These minerals capture your natural body heat and convert it into infrared energy, which is then reflected back to your body. This process has been shown by the FDA to be a medical device and general wellness product that can temporarily increase local blood flow and improve cellular oxygenation, aiding in recovery and temperature regulation.

Can you feel the Celliant technology working?

No, you cannot physically feel the infrared energy. The effect is sub-perceptual and there is no tingling, heating, or cooling sensation. The benefits are measured in the outcome: potentially waking up feeling more refreshed, experiencing less muscle soreness, and sleeping more soundly through the night without temperature-related disruptions.

Do you need a special duvet cover for the Amerisleep Recover+?

No, any standard duvet cover of the correct size will work perfectly. In fact, using a duvet cover is highly recommended to protect the duvet from dirt and oils and reduce the need for washing. The infrared technology from Celliant is effective even when passing through the fabric of a duvet cover.

Is the Amerisleep Recover+ Duvet noisy?

No, it is very quiet. The soft cotton-blend shell and the silky fill materials do not produce the crinkling or rustling sounds that are sometimes associated with down-proof shells or certain synthetic comforters. It allows for a peaceful, noise-free sleep environment.

Is the Recover+ Duvet worth the money?

This depends entirely on your priorities. If you are a budget-conscious shopper looking for a simple comforter, there are more affordable options. However, if you are an athlete, a hot sleeper, or someone who prioritizes sleep as a key component of health and recovery, the advanced materials and tangible performance benefits can make it a very worthwhile investment in your overall well-being.

Verdict

The Amerisleep Recover+ Duvet is a successful execution of a high-concept idea. It moves beyond the passive role of traditional bedding and transforms into an active tool for better sleep and recovery. The thoughtful combination of Celliant for infrared energy, Lyocell for moisture management, and cotton for breathability creates a superb thermoregulating environment that is particularly beneficial for athletes and hot sleepers. It delivers on its promise of a more balanced, restorative sleep, free from the temperature spikes that plague users of lesser duvets.

However, it is not without its drawbacks. The premium price, short 1-year warranty, and lack of a sleep trial make it a considered purchase that requires commitment. This is not the duvet for everyone. But for the discerning sleeper who has tried everything else and is willing to invest in cutting-edge technology for measurable results, the Amerisleep Recover+ Duvet earns our 4.8/5 editorial rating and a strong recommendation. It’s a niche product, but within that niche, it’s a category leader.

The Nectar mattress is one of the most popular and highly rated online mattress brands. My Nectar Lush Findings

The Nectar Lush comes shipped in a box that is a bit bigger than the original Nectar box because it is a thicker mattress, coming in a 12 inches vs the 10-inch original.

Nectar Lush Box

I thought that this mattress would take longer to come to shape because it is softer than the original and there’s just more foam that needs to decompress, but that wasn’t really the case. I was able to lay on this mattress about 45 minutes after opening it. Yes, there was some off-gassing but not as much as I would expect with an all-foam mattress. Keep in mind that you may notice more off-gassing than me because everyone has different sensitivities but even so, I would expect most of the off-gassing to dissipate within 24 hours.

Nectar Lush Squish

Here you can see how easy it sinks down into the mattress. You will notice the pressure relief right away. It will also be slower to recover but since it does contour so well, you won’t be moving around much anyway.

nectar lush top squish

There isn’t as much edge support on this mattress as a typical spring mattress but I didn’t feel like I was going to roll off either. A lot of people ask me about edge support because they put their shoes on at the side of the bed. I’m not sure why that’s such a big concern since your bed is primarily used for sleeping but nevertheless it is a concern I hear more than I would have expected. So although you may not enjoy putting your shoes on with this mattress, the trade-off is that it sleeps well.

nectar lush side sit

Here’s a picture of me lying on my side. You can easily see how this mattress contours.

nectar side sleep

Here’s you can see me lying on my back. This mattress is great for back sleeping too.

Nectar back sleeping

I didn’t really like sleeping on my stomach on this mattress. I would go with the original Nectar instead if you are a dedicated stomach sleeper.

My Final Thoughts on the Nectar Lush

Shopping for a new mattress is more confusing than ever. There are hundreds of online brands to choose from, not to mention the hundreds of brands available in stores. However, Nectar has made a name for itself as a brand that consumers and reviewers choose. Not only because it feels great but you also have an industry-leading 365-night trial and a 10-year warranty. I recommend the Nectar Lush for people that know they like the feel of memory foam and want a softer mattress that is great at relieving pressure points. Side sleepers will reap the most benefit from this mattress followed by back sleepers. Stomach sleepers should take a look at the original Nectar instead.

Frequently Asked Questions About Sleep Chairs Guide (2026): Key Considerations & Models

Is a sleep chair worth it for small spaces?

Yes, a sleep chair is definitely worth it for small spaces, as it offers a versatile solution to maximize living arrangements without sacrificing style or comfort. They are ideal for minimalists who need a dual-purpose piece of furniture, converting easily from a comfortable chair to a bed for guests. This functionality allows you to maintain a clutter-free environment while still being prepared for overnight visitors.

How does the D&D Futon Furniture Black Sleeper Chair compare to the Giantex 5-Position Adjustable Convertible Flip Chair?

The D&D Futon Furniture Black Sleeper Chair prioritizes a metal-frame-free design with high-density foam for a modern aesthetic, while the Giantex 5-Position Adjustable Convertible Flip Chair offers a more versatile five-position adjustment for various lounging needs and spinal health. The D&D Futon is noted for its comfort in both sitting and sleeping, though it can get warm, whereas the Giantex provides flexibility in use with quality foam and fabric, but may be harder for older adults to adjust. Both offer unique benefits depending on your specific needs for style versus adjustability.

Who is the Homall Single Recliner Chair best for?

The Homall Single Recliner Chair is best for individuals seeking a sophisticated and practical seating option that provides excellent comfort and support for single occupancy. Its design blends elegance with functionality, making it suitable for adding a touch of class to any room. With double-thick foam padding and a sturdy steel frame, it's a reliable choice for long-term comfortable lounging.

What are the downsides of the Stone & Beam Kristin Loveseat?

A notable downside of the Stone & Beam Kristin Loveseat is its lesser suitability for longer sleepovers, despite having a convenient pull-out twin bed for guests. Additionally, though stylish and low-maintenance, its primary function remains as a loveseat rather than a full-time bed replacement.

La-Z-Boy is a household name and chances are that you or your grandparents had one of their recliners for watching TV or napping. La-Z Boy was started in 1927 in Monroe Michigan. Their first product was a wood slat porch chair which eventually was upholstered and became a staple in living room furniture. Over the years as the company grew they expanded into other furniture and most recently, mattresses. It’s not always easy for legacy brands like La-Z-Boy to enter a new category, especially the online mattress startup category but they do have a lot going for them including a network of stores nationwide

My La-Z-Boy Mattress Findings

The La-Z-Boy Lux feels great right out of the box. It also comes to shape right out of the box too and I attribute that to the quality foams used inside. I found this mattress to have a medium to medium-soft feel. As you can see from the picture below, it’s easy to push my hand into this mattress.

sitting on lazy boy

Here’s another view of me pressing into the mattress. The energex layer of foam is really forgiving and contours quickly but also recovers quickly. Having the spring system helps with support so it’s OK that this mattress is on the softer side, you still get really good support.

lazy boy squish

Here’s another shot with my 14 lb. bowing ball to illustrate sinkage and contouring. The springs and energex foam also help this mattress with bounce so its easy to switch positions at night.

la-z-boy sinkage

The cover is made with a proprietary material called iClean which is stain resistant. I recently bought a stain-resistant recliner from La-Z-Boy and it does a phenomenal job of repelling stains from my 2 kids and dogs. Not only is it stain resistant but the fabric is still stretchy allowing you to get all the benefits of the contouring comfort layers.

la-z-boy fabric

Here you can see how well it contours for side sleeping. My shoulders really sank into this mattress which helps tremendously with comfort. I prefer to sleep on my side but if a mattress is too firm, I will end up on my stomach which is not an ideal sleep position. Inevitably I will change positions multiple times per night, which most people do, but I changing positions on this mattress is super easy because you have the springs system and foam that recovers quickly. I didn’t feel like I had to catapult myself out of my position.

la-z-boy side sleeping

Here’s a look at what’s going on inside the mattress when you apply pressure. Now when you are lying on it, the springs will be more engaged. However keep in mind that the perimeter coils, which I’m pressing down on are firmer than the inside coils to provide better edge support.

Pressing La-Z-Boy

My Lay-Z-Boy Recommendation

Overall this mattress is a solid contender with the other online mattress brands. Pricewise it is more expensive than some of the other hybrids on the market but it is made in the USA using premium foams, springs and cover fabrics so it should have a great lifespan. It also comes with a 100 night trial as many of the online brands have. So you can certainly return it if you don’t like it and because it is Lay-Z-Boy, you can expect good customer service from a company that has been around almost 100 years.

I recommend this mattress for side sleepers that tend to sleep hot and change positions frequently. The mattress is versatile enough to accommodate back sleeping and occasional stomach sleeping.

Ettitude Sheets Review (2026): Pros, Cons & Verdict

Ettitude Sheets Review
Bottom line

Ettitude sheets provide luxurious comfort and breathability, serving as an excellent replacement for traditional silk. The sustainability and quality offer a premium experience despite the higher price point.

Ettitude sheets are smooth silky bamboo sheets that are breathable and super soft. They are the perfect alternative to silk. If you haven’t tried lyocell bamboo sheets, then you’re missing out, especially if you tend to sleep hot. There are many materials now aside from cotton that are designed to help you sleep more comfortably. Bamboo sheets are probably the closest in feel to silk without all the high maintenance and cost that comes with silk sheets. Aside from sheets, Ettitude also offers duet inserts, pajamas, and towels. I received a free duvet and a summer weight duvet insert so I could see how they compare to other popular bamboo sheet brands.

Ordering Your Ettitude Bedding

You can order these sheets directly through the Ettitude website. When you order these sheets you get free shipping as well as a 30-day trial. Just keep in mind that the 30-day trial is only for bedding and not for any clothing or duvet inserts. My Ettitude Sheets arrived in a box like the one below. Ettitude Box Inside I found the duvet insert which comes in bamboo packaging to keep the duvet clean. You can also use it to store your duvet when not in use which I highly recommend over plastic as the bamboo is breathable and will keep the duvet insert fresh. My Ettitude Findings

I really enjoy bamboo sheets in the summer months since they are so light and airy but they are also great all year round, especially if you just tend to sleep hot in general. A big mistake is to buy some bamboo sheets and use them with a heavy comforter thinking it will solve your hot sleeping problems. Your best bet is to get the lightweight, Whitehaven comforter so that you still have great, cozy-looking bed without the need to kick the comforter off a few minutes after getting under the covers. Here’s a picture of the comforter out of the box. As you can see it is thin and won’t trap that much heat but is still something that covers you. Ettitude Comforter The comforter has stitched in loops on all four corners so that you can tie your duvet cover to it. duvet loop The Ettitude duvet cover also has loops so they can be tied together. duvet cover loop The duvet cover also has buttons at the bottom. I usually prefer a zipper but these buttons were easy to snap and didn’t take much time. duvet cover buttons Here’s a picture of the comforter with bamboo duvet cover on my sofa bed. Duvet on bed

My Ettitude Recommendation

Bamboo Sheets are a great choice not only for hot sleepers but for anyone who prefers a super soft and silky feel. I have found that bamboo sheets are more prone to wrinkling than even cotton sheets so make sure you put them on your bed right after taking them out of the dryer. I really don’t mind if they look wrinkled. For me, it’s all about the feel. I like that Ettitude has a whole bedding solution. They are also about the middle of the road in terms of price, not too expensive but not exactly cheap. But they aren’t cheap feeling sheets either and should last longer than the bargain bamboo sheets you can find on Amazon. In addition, you can take advantage of the 30 night trial with the sheets to make sure you absolutely love them.

Also, the premium quality is reflected in the price, which may be a consideration for some buyers compared to more traditional bedding options.

How to Sleep Better with a Cold

Frequently Asked Questions About How to Sleep Better with a Cold

Is taking a hot bath really effective for sleeping better with a cold?

Yes, taking a steamy hot bath before bed is an effective way to ease discomfort and promote better sleep when you have a cold. The warm vapor helps open nasal passages and loosen mucus, while the heat can combat chills and alleviate congestion. This method also provides a relaxing way to wind down, making it easier to drift off to sleep.

What kind of tea should I drink to help sleep with a cold?

You should choose herbal teas like chamomile or ginger, especially those that are caffeine-free, to help you sleep with a cold. These teas can soothe a sore throat and combined with honey, act as a natural cough suppressant. The warm beverage also helps clear sinuses, similar to the relief provided by a streaming bowl of soup.

How does a humidifier help with cold symptoms for sleeping?

A humidifier helps by introducing moisture into the air, which alleviates irritation in your sinuses and throat. Dry air often exacerbates cold symptoms, so adding humidity can make a significant difference. Remember to keep the humidifier clean and change the water daily to prevent bacteria and mold buildup.

What's the best sleep position when I have a cold?

The best sleep position when you have a cold involves using a foam wedge pillow to elevate your upper body, rather than just stacking pillows. This method promotes better drainage from your nasal passages and helps prevent postnasal drip, which can be worsened by sleeping on your back. You can also try lying on the side opposite your blockages for added comfort.

Where can I find products to help me sleep better in San Diego?

While this article focuses on remedies for a cold, finding the right mattress and sleep accessories can significantly improve your overall sleep quality. You can explore a variety of sleep solutions at the Yawnder showroom in Encinitas, CA. Our experts can help you find products that support a comfortable and restful night, regardless of whether you're dealing with a cold.

What are the downsides of relying solely on over-the-counter remedies for cold-related sleep issues?

While over-the-counter remedies can be incredibly helpful for managing cold symptoms, they address the symptoms rather than the underlying cause of your sleep issues. It's important to combine them with comforting strategies like hot baths, herbal teas, and maintaining an optimal sleep environment for truly restful sleep. Staying hydrated also remains crucial for recovery and comfort.

Frequently Asked Questions About Best Bed Risers for Extra Storage

Are bed risers worth it for small bedrooms?

Yes, bed risers are absolutely worth it for small bedrooms as they create invaluable extra storage space beneath your bed. By elevating your bed, you can neatly store seasonal clothing, boxes, or other items, transforming clutter into an organized area. This makes them a practical solution for maximizing every square inch of your bedroom.

Who are bed risers best for, considering accessibility?

Bed risers are best for individuals with limited mobility who find it challenging to get in and out of a low bed. They elevate the mattress to a more comfortable height, making daily routines easier and reducing physical strain. This feature can significantly improve independence and daily comfort.

How do bed risers improve airflow compared to a bed directly on the floor?

Bed risers improve airflow by creating a significant gap between the bottom of your bed and the floor, enhancing air circulation. This improved airflow is crucial for preventing the buildup of mold and mildew, especially beneficial in humid climates like San Diego. Maintaining proper ventilation beneath your bed contributes to a healthier sleeping environment.

What are the main downsides to using bed risers?

The main downsides of using bed risers include potential stability risks, weight limit concerns, and possible floor damage. Incorrect installation can lead to a wobbly bed, exceeding weight limits can cause collapse, and certain materials like metal risers might scratch hardwood floors. It is important to choose compatible risers and ensure proper setup.

Are bed risers good for people with acid reflux?

Yes, bed risers can be good for people with acid reflux because elevating the head of the bed can help alleviate symptoms. By raising specific bed legs, you can create an incline that helps prevent stomach acid from flowing back into the esophagus. This offers a simple and effective method for relief without needing an adjustable bed.

Where can I see different types of bed risers in person?

While Yawnder specializes in mattresses, you can research various bed riser types and their features online to understand your options before purchasing. Our team can help discuss how different bed heights might affect mattress feel. Most home goods stores in the San Diego area will also display a selection of bed risers.

Rest Smart Bed Review

Bottom line

The Rest Bed is a revolutionary mattress featuring dynamically adjusting firmness, providing personalized support through air chambers and pressure-sensing fabric. It is ideal for sleepers seeking customizable comfort and pressure relief, but those preferring a simpler, lower-tech setup may find it complex. Its unique ability to adjust firmness across different zones makes it stand out.

The Rest Bed is Dead! Too complicated probably. Check out Eight Sleep Instead.

The Rest Bed is a performance mattress that can dynamically change firmness as you sleep in order for you to get optimal support and pressure relief as you change positions at night, it is unlike any mattress I have previously reviewed. This is achieved through the use of air chambers that inflate and deflate throughout the night in specific areas of the mattress based on the feedback received from a pressure-sensing fabric. You also have the option to manually set firmness throughout the mattress.

Completely different than any other mattress we have previously reviewed. Automatically adjust firmness throughout the night as you move and change positions. Yes, there are other brands that offer this but only ReST, as far as I know, allows you to change the pressure in distinct zones.

Unboxing and Overview of the ReST Mattress

Below is a video overview of the mattress from delivery, setup, and my thoughts about sleeping on it. Please note that ReST no longer supplies the 2 tablets. Instead you can use your phone to control it which I found to be more convenient. It also takes up much less space on your nightstand.

The Mattress comes in a large box. Inside you will find all the pumps and hoses as well as the mattress itself which is folded in half.

Rest mattress box

Here’s what you will find inside the box.

inside rest box

Here’s everything out of the box.

rest out of the box

How Much Does the ReST Mattress Cost?

Below are the current prices of the ReST mattress. The mattress comes with a 90-day risk-free return policy. No restocking fees, no return fees. Should you decide to keep it you are backed by a 10-year warranty that covers not only the mattress but also the mechanical components such as the air pumps and hoses.

[table id=99 /]

Construction of the Rest Bed

The cover is made of a polyester fabric that feels like athletic wear. ReST calls this layer, “Sleep Skin”. It’s stretchy and allows the foam underneath to fully conform to your body.

rest cover

rest sinkage

Underneath that is a 4-inch layer of cooling gel foam which I found to be extra soft. Sort of like dough. If this was on a traditional foam or hybrid mattress, it probably wouldn’t work but since you can adjust the firmness underneath I appreciated the extra pressure relief on the top layer.

rest foam layer

Underneath the foam layer is a sensor system knitted into an antimicrobial fabric. This, “Smart Sensor” has 1,000 data points per side that deliver pressure data to the pump and connected app.

Underneath the Smart Sensor are 5 medical-grade polyurethane air chambers that make up the different zones of the mattress. All of this is encased in border made of rigid foam for optimal edge support.

rest zones

How to Setup your ReST Mattress

The setup process is a bit more involved than your typical mattress. Once you place the mattress on your bed you find that it looks like a deflated air mattress.

setting up rest mattress

Next you’ll need to connect the hoses to the air pumps. Connecting the hoses is easy. Each group of hoses gets connected to a separate pump and the hoses are labeled for each zone of the mattress. At this point, Don’t worry about which is right or left.

rest pumps

Once the hoses are connected and the pumps are plugged in, the mattress will start inflating. The motor is very quiet and you will hardly hear it working. It took about 15 minutes for the mattress to fully inflate.

connecting rest hoses

While you are waiting for the mattress to inflate, you can begin setting up the app on your phone or tablet.

rest app

My ReST Bed Findings

Since this mattress can be adjusted for firmness, it can be both soft and firm. That said, I found the top layer of foam to be extra soft. The top layer needs to be super soft because it allows you to get the full effect of the zone chambers underneath.

rest sinkage

I tried the mattress at all settings and really enjoyed the lumbar support and the ability to drop the pressure in the zone where my shoulders are. I also tried the automatic setting which can take some getting used to since you will feel the mattress inflate and deflate as you move. Long term I would probably use a specific setting that’s optimal for me which would prevent me from having to move around in the first place.

edge support

I found the app to be rough around the edges. The experience of setting it up the first time was a little tiring. When you first launch the app you’ll have to update it and you will find yourself connecting to your wifi network multiple times to get the mattress working with the app. The app starts out in automatic mode which means it automatically responds to how your weight is distributed across the mattress. It gets these readings from a pressure-sensitive matt built inside the mattress. The app does a great job of showing off pressure points in real-time and which zones are inflated more than the others. The app also lets you switch to manual mode to control the amount of air in each zone by sliding them up and down.

Conclusion

If you have tried multiple mattresses with different constructions and still aren’t finding the right balance of support and pressure relief, it may be time to consider the ReST Mattress. It probably wouldn’t be the first mattress I would try given the price but if you have tried multiple brands and constructions and are still not getting the right feel, then the ReST would certainly be worth a shot. It is unlike any other mattress I have tried. There are other mattresses on the market that will adjust firmness with an air chamber but the ReST mattress is the only mattress I know of that has distinct zones and that’s where this mattress and the technology really shines. When I sleep on my side, my shoulders often get sore and I enjoyed being able to firm up my lumbar area while decreasing pressure towards my shoulders. This is something that no other mattress offers and for that reason alone it is an excellent choice for side sleepers.

CBD Oil has come under the spotlight, especially in the US, in recent times and has been touted for its many health benefits. Its association with marijuana, however, is still perceived negatively by many who ergo keep this wonderful oil at bay. known cbd oil benefitsCBD Oil Benefits for Diabetes and Obesity

A whopping 100 million adults in the US are now officially either diabetic or pre-diabetic, and the epidemic seems to be creeping into minors as well. A study in the Journal of the American Medical Association has revealed that over 32% of American men and over 35% of American women are obese (more than just overweight). While everyone has a row about whether a plant-based diet is a way to go or a ketogenic diet is truly what can help reverse type 2 diabetics, we should not overlook CBD oil benefits for both diabetes and obesity. So, what do the studies say?
  • A 2011 American Journal of Epidemiology study found that rates of obesity in a sample group as large as 52,000 cannabis users were only 1/3rd the prevalent rates in the general population.
  • Another study found that the use of CBD resulted in a lowering of the diabetes incidence rate in mice.
  • Research supports that CBD aides in weight loss by acting as a catalyst in the conversion of white fat into brown fat.

Improved Cholesterol Profile and Reduced Risk of Heart Disease

A Staggering 1 in 4 deaths in the US is due to heart disease. Again, while lifestyle, diet and genetic predisposition are some of the main factors that determine your risk of a heart attack or heart disease. • Initial clinical studies on animals also proved that CBD oil in low orally ingested doses had a cardioprotective effect during the induction of a heart attack.

Lowered Risk of Cancer

CBD oil benefits are several, but there is a growing amount of evidence which is starting to suggest that it might have some tumor-fighting properties as well.
  • Animal trials conducted in 2012 suggests that animals that were medicated with CBD oil actually responded positively in terms of a reduction in the likelihood of developing colon cancer. These animals were deliberately given carcinogens for the sake of the test.
  • Numerous studies have already shown that THC doesn’t only prevent tumors but also helps in preventing them in the first place.
  • A 2015 data analysis done by scientists where the records of 84,000 male patients revealed that patients that had used cannabis, and not tobacco had a 45% lower bladder cancer rate than the other group.

One of the ways in which CBD oil does this is by removal of damaged cell, and another is through improved efficiency of mitochondria. Furthermore, CBD Oil is also said to reduce glutamate toxicity which is responsible for over firing of brain cells by over – stimulation which causes pre – mature cell death.
  • A recent study suggests that CBD oil benefits include having an anti-inflammatory effect on the brain.
  • Another study, which was done in 2008, in lower dosages, CBD oil actually stimulated the birth and development of new brain cells, even in older brains.
  • CBD oil benefits the brain and protects against Alzheimer’s and other nerve-related degenerative diseases.

Protection Against Bone Disease

The bone that is aging is replaced by the new bone substrate, and the rate at which this happens annually is approximately 10% in humans. This process is natural and critical for strong, healthy bones and skeletal framework altogether. There are numerous CBD oil benefits when it comes to healthy bones in humans.
  • A study using CBD oil showed that CBD oil actually reduced the build-up for destructive bone compounds that work by destroying bone-building compounds.
  • CBD explicitly also stimulates the process of healing of broken bones at an accelerated rate, as per another study.
  • Another CBD oil benefit is protection against recurring fracture in a bone that has already been fractured once and is vulnerable to another. This study revealed that fractured and healed bones in the CBD focus group were 35% stronger, on average, that the non – CBD counterpart.

Fights Skin Ailments and Helps Keep Skin Healthy

In human physiology, the skin is the organ with the single highest concentration of CB2 receptors. CBD oil can literally be applied topically on the skin, and there are a multitude of CBD oil benefits for the skin when it is used this way.
  • It helps repair against free radical damage, reverse free radical damage and could also prevent free radical damage on the skin to a certain extent as per studies.
  • It can help in the proper regulation of oil from the sebaceous glands of the skin

Worry not, Cannabis when used topically cannot be psychoactive, and so you will not experience any “high.”

However, it must be noted that some studies have shown that in certain patients, Cannabis can have a reverse effect and actually increase anxiety and even lead to panic attacks. In general, CBD oil is shown to reduce stress-related activity in the Limbic and Paralimbic parts of the brain directly. Mend Sleep Mattress Review (2026): Pros, Cons & Verdict

Mend Mattress Review
Bottom line

The Mend Sleep mattress is a soft hybrid designed for exceptional pressure relief with solid edge support. This mattress is best for side sleepers who prefer a plush feel, while those needing a firmer surface may want to consider other options or the firmer layer swap. Its innovative zipper system allows for comfort adjustments, a significant value addition.

Yawnder verdictExcellent soft hybrid for side sleepers · 4.8/5

The Mend mattress is a hybrid, foam and spring mattress created by a husband and wife from Charleston, South Carolina. This mattress was designed to provide superior pressure relief while still maintaining adequate edge support. Unlike most online brands, Mend does not have a trial period. Instead, they give you the option to swap out the top layer for something firmer or softer depending on your preferences. I found this mattress to be soft right out of the box so chances are if you don’t like a soft mattress, you will want to opt for a firmer setting.

Overview of the Mend Mattress

Below is a video overview of the Mend Sleep mattress. You’ll notice that the top cover has a separate zipper that houses the foam layers making it easy to swap out and exchange. You can also flip the foam layer over for a different feel.

Construction of the Mend Sleep Mattress

construction

Below are the construction details as listed on their website:

4-inch Comfort Layer™ – comprised of two unique foams, when paired, provide pillow-like softness and custom support.

8-inch hybrid foam-spring core – with almost 1,000 springs per mattress (king), these individually wrapped coils respond to your unique body shape to offer intuitive support and relief. The springs are surrounded by two layers of support foam, engineered to provide long-lasting resilience.

My Mend Sleep Findings

Here you can see just how much this mattress sinks. With 4 inches of foam at the top layer, you really do get a pillow top feel.

squish

Here’s another shot with showing sinkage with my 14 lb. bowling ball.

sink

I found this mattress super comfortable while sleeping on my side. I have broad shoulders and the mattress sank enough so that I felt great pressure relief with my shoulder and hips.

elbow

Here you can see that I am balanced out well. I could probably use a thicker pillow but my shoulders felt great.

contour

A big reason for the creation of this mattress is that the founders felt that most of the competition did not offer adequate edge support. While that’s probably true for some of the all-foam mattresses, having a zoned coil system like the one found in the Mend mattress does the job well. You will still sink into the mattress at the edge but will notice more support around the perimeter because of the firmer coils at the edge.

shoes

Here you can see the zipper system. This probably was an added cost but well worth it, especially if they will be working with you on comfort exchanges.

zipper

Below I unzipped the cover to expose the comfort foam layer. You can see to separate colors each a different firmness. That said, each layer is still relatively soft.

foam

My Mend Sleep Recommendation

I think the Mend Sleep mattress is ideal for side sleepers that aren’t getting adequate pressure relief from their current mattress and want a softer feel. While you can swap out the layers for something firmer, I found the out of the box firmness to be on the softer side. It seems that Mend was aiming for more of a pillow top, luxury feel with their mattress. Since a queen retails for $,1,650 it is a bit on the pricier end of the spectrum compared to other hybrids online but if you are looking for lots of pressure relief while still getting support from a quality spring system, this mattress is worth a look.

Its design aims to enhance the sleeping experience by keeping you cool and providing adaptive comfort. Yawnder's testing suggests it's ideal for those who enjoy a medium-feel foam mattress, despite its hybrid construction.

For a hands-on assessment, customers can visit Yawnder's Encinitas showroom.

Is the Propel mattress good for hot sleepers?

Yes, the Propel mattress is well-suited for hot sleepers due to its advanced cooling technologies. It incorporates a CopperFlex layer with TitanCool, a phase change material designed to draw excess body heat away. Additionally, its Upcycle Performance Cover transforms body heat into restorative energy, contributing to a cooler sleep environment.

How does the Propel mattress feel, despite being a hybrid?

The Propel mattress predominantly feels like a foam mattress, despite its hybrid construction with encased coils. This is attributed to the generous 3 inches of foam layering on top of the coil system, combined with a supportive foam base. Construction of the Origin Mattress

Below are the specs as listed on their website. What stood out to me when opening the mattress is that it is relatively light. For people that move frequently, this is a bonus. This is a rather basic construction, being 2 layers of foam but still does a great job with pressure relief.

My Origin mattress findings

This mattress is just slightly on the softer end of the spectrum. Here’s a picture of my 16 lb. bowling ball on the mattress to illustrate sinkage.

Here’s another shot with me pushing into the mattress. This mattress is only 8 inches thick so if you are a heavier person I wouldn’t advise jumping into bed as you could bottom out on it.

My Polysleep Origin Recommendation

The Origin is a great choice for the budget shopper. Even though it is less expensive than the competition, you are still getting high-quality foam that has antimicrobial properties. It is also relatively breathable for a foam mattress as they incorporate open-cell foam that will help with airflow and is more responsive than traditional foam.

The purple cover is also machine washable so you could even sleep right on the mattress without sheets if need be, but I wouldn’t advise it as you will want to keep the mattress clean with sheets and a mattress protector.

If you are someone who tends to move every few years or maybe going away to college, this is a great choice. It will be easy to move from place to place and feels great without a high price tag.
