Saatva FAQ

Which firmness should I choose?

Back: Luxury Firm. Stomach at or above 200 lb: Firm. Side: Plush Soft for more relief or Luxury Firm for less sink.

Does Saatva work with adjustable bases?

Yes. Choose the 11.5 inch Classic height. The 14.5 inch height is not recommended for adjustables.

How does Saatva handle returns and warranty?

365 night trial. Returns incur about a 99 dollar pickup fee. Lifetime warranty covers manufacturing defects.

Is the Classic good for hot sleepers?

Cooler than most foams thanks to coil airflow. If you sleep very hot, the Saatva Latex Hybrid breathes even more.

Edge support and motion isolation?

Edge support is excellent due to the foam rail. Motion isolation is good for a coil design but all foam mattresses typically isolate more movement.

Bottom line

Want a buoyant supportive feel with excellent edge support and old-school quality? The Saatva Classic belongs on your shortlist.

Cariloha Bamboo Sheets Review 2025

I started sleeping on Cariloha bamboo sheets years ago, before Yawnder even had a showroom. This is the update I wish I had when I first bought them. Below I walk through feel, cooling, durability, my five year long term experience, and how they stack up next to Brooklinen and Boll and Branch for real world use, not just specs on a chart.

Cariloha bamboo sheets on a bed in a bright bedroom

Overall rating 9.0 out of 10. Very soft bamboo sateen feel, calm temperature for hot sleepers, and better than expected durability with normal wash care. Great fit for people who want a cooler and smoother feel than cotton without a slippery silk surface.

Bamboo viscose Sateen weave Cooling focus Lifetime quality guarantee
Cariloha bamboo sheets video review from Yawnder

Bottom line

Cariloha bamboo sheets feel smoother and cooler than most luxury cotton sets I have tested, including some that cost more. They hold up well with gentle care, and the lifetime quality guarantee adds real value. If you sleep warm or want a softer fabric that still feels clean and breathable, they deserve a spot on your short list.

Feel and fit on the bed

Cariloha uses bamboo viscose in a sateen weave around a four hundred thread count. On skin it feels smoother and more fluid than cotton sateen and much softer than cotton percale. The first night you notice that cool, almost lotion like glide when you move, without the slippery feel that some silk sets have.

The fitted sheet has a bit of stretch and a deep pocket design that makes it much easier to get around modern mattresses and pillow tops. On a thick hybrid it hugs the corners instead of fighting you while you pull it down. Once on, it lays flat without a lot of extra fabric bunching top and bottom.

Cariloha bamboo sheets feel scale and fit on mattress

Feel lands in the medium soft to soft zone. If you like crisp hotel cotton this is a different experience. If you want something smoother and cooler, this is the direction to go.

Cooling and moisture control

I sweat test bedding by sleeping under it on warmer nights and tracking how quickly the bed surface comes back to a neutral temperature once I move. Bamboo does well here. Cariloha pulls heat and moisture away from the skin faster than most cotton sets I own.

With Cariloha, I notice fewer wake ups from that hot and sticky feeling in the middle of the night. The fabric feels dry again faster, which matters if you live in a warmer climate or share a bed with another warm sleeper.

Cooling comparison chart for Cariloha, Brooklinen, and Boll and Branch

On my scale Cariloha sits above Brooklinen cotton for cooling and close to the best eucalyptus and performance blends I have tested.

Durability, wash care, and day to day use

Right out of the package the fabric feels very smooth. The real question is what it looks like after years of normal use. Washed on gentle and dried on low, the set I keep in rotation has held up better than I expected.

  • Seams stay tight without loose threads along the hem
  • No major pilling on high pressure zones like the torso and knees
  • Elastic on the fitted sheet still keeps a tight grip on the mattress

Like most sateen, Cariloha will show some light wrinkles out of the dryer. If you smooth it by hand as you put it on the bed, it looks clean enough that I have never felt the need to iron it. If you over dry on high heat, you can shorten the life of any bamboo fabric, so I always recommend low heat or line dry where possible.

Five year long term update

I have lived with Cariloha for about five years now. During that time I have rotated through plenty of other sheet sets in the name of testing. Some looked great for a few months and fell apart quickly. Some held up but never felt all that comfortable after the first few nights. Cariloha has ended up back on my bed more often than I expected.

The original set I tested has seen regular use, not gentle weekend guest room duty. We washed it often, put it on the bed through hotter months, and let pets walk across it. Here is what stands out after that much time.

  • The softness is still there. The fabric has broken in a bit and feels even more relaxed, but it never turned rough or scratchy.
  • The color has held up. The white set still looks bright. Some cheaper bamboo sets start to look tired or gray over time. This one has not.
  • Pilling is minimal. When I compare it next to bargain bamboo sets I picked up from big box stores, the difference is obvious. Those budget sets show fuzz and balling at the knee and elbow zones. The Cariloha set shows slight wear but the surface still looks smooth.
  • Elastic is still strong. The fitted sheet still grabs the corners on deeper mattresses and does not slide up when I sit near the edge.

The main trade off with this kind of smooth bamboo fabric is that it can show tiny snags if you drag something sharp across it. I have only seen a couple of those in five years, mostly from a pet claw that caught the top sheet. They were small enough that they did not affect use, but it is worth mentioning if you have pets who like to knead.

Would I buy another set today knowing what I know after five years. Yes. In fact I already have. When I test cotton sets from Brooklinen or Boll and Branch and then go back to Cariloha, the switch back feels cooler and smoother almost every time.

Brand comparisons and charts

Here is a quick side by side look at how Cariloha compares to Brooklinen and Boll and Branch on the things that matter most day to day.

Feature Cariloha Bamboo Brooklinen Cotton Boll and Branch Organic Cotton
Fabric Bamboo viscose sateen Cotton percale and sateen options Organic cotton percale and sateen
Softness feel Very smooth and fluid, almost silk like without slip Crisp percale or smooth sateen, more traditional feel Soft, weighty cotton with more texture than bamboo
Cooling High cooling and strong moisture pull Good cooling on percale, average on sateen Moderate cooling, more cozy than cool
Price range for queen About one hundred eighty to two hundred twenty dollars About one hundred forty to one hundred eighty dollars Often around three hundred to three hundred fifty dollars
Best fit Hot sleepers and people who want a cooler, smoother feel Shoppers who like classic cotton with clear weave options Buyers who care most about organic cotton and a heavier luxury feel

Cooling Brooklinen
8.2
Cooling Boll and Branch
7.6
Softness Cariloha
9.4
Softness Brooklinen
8.6

9.0

If cooling and a smooth feel are top priority, Cariloha wins. If you want a classic cotton feel or a heavier organic story with a bit more texture, then Brooklinen or Boll and Branch make more sense.

Eco story and materials

Bamboo grows quickly, needs less water than cotton, and does not require pesticides. Cariloha uses bamboo viscose, which means the raw plant is processed into a fiber and then spun into yarn. They describe a closed loop style approach that recycles water and solvents along the way and lean on energy efficient production to lower the overall impact.

Is it perfect. No textile process is. Is it a step up from conventionally grown cotton made with heavy chemical use and more water. In most cases yes. If you want the absolute strict standard for organic cotton and do not care as much about cooling, Boll and Branch is the stronger pick. If you want something cooler with a better story than basic cotton, Cariloha fits that lane.

Price, value, and where Cariloha fits

Cariloha prices move with promotions, but here is the general range I see most often at the time of this update.

  • Queen set usually around one hundred eighty to two hundred twenty dollars
  • King set usually around two hundred twenty to two hundred sixty dollars

That puts Cariloha above most basic cotton sets and below many high end organic cotton brands. When I factor in softness, cooling, and the long term performance of my older set, the value lands in a good place for people who can stretch the budget a bit for better sleep.

FAQ

Do Cariloha sheets sleep cool

Yes. Bamboo viscose has strong moisture pull and breathes better than most cotton sets I test. For warm sleepers this is one of the main reasons to choose Cariloha over a standard cotton set.

Do Cariloha sheets pill

With gentle wash on cool or warm and low heat dry, pilling stays low. After years of use I see less pilling on Cariloha than on lower cost bamboo sets and some cotton sateen sets in my rotation.

Are Cariloha sheets safe for sensitive skin

The bamboo fabric is naturally smooth and non scratchy and many people with sensitive skin like it better than textured cotton. As always, if you have known sensitivities to certain finishes or detergents, check the fiber content and care instructions first.

Do I need a special mattress or base for Cariloha sheets

No. They work on standard mattresses, hybrids, foam beds, and adjustable bases. The fitted sheet pocket is generous enough for most modern mattresses with comfort layers.

How do Cariloha sheets compare to Brooklinen

Brooklinen gives you classic cotton in crisp percale and smoother sateen. Cariloha feels cooler and more fluid. If you want that easy hotel cotton feel, Brooklinen works. If you want something that feels cooler and softer on first contact, Cariloha is the more interesting choice.

How do Cariloha sheets compare to Boll and Branch

Boll and Branch leans into organic cotton, a heavier hand, and a strong ethical story. Cariloha leans into cooling and a smoother feel with bamboo viscose. If organic cotton certification is your main filter, Boll and Branch is the better fit. If cooling is the main pain point, Cariloha takes the lead.

Can I wash Cariloha sheets in a regular machine

Yes. Use a gentle cycle, cool or warm water, and mild detergent. Dry on low heat and avoid overload and harsh chemicals to keep the fibers in good shape.

How I test bedding at Yawnder

Every bedding review on Yawnder comes from direct use, not just reading the spec sheet. For Cariloha that means:

  • Sleeping on the sheets at home across seasons with a mix of foam and hybrid mattresses
  • Comparing feel side by side against Brooklinen and Boll and Branch sets in the same room and on the same bed
  • Repeat wash cycles on gentle with different detergents to see how fast color, softness, and elastic change
  • Heat and moisture checks by tracking how quickly the surface cools after extended contact during warmer nights
  • Five year long term checks, including visual inspection of seams, elastic, and any pilling on the main wear zones

Scores and notes are my own, based on that hands on testing and years of helping people match bedding to how they actually sleep, not just how they imagine they sleep on a product page.

Leesa Mattress Review 2025

Hands-on data from our San Diego showroom with clear scores and straight answers.

Leesa mattress on platform base

8.8/10 — Balanced foam with strong pressure relief and quiet support. Best for side and back sleepers who want an easy win.

Bottom line

Comfort first with a gentle top that eases pressure on shoulders and hips. Cooling is above average for foam. Motion stays low. Edge support has improved over prior years but still trails hybrids.

Test results

  • Spine alignment: 9.1/10
  • Pressure relief: 9.3/10
  • Motion isolation: 9.0/10
  • Cooling: 8.4/10
  • Edge support: 7.9/10
  • Ease of movement: 8.5/10
  • Off-gassing: 8.9/10

Feel and firmness

The Leesa Original measures around medium-firm (6/10) on our scale. The top layer compresses easily but doesn’t bottom out, giving a “hug with lift” feel. Transition foam evens out pressure under hips, so it stays level for side sleepers without sinking too deep for back sleepers.

Leesa mattress sinkage test

Cooling

Compared to typical foam beds, Leesa runs slightly cooler. The top layer of LSA200 foam diffuses heat faster than memory foam, but heavy or hot sleepers may still prefer a hybrid for maximum airflow. In our infrared test, surface temps dropped from 90°F to 82°F within 3 minutes — faster than most all-foam models.

Motion isolation

We measured less than 2 inches of vibration transfer with our drop test, earning Leesa a 9.0/10. Couples should expect minimal movement when shifting or getting in and out of bed. Great for light sleepers who share a bed.

Edge support

Foam edges compress roughly 4 inches when sitting. It’s stable enough for lying near the edge but not ideal for sitting long periods. Overall edge support: 7.9/10.

Pressure relief

Our pressure maps show deep blue (low pressure) zones around the shoulders and hips — a solid result for foam. The top layer evenly distributes weight while the transition foam prevents the spine from bowing. Score: 9.3/10.

Dreampad: Must-Have Pillow for Effortless Sleep

A packaged "dreampad" with a logo featuring a dragonfly and the tagline "sound you can feel!" showcases a person resting their head on a pillow. The packaging highlights Bluetooth and iOS app compatibility, making Dreampad an essential sleep accessory.
[lasso id="141146" link_id="126570" ref="amazing-dreampad-sound-pillow"]

The Dreampad pillow is a unique pillow that uses Intrasound Technology™ to convert sound into gentle vibrations that travel directly to your inner ear. This helps to calm the mind and body, making it easier to fall asleep and stay asleep.

The Dreampad pillow is available in three different firmness levels: soft, medium, and firm. It is also available in a variety of colors to match your bedroom décor.

To use the Dreampad pillow, simply connect it to your smartphone or tablet and play your favorite calming music or nature sounds. The pillow will then convert the sound into gentle vibrations that you can feel, but others cannot hear.

The Dreampad pillow is a great choice for people who have trouble sleeping, as well as for people who simply want to relax and de-stress. It is also a good choice for people who live in noisy environments, as it can help to block out noise and create a more peaceful sleep environment.

Here are some of the benefits of using a Dreampad pillow:

  • Helps you fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer
  • Reduces stress and anxiety
  • Improves sleep quality
  • Blocks out noise
  • Creates a more peaceful sleep environment

If you are looking for a way to improve your sleep, the Dreampad pillow is a great option to consider. It is comfortable, effective, and easy to use.

This past weekend I was given the opportunity to try out the Dreampad pillow. The Dreampad is a pillow that plays music that is only audible to the person lying on it. It uses a unique method called Inrasound Technology. According to their website, here’s how it works:

Intrasound Technology™ replicates this natural process by using electromechanical transducers to convert the electrical signals of the music into vibrations. The vibrations are carried by bone to the area surrounding the inner ear, which plays a key role in our hearing, balance, coordination and our ability to filter out unwanted noise. It is also an area which is connected to our Parasympathetic Nervous System (PNS) through the Vagus Nerve.

The Dreampad has an audio jack built into it and you can plug it directly into your phone or mp3 player. It also has a free app that you can get on the Google or iTunes store that comes with music to help you fall asleep. If you really want to go all out you can also purchase a bluetooth adapter if you would rather the phone be further away from you and you don’t want to deal with cords.

The Dreampad is a relatively new product but they have already conducted some very promising research. Tests on veterans with PTSD have shown that they are able to fall back asleep faster using the pillow and some also have reduced the frequency and severity of nightmares.

Other tests indicate a benefit to children with Autism, ADHD and HRV (heart rate variability).

I have been using the Dreampad for the past 3 nights and love it! The app is very easy to use and all the music is extremely relaxing and not overpowering. You sort of forget the music is playing but at the same time it keeps your mind from wandering and worrying which used to keep me up at night.

This is also the first time I have ever been able to fall asleep with music playing. I normally just use a white noise machine. I woke up at 3am last night and noticed that the music was still on only after I got up to go to the bathroom and laid back down on the pillow.

I am really excited to try ASMR with the Dreampad. I have friends that love ASMR but do not like playing it through a stereo since it can be annoying for a spouse that doesn’t do ASMR. I had the volume on my Dreampad at about 50% and when I lifted my head off the pillow I couldn’t hear anything, neither could my wife sleeping a few inches away.

If you or your child has Autism or ADHD, the Dreampad also has some promising research to indicate that it promotes better rest for Autistic or ADHD individuals. The full report can be found here. This is the first ADHD and Autism pillow I have come across.

Since the Dreampad is so new, I think we are only starting to see what it can really do in terms of benefiting sleep and over all mental health. There’s some promising preliminary studies with the DreamPad that indicate it also helps alleviate symptoms of PTSD and ADHD.

Since the app is free, I imagine they will be updating it on a regular basis with new music.

Dreampad Pillow Research

here is limited research on the Dreampad pillow, but the existing research shows promising results.

One study, conducted by Columbia University Medical Center, found that the Dreampad pillow can help to reduce nighttime awakenings. The study participants were randomly assigned to use the Dreampad pillow, a meditation app, or a sleep hygiene program. The Dreampad pillow group experienced significantly fewer nighttime awakenings than the other two groups.

Another study, conducted by the University of California, San Francisco, found that the Dreampad pillow can help to improve sleep quality and reduce symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in veterans. The study participants were randomly assigned to use the Dreampad pillow or a placebo pillow. The Dreampad pillow group reported significantly better sleep quality and reduced symptoms of PTSD than the placebo group.

While more research is needed to confirm the long-term benefits of the Dreampad pillow, the existing research suggests that it may be a safe and effective way to improve sleep quality and reduce stress.

Here are the citations for the two studies mentioned above:

  • Gutman, S. A., & Patel, M. (2016). Comparative effectiveness of three occupational therapy sleep interventions: A randomized controlled study. American Journal of Occupational Therapy, 70(5), 7005210060.
  • Schoenwald, S. K., & Woods, B. L. (2019). The efficacy of the Dreampad in influencing sleep behavior in military veterans diagnosed with PTSD. Military Medicine, 184(1-2), 53-58.

Please note that these are just two studies, and more research is needed to confirm the long-term benefits of the Dreampad pillow.

Yotel’s Stunning Smart Bed: The Best in Compact Luxury

Modern hotel room at Yotel with a cozy double bed, white linens, and plush pillows. The room features a wall-mounted TV, ambient purple lighting, a bathroom with a glass shower, and a large window showcasing a nighttime city view with illuminated buildings.
Yotel2

In the evolving landscape of the hospitality industry, few brands have managed to fuse innovation, efficiency, and luxury as seamlessly as YOTEL. Recognized for its state-of-the-art micro-hotel rooms, or ‘cabins’ as they’re aptly called, YOTEL has been at the forefront of redefining the traditional hotel experience. Here’s a comprehensive look into the brand’s inception, evolution, and the unique space it occupies in the industry.

The Inception: YOTEL’s roots trace back to 2007 when it was co-founded by Simon Woodroffe, the man behind YO! Sushi, a successful global chain that revolutionized the sushi dining experience in the UK. The idea of YOTEL was inspired by first-class airplane cabins. Woodroffe, along with Gerard Greene, envisioned a hotel that translated the luxury, compactness, and efficiency of these cabins into on-ground accommodations.

First Footprints: The brand took off with its innovative “YOTELAIR” concept, aiming to serve transit passengers. Its first location was established at London’s Gatwick Airport’s South Terminal in 2007. The convenience of having a plush space to rest, refresh, or catch up on work without leaving the airport was groundbreaking. This airport-centric model quickly expanded, with the brand planting flags in airports like London Heathrow and Amsterdam Schiphol.

Urban Expansion: Recognizing the potential for its compact luxury model beyond transit hubs, YOTEL ventured into city centers. In 2011, the brand made its grand urban debut with YOTEL New York in Manhattan, boasting over 700 cabins, making it the brand’s largest property at the time. This move marked the brand’s shift from merely serving transit passengers to catering to a wider audience seeking efficient luxury in prime urban locations.

Innovative Features: YOTEL has consistently set itself apart through its embrace of technology and space optimization. The brand’s signature features include automated check-in kiosks, eliminating the traditional reception desk’s need, and a robotic luggage storage solution named “YOBOT” in its New York location. The compact rooms, while being space-efficient, do not skimp on amenities, offering luxury bedding, monsoon showers, and smart TVs.

Global Presence: After its urban foray in New York, YOTEL’s presence has burgeoned across the globe, with locations in cities like Boston, San Francisco, Singapore, and Istanbul. The brand has shown a knack for choosing strategic locations, often in bustling city centers or close to significant transit points, catering to both leisure and business travelers.

Future Visions: As the hospitality industry undergoes rapid transformations, YOTEL continues to adapt and innovate. The brand has hinted at exploring concepts like co-working spaces within its hotels and expanding its footprint in Asia and the Middle East.

Yotel, the popular micro hotel rooms in New York City, London and Amsterdam have announced that they will be launching their own line of beds called the “smart bed”. The Smart Bed, designed excursively by Serta for Yotel will feature a gliding mechanism that converts the bed into a couch with the touch of a button. The first beds have been installed in the flagship Yotel in New York City. In addition to a new line of smart beds, Yotel also produced the video below that is supposed to induce sleep titled, “Yawn”. No word yet if these beds will be made available to consumers but I think it would be great if they did. There’s lots of people in apartments or other small spaces that would benefit from a Yotel Smart Bed.

I imagine the beds are made from some sort of foam or latex since they need to be flexible enough to convert into a couch over and over. Get the best deal on Yotel and try the new Yotel Mattress at Hotels.com

YOTEL Mattresses: Redefining Sleep in Compact Luxury

In the bustling world of hospitality, the significance of a good night’s sleep can hardly be overstated. At the heart of this experience lies the mattress, a make-or-break element for many travelers. As YOTEL continues to make waves with its avant-garde approach to hotel accommodations, one of the brand’s crowning features remains the comfort and design of its mattresses. Let’s delve into the unique characteristics that make the YOTEL mattress stand out.

Optimized for Space: In keeping with YOTEL’s philosophy of efficient use of space, their mattresses are custom-designed to fit the brand’s signature ‘cabins.’ However, compactness does not translate to compromise. Premium Comfort: YOTEL mattresses are constructed with a careful blend of support and softness. The underlying layers offer firm support to the spine, catering to a wide array of sleeping positions, be it back, side, or stomach sleepers. This firmness is juxtaposed with a plush top layer that cradles the body, ensuring a restful sleep.

Crafted from high-quality, hypoallergenic materials, these mattresses are designed for durability, ensuring they remain in prime condition even with the frequent guest turnover typical in hotels.

The brand has often collaborated with leading mattress manufacturers, ensuring that guests experience a sleep environment tailored to their needs, often complemented with luxury bedding and temperature-regulating features.

Consistent Feedback: Guest feedback remains a testament to the YOTEL mattress’s success. Many reviews highlight the surprising comfort and support offered by these mattresses, with some guests even inquiring about purchasing them for their homes—a clear indicator of their quality and appeal.

1. Space Efficiency: At the core of YOTEL’s ethos is its genius in optimizing space. This compactness, rather than feeling restrictive, imparts a sense of modern minimalism.

Guests often find themselves in the heart of bustling cities or a stone’s throw away from their departure gates, making commutes and exploration exceptionally convenient.

3. Technological Integration: YOTEL seamlessly blends hospitality with technology. Automated check-in kiosks, the famous “YOBOT” robotic luggage storage in some locations, and smart beds are just a few examples of how the brand leverages tech to enhance guest experiences.

Leveraging Credit Card Points for a YOTEL Stay: A Smart Traveler’s Guide

In the ever-shifting world of travel, savvy travelers know that credit card points can be as good as gold. With hotels like YOTEL redefining the luxury hospitality landscape, the prospect of utilizing points to fund stays at such properties is an enticing one. But how can one go about using these accumulated rewards to secure a booking at YOTEL? Let’s navigate this terrain.

1. Direct Partnerships: The first port of call is to determine if your credit card’s rewards program has a direct partnership with YOTEL. Such partnerships often allow cardholders to redeem points at preferential rates, providing better value for each point spent.

2. Booking Through Card Portals: Many credit card companies operate their travel portals where cardholders can book flights, hotels, and more using their points. Platforms like Chase’s Ultimate Rewards or American Express’s Travel site may have YOTEL listings, allowing for direct bookings using points.

3. Transfer Partners: If YOTEL is not directly affiliated with your credit card rewards program, investigate potential transfer partners. Some card programs allow users to transfer points to hotel loyalty programs. If YOTEL is affiliated with any of these hotel loyalty programs, you can transfer and redeem your points for your stay.

4. Points as Statement Credit: Another approach is the indirect redemption route. After booking a stay at YOTEL using your credit card, you can use your points to cover the purchase by redeeming them for a statement credit. While this method may not offer the best value per point, it provides flexibility.

5. Hybrid Payment: Some reward programs and travel portals permit a combination of points and cash for bookings. If you don’t have enough points to cover the entire YOTEL stay, you might be able to pay a portion with points and cover the remainder with cash.

6. Special Promotions: Stay vigilant for promotions. Occasionally, credit card companies or their associated loyalty programs may run special offers where hotels, including brands like YOTEL, could be booked at discounted point rates.

7. Cardholder Benefits: It’s worth noting that while your points can secure your stay, holding specific premium credit cards can also fetch you additional benefits like room upgrades, early check-in, late check-out, or even dining credits, enhancing your YOTEL experience.

8. Analyze Point Value: Before finalizing any booking, it’s prudent to evaluate the value you’re getting for each point. Divide the cash price of the room by the number of points required for the stay. This gives you a per-point value, helping in determining if you’re getting a good deal.

Conclusion: Booking a YOTEL stay using credit card points is not just a possibility but can be a strategic move for the astute traveler. It requires a mix of research, understanding the nuances of your credit card rewards program, and occasionally, a touch of timing. As YOTEL continues to be a sought-after choice for contemporary travelers, leveraging points can make the experience both luxurious and economical. Always remember, in the world of travel rewards, knowledge is not just power but also luxury.

YOTEL and the Rise of Robotic Hospitality: A Glimpse into the Future

In the intricate dance of hospitality where tradition often meets innovation, YOTEL has emerged as a disruptor. Not just content with redefining spatial luxury, the brand has ventured into harnessing robotics, marking a significant shift in guest interactions and hotel operations. Let’s explore YOTEL’s embrace of robotics and its implications for the hospitality industry at large.

1. YOBOT: Luggage Logistics Transformed:
Arguably the most iconic of YOTEL’s robotic innovations is “YOBOT”, the luggage-storing robot that first graced the brand’s New York location. With its sleek design and user-friendly interface, YOBOT efficiently manages guest luggage in secure lockers, offering both novelty and utility. Beyond mere storage, YOBOT has become emblematic of YOTEL’s forward-thinking ethos.

2. Streamlining Operations:
The introduction of robots, like YOBOT, underscores a broader trend in hospitality: optimizing operational efficiency. Robots can handle repetitive tasks, such as moving luggage, with precision, reducing human error and freeing hotel staff to address more complex guest needs.

3. Enhancing Guest Experience:
While efficiency is a clear outcome, YOTEL’s robots also elevate the guest experience. Interacting with a robot, especially for first-time visitors, is not just functional but also memorable. It creates a unique touchpoint, differentiating YOTEL from other hotel brands and leaving a lasting impression.

4. Data and Feedback Collection:
Robotic interfaces can gather valuable data about guest interactions, preferences, and feedback. Over time, this data can offer insights into improving hotel services, tailoring offerings to specific guest needs, and predicting future trends.

5. Setting a Tech-forward Brand Image:
The incorporation of robotics solidifies YOTEL’s position as a tech-forward brand. In a digital age where consumers, especially millennials and Gen Z, are tech-savvy and expect seamless integrations, robots can be powerful brand ambassadors signaling modernity and innovation.

6. Challenges and Considerations:
While robots present numerous advantages, YOTEL, and the broader hospitality industry, must navigate associated challenges. The balance between automation and the human touch is delicate in a sector where personalization and human warmth are paramount. Training staff to work alongside robots and addressing any tech glitches promptly are crucial aspects to consider.

HemingWeigh Acupressure Mat Review

A person wearing a black sports bra and black shorts lies on an acupressure mat with white circular pressure points. The person has their eyes closed and appears to be relaxing or meditating.

Ever since Christmas 2014 I have been enjoying my Acupressure mat from HemingWeigh. This acupressure mat is made up of tiny sets of plastic spikes that don’t pierce your skin. The HemingWeigh model also comes with a head rest although I wouldn’t recommend using that right away until you acclimate to the regular mat. An acupressure mat is designed to promote circulation and relaxation. When I first used it, I lied down on it with a t-shirt on since I was afraid that the spikes would hurt too much. Most sites I have come across recommend using an Acupressure mat for about 15-25 minutes per session.

When you first lie down on the mat you feel an acute sharp poking pain. However, after about 5 minutes your body starts to release endorphins to deal with the pain. At this point you may notice a sort of warming sensation in your back. The pain will dissipate and you will start feeling relaxed. I try not to focus on anything and just let the mat do its work. After about 4 sessions I was able to graduate to using the head rest but you need to make sure its positioned properly to get the full benefit. I wouldn’t say there really all that much benefit to the head rest but it is a nice option if you don’t want your head on the floor.

I stay on my mat for 25 minutes at a time usually at night after I workout and after a shower. I find that lying on the mat help with recovery from my workouts and makes me fall asleep much faster. I’m not sure why that is but if you read through the reviews on Amazon.com you’ll find that many people get this benefit which is why I’m listing in on yawnder.com.

The HemingWeigh mat also comes with a carrying case which is nice if you are going somewhere that you know has uncomfortable sleeping conditions. For maximum benefit you may want to turn on some relaxing tunes and get some aromatherapy going along with a dim, blueblocking light. All this together would make an ideal relaxation/sleep environment.

This is my first Acupressure mat review and I may be reviewing other mats in the future but given the price and the results you get for that price, I think you’ll be hard pressed to find anything better.

I should also not that when looking at other Acupressure Mat reviews, some reviewers have mentioned that the spike pattern on the mats doesn’t differ. So there really aren’t any options for changing the pattern that I’m aware of. The HemingWeigh Acupressure mat is the highest reviewed acupressure mat on Amazon right now and one of the most affordable!

Please let me know your experience using an acupressure mat.

Tuft & Needle Mattress Unboxing

Close-up image of a white, textured mattress with "Tuft & Needle" elegantly embossed onto its surface. The fabric boasts a dotted pattern for added texture.
Today I received my Tuft & Needle Mattress and was able to do my official Tuft & Needle Mattress Unboxing. Below is the video. The takeaway from this experience is that it was super easy and inflated way faster than I thought it would. You can hear the mattress sucking in air as I cut open the plastic. This was by far the easiest mattress setup I have ever done. You’ll notice that I decided to do the Tuft & Needle Mattress Unboxing in my basement. I decided too put the mattress on my Lovesac Sactional couch in case it needed to air out. While there was that typical memory foam odor, it was wasn’t bad at all! I look forward to sleeping on it tonight and reporting back with my first night’s sleep tomorrow. Enjoy! UPDATE, Please check out my full Review HERE

4-7-8 Breathing: Effortless Trick for Stress Relief

Black and white drawing of two people lying down. One person looks distressed and appears to be attempting a breathing trick to assist the other, who is lying on the ground with eyes closed. Both figures are depicted in simple, clean lines.

The 4-7-8 Breathing Trick: A Simple Path to Relaxation

In today’s fast-paced world, finding effective ways to manage stress and anxiety is crucial. One of the simplest yet profoundly effective techniques you can incorporate into your daily routine is the 4-7-8 breathing trick. This relaxation exercise not only calms the mind but also promotes overall mental well-being by regulating your body’s stress response.

What is the 4-7-8 Breathing Trick?

The 4-7-8 breathing technique is a structured breathing exercise that involves inhaling deeply for 4 seconds, holding that breath for 7 seconds, and then exhaling slowly for a full 8 seconds. This method is designed to bring relaxation, reduce anxiety, and foster a sense of tranquility.

Here’s how to perform the 4-7-8 breathing trick effectively:

1. Find a Comfortable Position: Sit or lie down in a place where you feel at ease.
2. Position Your Tongue: Place the tip of your tongue against the ridge behind your upper front teeth.
3. Inhale: Take a deep breath in through your nose for a count of 4.
4. Hold: Retain your breath for 7 seconds.
5. Exhale: Slowly breathe out through your mouth for a count of 8, making a soft whooshing sound.
6. Repeat: Continue this cycle for 3 to 4 times or until you achieve a sense of relaxation.

Regular practice of the 4-7-8 breathing trick, particularly during times of stress or before bedtime, can enhance your ability to respond to everyday challenges more calmly.

Why Does the 4-7-8 Breathing Trick Work?

The efficacy of the 4-7-8 breathing technique lies in its ability to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, promoting the body’s “rest and digest” response. When faced with stress or anxiety, our sympathetic nervous system kicks into gear, releasing stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline. This activation leads to various physical symptoms, including increased heart rate and shallow breathing.

By engaging in the 4-7-8 breathing trick, you not only increase your oxygen intake but also slow down your heart rate, counteracting the physiological effects of stress. The proactive effort of exhaling slowly serves to release muscular tension and promote relaxation, while concentrating on your breath enhances mindfulness and present-moment awareness. With continued practice, this technique trains both your body and mind to respond to stressors with more ease and efficiency.

How Many Times a Day Can You Practice It?

One of the excellent features of the 4-7-8 breathing trick is its versatility. It can be performed multiple times throughout the day as needed. While starting with two sessions of just a couple of minutes each is advisable, you can gradually increase both duration and frequency to suit your personal needs. It’s an accessible technique that can be practiced anywhere, anytime—from your office desk to the comfort of your home.

Do keep in mind, however, that if you experience any discomfort or dizziness during your practice, it’s essential to stop and return to a regular breathing pattern. Additionally, individuals with specific medical conditions, like asthma, should consult a healthcare professional before integrating this or any new relaxation technique into their routine.

How Did It Become Popular?

The popularity of the 4-7-8 breathing trick can be largely attributed to Dr. Andrew Weil, who has long advocated its use as a method for relaxation. Although there is no direct evidence to suggest that Navy SEALs specifically employ this technique, they often utilize variations of controlled breathing exercises to enhance focus, alleviate stress, and maintain calm during high-pressure situations.

Breathing exercises, such as those encompassed in the 4-7-8 technique, play a significant role in military and law enforcement training, helping individuals hone their mental fortitude under intense pressure.

Broader Applications of the 4-7-8 Breathing Trick

The 4-7-8 technique has found its place not only in individual practices but also within wellness programs across various settings, including schools, workplaces, and healthcare facilities. Its simplicity and effectiveness have garnered endorsements from yoga instructors, therapists, and well-being experts as a powerful tool for managing stress and anxiety.

Furthermore, many other breathing techniques complement the 4-7-8 method, providing alternatives suitable for different preferences and situations. Some popular techniques include:

Diaphragmatic Breathing: Focuses on deep breaths to engage the diaphragm for enhanced relaxation.
Alternate Nostril Breathing: Help balance energy and promote calmness by exchanging nasal breathing through each nostril.
Box Breathing: Involves equal counts for inhalation, exhalation, and holding the breath, fostering a steady rhythm.
Kapalabhati Breathing: A vigorous technique with powerful exhalations that energizes and detoxifies.
Breath Counting: Offers a simple way to focus by counting breaths, enhancing mindfulness.

Conclusion

In summary, the 4-7-8 breathing trick stands as a powerful, straightforward method to cultivate relaxation and improve your overall well-being. By seamlessly integrating this technique into your daily routine, you can harness its benefits to navigate life’s challenges with more tranquility and ease. Whether you turn to it in moments of stress, to assist with sleep, or to embrace mindfulness, the 4-7-8 breathing trick is a valuable tool in your wellness arsenal. Start practicing today, and experience the calming effects for yourself.

Melatonin Shades: Your Must-Have Solution for Effortless Sleep

Wooden-framed amber-tinted Melatonin Shades are displayed in front of a cylindrical bamboo case adorned with a logo of a sleeping face and the words "THE ME LATONIN D ES CO M.N." on it. The sunglasses and case rest on a gray drawstring pouch.

Discovering the Benefits of Melatonin Shades

As I sit here in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with a clock reading 8:21 PM and the sun long gone, I find myself typing away on my laptop, illuminated by the familiar glow of its screen. However, what sets tonight apart is that I’m donning my new Melatonin Shades. These innovative glasses are crafted to block out the blue light that disrupts our body’s natural melatonin production, making them a game-changer for anyone concerned about sleep quality.

The Impact of Blue Light on Your Sleep

In today’s digital age, we find ourselves surrounded by screens—be it our phones, tablets, or laptops. Unfortunately, these devices emit blue light, which has been scientifically confirmed to hinder the production of melatonin, the hormone responsible for regulating sleep. When exposed to this light late at night, your body struggles to send the signals necessary for sleepiness. By wearing Melatonin Shades, I effectively prevent my body from receiving this wakefulness message, paving the way for a more restful night’s sleep.

Why Choose Melatonin Shades Over Supplements?

You might be wondering why I opted for Melatonin Shades instead of simply taking melatonin pills. While I occasionally use melatonin supplements, I have reservations about their long-term effects. Prolonged use of these supplements isn’t well understood, and I find myself reluctant to make them a permanent fixture in my nighttime routine. In contrast, Melatonin Shades offer a one-time investment that provides similar benefits without the ongoing dependency that comes with taking pills.

Comfort Meets Functionality

Let’s talk about the design and comfort of Melatonin Shades. I have been pleasantly surprised by how they fit—a snug yet comfortable embrace that allows me to use my laptop or phone without any hassle. The lenses give everything a yellowish tint, which may take a moment to adjust to, but I find it perfectly suited for evening screen time. However, I wouldn’t recommend watching TV for extended periods in these shades; the color distortion can be distracting.

For those who work alternative schedules, like overnight shifts, these glasses can be incredibly beneficial. They create an environment more conducive to sleep, even during daylight hours. The dual functionality of supporting our natural sleep cycles while allowing us to engage with screens makes Melatonin Shades a thoughtful addition to your sleep routine.

My Experience So Far

Having worn Melatonin Shades for a few weeks now, I can confidently say that my sleep quality has improved. The ability to continue using electronic devices without worrying about their impact on my sleep makes me feel empowered, especially as someone who refuses to give up the comforts of technology in my bedroom. Whether you’re a night owl, a busy professional, or simply someone who enjoys late-night browsing, I wholeheartedly recommend these glasses to anyone struggling with sleep disturbances caused by blue light.

The Conclusion: Embrace Better Sleep with Melatonin Shades

In conclusion, if you find yourself wrestling with sleeplessness due to nighttime screen use, consider investing in Melatonin Shades. They provide a practical alternative to supplements, promoting better sleep while allowing you to stay connected to your devices. The comfort and utility of these shades make them an ideal solution for anyone looking to improve their sleep quality.

So next time you settle in for an evening of browsing or binge-watching, remember that the right pair of glasses could be the key to unlocking a better night’s rest. Say goodbye to restless nights and hello to rejuvenating sleep with Melatonin Shades—your eyes and your sleep schedule will thank you!

Parents can feel confident relying on expert advice as they work to improve their child’s sleep habits.

Progress Tracking

The app allows parents to monitor their child’s sleep patterns over time. By tracking sleep quality and duration, parents can identify trends and make necessary adjustments to the sleep plan. This feature not only holds parents accountable but also empowers them to make data-driven decisions that could enhance their child’s sleep experience.

Benefits of Using the Kids Sleep Doctor App

Incorporating the Kids Sleep Doctor app into bedtime routines can yield numerous benefits for both parents and children:

Improved Sleep Quality

Reduced Bedtime Struggles

Bedtime can often be a contentious time in households. The app’s interactive elements and soothing resources can ease tensions and transform bedtime from a battle into a calm, enjoyable routine. Children are more likely to embrace these bedtime practices when they find them engaging.

Enhanced Parental Confidence

Navigating sleep challenges can be overwhelming for parents, especially those dealing with fussy sleepers. The evidence-based guidance provided by the Kids Sleep Doctor app equips parents with the tools and knowledge they need, elevating their confidence as they tackle sleep-related issues.

Conclusion: Investing in a Good Night’s Sleep

The Kids Sleep Doctor app from Evelina Children’s Hospital is an essential tool for parents seeking to enhance their children’s sleep quality. Bucky Pillow Review: Must-Have for Effortless Sleep

A close-up of a pile of dark brown, triangular buckwheat seeds against a white background resembles the filling of a Bucky Pillow. The seeds have a rough texture and vary slightly in size, with some scattered around the main pile.

bucky pillow

Ever tried sleeping on buckwheat? Me neither, until I was given an organic buckwheat filled pillow from Bucky. Bucky Inc. is based out of Seattle, WA and has been in business since 1992. According to their website, their manufacturing is increasingly done in the USA. Like bamboo, buckwheat is a sustainable material that Bucky Inc. has made available in the USA.

buckwheat

If you have neck soreness or pain when you wake up in the morning, it could be due to your pillow. I have found this to be especially true with traditional pillows that are filled with down or even foam. A typical nights sleep on these pillows starts out just fine but then I often find myself shifting positions and readjusting my pillow because it has sunk or shifted during the night.

With the Bucky pillow, I was able to mold the perfect support for my head and neck and noticed there was no sinking. Obviously you will still notice some shifting during the night if you change sleep positions but it is very easy to get the pillow back into your favorite position. Sleeping on buckwheat takes some getting used to. The Bucky pillow felt too hard at first, especially against my ear, but after a few more uses I grew accustomed to it. To alleviate this minor discomfort, I could have used a sleep mask to provide another layer of softness. I have already acclimated after just 2 nights with the pillow and it has become my favorite by far.

I had a great night’s sleep with my Bucky pillow. My wife gave it a try the following night with the same results although she also mentioned that it was a bit hard. However, that’s a small price to pay for alleviating neck soreness. And, like I said, the hardness sensation goes away after a few uses. Buckwheat pillows seem to be ideal for back and side sleepers as they provide good spinal alignment.

Aside from the amazing support, the Bucky pillow does not trap heat like a memory foam pillow. This would be a great pillow for people that sleep hot or live in warmer climates. Since it is filled with buckwheat, the pillows are on the heavier side but I see that as a plus since they won’t move around as easily. It also has a pleasant smell since it is made from all natural material. You can even add your own scents such as lavender to the pillow by unzipping the cover and putting in the desired amount.

If you’re in the market for a new pillow and are a side or back sleeper give the Bucky pillow a try. It is a completely different sensation compared to traditional pillows and may be the last pillow you ever need to buy!

Re-Timer Review: Beat the Winter Blues

A woman with blonde curly hair is wearing white smart glasses and a yellow top. She is smiling while talking on a mobile phone, her re-timer glasses contributing to her vibrant energy. The background shows a blurred urban landscape with buildings and trees.
[lasso rel="shareasale-analytics-6" id="150683"]

Re-Timers are portable, blue or green light-emitting glasses designed to help adjust your body’s internal clock, also known as your circadian rhythm. This can be beneficial for people who:

    • Experience jet lag due to frequent travel
    • Work night shifts and struggle with daytime sleepiness
    • Have difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep
    • Suffer from seasonal affective disorder (SAD)

How do they work?

Light exposure, particularly blue and green wavelengths, plays a crucial role in regulating the production of melatonin, a hormone that promotes sleepiness. By mimicking natural daylight, Re-Timers suppress melatonin production in the morning, helping you feel more alert and awake. In the evening, avoiding bright light exposure allows melatonin levels to rise, promoting better sleep.

Features of Re-Timer glasses:

    • Portable and comfortable: Unlike traditional light therapy lamps, Re-Timers are worn like glasses, allowing for hands-free light exposure while going about your morning routine.
    • Safe and effective: The emitted light is 100% UV-free and meets international eye safety standards. Six published clinical trials support their efficacy in adjusting sleep patterns.
    • Adjustable intensity: You can choose between two brightness levels (315 lux and 500 lux) to personalize your light therapy experience.
    • Timer function: The glasses automatically turn off after the set treatment duration (20, 30, or 60 minutes).

Things to consider:

    • While generally safe, Re-Timers may not be suitable for everyone, especially individuals with certain eye conditions or epilepsy. Consulting a healthcare professional before using them is recommended.
    • The effectiveness of light therapy can vary depending on individual factors and the specific condition being addressed.

Overall, Re-Timer light therapy glasses offer a convenient and potentially effective way to manage sleep issues related to circadian rhythm disruption. If you’re interested in trying them, talking to your doctor or a sleep specialist can help determine if they’re the right fit for you.

The Science of Light Therapy for Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a type of depression that occurs seasonally, most commonly during the fall and winter months when daylight hours are shorter. Many people with SAD experience symptoms like low mood, fatigue, irritability, difficulty sleeping, and changes in appetite.

Light therapy is a well-established and effective treatment for SAD. It involves sitting in front of a bright light box for 20-60 minutes each day, usually first thing in the morning. The light emitted by the box mimics natural sunlight and is thought to work by:

    • Suppressing melatonin production: Melatonin is a hormone that makes you sleepy. In people with SAD, melatonin production may be increased during the day, contributing to fatigue and low mood. Light therapy helps to suppress melatonin production, making you feel more alert and awake.
    • Regulating your circadian rhythm: Your circadian rhythm is your body’s internal clock that regulates sleep and wakefulness. Light exposure plays a key role in setting your circadian rhythm. In people with SAD, their circadian rhythm may be out of sync, contributing to their symptoms. Light therapy can help to reset your circadian rhythm and improve sleep quality.
    • Increasing serotonin levels: Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that plays a role in mood regulation. Studies have shown that light therapy can increase serotonin levels in people with SAD, which may contribute to improved mood.

The Science Behind the Mechanisms:

The exact mechanisms by which light therapy works are still not fully understood. However, research suggests that it may involve changes in several brain regions and neurotransmitters. For example, light therapy has been shown to activate the hypothalamus, a part of the brain that regulates the circadian rhythm and melatonin production. It may also increase activity in the prefrontal cortex, an area of the brain involved in mood regulation.

Effectiveness of Light Therapy:

Numerous studies have shown that light therapy is an effective treatment for SAD. In fact, it is often considered the first-line treatment for this condition. A review of research published in the Journal of Affective Disorders found that light therapy was significantly more effective than placebo in reducing symptoms of SAD.

Things to Consider:

While light therapy is generally safe and well-tolerated, there are a few things to keep in mind:

    • Side effects: Some people may experience side effects from light therapy, such as headaches, eyestrain, and irritability. These side effects are usually mild and temporary.
    • Not for everyone: Light therapy may not be effective for everyone with SAD. It is important to talk to your doctor to see if light therapy is right for you.
    • Importance of consistency: For light therapy to be effective, it is important to use it consistently, every day, for at least a few weeks.

Light therapy is a safe and effective treatment for seasonal affective disorder. If you are struggling with SAD, talk to your doctor about whether light therapy is right for you.

My Re-Timer Findings

If you live anywhere a bit north or south of the equator you can understand how lack of sunlight can affect your sleep schedule. I live in Minnesota where the sun sets around 5pm during most of the winter. That means that you are usually going to work in the dark and coming home in the dark. Too much of this routing will inevitably lead to changes in mood and energy levels. You can also get this same side effect from traveling to different time zones where your body has to adjust to local time. A common problem among business travelers.

To remedy this, I have purchased a “Happy Light” which I would sit in front of for about half an hour each morning, or at least try to. Usually I am way too busy with getting the kids out the door and trying to get to work on time to spare another half our to sit tethered in front of a light.

Enter the Re-Timer. It’s works just as effectively if not more so than a happy light and it can be worn just like a regular pair of glasses. UV free light unobtrusively beams right to where your body needs it the most to get you energized and back on schedule. Since it’s portable, I’m much more likely to put them on and can even use them in bed while my wife is still sleeping without waking her up as well. The Re-Timer is charged with a standard USB cable and each charge lasts up to 4 hours. Given I only need to use it for 30 minutes a day I can go a whole week without having to recharge. If you travel frequently it’s your best bet for getting your sleeping schedule in sync with local time. It comes with a nice carrying case that can pack neatly into your suitcase.

The Re-Timer is backed by peer reviewed research that proves its efficacy. Knowing that, if you have been diagnosed with SAD, you may be able to purchase this product as a Health Savings Account (HSA) expense, tax free.

I look forward to using my Re-Timer this coming fall as the days start getting shorter and will report on my progress as winter approaches. In the mean time, do yourself and your sleep a favor and get one of these!

Update 12-17-15

We’re getting close to the Winter Solstice and I am feeling the full effects of SAD (seasonal affective disorder). This past week I have had an insatiable appetite, especially for carbohydrates. In fact, I bought a box of donuts on impulse on the drive home from work a few days ago and ate 3 that night. I’m lethargic and have a short temper.

Thankfully I remembered the re timer. I used it this morning at 6am for 20 minutes in bed. It’s very convenient and doesn’t light up the entire room so that your significant other can still seep. It’s amazing how dark it really gets this time of year in Minnesota. It took me a little while just to tolerate the light near my eyes let alone wear the glasses. After 20 minutes I turned them off and the room looked pitch black.

It takes about 4 days for the effects of the re timer to kick in so I am going to do this all weekend. I’m also going to keep to a consistent sleep time which will also help with energy levels.

It’s nice to know that I have this tool in my sleep arsenal.

Mulberry Silk Comforter: Effortless Cozy Sleep Solution

Mulberry Silk Comforter Review: A Luxurious Sleep Experience

This week, I had the pleasure of trying out a twin-sized silk comforter from the Mulberry Silk Company, and I must say, my experience has been nothing short of impressive. Initially, I was skeptical about how warm a comforter could be when it felt so lightweight. To my surprise, it folds down to about 1 foot square and 6 inches deep, making it incredibly convenient for storage.

A Perfect Balance of Warmth and Comfort

On my first night with the Mulberry silk comforter, I was amazed by how perfectly it regulated my body temperature. It kept me neither too hot nor too cold, striking an ideal balance throughout the night. The comforter has a unique quality that I found particularly appealing: it gently hugs my body. Unlike traditional wool or down comforters, which often leave air pockets, this silk enchantment seems to shrink-wrap itself around you. This feature not only enhances comfort but also contributes to a more restful sleep.

Elegant Design Meets Practicality

Beyond its remarkable comfort, the aesthetic appeal of the Mulberry silk comforter is noteworthy. It boasts a sleek, luxurious design that could easily grace any bed without the need for a duvet cover. However, I would advise using one, as silk can soil quickly, and its cleaning process can be a bit cumbersome—you’ll likely need to dry clean it. Investing in a duvet cover will not only extend the life of your comforter but will also simplify maintenance.

Affordable Luxury

When comparing Mulberry Silk Company to other silk comforter manufacturers, one of the standout features is their pricing. They offer high-quality silk comforters at reasonable prices, making luxury more accessible. Silk comforters are a worthy investment, given their durability; you can expect many years of use from this type of product. Quality sleep should never be compromised, and the Mulberry silk comforter has certainly underscored this point for me. After all, we spend roughly a third of our lives in bed, so why not invest in comfort?

Benefits Beyond Sleeping

Aside from luxurious comfort and aesthetic appeal, the Mulberry silk comforter provides other significant benefits. Silk is naturally hypoallergenic, which makes it an excellent choice for those with allergies or sensitive skin. It is breathable, allowing air to flow while maintaining body heat, making it ideal for individuals who are sensitive to temperature fluctuations. This comforter has helped me maintain a restful sleep throughout the night, demonstrating its potential to enhance overall well-being.

The Ideal Choice for Sleep Sensitive Individuals

In conclusion, I can wholeheartedly recommend the Mulberry silk comforter for anyone who struggles with temperature changes while sleeping. Its ability to provide consistent warmth without overheating makes it a godsend for sensitive sleepers. Investing in this silk comforter has indeed made a transformative difference in my nighttime routine, helping me achieve better sleep quality.

With its combination of comfort, aesthetics, and affordability, the Mulberry Silk Company comforter is more than just a bedding choice—it’s an investment in your health and well-being. So why hesitate? Treat yourself to the luxury of a silk comforter and experience the benefits for yourself.

ASMR, Ever Tried it?

In the vast landscape of the internet, there emerges, every now and then, a trend or subculture that captures the collective imagination. One such phenomenon that has grown in prominence over the last decade is ASMR, or Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. But what exactly is ASMR? And why has it gained such a robust following?

Defining ASMR

ASMR is described as a tingling sensation that typically starts at the crown of the head and can progress down the spine and to other parts of the body. This sensation, often referred to as “tingles,” is typically triggered by specific auditory or visual stimuli, ranging from soft whispers to methodical tapping.

While the phenomenon itself is not new — many people can recall experiencing these tingles long before the term was coined — the name and the burgeoning community around it are relatively recent developments.

The Origins and Evolution

The term “Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response” was proposed in a 2010 online forum by Jennifer Allen, who sought to give a name to this widely experienced yet little-understood sensation. From there, it didn’t take long for a community to form around the phenomenon. Video-sharing platforms, particularly YouTube, became a hub for creators, often referred to as “ASMRtists,” producing content specifically designed to trigger ASMR responses in viewers.

By the early 2020s, ASMR had burgeoned from a niche internet subculture to a mainstream phenomenon, with millions of videos available and major brands even leveraging ASMR techniques in their advertising campaigns.

The Science Behind the Sensation

The biological underpinnings of ASMR remain a subject of research and debate. Early studies have suggested that ASMR may be linked to the brain’s release of endorphins, neurotransmitters known for their role in pain relief and pleasure. Other theories point to the potential role of oxytocin, a hormone associated with bonding and social connection.

From a psychological perspective, many individuals find ASMR videos relaxing, using them as a tool for stress relief, anxiety reduction, or sleep aid. The methodical, predictable nature of ASMR triggers can provide a sense of calm and predictability in an often chaotic world.

ASMR, with its deeply personal and varied triggers, remains a complex and captivating subject. As researchers delve deeper into the science behind the sensation, the ASMR community continues to thrive, showcasing the diverse ways in which humans experience and interpret sensory stimuli. What began as whispered discussions in obscure corners of the internet has grown into a global conversation about the mysterious and soothing world of ASMR.

Binural Beats

There’s a relatively new approach to relaxation and sleeping that involves stimulating your senses with particular triggers in order to relax. The method is called Autonomous sensory meridian response or ASMR for short. The term first appeared back in 2008 on Yahoo!.  Below is one of the most viewed YouTube videos on ASMR that includes a variety of triggers that prompt immediate relaxation. Let me know if you have experience in this practice or have had any positive results from it. Enjoy!
