Technogel 3D Pro Hybrid Review: Same Gel, Firmer Feel, Less Money
The 3D Pro Hybrid is the model most people in our showroom actually buy. It uses the same Technogel comfort layer and 3D airflow foam as the flagship Elite, just less of it, which lands it at a medium-firm feel and a lower price. If you want the cooling without the pillowtop, this is the one.

Quick take
- Price: from $3,499
- Firmness: Medium-firm (6.5β7/10)
- Feel: Supportive with a thin, conforming gel surface β closer to a traditional hybrid than a pillowtop
- Best for: Back sleepers, combination sleepers, and anyone who wants Technogel cooling in a firmer, less pillowy package
Construction
- Technogel comfort layer (thinner than the Elite, so more support comes through)
- 3D breathable support foam for airflow
- Pocketed coil support unit with reinforced perimeter
- Knit cooling cover, tighter quilting than the Elite
Elite vs. Pro Hybrid: the honest difference
These are the same technology at two thicknesses. The Elite has a deeper gel layer and a plush pillowtop panel; the Pro Hybrid has a thinner gel layer over the same 3D support foam and coil unit. Lying on them back to back, the Elite feels like it wraps you and the Pro Hybrid feels like it holds you up.
Cooling is close to identical in our thermal captures. The gel is doing the same job in both β the Elite simply has more surface to sink into before you reach the support layers.

How it feels
Medium-firm, call it 6.5 to 7 out of 10. Back sleepers get clean lumbar contact with no gapping at the waist. Combination sleepers like it because the firmer surface makes it easy to change positions. Stomach sleepers can live on this one, which is not true of the Elite.
Cooling, tested
Same protocol as the rest of our floor: 30-minute lying load followed by surface captures at 1, 5, 15 and 30 minutes. The Pro Hybrid tracks within a hair of the Elite and comfortably beats every gel-infused foam bed we’ve measured. If cooling is your entire reason for shopping, you do not need to pay for the Elite.
Pros & cons
Pros
- Nearly all of the Elite’s cooling performance for several hundred dollars less.
- Medium-firm support suits back and combination sleepers better than the plush Elite.
- Pocketed coils give it real edge support β easy to sit on the side of the bed.
- Firmer surface means less break-in and less surface impression over time.
Cons
- Side sleepers with shoulder pain will want the thicker gel layer in the Elite.
- Still a premium price for a medium-firm hybrid.
- Heavy β plan on white-glove delivery.
5-year cost of ownership

Frequently asked questions
Is the 3D Pro Hybrid firmer than the Elite? Yes β roughly 6.5β7 out of 10 versus 6 for the Elite, because the gel comfort layer is thinner and the coil support comes through sooner.
Which one should a back sleeper buy? The Pro Hybrid. Its firmer surface keeps the hips from dropping and holds lumbar contact better than the plush Elite.
Does it sleep as cool as the Elite? Effectively yes. In our thermal captures the two are within a hair of each other; the gel technology is identical.
Can I try it in San Diego? Yes β it is on the floor at the Yawnder San Diego showroom, 1441 Encinitas Blvd, Encinitas CA 92024.
Verdict
The value pick of the Technogel line and the one we recommend most often. You give up the pillowtop plushness of the Elite and keep essentially all of the cooling. Back and combination sleepers should start here.
