Helix Midnight Luxe Review: The Best-Selling Side-Sleeper Hybrid, Re-Tested
The Helix Midnight Luxe is a 13.5-inch medium hybrid built around pressure relief for side sleepers, zoned lumbar support and a reinforced perimeter. We re-measured it with Yawnder's standardized protocol and paired those results with years of showroom feedback.

Who it fits best
In our testing and showroom experience, the Midnight Luxe works best for side sleepers and many back sleepers who want a true medium feel. The shoulder and hip zones allow more compression than a firmer hybrid while the coil system keeps the surface responsive enough that changing positions does not feel labored.

Helix currently lists the Midnight Luxe at 13.5 inches tall with a medium feel, a breathable TENCEL cover, pressure-relieving foams, zoned lumbar support, individually wrapped coils and reinforced edges. The GlacioTex cover is an optional cooling upgrade, and Helix also offers a GlacioTex + CoolForce configuration for its highest cooling package. The ErgoAlign option adds targeted support for people who want more reinforcement through the lower back.

How it feels in real life
The defining characteristic is balance. You get enough surface cushioning for the shoulder and hip to settle, but the mattress recovers quickly when you roll over. It does not have the dense, slow-response sensation of a Tempur-Pedic. That combination is why it works well for couples with different movement patterns and for combination sleepers who spend a meaningful amount of the night on their side.
Midnight Luxe vs Midnight Elite
The Midnight Elite is the more elaborate model: it is 15 inches tall and adds two microcoil layers plus a more advanced cooling cover. The Luxe is simpler, shorter and less expensive while keeping the medium side-sleeper target and zoned support.
