Helix Midnight Elite Review: The Flagship Medium-Feel Hybrid

Helix Midnight Elite review: what the upgrade adds
The Midnight Elite is the specific 15-inch, medium-feel premium hybrid reviewed here—not the standard Midnight or the 13.5-inch Midnight Luxe. Helix lists comfort microcoils, a premium GlacioTex Elite cooling cover and extra support components as upgrades over the Luxe. The Midnight Elite is the top of Helix‘s medium-feel line — the same target market as the Midnight and Midnight Luxe, but with a 15-inch profile, dense memory foam, microcoils and a GlacioTex Elite cooling cover. What the Elite tier actually adds
Three things separate Elite from Luxe:
- Comfort materials: Helix lists dense SupremeSupport 7.0 memory foam and a microcoil layer; the Luxe has a different comfort construction.
- Cooling: The GlacioTex Elite cover is standard; an optional CoolForce layer is available at an additional cost. A cool-to-the-touch cover is not active cooling.
- Support: Helix describes an ErgoAlign contour layer and individually wrapped support coils. Compare the current model details and try the mattress rather than assuming a specific coil count.
Pressure and cooling — what changed vs Midnight Luxe
Pressure relief is evaluated using Yawnder’s standardized hands-on testing rubric, with particular attention to shoulder and hip comfort for side sleepers. The Midnight Elite performed strongly in pressure relief compared with firmer mattresses in the Helix lineup. The original review reported surface readings of 82°F on the Elite and 87°F on the Luxe after 20 minutes; room conditions and the measurement method were not documented. Treat the readings as limited observations rather than a controlled comparison or prediction of overnight temperature.

Midnight Elite vs Midnight Luxe — should you upgrade?
Compare the two in the same size and cooling configuration. Elite adds a taller profile and microcoils, but the better value depends on the current price difference and which surface feels right to you. More layers do not guarantee a longer useful life.
What to check before buying
Helix currently lists the Midnight Elite at 15 inches; a queen measures 60 by 80 inches. It includes the GlacioTex Elite cover, dense memory foam, microcoils, an ErgoAlign contour layer and pocketed support coils. An optional CoolForce layer costs extra. A cool-to-the-touch cover is not active refrigeration, and the right comfort level depends on your body and sleeping position.
The mattress ships in two boxes. Arrange help for setup, measure the finished bed height and sheet-pocket depth, and use a firm, flat foundation or thick slats no more than 3.5 inches apart, as described by Helix. Check the current product page for configuration, pricing and delivery details.

Common questions
How does the cover cool? Helix says the GlacioTex Elite cover feels cool to the touch; it does not actively refrigerate the bed. We have not established a lifespan for its cooling effect.
Is Midnight Elite too tall for standard sheets? Helix lists the mattress at 15 inches. Check that your fitted sheets accommodate its height plus any protector or topper.

Sizing, sheets and setup
Measure the doorway, stairwell turn and elevator before delivery day – check the dimensions of the boxes and whether you need help moving them. Check the sheet depth against the mattress height plus any protector you plan to use, and confirm your foundation is either a solid platform, a slatted base with gaps of roughly three inches or less, or a compatible adjustable base. Most warranties are void if the mattress sags on an unsupported frame, so an unsupported centre rail on a queen or larger is worth fixing before the mattress arrives, not after.
How to decide before ordering
Feel and sleeping position
The medium-feel Midnight Elite is intended for side sleepers, but body size and position influence how deeply the comfort layers compress. Spend time on your side and back; a partner should also try the mattress before deciding whether the Elite feels worth its premium over the Luxe.
Motion, edges and cooling
The motion graph and edge photos on this page document the tested sample. Movement can still be noticeable to a sensitive partner, so compare the two sides together. The cool-to-touch cover affects initial contact; bedding and room temperature also affect overnight comfort.
Construction
Helix’s current 15-inch design lists a GlacioTex Elite cover, gel and SupremeSupport 7.0 memory foams, responsive foam, microcoils, and an 8-inch individually wrapped coil support unit. CoolForce is an optional heat-transfer layer; select and price the configuration you actually want.

On October 29, 2026, Helix displayed $3,497 for a queen with the optional CoolForce layer during a promotion.
