Technogel Pro Foam (Firm) Review: A Firm All-Foam Bed That Doesn’t Sleep Hot
Most firm foam mattresses trade cooling for support: dense foam holds you up and holds heat too. The Technogel Pro Foam (Firm) is the exception on our floor. It puts a Technogel comfort layer over a firm foam core, so you get genuine firm support with a surface that stays cool under a long load.

Quick take
- Price: from $3,399
- Firmness: Firm (7.5β8/10)
- Feel: Flat, supportive, on-top-of-the-bed β with a cool gel surface instead of a hot foam one
- Best for: Stomach sleepers, back sleepers who want firm support, heavier sleepers, and anyone who has never found a firm foam bed that stays cool
Construction
- Technogel comfort layer over a firm high-density foam core
- 3D breathable support foam for lateral airflow
- All-foam construction β no coils, so it is quieter and lighter than the hybrids
- Knit cooling cover
How firm is it, really
About a 7.5 to 8 out of 10. You sleep on this bed, not in it. Stomach sleepers stay in neutral alignment with no lower-back arch, and heavier back sleepers get support without the sinkhole that softer foam beds develop over a couple of years.
If you’re a side sleeper, be honest with yourself before buying this one β we’d point you to the 3D Elite Hybrid instead.

Foam vs. the Technogel hybrids
Same gel on top, different everything underneath. The Pro Foam has no coils: it is quieter, it isolates motion better, and it is easier to move. The trade-offs are less edge support, no bounce, and a firmer overall feel.
Cooling, tested
We run a 30-minute lying load and capture the surface at 1, 5, 15 and 30 minutes of recovery. The Pro Foam is the reason we bother testing at all β on paper an all-foam firm bed should be the hottest thing on the floor, and this one measures cooler than gel-infused foam pillowtops that cost about the same.
Pros & cons
Pros
- A truly firm foam mattress that still sleeps cool β that combination is rare.
- Excellent for stomach and firm-preference back sleepers who normally end up on an innerspring.
- All-foam build is silent and isolates motion better than the hybrids.
- Lighter and easier to handle than the coil models.
Cons
- Firm means firm. Side sleepers under about 150 lb will find it unforgiving at the shoulder.
- Less edge support than the pocketed-coil hybrids.
- No bounce β if you want a responsive, springy surface, take the 3D Pro Hybrid instead.
5-year cost of ownership
| Purchase price (queen) | $3,399 |
| Expected useful life | 10 years |
| Cost per night | about $0.93 a night |
| Ongoing costs | None beyond a protector; no topper needed and no rotation-driven replacement in our experience. |
Frequently asked questions
Is the Technogel Pro Foam good for stomach sleepers? Yes β this is the model we recommend for stomach sleepers. The firm foam core keeps the hips from dropping and the lower back in neutral.
Is it too firm for side sleepers? For most side sleepers, yes. At 7.5β8/10 it doesn’t give enough at the shoulder. The 3D Elite Hybrid is the better side-sleeping choice.
Does an all-foam Technogel still sleep cool? It does. The Technogel comfort layer conducts heat away and the 3D support foam moves air laterally, so it measures cooler than comparable gel-infused foam beds in our testing.
Can I try it in San Diego? Yes β the Technogel lineup is on the floor at the Yawnder San Diego showroom, 1441 Encinitas Blvd, Encinitas CA 92024.
Verdict
The firm, quiet, cool-sleeping option in the Technogel line, and the one we hand to stomach sleepers and heavier back sleepers. If you want plush, go Elite; if you want a firm bed that doesn’t cook you, this is it.
