Helix Moonlight Elite Review: The Plushest Elite Helix Sells
The Moonlight Elite is the softest bed in Helix‘s flagship Elite tier — a plush, side-sleeper-first hybrid with hand-tufted quilting, phase-change cooling, and Helix‘s zoned Ergo-Alignment coil system. It’s the answer for side sleepers who want the best of everything.

Quick take
- Best for: Side sleepers 130–200 lb who want the plushest hybrid on the market
- Feel: Soft (~4/10)
- Height: 15.5 inches
- Price: ~$2,624 queen at 25% off (MSRP ~$3,499)
- Trial / warranty: 100 nights / 15 years
Why the Elite tier matters for plush beds
Plush mattresses fail in two ways: pillowtops pack down, and coils dip in the middle within 3–5 years. The Elite construction fixes both. The hand-tufted pillowtop is stitched, not glued — it stays lofted 8+ years. The Ergo-Alignment coil unit uses heavier-gauge lumbar wire so the middle doesn’t sag even under a 200 lb side sleeper.

Pressure results — the numbers side sleepers care about
Pressure mapping on a 160 lb side sleeper: 16 mmHg shoulder / 20 hip — the lowest we’ve measured on any hybrid in this price bracket. For context, memory foam competitors like the Tempur-Adapt sit at 18/22, and Saatva‘s Classic Plush Soft sits at 20/26.
Pros
- Lowest pressure numbers of any premium hybrid we’ve tested
- PCM cooling keeps a plush bed from sleeping hot — usually a plush-mattress dealbreaker
- Zoned coils prevent the middle-sag that kills most plush hybrids by year 5
- 15-year warranty
Cons
- Too soft for back sleepers over 180 lb — spine will sag
- Not for stomach sleepers under any weight
- Deep-pocket sheets required (15.5″ profile)

Moonlight Elite vs Moonlight Luxe
The Elite adds PCM cooling and hand-tufted quilting on top of the Luxe’s already-strong build. Upgrade if you sleep hot, weigh 180+ lb, or want the mattress to last a full decade without packing down. Otherwise the Luxe is 85% of the experience at 70% of the price.
Common questions
Is Moonlight Elite too soft to share with a firm sleeper? If your partner needs 6/10 or firmer, run separate sides — Helix offers dual-firmness on king and CA king.
Does the plush feel change over time? Less than any plush hybrid we’ve tested. Hand-tufted construction is the reason.
Where can I try one? The Yawnder San Diego showroom stocks premium plush hybrids for side-by-side comparison, and Helix ships every mattress with a 100-night home trial.
