Helix Moonlight Luxe Review: Helix‘s Plushest Premium Bed
If the Midnight Luxe is medium and the Twilight Luxe is firm, the Moonlight Luxe is the soft one. It’s built for strict side sleepers, petite sleepers, and anyone who wants premium coils under a genuinely plush feel.

Quick take
- Best for: Side sleepers, petite sleepers (<160 lb), plush lovers
- Feel: Soft-medium (~4.5/10)
- Height: 13.5 inches
- Price: ~$2,373 queen at 25% off (MSRP ~$3,164)
- Trial / warranty: 100 nights / 15 years
What makes it plush without collapsing
The pillowtop uses Helix‘s soft Memory Plus foam over a slow-response transition layer — the combo lets your shoulder and hip sink almost immediately without the “quicksand” trapped feeling of pure memory foam. Underneath, the Luxe-tier zoned coil system is tuned firmer at the lumbar and softer at the shoulders. That’s how it stays soft on top but doesn’t let a 160 lb side sleeper bottom out.

Side-sleeper cred, tested
Pressure mapping on a 155 lb sleeper in the side position showed 18 mmHg peak at the shoulder and 22 at the hip — well below the 32 mmHg threshold where blood flow starts to restrict. That’s on par with the Saatva Loom & Leaf and easier on the shoulder than the Purple Rejuvenate Plus.
Where it falls short
Pros
- Plush surface without motion transfer — better for couples than most memory foam
- Zoned coils keep lumbar supported even at soft feel
- GlacioTex cover pulls surface heat away
- Handles side sleepers up to about 200 lb without bottoming out

Moonlight Luxe vs the alternatives
Vs Midnight Luxe: Midnight Luxe is medium (6/10) and better for combo sleepers. Moonlight Luxe is soft (4.5/10) and better for strict side sleepers.
Vs Purple Rejuvenate Plus: Purple wins on cooling and grid feel; Moonlight Luxe wins on hug and quiet motion isolation.
Vs Saatva Loom & Leaf: Similar plush target, but the Moonlight Luxe is a hybrid with coils vs the L&L’s all-foam construction.
Common questions
Is the Moonlight Luxe too soft for back sleepers? Over 180 lb, yes. Under that, the zoned lumbar keeps you aligned.
How does it sleep hot? Cooler than the base Moonlight thanks to the GlacioTex cover and coil airflow.

Who the Helix Moonlight Luxe is for
Short version: the Helix Moonlight Luxe is a premium hybrid aimed at strict side sleepers and petite sleepers who want a genuinely plush surface over premium coils. Everything below is buying guidance built on the specifications and behaviour described above – use it to decide whether this is the right model in the range before you order.
Who should skip it
- Back sleepers over about 180 lb – the plush surface lets the spine sag. Midnight Luxe or Dawn Luxe are the right picks.
- Stomach sleepers, full stop. Twilight Luxe or Dusk Luxe instead.
- Combo sleepers who reposition constantly; the slower surface takes a moment to recover.
How to buy it without overpaying
- MSRP is around $3,164 queen and Helix runs 25%-off promotions frequently enough that paying full price is unnecessary – the discounted queen lands near $2,373.
- 100-night trial and a 15-year warranty, one of the longer coverage windows in the premium hybrid category.
- The GlacioTex cooling cover is a paid upgrade on some Helix models and included on others; confirm which before adding it.
Sizing, sheets and setup
Measure the doorway, stairwell turn and elevator before delivery day – mattress height and weight cause more failed deliveries than anything else. Check the sheet depth against the mattress height plus any protector you plan to use, and confirm your foundation is either a solid platform, a slatted base with gaps of roughly three inches or less, or a compatible adjustable base. Most warranties are void if the mattress sags on an unsupported frame, so an unsupported centre rail on a queen or larger is worth fixing before the mattress arrives, not after.
Helix Moonlight Luxe FAQ
Is the Moonlight Luxe too soft for a heavier side sleeper?
It handles side sleepers up to roughly 200 lb without bottoming out, because the zoned coil layer stays firm under the lumbar even though the pillowtop is soft.
Moonlight Luxe or Midnight Luxe?
Midnight Luxe is a medium, around 6 out of 10, and better for combo sleepers. Moonlight Luxe is soft-medium, around 4.5, and better for strict side sleepers.
How tall is it and will my sheets fit?
About 13.5 inches. Use deep-pocket sheets rated for 15 inches or more, especially with a mattress protector.
Does it work on an adjustable base?
Yes, the Luxe hybrid build is adjustable-base compatible.
