Purple Rejuvenate Plus Review: The Middle Model That’s Actually the Best
The Rejuvenate Plus takes the standard Rejuvenate’s coil build and adds an extra inch of GelFlex Grid on top — 3 inches total instead of 2. For side sleepers, this is the difference between ‘the grid works’ and ‘the grid works perfectly.’ Middle child, best value.

Quick take
Best for: Side and combo sleepers 140–240 lb who want max grid cushion without a pillowtop feel.
2 inches of grid works for most people. 3 inches works for everyone. The Rejuvenate Plus’s thicker grid means shoulders and hips settle further into the buckling zone before hitting the foam transition layer — deeper pressure relief without any of the ‘stuck’ feeling of memory foam. For a side sleeper with any shoulder issue, this is the model to buy.

Pros & cons
Pros
Best grid experience without pillowtop plushness
Excellent cooling
Handles side sleepers up to ~240 lb
Coil edge holds better than the Plus
Cons
$500 more than the Rejuvenate
Not as plush as the Ultimate — light-weight side sleepers may want more cushion
Heavy
Verdict
For most Purple buyers, the Rejuvenate Plus is the correct pick. You get every grid benefit without paying flagship pricing, and it handles side, back, and combo sleepers equally well.

Why the middle model is the one most people should try first
RejuvenatePlus pairs the DreamLayer top with a 3-inch GelFlex Grid and Active Response+ foam, at 15.5 inches tall. Purple’s own framing is “increased pressure relief,” and the extra grid inch over the base Rejuvenate is what makes it work for side sleepers: there is enough travel for a shoulder to sink before the support layer takes over, while the grid walls still hold the waist up.

How Purple builds it

RejuvenatePlus
DreamLayer top with 3″ GelFlex Grid plus Active Response+ foam, 15.5″ tall
Good fit: side and combination sleepers, couples with different preferred firmnesses (the grid is unusually forgiving of mismatched partners), and anyone with shoulder or hip pressure complaints on a firmer bed.
Poor fit: stomach sleepers, who tend to want a flatter surface, and anyone who needs to keep total bed height down. If you want the deepest possible contouring, the layered grid on Ultimate goes further.
Foundation and base requirements
Purple is specific about what goes underneath, and it is the single most common reason a new grid mattress feels wrong. Purple states that a slatted foundation works only when the slats are no more than 5 inches apart, and that an adjustable base must be rated to at least 750 lbs. A solid platform surface is also fine. If your existing frame has wide slats, add a bunkie board before you judge the feel — the grid will sag into the gaps and read as unsupportive.
Buying terms (from purple.com, September 2026): 100-night sleep trial that starts the day the mattress is delivered, and a 10-year limited warranty that applies to the original purchaser with dated proof of purchase and intact law tags. Resold mattresses are not covered.
Frequently asked questions
Does the GelFlex Grid feel like memory foam?
No. Memory foam softens with body heat and holds an impression; the grid is a hyper-elastic polymer that buckles under concentrated weight and springs straight back everywhere else. That is why the surface can feel firm to a hand press and soft under a hip, and why it does not warm up the way foam does.
Do I need a special sheet set?
Not a special material, but check the pocket depth. The Restore models are 13 inches and the Rejuvenate models run 14.5 to 17.5 inches, so deep-pocket sheets are worthwhile on anything in the Rejuvenate line.
Can it go on an adjustable base?
Yes, provided the base is rated to at least 750 lbs, per Purple’s own compatibility guidance. Grid mattresses flex well, so articulation is not a problem.
Is this the sweet spot of the range?
For most side and combo sleepers, yes — it has the deeper grid of the flagship without the 17.5-inch height and top-of-line price of Ultimate. Buyers who specifically want a floating, weightless surface are the ones who should keep going up.
