Purple Rejuvenate Review: The Cheapest Way Into Purple‘s Premium Line

The Rejuvenate is the entry-level model in Purple‘s premium hybrid collection. GelFlex Grid on top, individually wrapped coils below, at a price that undercuts the Restore line. If you want Purple‘s grid with real coil support and don’t need the plush comfort of the Rejuvenate Plus/Ultimate, this is the model.

Quick take

  • Best for: Back and combo sleepers who want the grid + hybrid support at the lowest premium price.
  • Feel: Medium-firm (~6.5/10)
  • Height: 12 inches
  • Price: ~$2,499 queen
  • Trial / warranty: 100 nights / 10 years

Why go hybrid over the Plus?

Two reasons: better edge support and better airflow. The wrapped coils under the grid form a real perimeter — sitting on the edge, it holds. And the coil layer moves air, so the already-cool grid gets even cooler. If cooling and edge matter, the Rejuvenate beats the Plus by a clear margin.

Rejuvenate vs Rejuvenate Plus vs Ultimate

The Rejuvenate has the standard 2″ GelFlex Grid. The Rejuvenate Plus adds an extra inch of grid (total 3″). The Rejuvenate Ultimate adds a plush pillowtop over the grid. All three use the same coil system. Pick Rejuvenate if you want a firmer feel; step up if you’re a side sleeper or want more cushion.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • Cheapest premium Purple with coils
  • Better edge and airflow than the Plus
  • Class-leading cooling
  • 10-year warranty

Cons

  • Feels firm — side sleepers should consider Plus or Ultimate
  • Grid feel takes 2–3 weeks to adjust to
  • Heavier than the Plus

Verdict

The Rejuvenate is the smart pick for back sleepers who want Purple‘s grid + a real hybrid build without paying flagship prices. Side sleepers should step up to the Plus or Ultimate.

The cheapest way into the pillowtop line — what you give up

Rejuvenate is the entry model in Purple’s pillowtop family: a DreamLayer top over a 2-inch GelFlex Grid, with responsive coils beneath, at 14.5 inches tall. Purple markets it as balanced comfort and support rather than maximum pressure relief, and that is a fair description — 2 inches of grid contours noticeably less than the 3-inch and layered versions above it.

Model How Purple builds it
Rejuvenate DreamLayer top with 2″ GelFlex Grid, 14.5″ tall — the entry point into the pillowtop line
RejuvenatePlus DreamLayer top with 3″ GelFlex Grid plus Active Response+ foam, 15.5″ tall
RejuvenateUltimate Layered 2″ + 3″ GelFlex Grid, 17.5″ tall — the deepest grid Purple builds
RestorePlus Hybrid Deeper 3″ GelFlex Grid over zoned coils, 13″ tall — the back-pain pick
RestorePremier Hybrid Deep-contouring 3″ GelFlex Grid over CoolFlex coils, 13″ tall — Purple’s coolest hybrid

Cross-shopping inside the family is easier side by side: our Purple models compared hub lays out every current bed, and the Yawnder comparison engine puts any two mattresses in one table.

Who it fits — and who should look elsewhere

  • Good fit: back and combination sleepers who want the grid experience with a luxury top, buyers at average weight, and anyone who found the taller Purple beds too immersive in a showroom.
  • Poor fit: heavier side sleepers, who will bottom the 2-inch grid out at the shoulder and hip; step up to RejuvenatePlus or Ultimate. Also poor for anyone who wants a low bed height — 14.5 inches plus a protector and sheets is a tall stack.

Foundation and base requirements

Purple is specific about what goes underneath, and it is the single most common reason a new grid mattress feels wrong. Purple states that a slatted foundation works only when the slats are no more than 5 inches apart, and that an adjustable base must be rated to at least 750 lbs. A solid platform surface is also fine. If your existing frame has wide slats, add a bunkie board before you judge the feel — the grid will sag into the gaps and read as unsupportive.

Buying terms (from purple.com, September 2026): 100-night sleep trial that starts the day the mattress is delivered, and a 10-year limited warranty that applies to the original purchaser with dated proof of purchase and intact law tags. Resold mattresses are not covered.

Frequently asked questions

Does the GelFlex Grid feel like memory foam?

No. Memory foam softens with body heat and holds an impression; the grid is a hyper-elastic polymer that buckles under concentrated weight and springs straight back everywhere else. That is why the surface can feel firm to a hand press and soft under a hip, and why it does not warm up the way foam does.

Do I need a special sheet set?

Not a special material, but check the pocket depth. The Restore models are 13 inches and the Rejuvenate models run 14.5 to 17.5 inches, so deep-pocket sheets are worthwhile on anything in the Rejuvenate line.

Can it go on an adjustable base?

Yes, provided the base is rated to at least 750 lbs, per Purple’s own compatibility guidance. Grid mattresses flex well, so articulation is not a problem.

Rejuvenate or RestorePlus at a similar spend?

Rejuvenate is a taller, plusher pillowtop with a thinner grid; RestorePlus is a shorter hybrid with a deeper grid over zoned coils. Choose Rejuvenate for a cushioned surface feel, RestorePlus for targeted lumbar support.
