Purple sells two families. The Restore beds are hybrids built on coils, and the Rejuvenate beds are taller pillowtops built for pressure relief. Restore Premier is the top of the hybrid family: Purple describes it as a deep-contouring 3-inch GelFlex Grid over CoolFlex coils, in a 13-inch profile, and markets it as its coolest sleep. If you want coils under the grid rather than a tall foam-and-grid stack, this is the ceiling of that side of the range.

Good fit: back and combination sleepers who want a premium hybrid, people who run warm and want the grid plus a coil airflow path, and couples who want edge support for sitting and getting in and out.
Poor fit: strict side sleepers who need deep shoulder relief — the layered grid on RejuvenateUltimate is the better shape for that. Also a poor fit if you need a low-profile bed for a platform frame with tall rails, since the pillowtop pushes the sleep surface higher than the 13-inch spec suggests once bedding is on.
Foundation and base requirements
Purple is specific about what goes underneath, and it is the single most common reason a new grid mattress feels wrong. Purple states that a slatted foundation works only when the slats are no more than 5 inches apart, and that an adjustable base must be rated to at least 750 lbs. A solid platform surface is also fine. If your existing frame has wide slats, add a bunkie board before you judge the feel — the grid will sag into the gaps and read as unsupportive.
Buying terms (from purple.com, September 2026): 100-night sleep trial that starts the day the mattress is delivered, and a 10-year limited warranty that applies to the original purchaser with dated proof of purchase and intact law tags. Resold mattresses are not covered.

Does the GelFlex Grid feel like memory foam?
No. Memory foam softens with body heat and holds an impression; the grid is a hyper-elastic polymer that buckles under concentrated weight and springs straight back everywhere else. That is why the surface can feel firm to a hand press and soft under a hip, and why it does not warm up the way foam does.
Do I need a special sheet set?
Not a special material, but check the pocket depth. The Restore models are 13 inches and the Rejuvenate models run 14.5 to 17.5 inches, so deep-pocket sheets are worthwhile on anything in the Rejuvenate line.
Can it go on an adjustable base?
Yes, provided the base is rated to at least 750 lbs, per Purple’s own compatibility guidance. Grid mattresses flex well, so articulation is not a problem.
Restore Premier or RestorePlus?
Both use a 3-inch grid at 13 inches tall. The difference Purple draws is the coil unit: RestorePlus uses zoned coils and is positioned for back pain, while Restore Premier uses CoolFlex coils and is positioned as the cooler, more immersive of the two. Pick on temperature and feel preference, not on price tier alone.
