Best Mattresses Made in the USA (2026): Verified American-Made Picks

US-made mattresses we can document, each with the brand's own published manufacturing statement, plus our measured test scores.

Shopping for an American-made mattress usually means one of three things: you want the quality control and labor standards that come with domestic factories, you want a shorter supply chain, or you simply want to support US manufacturing. The hard part is that “made in the USA” is one of the most abused phrases in mattress marketing — brands say it about beds that are merely assembled stateside from imported components, or designed here and poured overseas. This page only lists mattresses where we can point to the brand’s own published statement, quote it, and link you to it — and where we have measured the mattress in our own testing.

Made vs. assembled: the wording matters

Under FTC rules, an unqualified “Made in USA” claim requires that all or virtually all of the product is made in the United States. “Assembled in the USA” is a softer, legal claim meaning the last substantial transformation happened here with components that may be imported. We do not adjudicate which brands clear which bar — instead we quote the brand’s exact published wording and mark each pick accordingly. Where a brand says assembled, this page says assembled. Where a brand documents domestic manufacturing with domestic and imported materials, we say that too.

How we verified each mattress on this page

A mattress qualifies only when two things are true: we hold a first-party published statement about US manufacturing for its brand — with the exact wording quoted and the source linked — and we hold a measured score from our own testing for that exact model. Brands we could not document from their own published pages are simply absent; absence here is not an accusation. Several big online brands manufacture overseas or stay vague on origin, and we will not publish an origin claim we cannot source. Our full measurement protocol is at how we test mattresses.

The best US-made mattresses we’ve tested

Every mattress below is here for two reasons: the brand publishes a specific US-manufacturing statement, quoted and linked, and we have measured the mattress ourselves. 142 mattresses: 51 with complete standardized lab records and 91 with partial records. Partial means some standardized measurements are available, but the full testing record is not yet complete.

Brands we could not verify for this page

This list is intentionally limited to the 7 brands above, whose statements we quote and link. Well-known names are missing on purpose: some manufacture outside the US entirely, and others use origin language too vague to quote responsibly. Note that several brands listed here use a mix of domestic and imported materials — US manufacturing does not mean every component is American. If a brand you are considering is absent, ask them one direct question: where is this exact model manufactured, and where are its foam, coils, and cover made?

Does US-made mean better?

Not automatically — origin is a proxy, not a performance metric. That is why every pick above is ranked by our measured scores, not by patriotism. Domestic factories do tend to offer tighter quality control, faster problem resolution, and fresher foam that hasn’t spent weeks in a shipping container, but an imported mattress with better measured performance will beat an American-made one in our rankings every time. Use origin as a tiebreaker between beds you already like.

Frequently asked questions

Are CertiPUR-US certified mattresses made in the USA?

No. CertiPUR-US is a foam content certification covering emissions and chemicals — it certifies the foam, wherever it was poured. Both imported and domestic foams can carry it.

Is “assembled in the USA” the same as made in the USA?

No. Assembly means imported components were put together stateside. It is a legitimate claim with real domestic labor behind it, but it is not the same as manufacturing, and we label each pick with the brand’s own wording.

Why are some famous brands missing?

Either they manufacture outside the US or we could not find a current first-party statement specific enough to quote. This page changes when brands publish verifiable statements.

Can I try these in person?

Yes for part of the list. The Yawnder San Diego showroom has 39 mattresses from 14 mattress brands on the floor, including several of the US-made lines above. Not every model is in stock at all times, so check the showroom page first.

What about organic American-made mattresses?

Origin and certification are separate questions. Several picks above are organic too — our organic mattress guide covers certifications in depth, and our fiberglass-free guide documents fire barriers the same evidence-first way.
