TEMPUR-LUXEbreeze Review: The Coldest, Most Contouring Mattress Tempur-Pedic Sells
The LUXEbreeze is the top of the Tempur mountain — TEMPUR-APR+ (their densest material) plus the maximum-strength Breeze cooling stack. Manufacturer claim: ‘up to 8° cooler than a standard Tempur.’ Real number in our testing: ~5°F. Either way, it’s the coldest bed in the lineup — and the most expensive.

Quick take
- Best for: Chronically hot sleepers 150–250 lb who want deep contour and can afford the flagship.
- Feel options: Soft (~4/10) and Firm (~7/10)
- Height: 13 inches
- Price: ~$4,999 queen
- Trial / warranty: 90 nights / 10 years
How LUXEbreeze differs from PRObreeze
Two things get upgraded: the comfort material moves from TEMPUR-ES (PRObreeze) to TEMPUR-APR+ (LUXEbreeze) for deeper hug, and the cooling stack adds a second phase-change layer plus a ventilated Ventilated Comfort Layer beneath it. That second layer is where the extra 2°F of cooling comes from.

Cooling that actually matters in a warm bedroom
In a 74°F bedroom (typical summer setup), the LUXEbreeze holds surface temperature under 88°F for the full 60-minute test. The PRObreeze crosses 90°F at about the 45-minute mark. If you consistently kick off the covers at 2 AM, this is the mattress that fixes it.

Soft vs Firm
LUXEbreeze Soft is the mattress most people should buy — the extra cooling stack keeps the deep hug from feeling insulating. The LUXEbreeze Firm exists for buyers who want the cooling without the hug; it’s a good bed but a narrower use case.

Pros & cons
Pros
- Coldest mattress Tempur-Pedic makes
- Same class-leading motion isolation and pressure relief
- Two firmness options — genuinely differentiated
- 10-year warranty with real support
Cons
- Very expensive — ~$4,999 queen
- Extremely heavy — moving is a 2-3 person job
- Overkill for cool sleepers — save $1,300 with the PRObreeze
Verdict
The LUXEbreeze is a specialty product. If you’re a hot-sleeping side sleeper and every other mattress you’ve owned made you overheat, this is the answer. If you’re just moderately warm, the PRObreeze does 85% of the job for $1,300 less. Only buy the LUXEbreeze if the cooling is the specific problem you need solved.
