Firmness, responsiveness, and intimacy
Most couples with mixed sleep positions do best near medium to medium-firm, but one number cannot settle a large comfort disagreement. A split king or a mattress offering split firmness is the honest solution when one person wants plush and the other wants firm. Responsiveness also matters: very slow foam can be excellent at stopping motion but harder to change position on.
