We show insufficient standardized data for value: less than 75% of the weighting those categories use is measured for one of these two mattresses. Missing metrics are never scored as zero, and where at least 75% is available we renormalize the remaining weights and label the result “based on available standardized data”.
Winners come from our standardized test scores and hands-on rubric, weighted the same way as our ranked guides. Where the gap is under 0.3 of a point we publish a tie rather than force a result. How we test.

Which mattress feels softer?
Both are rated 6.5/10 for firmness in this comparison. A shared firmness score does not mean they feel identical or provide identical support; try each mattress if possible.
Which is better for side sleepers?
Helix Midnight has the higher weighted side-sleeper score, 8.8 against 8.4; the individual pressure-relief and motion-isolation scores are tied. Side sleeping rewards a comfort layer that lets the shoulder in without letting the hips twist out of line. DreamCloud Premier Hybrid is the alternative if the firmness or the price suits you better. See our full ranking.
Which is better for back sleepers?
Helix Midnight has the higher weighted back-sleeper score, 9.1 against 8.0; responsiveness is tied. Back sleeping is decided by whether the hips stay level with the shoulders once you settle. DreamCloud Premier Hybrid is the alternative if the firmness or the price suits you better.
Which is better for stomach sleepers?
Helix scores 9.1 versus 7.9 for this weighted comparison, but a higher relative score does not guarantee enough support for every stomach sleeper. In our individual Helix review, Ben generally recommends considering a firmer model, particularly for average-weight and heavier stomach sleepers. Check whether your hips stay supported when you try either mattress.
Which is better for heavier sleepers?
Helix Midnight has the higher weighted score for heavier sleepers, 8.7 against 8.4; the individual pressure-relief and edge-support scores are tied. Heavier bodies compress a comfort layer further, so support and edge behaviour matter more than plushness. We do not make durability claims beyond our published durability outlook. DreamCloud Premier Hybrid is the alternative if the firmness or the price suits you better. See our full ranking.
Which sleeps cooler?
This is a tie: Helix Midnight Mattress scores 9.2/10 for cooling and DreamCloud Premier Hybrid scores 9.2/10. A gap that small is not something you would notice in your own bedroom, so decide on something else.
Which isolates motion better?
This is a tie: Helix Midnight Mattress scores 9.2/10 for motion isolation and DreamCloud Premier Hybrid scores 9.2/10. A gap that small is not something you would notice in your own bedroom, so decide on something else.
Which has better edge support?
This is a tie: Helix Midnight Mattress scores 8.7/10 for edge support and DreamCloud Premier Hybrid scores 8.7/10. A gap that small is not something you would notice in your own bedroom, so decide on something else.
Which is easier to move around on?
This is a tie: Helix Midnight Mattress scores 8.7/10 for responsiveness and DreamCloud Premier Hybrid scores 8.7/10. A gap that small is not something you would notice in your own bedroom, so decide on something else.
Which is better for couples?
Effectively a tie — 8.9 against 8.9 once we weight motion isolation, edge support, cooling and responsiveness. Couples are a trade-off: motion isolation and edge support pull in opposite directions to responsiveness, and cooling decides whether two bodies in one bed stay comfortable. See our full ranking.
Which is better for sex?
Effectively a tie — 8.9 against 8.9 once we weight responsiveness, edge support and cooling. This comes down to how quickly the surface springs back and whether the edges hold — the same qualities that make a bed easy to move around on. See our full ranking.
Which is the better value?
Insufficient standardized data: less than 75% of the weighting this category uses (the value score, read next to the queen price) is measured for one of these two — no standardized value score, so we do not name a winner. We do not score a missing metric as zero.
Trial, warranty and returns
Both brands list a 365-night trial for qualifying direct purchases in the comparison above. Confirm the current trial, return fees and warranty for the exact seller and model. Yawnder’s in-store purchase terms are separate; consult our store policy before buying.
