The Bear Elite Hybrid is a premium foam-and-coil mattress available in Soft, Medium and Firm. It is separate from the Elite Ultra Hybrid, which adds a microcoil comfort layer and includes the CoolForce layer as standard. Compare the exact model and cover option before ordering.

Original Bear footage: Medium bounce and an older motion demo
My fit context: Ben Trapskin, 6 feet 3 inches and 220 pounds. The 7.9/10 overall score and category scores are hands-on editorial ratings, not physical units or measured years of service.
The original Medium bounce clip, embedded below, was published September 11, 2026. It shows a ball-drop bounce demonstration on the Medium build. You can inspect the surface response and rebound directly; the clip does not establish a calibrated recovery time, cooling result or how the Soft and Firm versions perform.
The March 15, 2023 motion-transfer clip is historical footage. Cover and construction options may differ from the current listing. The current 14-inch height is manufacturer-listed, not a new tape-measure result, and the available record does not identify optional cooling-cover upgrades on the tested sample.

Feel and cooling materials
Bear describes Celliant as infrared-responsive cover technology. Its current Elite Hybrid listing includes a Celliant cover, with an optional CoolForce layer beneath it. These are manufacturer material descriptions, not a promise that a mattress will heal muscles or improve a medical condition.
Cooling comfort also depends on room temperature, bedding and the sleeper. Our existing cooling rating is 7.3/10, so this review does not call the Elite Hybrid one of the coolest beds we have tested.
What to check in person: Try the named firmness in your usual sleep position. Compare shoulder cushioning, how your hips settle and how easily you can turn over; comfort on a related Bear model does not establish the fit of this one.

Bear currently lists a 14-inch profile with quilted cover and comfort foams, transition foam, an eight-inch zoned pocket-coil core and base foam. The illustration above is from our earlier review archive; layer names and optional cooling components can change.

Pressure relief and side sleeping
The existing pressure-relief rating is 7.1/10. Side sleepers should try the firmness that lets the shoulder settle while supporting the waist. No instrument-measured pressure map is claimed for this record.
Edge support
The existing edge-support rating is 7.6/10. Check both sitting and lying near the edge; neither a reinforced coil perimeter nor a single rating guarantees the same feel for every sleeper.

How to choose the right Elite Hybrid configuration
Firmness: Bear offers Soft, Medium and Firm. Start with Soft if you want more surface cushioning, Medium if you want a balanced feel, and Firm if you prefer less give. Those are starting points, not rules: body size and position can change your experience. The existing Yawnder rating should not be applied automatically to all three builds.
Cooling: Bear lists a Celliant cover and an optional CoolForce layer on the current Elite Hybrid. Compare the exact configurations and prices. A cool surface at first touch does not establish how cool you will sleep all night, and the cover’s recovery marketing does not establish a medical benefit.
Sharing a bed: The existing record lists motion isolation at 8.0/10 and edge support at 7.6/10. Have each partner try getting in and out, rolling over, and lying near the edge. A responsive hybrid can feel different from an all-foam mattress, and a reinforced edge can compress differently when sitting than when lying down.
Delivery and ownership: Measure doorways and the combined height of the frame and mattress. Follow Bear’s foundation and unpacking requirements, keep your receipt, and confirm the seller’s trial and exchange rules. Bear’s own pages have shown both 120 and 365 nights, so verify the written offer for your order. Its limited lifetime warranty is subject to conditions and does not guarantee a particular comfort feel.
