Quick answer: Purple mattresses sold new by Purple or an authorized U.S. retailer carry a 10-year limited warranty for the original purchaser.
What Purple covers
The warranty covers qualifying defects caused by faulty workmanship or materials. Purple decides whether an approved claim is repaired or replaced.
Who pays transportation?
For a valid warranty claim made after 100 days from the original purchase date, Purple says transportation costs associated with repair or replacement are the purchaser’s responsibility, capped at Purple’s then-standard freight charges.
Foundation requirements
Purple requires a firm, solid-surface, non-spring foundation or structurally capable adjustable base. Inappropriate foundations, box springs, bases or frames can void the warranty.
Replacement mattresses
A warranty replacement does not receive a new sleep trial or comfort exchange. Its warranty continues from the original purchase date.

What to document before a Purple claim
- Your original purchase record
- The mattress law tag and model information
- Clear photos of the claimed defect
- The frame, platform or adjustable base supporting the mattress
- Overall mattress condition
Because Purple specifically requires an appropriate support system, foundation photos are worth taking before you move the mattress.
Comfort changes are different from defects
A change in feel does not by itself establish a warranty defect. If the issue is comfort and the purchase is still within an applicable return period, review the Purple return-policy rules. Warranty claims should focus on the specific defect and the documentation supporting it.
