Mattress review & brand hub · 2026 guide
Compare the actual Englander build
Englander’s catalog includes conventional coil-supported mattresses, memory-foam upholstery and latex-containing hybrids. The useful comparison is the named model sold by your retailer, with its actual specification sheet.
Updated October 8, 2026. This review and brand hub assesses manufacturer specifications and published buying terms. It does not assign hands-on test scores to these current models.
Current models to compare
| Current named model | Verified manufacturer highlights | Best reason to compare it | Before you buy |
|---|---|---|---|
Holburn Firm | Tencel cover, fabric-wrapped coils and Englander Edge technology. | A straightforward firm coil-supported starting point. | Exact local build, surface feel and delivered price. |
Essex Pillow Top | Cool-touch cover, copper memory foam and a coil support system. | A more upholstered surface than a flatter firm model. | Total height and whether the pillow-top cushion suits your shoulder/hip fit. |
Camberwell Latex Hybrid | Three inches of manufacturer-described natural copper Talalay latex, a phase-change cover and fabric-wrapped springs. | A latex-containing hybrid comparison. | Latex response, exact firmness and the seller’s comfort policy. |
Tension Ease H2 | Chill Touch cover, Tension Ease HD foam and Edge Max 1000 support system. | A different foam and perimeter-support package to compare in person. | Specification sheet and a real seller quote. |
Everest Extra Firm | Copper-infused memory foam, spring support and Englander Edge technology. | A firmer current-model shortlist. | The exact Extra Firm build; the photographed example is a representative Everest variant. |
These five names are useful starting points rather than a complete list of every Englander mattress sold by every licensee. The checked public catalog also contains other names, and local dealers may carry a different selection. Search the exact name the seller puts on the invoice.
A product page is evidence that the brand describes that model; it is not proof that a particular store has it in stock or that a website placeholder price is a valid offer. Get the size, build and price from the selling dealer.
Materials & construction

Different constructions under one brand
Holburn Firm emphasizes a wrapped-coil construction and edge technology. Essex adds a pillow-top surface and copper memory foam. Camberwell uses a latex-containing comfort package over fabric-wrapped springs. Those are meaningful differences even before you compare the firmness labels.
Latex and memory foam have different response characteristics. Latex tends to respond quickly when you move; memory foam typically contours with a slower response. The amount and placement of each material matter, so do not assume that a single copper or cooling label tells you the whole mattress feel.
Read layer and coil descriptions precisely
Camberwell’s current page specifies three inches of natural copper Talalay latex. That is more useful than a generic “latex hybrid” label because it tells you which material package the brand is describing. It still does not establish a measured pressure-relief score or the construction of a differently named local model.
Edge Max 1000, Englander Edge and Elite Edge are names associated with specified product builds. Ask whether the seller’s model uses the same perimeter construction and which size its coil count refers to. A count quoted for a larger size should not be copied onto a smaller mattress.
Cooling is a feature to evaluate, not a score
The checked pages include Tencel, Chill Touch, cool-touch and phase-change cover descriptions, as well as copper-infused comfort materials. These identify the manufacturer’s intended material functions. They do not supply Yawnder overnight temperature measurements.
Try the surface with normal bedding when possible. A cover that feels cool under your hand is a different observation from sleeping cool through the night. We would choose the support and pressure-relief fit first, then consider whether the cover package is a useful addition.
Sleeper fit
Treat the model names below as a starting shortlist. Englander’s public descriptions do not give us a consistent numerical firmness scale or current-model test results to apply across all retailers.
- Side sleepers: compare an appropriately cushioned Essex Pillow Top or a suitable Camberwell configuration. The right surface should admit the shoulder while holding the hips and waist in a balanced position.
- Back sleepers: try a balanced surface with steady pelvic support. A firmer mattress is useful only if it does not leave an uncomfortable gap under the lower back.
- Stomach sleepers: Holburn Firm and Everest Extra Firm are sensible names to investigate first, subject to the actual local specification and feel.
- Combination sleepers: Camberwell’s latex-containing package may be interesting if quick response matters. Compare it directly with the foam-forward upholstery you are considering.
- Couples: test both partner movement and sitting near the edge. A branded edge system describes a construction feature; it does not establish a verified score for your particular mattress.
If the dealer only provides a brand name and a height, there is not enough information for a useful recommendation. Ask for the top style, comfort materials and core. That makes it easier to choose a firmness without assuming that one Englander mattress represents the entire brand.
Value, pros & cons
Englander is a good candidate for shoppers who want to compare several constructions at a local retailer, especially a latex-containing hybrid or a firmer coil-supported model. Its value depends on the offered build, seller price and return terms rather than a universal online ranking.
The checked Everest and Tension Ease pages contain unfinished commerce or service placeholders. We have not interpreted a zero-dollar field as a real price, and the page’s generic delivery text is not a usable shipping or refund promise. A written dealer quote is the appropriate price reference.
When comparing Camberwell with another latex hybrid, compare the actual latex package and full delivered cost. When comparing Essex with a mainstream pillow-top, evaluate cushion depth, support and height. That is a more useful decision than trying to rank every Englander mattress together.
Reasons to consider it
- Current product pages identify several distinct material and top constructions.
- Camberwell provides a specific latex comfort-layer description.
- Firm and Extra Firm named models are available to investigate.
- Local dealers may allow a direct comparison with other store brands.
Tradeoffs to consider
- National public pages do not establish one consistent dealer price or trial.
- Regional production and seller model names require specification matching.
- Some public commerce/service fields are placeholders.
- Manufacturer feature names cannot be converted into tested scores.
Retailer terms & warranty
| Where to buy | Confirm the exact model with an authorized retailer or local seller |
|---|---|
| Price reference | Written quote for your size, firmness, foundation and delivery service |
| Comfort trial | Retailer-specific; establish refund versus exchange and pickup fees |
| Warranty reference | Exact written warranty supplied for that model and manufacturing source |
| National warranty wording | Public site advertises a non-prorated warranty; do not infer one term for every local build |
| Delivery reference | Seller’s service agreement, including setup and old-mattress removal |
Englander’s national site identifies a manufacturing and distribution network. For a practical purchase, record both the model and the manufacturer/licensee information on the law tag. It can matter when matching a mattress or handling a warranty request.
Ask the dealer for the actual warranty document rather than relying on a footer badge or a generic assurance that the mattress is covered. Confirm the term, eligible defects, foundation requirements and costs to service a claim. A non-prorated description is not enough to infer every condition or the duration.
Before paying, make the comfort policy part of the quote: how long you must keep the bed, when a request is allowed, whether it is a refund or exchange and who arranges transport. For a final-sale sample, judge the price with that final-sale condition included.
Frequently asked questions
Is Englander still making mattresses?
The checked current national site lists a mattress catalog, current named product pages and a manufacturing/distribution network.
Are all Englander mattresses latex hybrids?
No. The checked models include coil support with different comfort packages. Camberwell is a named latex-containing hybrid; other models emphasize memory foam or a different upholstery package.
Is an Englander zero-dollar catalog field a real offer?
We have not treated the unfinished fields on the checked public pages as valid pricing. Get an actual quote from the seller for the mattress and size you want.
Does every Englander mattress have the same trial?
No universal dealer comfort policy is established by the national product pages. Use the selling retailer’s written return or exchange policy.
Which Englander models should firm-mattress buyers investigate?
Holburn Firm and Everest Extra Firm are current named candidates. Confirm the exact local build and try the surface rather than relying on the label alone.
Is Camberwell the same as Sleep On Latex Pure Green?
No. The checked Camberwell is a latex-containing spring hybrid; Pure Green is an all-latex mattress. Compare like constructions and seller terms.
