Organic mattress review & brand hub · 2026 guide

Pure Green or the new latex hybrid?

Sleep On Latex now has two distinct mattress choices: an all-latex Pure Green and a two-sided organic latex hybrid. The right choice starts with the support system and how you want the mattress delivered.

The hybrid also offers a separate tufted topper package. The checked Queen configuration totals are $2,699 with the Comfort Topper and $2,999 with the Luxury Topper. Those are package prices rather than the cost of the base mattress alone. Choose the support feel first, then decide whether you want the additional surface cushioning.

Medium and Firm are offered in both mattresses. The same firmness word does not make an all-latex mattress feel identical to a two-sided coil hybrid. Their support systems, covers, weights and delivery methods differ.

Construction & materials

Pure Green: latex from surface to support core

Pure Green uses latex foam for both its comfort layer and its supportive base. The cover combines organic cotton fabric and wool batting. This is the simpler choice if you want a mattress without a metal coil unit and prefer a responsive surface over the slow, body-hugging response of memory foam.

The product page lists GOLS-certified organic latex and GOTS certification for the mattress, along with other named material certifications. Those labels address their particular standards. They do not tell us that every person will prefer the feel, and “organic” should not be used as a promise that a mattress treats an allergy or a medical condition.

Hybrid: a genuinely two-sided construction

The hybrid has a pocket-spring core, an organic hemp buffer and latex on both sleeping sides. Sleep On Latex specifies two inches of latex per side, four inches total. That is different from four inches of latex concentrated above a coil unit on a one-sided mattress. The hand-tufted construction holds the assembled layers together.

Its cotton brushed-twill cover is a different surface from Pure Green’s knit fabric. The optional tufted topper adds another component rather than changing the underlying support unit. Medium or Firm plus a topper creates several possible combinations, so the base price should always be kept separate from the package price.

Who each model fits

Fit guidance here is inferred from the published construction. It is a starting point for choosing a firmness and evaluating the home trial.

  • Side sleepers: start with Medium. Lightweight sleepers who want very deep shoulder cushioning should consider whether a separate topper is needed. Firm latex can feel too resistant at the shoulder even if it holds the pelvis well.
  • Back sleepers: compare Medium and Firm according to pelvic support and the cushion under the lower back. A responsive surface can make changing positions easier than a mattress with a slow memory-foam response.
  • Stomach sleepers: Firm is the more logical first candidate, but confirm that your hips stay level and that the pillow height matches the flatter position.
  • Combination sleepers: the material’s springy response is relevant if you dislike feeling stuck in a deep foam impression. The hybrid adds a coil support system to that response.
  • Couples: do not equate latex responsiveness with a verified motion-isolation score. Use the trial to assess rolling movement, partner disturbance and how the edge feels to both people.

For hot sleepers, the latex, wool and coil construction of the hybrid provides a different material mix from a dense all-memory-foam bed. That does not establish a tested cooling ranking. Your bedding and room still matter. Neither model should be selected solely because a material is described as breathable.

Value, pros & cons

Pure Green’s main value proposition is clear: a straightforward all-latex mattress at a checked Queen price of $1,299. The practical tradeoff is handling. At 125–145 lb for a Queen, moving and setting up the box is more demanding than the simple product photography suggests. Arrange help rather than assume the delivery person will assemble it.

The $1,999 base hybrid brings coils, finished sleeping surfaces on both sides and included in-home setup. It is a different value calculation from a compressed mattress you install yourself. If the topper package appeals, compare the full $2,699 or $2,999 Queen cost with other complete latex hybrids.

We would choose between the two by support preference and delivery needs before focusing on certifications. A buyer who wants an uncomplicated all-latex feel may have little reason to pay for a coil hybrid; a buyer who wants a coil core and setup service may reasonably prefer it.

Reasons to consider it

  • Two clearly identified current mattress types with Medium and Firm options.
  • Transparent Queen weights and separate base/topper package prices.
  • Organic cotton, wool and latex details are described on the product pages.
  • The hybrid has two finished sleeping sides and includes in-home setup.

Tradeoffs to consider

  • Both Queen mattresses are heavy; rotating or flipping the hybrid needs planning.
  • Latex has a responsive feel that differs from slow-sinking memory foam.
  • The hybrid costs more, particularly after adding a tufted topper.
  • Certifications are not a substitute for testing comfort during the trial.

Hybrid deliveryUncompressed freight; setup, packaging removal and one flight of stairs included

Sleep On Latex advertises free mattress returns, with pickup coordinated through its policy. Expedited shipping, international/custom charges and other specifically excluded services are not the same thing as the mattress purchase price. Read the full policy if your order includes extra services or a separate topper.

For the hybrid, confirm the route into your bedroom. The manufacturer specifically includes one flight of stairs and packaging removal. Additional stairs, scheduling constraints or removing an old mattress should be confirmed as separate service questions; do not assume they are included merely because setup is included.

Support both mattresses with the base required by the manufacturer. Protect the surface, retain the order details and plan for the weight before trying to rotate or flip a Queen. The hybrid’s two-sided design is useful only if you can handle its care routine safely and consistently.

Relevant alternatives

Compare Pure Green with an all-latex alternative if you want to preserve that construction. If you want coils plus latex, the more relevant comparisons are Birch and the latex-hybrid options in our Avocado guide. Match the actual model, topper and delivery package rather than comparing the base price of one bed to the pillow-top price of another.

Our Saatva Latex Hybrid review is another useful reference for a latex-and-coil construction. Verify each seller’s live price and return fee before treating a headline price as an apples-to-apples comparison. For a very firm sleep surface, compare the specific Firm Sleep On Latex model with the constructions in our Plank Firm Luxe review; the material feel will be different.

Frequently asked questions

Is Sleep On Latex Pure Green a memory-foam mattress?

No. Its comfort and support layers are latex, with a cotton-and-wool cover. Latex has a different, more responsive feel from memory foam.

Is the Sleep On Latex hybrid flippable?

The manufacturer describes a two-sided mattress with latex and finished sleeping surfaces on both sides. Its Queen weight is substantial, so plan for help when flipping it.

Are Medium and Firm the same across both mattresses?

They are two offered firmness options, not a guarantee of identical feel between an all-latex core and a pocket-coil hybrid.

Does the hybrid price include the topper?

The checked $1,999 Queen price is the base mattress without a topper. Comfort and Luxury topper packages cost more.

Do both mattresses include in-home setup?

The hybrid specifically includes in-home delivery and setup. Pure Green is compressed and boxed; do not assume the same setup service applies.

Does the mattress trial also cover a separate topper for 100 days?

The general topper return period is 30 days. Confirm the terms of a hybrid-plus-topper order with Sleep On Latex rather than applying the mattress window automatically.
