Mattress review & brand hub · 2026 guide
Which Spring Air collection fits your needs?
Spring Air spans conventional hybrids, copper-branded foam and hybrid models, a dual-sided Four Seasons collection and luxury Chattam & Wells. Start with the construction and exact model rather than the brand name alone.
Updated October 8, 2026. This review and brand hub assesses manufacturer specifications and published buying terms. It does not assign hands-on test scores to these current models.
Current collections
| Collection | What the checked lineup emphasizes | Where to start | What to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
Back Supporter Hybrid | Coil hybrids in multiple firmness/top configurations. | Start with the firmness you need, then compare the named model. | Coil unit, comfort foam, height and final delivered price. |
Copper | Copper-branded cover / foam features across both hybrid and all-foam models. | Useful if you want to compare a smoother foam feel with a coil-supported option. | Whether the specific mattress actually has coils; copper does not identify the support system. |
Four Seasons | Dual-sided design marketed for different seasonal sleeping surfaces. | Consider if you specifically want two usable surfaces. | How the two sides differ, firmness, care instructions and handling weight. |
Chattam & Wells | A separate luxury collection offered through the Spring Air site. | Try when premium upholstery and a luxury surface are your priorities. | Exact model, delivery service, total bed height and seller trial. |
The current online collection pages are a better starting point than an older list of retailer names. Back Supporter, Copper and Four Seasons cover different briefs; Chattam & Wells deserves its own detailed comparison. See our existing Chattam & Wells mattress guide for that luxury line.
Do not assume a store’s Spring Air mattress has the exact construction advertised for a similarly named model online. Match the full collection, model, size and feel, and request a specification sheet when the seller uses an exclusive name.
Materials & construction

Back Supporter: compare the whole model name
Back Supporter is the sensible starting family for someone who wants a conventional coil-supported hybrid. The checked collection contains several comfort choices. A firmness name describes the feel target; it does not identify the foam package or coil count of every mattress in the family.
For a useful comparison, record the model’s comfort materials, top style and support unit. If you are comparing a Firm with a Plush Euro Top, you are changing more than a firmness label. A tall upholstered surface can add shoulder cushion while also changing the way the pelvis settles into the bed.
Copper: a material label, not a single construction
Spring Air’s Copper collection includes hybrid and foam options. A copper-infused cover or foam layer is therefore not enough to tell you what supports the mattress. Check whether the model uses a coil unit or a foam core before comparing response, handling or price.
The manufacturer links its copper materials to cooling and freshness. Those are material claims, not Yawnder temperature measurements or evidence that the mattress improves a health condition. Use the actual feel and the full return policy to decide whether the premium is useful to you.
Four Seasons: two sides need a clear purpose
Four Seasons is marketed around a dual-sided design and different seasonal sleeping surfaces. That makes it a more specific purchase than simply choosing another one-sided hybrid. Before ordering, establish how the two sides differ and whether the firmness on each side suits you.
A flippable design also creates a care requirement. Ask for the weight of your size, whether the maker recommends turning or rotating it, and whether the bedroom layout makes that practical. Do not compare it with a one-sided bed as though both have the same upkeep.
Sleeper fit
- Side sleepers: compare a softer Back Supporter or Copper configuration with enough shoulder cushioning. Four Seasons is worth considering only if at least one of its sides has the pressure relief you need.
- Back sleepers: try a Medium and a firmer alternative with the same general top construction. Look for stable pelvic support rather than choosing from the collection name alone.
- Stomach sleepers: start with a flatter Firm surface and test whether the hips sink through its comfort layers. A plush Euro Top can undermine that fit regardless of the support branding.
- Couples: compare partner movement and the usable edge on the exact model. A hybrid’s pocketed coils are a relevant construction feature, but no measured motion or edge score is assigned here.
- Hot sleepers: separate cool-touch feel from overnight temperature. Cover treatments and copper foam do not remove the effect of thick bedding or a warm room.
These are general fit estimates from construction. A collection name cannot substitute for lying on the exact firmness or using an eligible home trial. If you have tried one Spring Air model before, record that model name and year so a retailer can identify whether the new build is comparable.
Value, pros & cons
Spring Air is most compelling when a retailer can show you a clear specification sheet and a competitive final price for the feel you prefer. Compare mattress-only prices with mattress-only prices, then separately include the base, delivery and removal service. A package can look cheaper while including a different foundation or less generous comfort policy.
The Copper and luxury lines should be assessed for the actual comfort improvement, rather than the number of named technologies. Similarly, Four Seasons is a good fit for a buyer who values its two-sided design; it is less useful if the second side will never be used.
We would shortlist a Back Supporter configuration first, then use Copper, Four Seasons or Chattam & Wells as a specific upgrade comparison. That approach makes the additional cost easier to judge.
Reasons to consider it
- Multiple coil-hybrid comfort choices in Back Supporter.
- Copper offers both hybrid and foam constructions.
- Four Seasons gives shoppers a current dual-sided option.
- Chattam & Wells adds a distinct luxury line to compare.
Tradeoffs to consider
- Model names and constructions can vary by retailer.
- The direct-site trial includes a stated $199 logistics fee.
- The FAQ and refund policy use inconsistent wording about the return-request deadline.
- Collection-wide labels do not establish tested cooling, edge or pressure-relief performance.
Trial, fees & warranty
| Direct-site trial headline | 100 nights, with a 30-night initial adjustment period |
|---|---|
| Direct return pickup | FAQ lists a $199 logistics fee for a pickup/return |
| Trial limits | One household trial return per rolling 12 months; cleanliness and other eligibility conditions apply |
| Return timing discrepancy | FAQ asks buyers to contact support during the first 90 days; refund policy says within 100 days of delivery |
| Warranty headline | 10-year warranty advertised; confirm the written policy for your model |
| Dealer purchase | Use the dealer’s signed refund, exchange, delivery and warranty terms |
The direct-site “free trial” wording should be read alongside the actual Spring Air FAQ. Its listed conditions include the $199 logistics fee, a 30-night adjustment period, opening the box within 30 days, rotating the mattress during the trial and keeping it clean and odor-free. The policy also excludes certain accessories, clearance products and non-advertised-price purchases.
The deadline wording needs care: the FAQ says to reach out during the first 90 days, while the refund-policy page says a return can be initiated within 100 days of delivery. Get the applicable deadline in writing from Spring Air for your order, and use the earlier contact window if you are considering a return.
These terms apply to a direct online order. A local store may offer a different delivery method or an exchange instead of a refund. Confirm who arranges pickup, whether original delivery charges are refundable and whether a base or bundle changes eligibility. Keep comfort-trial terms separate from the limited defect warranty.
Frequently asked questions
Are all Spring Air mattresses hybrids?
No. The checked Copper collection includes foam models as well as hybrids. Match the exact model’s support construction.
Is Spring Air Four Seasons two-sided?
The current collection page advertises a dual-sided design with two sleeping surfaces. Confirm the individual model’s side descriptions and care instructions.
Does a direct Spring Air return cost anything?
The direct FAQ currently lists a $199 logistics fee for a pickup/return, along with eligibility conditions.
Is the return window 90 or 100 days?
The headline and refund policy use 100 nights/days, while the FAQ says to contact support during the first 90 days. Ask Spring Air to confirm the terms for your order in writing.
Is Chattam & Wells the same as Back Supporter?
No. They are separate collections with different market positions and model constructions. Yawnder has a separate Chattam & Wells guide.
Do these trial terms apply to a local retailer?
Do not assume so. The selling retailer’s written comfort, exchange and refund terms govern that purchase.
