Luxury Plush vs Gentle Firm: the flip is the whole point

Zenhaven is one mattress with two usable faces. The latex layer inside is five-zone, so it is softer under the shoulders and firmer under the hips on both sides; flipping changes the comfort layer above it, not the support philosophy.

Which side to start on: if you are unsure, start on Gentle Firm for two weeks. Latex feels firmer at first and softens perceptibly as it breaks in, so a plush side judged on night one is often judged wrong. What is actually inside a Zenhaven

Two things matter here. First, Talalay rather than Dunlop: Talalay is whipped and flash-frozen, which produces a lighter, springier, more consistent foam. It is the reason Zenhaven feels buoyant instead of dense. Second, there is no polyfoam anywhere — no transition foam, no base foam. That is unusual even among “natural” mattresses, and it is the main reason durability expectations for latex run past a decade.

Latex has an open cell structure and does not soften and cup around you the way memory foam does, so less of your body is buried.
