Nectar Mattress Review (2026): Is the Best-Selling Memory Foam Worth It?

Nectar's pitch has not really changed since it launched: a straightforward memory foam mattress at a price that undercuts almost everyone, sold with a 365-night trial so the risk of buying a bed you have never touched sits with the company instead of you. What has changed is the lineup around it. There are now five mattresses — two all-foam, two hybrids, and a Luxe tier that replaced the old Premier Copper naming — and the right answer for you depends far more on which tier you pick than on whether you buy Nectar at all.

We re-checked every price in this review this week, straight off Nectar's own size pages. Prices below are what the brand is charging today during its running promotion, not MSRP theater.

Nectar prices, size by size

Nectar runs a near-permanent sitewide sale, so treat the numbers below as the real price rather than a limited-time deal. Every size includes free shipping and free returns.

Two things jump out of that table. First, the Twin XL is a bad deal on the Classic — $549 buys you a Twin XL or, for $150 more, a Queen. If the room fits a Queen, buy the Queen. Second, the jump from Classic to Classic Hybrid is only $150 at Queen, and that $150 buys pocketed coils, more edge support and meaningfully better airflow. For most buyers it is the single best-value upgrade in the lineup.

How the Nectar Classic actually feels

The Classic is a true memory foam mattress, which means slow response and a sink-in hug rather than the springy push-back of a hybrid. We would call it a soft-leaning medium — around a 6 out of 10 — and it softens further in a warm room. Motion isolation is excellent; you can get in and out of bed without waking a partner, which is the classic memory foam advantage.

The trade-offs are the classic memory foam trade-offs too. Edge support is modest, so sitting on the perimeter to put on shoes compresses it noticeably. Combination sleepers who flip positions all night will feel like they are climbing out of a groove. And if you weigh over roughly 230 lb, 12″ of foam is not enough support — you will bottom out at the hips and should be shopping the hybrids instead.

Cooling: the honest answer

Nectar markets a cooling cover on every model, and the covers do pull heat away from the surface on first contact. But surface cooling and sleeping cool are different problems. Memory foam traps heat because it wraps your body and reduces air movement, and no cover fabric fully solves that.

If you sleep hot, buy a hybrid. The Classic Hybrid at $849 and the Luxe Hybrid at $1,649 move air through a coil layer, and that is the mechanism that actually matters. We would rather sell a hot sleeper a Classic Hybrid at $849 than a Premier at $999.

Which Nectar should you buy?

Classic ($699 Queen) — budget buyers, guest rooms, side sleepers under 230 lb who do not sleep hot. Premier ($999 Queen) — a modest step up in thickness and cover; the weakest value in the lineup because the Classic Hybrid costs less and does more. Classic Hybrid ($849 Queen) — the pick for most people, and the one we would buy with our own money. Luxe ($1,399 Queen) — 14″ of plush foam for people who genuinely want the deep hug. Luxe Hybrid ($1,649 Queen) — the flagship, and the only Nectar we would recommend to a heavier sleeper or a couple with mixed sleep positions.

Trial, warranty and the fine print worth reading

The 365-night trial is genuine and it is the strongest reason to buy a bed you cannot try first. Returns are free and Nectar arranges pickup or donation. The Forever Warranty is a lifetime limited warranty — it covers sagging beyond an inch and manufacturing defects, and it requires you to use an adequate foundation with center support, so a Queen or larger on a slatted frame needs a center leg or your claim can be denied.

The 30-day price match is the underused one. If Nectar drops the price within 30 days of your order, contact support and they will credit the difference. Given how often the promotion changes, that is worth a calendar reminder.

What we would buy instead

If you sleep hot, weigh over 230 lb, or want the mattress carried into the bedroom and your old one hauled away, a coil-on-coil innerspring is the better tool. It costs nearly three times a Nectar Classic — but it is a different category of bed, and for back sleepers and couples it is the one we recommend most often at the showroom.
