Nectar Luxe Hybrid Mattress Review: Is the Softer Upgrade Worth It?

Our take: The Nectar Luxe Hybrid is worth considering if you want a softer, contouring mattress with a coil support system and a long direct-to-consumer trial. Its extra inch of memory foam makes it a more cushioning choice on paper than the Nectar Premier Hybrid. The trade-offs are a higher price, a tall profile, and a feel that may be too soft for some stomach sleepers.

How we evaluated it: This review is based on Nectar’s published specifications and policies, not a hands-on test of the current Luxe Hybrid. We have not independently measured its firmness, cooling, motion transfer, edge support, or durability. Individual experience will vary. Yawnder sells Nectar mattresses, which creates a commercial relationship; policies and prices can differ by seller.

Who should consider it?

  • Side sleepers seeking cushioning: The substantial memory foam layer is designed to contour around shoulders and hips. Whether it relieves pressure for you depends on body weight and preference.
  • Shoppers who like a hugged feel but want coils: The hybrid pairs memory foam with individually wrapped springs rather than an all-foam base.
  • Buyers who want time to decide: Nectar advertises a full-year home trial for eligible direct purchases. Check the seller’s terms before ordering.

Consider another option if you prefer a distinctly firm, buoyant bed, sleep primarily on your stomach and need a firmer surface to keep your hips comfortable, or need a lower-profile mattress. The 14-inch height may require deep-pocket sheets and will raise the overall bed height.

Construction and expected feel

Nectar lists a cooling-fiber cover with an antimicrobial treatment, followed by 3 inches of pressure-relieving memory foam and 2 inches of responsive foam. An 8-inch layer of individually wrapped coils sits over an inch of foundation foam, with a shift-resistant bottom cover. Nectar describes the mattress as medium-soft. Expect a more enveloping feel than a firm innerspring, though this is an inference from the design rather than a tested result.

The coil core may make changing positions easier than a deeply contouring all-foam bed, but memory foam can still feel slower to respond. If you share a bed, the foam and individually wrapped coils suggest some motion absorption; we cannot quantify partner disturbance without testing. Nectar also promotes upgraded edge support, but we have not independently assessed how secure the perimeter feels when sitting or sleeping near it.

The layers and what they mean

Nectar lists a cooling-fiber cover over 3 inches of memory foam and 2 inches of responsive support foam. The support core uses 8-inch individually wrapped coils over 1 inch of base foam. The cover and memory foam influence the surface feel, while the coil core supplies deeper support. A thicker comfort layer may change contouring, but layer thickness alone cannot establish whether this mattress will relieve pressure for your body.

The brand advertises an optional NectarCool cover upgrade. Compare the full checkout price with and without it and use your normal protector and sheets when evaluating the surface. We have not independently compared the two covers or measured overnight temperature.

Does the Luxe Hybrid sleep cool?

Nectar markets a cool-to-the-touch cover and says it has more cooling fibers than its Classic Hybrid. It also offers an optional NectarCool cover upgrade. The coil layer can allow airflow, but cooling fibers do not guarantee a particular overnight temperature: bedding, room temperature and how deeply you sink into foam all matter. We have not measured this model’s temperature or compared the optional cover in person.

Luxe Hybrid vs. Premier Hybrid

The Premier Hybrid is listed at 13 inches with 2 inches of memory foam, while the Luxe is 14 inches with 3 inches. Nectar calls the Premier medium and the Luxe medium-soft. Both list 2 inches of responsive foam and 8 inches of wrapped coils. Choose the Luxe if a softer, more contouring surface is your priority; the Premier is a sensible starting point if you want to spend less and prefer the brand’s medium feel. At the time checked, direct queen prices were $1,649 for Luxe and $1,199 for Premier, before optional extras. Actual deals change. Luxe Hybrid vs. Luxe Memory Foam

Both versions are listed at 14 inches and include 3 inches of memory foam, but the Luxe Memory Foam uses a foam support core rather than coils. The hybrid is the more logical choice if you want the potential responsiveness and airflow of springs; the foam model may appeal to someone who prefers an all-foam design. Neither advantage should be treated as a measured result for these particular models.

Price, trial and warranty

On October 27, 2026, Nectar displayed the queen Luxe Hybrid at $1,649, with an optional NectarCool upgrade shown for $99. Prices, bundles, size availability and promotions can change. Check the final cart and compare the complete price with your preferred seller.

For direct purchases, Nectar advertises a 365-night home trial beginning on delivery, free shipping and returns in the contiguous United States, and a Forever Warranty covering eligible defects. The product page encourages a 30-day adjustment period and notes that photos may be requested for a return. Warranty coverage has conditions and does not mean every change in feel is covered. Read the trial information and warranty terms before ordering. Purchases through Yawnder or another retailer can be governed by that seller’s own return, shipping, and trial policies; confirm those terms with the seller.

How to Judge the Feel for Your Sleep Position

Side sleepers: The advertised softer surface and 3-inch memory-foam layer make this a candidate if you want more cushioning at the shoulder and hip. A lighter person may compress the layers less; check for pressure over several nights rather than assuming the label will feel soft to everyone.

Back and stomach sleepers: A back sleeper who likes contouring can check whether the hips and lower back feel comfortable. Stomach sleepers who dislike sinking may want to compare a firmer mattress. A mattress’s firmness label alone does not diagnose or treat back pain, and we have not measured this version’s alignment.

Combination sleepers and couples: Try changing positions on the memory foam before deciding whether the contour feels pleasantly cushioning or restrictive. If sharing, take turns rolling over and getting out of bed while the other person lies still. Sit and lie near the perimeter too; these checks matter if you use the full width of the mattress.

Setup and Ownership

The 14-inch profile makes total bed height worth checking: measure from the floor to the top of your current foundation, then add the mattress height. Allow room for a protector or topper when checking fitted-sheet pocket depth. Ask for help moving the boxed mattress, follow the enclosed unboxing instructions and use an appropriate foundation.

Cooling and comfort can change with bedding, room temperature and how deeply you settle into the surface. Try the mattress with the sheets and protector you actually plan to use. If it has a new-foam smell, ventilate the room and consult the manufacturer’s setup guidance. We have not tested the current model’s long-term durability; a warranty covers qualifying defects under its conditions, not a guaranteed number of comfortable years.

Buying Direct vs. From a Retailer

Nectar’s advertised 365-night trial and Forever Warranty are manufacturer terms for eligible direct purchases; the product page encourages 30 days to adjust and says photos may be requested. Ask the actual seller about the return deadline, any required adjustment period, pickup charges and nonreturnable extras. Yawnder sells Nectar, and its purchase terms can differ from Nectar’s direct offer.

When comparing prices, select the same size and cover, then include delivery, setup, removal and accessories if you need them. A bundled promotion can change the apparent gap between Luxe and Premier. Keep your receipt and law tag, and check the written foundation rules before buying.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Nectar Luxe Hybrid firm?

Nectar calls it medium-soft. A sleeper’s weight and preferred position affect the perceived feel, and we have not independently rated this model.

Is it good for side sleepers?

Its thick memory foam comfort layer and softer advertised feel make it a plausible option for people who want cushioning at the shoulders and hips. A personal trial remains the best way to judge fit.

Can it be used on an adjustable base?

Nectar offers the mattress in bundles with an adjustable base. Confirm compatibility with your specific base and its support requirements before purchasing. Our guide to mattresses for adjustable beds covers compatibility considerations.

Do I need deep-pocket sheets?

At 14 inches tall, the mattress may need deeper fitted sheets. Check the sheet’s stated pocket depth, especially if you plan to add a protector or topper.

Verdict

The Luxe Hybrid’s strongest case is its softer advertised feel and thicker memory foam over a coil system. For shoppers who value a more balanced feel or lower cost, the Premier Hybrid deserves a close look. Because this assessment is based on specifications rather than hands-on testing, use the seller’s trial and return conditions as part of your decision.
