Awara Adjustable Base

Yawnder Reviews · Updated July 2026

Awara Adjustable Base
Awara Adjustable Base

Awara sells an adjustable bed frame designed specifically for their latex hybrid mattresses — full head and foot articulation, three-zone massage, wireless remote, and USB charging. The pitch is straightforward: bundle it with the mattress and save a few hundred dollars versus buying an adjustable base from anyone else. Here’s whether the bundle actually pays off.

Quick take

  • Head/foot articulation: Both, independently controlled 0–60° head, 0–45° foot
  • Massage: Three zones, three intensities, 10-minute auto-off
  • Motor noise: Quiet — around 45 dB at max motion
  • Best for: Awara mattress buyers who want the bundle discount and don’t need premium base features
  • Warranty: 10 years on the frame, 25 years on the motor

Yawnder Editor’s Pick · Awara

Bundle the Awara Adjustable Base with any Awara mattress — save on both.

Who should bundle vs. buy separately

  • Bundle if: you’re buying an Awara mattress anyway, you want independent head + foot articulation, you sleep with a snoring partner, or you read/work in bed.
  • Skip if: you already own a Tempur-Pedic Ergo, Purple Ascent, or Reverie 8Q — those are functionally better bases and you’re not getting an upgrade here.
  • Buy separately from Malouf or Reverie if: you want zero-gravity presets, anti-snore lift, or wall-hugger articulation. Awara’s base doesn’t include those.

Features that actually matter

  • Independent head and foot lift: the actually-important feature. Head raises to about 60°, foot to 45°. Both move independently — you can raise the foot without touching the head, which matters for circulation and edema.
  • Three-zone massage: head, lumbar, and foot. Three intensities. Auto shut-off at 10 minutes. It’s fine — not spa quality, not gimmicky.
  • Under-bed LED lighting: soft blue nightlight, remote-triggered. Genuinely useful for late-night bathroom trips.
  • USB charging ports: two on each side of the frame. Standard USB-A. No USB-C or wireless charging.
  • Wireless remote: RF, not IR — no line-of-sight needed. Two memory presets.

What it’s missing

  • No zero-gravity preset button (you have to set position manually)
  • No anti-snore preset
  • Not wall-hugger design — head lift moves you away from the wall
  • No app control or SleepIQ-style tracking
  • No head tilt (some premium bases articulate the pillow area separately)

Pros

  • Priced well when bundled with an Awara mattress
  • Quiet motor — noticeably quieter than budget Amazon bases
  • Independent head + foot articulation
  • 10-year frame warranty is strong
  • Assembly is straightforward — 30 minutes solo

Cons

  • Missing zero-gravity and anti-snore presets
  • No app control or smart-home integration
  • Not wall-hugger — you’ll drift away from the headboard
  • Massage is a nice-to-have, not exceptional
  • Standalone price is close to a Reverie 3E or Malouf E255, which have more features

Awara base vs. Tempur-Ergo, Reverie 8Q, and Malouf E455

Versus Tempur-Ergo Smart Base: Tempur-Ergo has snore detection, sleep tracking, and app control — features Awara doesn’t offer. Tempur-Ergo is also 2–3x the price. If you want a smart base, don’t buy Awara.

Versus Reverie 8Q: comparable articulation, comparable motor quality, comparable warranty. Reverie 8Q has zero-gravity presets and wall-hugger; Awara doesn’t. Reverie is typically $200–$400 more.

Versus Malouf E455: Malouf E455 adds pillow tilt and zero-gravity. If you’re not bundling with Awara, the Malouf is probably a better standalone buy. But you lose the Awara bundle discount.

Compatibility notes

The Awara base works with any Awara mattress (Classic Hybrid, Premier Hybrid, Premier Plus). It also works with any flexible mattress — memory foam, hybrid, latex. It does NOT work with a traditional innerspring mattress with rigid coils, and Awara won’t warranty the base if you use a non-flexible mattress on it.

Setup and delivery

Ships in a single box with wheels. 30-minute assembly solo — legs screw in, headboard bracket attaches with two bolts, plug it in. No tools other than the included allen key. Ships free.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Awara adjustable base fit under my existing bed frame? No — it replaces your bed frame. It’s a full standalone platform.

Can I use my current headboard? Yes, if it has standard bracket mounts. The base includes universal headboard brackets.

What if I already own a Sleep Number FlexFit base? Keep it. Sleep Number bases are functionally similar and don’t need replacing to work with an Awara mattress.

How loud is the motor? Quiet — around 45 dB at max motion. Won’t wake a partner.

Split King option? Yes — two independent Twin XL bases with two remotes.

Verdict

The Awara adjustable base is a solid mid-tier option that makes sense as a bundle with an Awara mattress. As a standalone purchase, the Reverie 8Q or Malouf E455 offer more features at a similar price. Buy it if you’re already ordering the mattress and want everything in one box.
