YAWNDER MATTRESS COMPARISON
Disclosure: Yawnder sells both mattresses featured here. Product options, prices and purchase terms can change.

Our Verdict
Choose the Titan Plus Core if you want a firm hybrid designed specifically for larger bodies. Choose the Plank Firm Luxe if you want a flippable hybrid with a firm side and an extra-firm side.
The Titan focuses on firm plus-size support; the Plank gives you two very firm surfaces in one mattress. If you are unsure whether you like an exceptionally firm bed, try the Plank before buying. A firm mattress is not automatically the right fit for every sleeper, including every heavier sleeper.

The Main Difference: Plus-Size Design vs. Two Firm Sides
Titan describes the Plus Core as a firm mattress built for larger sleepers. Its foam comfort layers sit on an 8-inch individually encased coil system. The Core is intended to be used with its comfort surface facing up; do not flip it to sleep on the underside.
Plank Firm Luxe puts comfort layers on both sides of a 6-inch coil unit. Flip the entire mattress to choose between firm and extra-firm. This is a practical advantage if you know you enjoy a firm bed but want to decide just how firm after trying it.
The number of inches in a coil unit alone does not prove that one mattress is more supportive or durable for a particular person. The coil design, foams, foundation and individual sleeper all matter.
How Firm Are They?
Titan describes the Core as firm. Plank describes the Firm Luxe as having a firm side and an extra-firm side. Those are manufacturer descriptions, not a matched head-to-head measurement, and perceived firmness changes with body weight.
For stomach sleeping, either firm design is worth trying if you want to limit hip sink. Back sleepers should look for support under the hips and comfortable contact at the lower back. Side sleepers, especially those sensitive at the shoulder or hip, may find either too firm; consider a more cushioned model such as Titan Plus Luxe if pressure builds.
Weight Capacity and Foundation
Titan markets the Core for plus-size sleepers and states that its design supports over 1,200 pounds. Plank’s current product FAQ lists up to 950 pounds for Brooklyn Bedding mattresses and suggests considering Titan for sleepers over 300 pounds who want more substantial support. These are manufacturer claims; confirm the applicable limits for the exact size and whether they refer to combined weight before purchasing.
Both also need a compatible, sturdy foundation. Check the manufacturer’s current requirements for slat spacing, center support and adjustable-base use. A mattress’s published capacity does not override the capacity of the frame beneath it.
Cooling, Height and Flipping
Both offer an optional GlacioTex cooling cover; Plank places its cover on the extra-firm side. It is designed to feel cool on contact, not to provide powered cooling. Bedding and room temperature matter too. Check the actual cover option and cost before ordering.
Titan’s product page lists the Core at 12 inches, while Brooklyn Bedding’s model guide lists 11 inches. Confirm the height of the version you order. Plank’s product page lists the Firm Luxe at 13 inches, while its comparison guide lists approximately 13.25 inches. Verify the chosen size and configuration before buying fitted sheets. If you choose Plank, plan for the space and help needed to flip a large mattress safely; follow the manufacturer’s directions.
Couples and Edge Support
Two very firm surfaces can be appealing when both partners like a flat, firm feel, but they may not suit a couple with very different preferences. Test both Plank sides and the Titan with your partner when possible. Sit and lie near each edge as well; a reinforced-looking design or thicker coil unit alone does not establish the best edge for your needs.
This comparison uses published specifications and does not claim a new controlled head-to-head test.
Price, Trial and Returns
Compare the same size and cooling-cover choice, including delivery and any setup or removal fees. For split sizes, verify whether the price is for one half or the complete set.
For eligible Yawnder mattress orders, the Yawnder return policy describes a 100-night trial with a 30-night minimum and a $200 per-mattress return processing fee. The fee is waived for an eligible exchange to a different Yawnder mattress; any price difference applies and the replacement is final sale. Exclusions, including floor models, apply. Check the written terms and eligibility before ordering. Manufacturer-direct trial offers can differ. Read the actual warranty and foundation requirements before ordering.
