Serta iSeries NXG Hybrid Review (2026): 1500 to 4500
iSeries NXG is Serta's higher-priced contouring-foam family with both hybrid and all-foam branches. This review covers the four hybrid tiers. The model numbers organize different comfort packages, but they do not form a simple ladder from firm to soft. A 3500 Firm can be a more structured choice than a lower-numbered 2500 Plush.

Quick verdict
Choose the NXG Hybrid by feel before tier: 1500 is Firm, 2500 is Medium or Plush, 3500 is Firm or Medium, and 4500 is Ultra Plush. The 3500 and 4500 add micro coils, but that upgrade should not be mistaken for a universal increase in firmness or support.

Reasons to consider it
- Four tiers with explicit current feel choices
- NXG memory foam over five-zoned spring support
- Micro coils in 3500 and 4500
- Selected upper tiers offer split-head sizes
What to weigh carefully
- Tier number is not a universal firmness or support score
- No current Yawnder standardized NXG hybrid measurements
- Split-head sizing must be matched to the correct base
- Older iSeries and iSeries Hybrid names are not verified equivalents
Current models and firmness choices
The model/tier and the selected feel belong together. The summaries below evaluate the current listed builds from manufacturer specifications; they are not a claim that every configuration has been sleep-tested at Yawnder.
iSeries NXG 1500 Hybrid Firm
1500 Hybrid Firm is the entry NXG hybrid. It pairs the Firm feel with NXG memory foam, the Q4 zoned support system, and a CoolFeel cover. It is the first model to compare for a back or stomach sleeper who wants a steadier surface and does not specifically need the upper-tier microcoil package.
Current listed feels: Firm. Queen: $2,199.
iSeries NXG 2500 Hybrid

2500 Hybrid is offered in Medium and Plush. Its overview adds Deep Reaction gel memory foam. Medium is a useful starting point for mixed positions, while Plush is the softer comparison for shoulder and hip cushioning. Both listed Queen feels share a price, so this decision should be driven by comfort rather than an assumed better-value firmness.
Current listed feels: Medium; Plush. Queen: $2,499.
iSeries NXG 3500 Hybrid

3500 Hybrid offers Firm or Medium and adds micro coils plus the CoolFeel Plus package. It is the key comparison against 1500 Firm or 2500 Medium when evaluating the added comfort system. Selected split-head Queen and King sizes are listed, but a split-head mattress is not equivalent to two separate Twin XL mattresses for independent full-length adjustment.
Current listed feels: Firm; Medium. Queen: $2,899.
iSeries NXG 4500 Hybrid Ultra Plush

4500 Hybrid Ultra Plush is the softest named hybrid in the current NXG range. It includes NXG memory foam, Q4 zoned support with micro coils, and the CoolFeel Plus package. It deserves a shortlist for a person who specifically wants substantial cushioning. Back or stomach sleepers concerned about hip sink should compare the firmer models rather than assuming the premium tier is automatically more supportive.
Current listed feels: Ultra Plush. Queen: $3,199.
Construction and expected feel
The hybrids combine high-density NXG memory foam with a five-zoned Q4 spring system and BestEdge perimeter support. The 2500 adds Deep Reaction gel memory foam in its overview. The 3500 and 4500 add micro coils and the CoolFeel Plus system, while the 3500 also lists Serta Support Foam. Q4 is a linked four-in-one spring design, rather than a generic independently wrapped coil unit.
NXG is aimed at a contouring memory-foam preference over spring support. Start with 1500 Firm or 3500 Firm if substantial sink is not what you want. The two Medium options, in 2500 and 3500, provide a useful comparison of different comfort packages at a similar named feel. Side sleepers who actively prefer softness can compare 2500 Plush with 4500 Ultra Plush. Those descriptions are manufacturer feel labels, not measured Yawnder firmness ratings.

Which sleepers should compare it?
| Sleeper | How to choose |
|---|---|
| Side sleepers | Compare Medium and softer options for shoulder and hip cushioning. Check that the waist and pelvis remain supported; a Plush label alone is not enough. |
| Back sleepers | Start with a balanced Medium or Firm where offered. Check support through the lower back and avoid a top that lets the pelvis sink much farther than the upper body. |
| Stomach sleepers | Compare the firmer available builds. A thick, soft pillow top deserves particular care if it allows the hips to drop. |
| Combination sleepers | Test turning through your usual positions. Comfort-layer depth and the selected firmness can matter as much as whether the mattress has coils. |
| Different body sizes | The same mattress can feel different to lighter and heavier people. Check shoulder pressure, hip support, and edge use on the exact configuration; we have not established a tested weight cutoff for this current family. |
Cooling, movement, and couple considerations
Cooling
The lower tiers list CoolFeel covers and carbon-fiber memory foam; the upper tiers describe a CoolFeel Plus package. A cool first touch and a heat-conducting additive do not establish how the mattress performs through an entire night. We have not measured the current 1500-to-4500 cooling differences, so compare the comfort rather than assigning the highest tier a fabricated temperature advantage.
Couples, movement, and edges
BestEdge and the zoned spring design give this range a support-oriented specification, while the foam is intended to contour and control disturbance. We have no current NXG hybrid accelerometer or edge-load measurements. Couples should test the exact firmness together and compare the easier movement of a firmer surface with the deeper cushioning of Plush or Ultra Plush.

When the upgrade makes sense
The verified Queen prices step from 1500 through 4500, but a higher model number buys a different comfort stack and feel choice. The 2500 Medium and 3500 Medium are a useful direct comparison if you want to judge the microcoil upgrade. The 4500 should be chosen for a clear Ultra Plush preference, not simply because it sits at the top of a chart.
Trial, warranty, delivery, and retailer terms
Direct purchases from Serta.com are described on the current product pages with a 100-night trial and a 10-year limited warranty. Serta recommends at least 30 days to adjust before initiating a comfort return. Warranty coverage addresses qualifying defects, rather than guaranteeing that you will prefer a firmness for ten years.
Serta’s current traditional-mattress product pages describe in-home delivery and old-mattress removal for qualifying direct purchases. Confirm the actual delivery date, access requirements, and removal eligibility on your order.
Retailer policies can differ. Get any exchange fee, return fee, required protector purchase, delivery charge, and final-sale restriction in writing before checkout. A manufacturer’s direct trial is not automatically the policy for a purchase from another store.

Common questions
Does 4500 mean firmer or more supportive than 1500?
No. The current 4500 Hybrid is Ultra Plush, while the 1500 Hybrid is Firm. Numbers organize material packages, not a universal firmness scale. Compare the exact feel and the support you experience in your normal sleep position.
Does this review include a current hands-on test?
This is a research and editorial evaluation of the current manufacturer-listed builds. Product materials, exact variants, prices, and shopping considerations are identified separately from Yawnder’s standardized testing. We do not assign new numeric scores without a test record for the exact configuration.
Which firmness should I choose?
Start with your usual sleep positions, your body size, and how much surface contouring you prefer. Compare the actual listed feel rather than choosing from a tier number or mattress height. Use the sleeper-fit table above, then test the exact configuration or confirm the seller’s trial terms.
Can it work with an adjustable base?
Serta lists adjustable-base compatibility on these product pages. Confirm the exact mattress size and selected base, particularly for split-head sizes, and follow the support and foundation requirements supplied with the mattress.
Can I try it at Yawnder?
Contact our Encinitas showroom before visiting to confirm which brands and exact models are on display. Inventory and display selection can change; a published review is not a guarantee that a mattress is currently on the floor.
