Quick verdict: Posh + Lavish is a place to start if you want to compare higher-end latex mattresses and different upholstery or coil constructions in person. The Avocado Green Mattress is a useful comparison if you want a latex-and-coil hybrid with several named comfort options and published organic certifications. Neither brand is a universal winner: compare the exact model, feel, final price and seller’s return terms.
Yawnder sells mattresses, and some links may earn a commission. This guide compares published product information and shopping considerations; it does not claim a new controlled head-to-head test of every model.

The examples above describe specific products and do not apply to every mattress either brand makes. See the Posh + Lavish AuNaturale Chic specifications and Avocado Green specifications for current details.
Materials and construction
Posh + Lavish offers different designs rather than one standard build. For example, its AuNaturale Chic combines natural latex above individually wrapped coils with wool and cotton, while other models use all-latex or different comfort layers. Ask the seller for the current layer description and whether a separate top mattress is included.
Avocado describes Green as a latex-and-coil hybrid. Its Medium and Plush configurations use GOLS-certified organic Dunlop latex; the Ultra Plush adds Talalay latex that the company identifies separately from its GOLS-certified Dunlop layers. Avocado states that the finished Green mattress is GOTS-certified. Check the specific model and certification scope rather than assuming every component has the same certification.
“Natural” and “organic” describe materials or defined certification standards; neither means a product is literally chemical-free or guarantees that it will suit someone with sensitivities. If you have a latex allergy or another material concern, review the product label and consult your clinician.
Firmness and sleep position
Avocado currently lists Green in Extra Firm, Firm, Medium, Plush and Ultra Plush. Posh + Lavish sells models with different constructions and comfort choices, so compare the model and topper or pillow-top configuration rather than trying to rank each brand on one firmness scale.
Side sleepers may prefer enough give at the shoulder and hip; back and stomach sleepers often start by checking whether their midsection feels adequately supported. Body size, pillow height and personal preference change the experience. Spend several minutes in your usual position on the exact bed you are considering.
Movement, edges and temperature
Latex can feel more responsive than slow-moving memory foam, but a mattress’s overall feel also depends on its coils, upholstery and firmness. If you share a bed, try changing positions while your partner lies still, then sit and lie near the edge. We have not established comparable motion or edge scores for every configuration here.
Wool, cotton and coils can contribute to airflow, but they do not guarantee a cool night’s sleep. Your bedding, room temperature and individual preferences also matter.
Price, trial and showroom checklist
- Compare the same size and configuration. Ask whether the quoted price includes a pillow top, separate top mattress, foundation, delivery and removal.
- Read the seller’s written policy. Trial periods, minimum break-in, exchange and pickup fees can differ between a manufacturer and a retailer. Confirm whether any accessories or floor models are final sale.
- Check support. Confirm the required foundation, slat spacing and center support for the specific mattress and your existing frame.
- Try before you buy. Contact Yawnder’s Encinitas showroom to confirm which Posh + Lavish and Avocado models are available to try.
Frequently asked questions
Which is better for side sleepers?
It depends on the particular mattress and sleeper. Compare a more cushioned configuration from each brand and check shoulder and hip comfort rather than assuming every model from either brand feels the same.
Does Avocado Green have only three firmness choices?
No. Avocado currently lists five named Green options, from Extra Firm through Ultra Plush. Construction and pricing vary across the options.
Are these mattresses chemical-free?
No mattress is literally chemical-free. A certification sets requirements within its defined scope; check the certificate and product materials if a particular substance or allergy matters to you.
Can I try Posh + Lavish at Yawnder?
Yawnder carries Posh + Lavish, but floor availability changes. Contact the Encinitas showroom before visiting to confirm the exact models and feels.
