Our verdict
Consider the Sunset if you like a noticeably soft mattress and want cushioning around your shoulders and hips. Its plush feel may be less appealing if you sleep on your stomach, carry more weight around your middle, or prefer a firmer surface. The best fit depends on the sleeper and the configuration.
Feel and who it suits
Helix describes the current Sunset as soft and rates it around 2–3 out of 10 on its scale. Yawnder’s existing test record lists a 5.5/10 firmness score; firmness scales and individual perceptions differ. Try the mattress in your preferred position and judge pressure relief and support together.
- Side sleepers: Softer comfort layers can let the shoulder and hip settle into the surface. Check that pressure feels comfortable without the waist sinking excessively.
- Back sleepers: A plush surface may suit those who enjoy a closer hug, though others may prefer the more balanced feel of a medium model.
- Stomach sleepers: The softer surface may allow the hips to sink farther than desired. Compare a firmer option if you need more resistance.
- Couples: Consider how both people feel on the surface, movement across the bed, and usable edge space.
The mattress does not have a user-adjustable firmness setting. Optional cover or support upgrades may change the configuration and feel, but they are not an adjustable firmness dial.
Construction and cooling
The current Core listing describes memory and responsive foams over individually wrapped coils, with reinforced sides and a foam base. Helix lists the standard queen at approximately 11.5 inches high. Its standard Breathe Knit cover can be upgraded to a GlacioTex cooling pillow top; the optional ErgoAlign support layer is another paid choice. Confirm the selected configuration and height before ordering.
A cooling fabric can feel cool to the touch, but it cannot guarantee a cool night for every person. Room temperature, bedding, body heat and the mattress’s surface all play a role.

Compare the total price for the size and upgrades you choose; promotions and delivery options can change. Helix currently advertises a 365-night trial for qualifying direct mattress purchases. Frequently asked questions
Can I adjust the Sunset’s firmness?
No. The Sunset is sold as a soft model; it does not have an adjustable firmness setting. Cover and support options are separate configuration choices.
Is it good for side sleepers?
Helix designs the Sunset for people who prefer a softer, pressure-relieving surface, including side sleepers. Shoulder width, weight and comfort preferences still matter.
Will the cooling upgrade keep me cold all night?
It can provide a cool-to-the-touch surface, but the result depends on the room, sheets and the sleeper. It is not active refrigeration.
Does the 365-night trial apply everywhere?
Helix advertises it for qualifying direct purchases. Other sellers may have different policies; confirm the written terms with the seller.
