Comma Sleep Comforter Review

Ben
comma comforter review

Our verdict

The Comma comforter we reviewed in 2020 felt smooth and cool to our tester, with a fuller-looking gusseted edge. It was slightly heavier than the Buffy comforter tested at the time. The tradeoff: a bulky comforter can take several dryer cycles to dry completely.

Availability note: This is a review of the original Comma comforter. We could not verify that the same product, prices or return terms are currently available; check the seller before ordering. Comfort is subjective, and a cool feel does not guarantee a cool night for everyone.

Unboxing and design

The original sample arrived inside a reusable zippered storage bag, with the comforter wrapped in plastic. The bag was useful for storing bedding between seasons.

Materials and sizing

The original listing described an 80% lyocell and 20% recycled polyester construction, with eight duvet loops. It listed a 90-by-94-inch queen and a 94-by-108-inch king. These are historical specifications; confirm the shell and fill composition and measurements of any current listing.

The tester liked the soft, silky feel and the gusseted edge. Loops help attach a cover and reduce shifting, although the cover and top sheet you choose also affect the feel and warmth.

Washing and drying

In the original test, the comforter was machine washed and needed multiple dryer cycles; moving it around in the drum helped it dry. The tester saw no damage after that wash. A single wash is not a long-term durability test.

Check the care label for the specific product and make sure your washer and dryer have enough room for the comforter to move freely. Dry it thoroughly before storage; a large-capacity machine may be useful for bulky bedding.

Who should consider it?

The original review favored this for people who enjoy a smooth, relatively cool-feeling comforter and an easy-to-use duvet insert. Those who want the lightest layer or quick laundry may prefer a thinner quilt. Compare warmth, weight, shell and fill separately when shopping alternatives; older price and material comparisons may no longer reflect current products.

See our Buffy comforter review for another perspective. Measure your mattress and desired drop before choosing a size, especially if you share covers.

Price and buying notes

The review originally reported $129 for queen and $169 for king and a 30-day trial. These are historical figures, not a current offer. Confirm availability, price, shipping and return conditions with the seller before purchase.
