How the trial works
The trial starts at delivery. Birch asks you to keep the mattress for at least 30 nights before requesting a return or exchange. Between nights 31 and 120, contact Birch to start the process.
Are Birch returns free?
Yes. Birch’s September 2026 support policy says mattress returns are completely free with no restocking or return fee. Birch arranges mattress pickup and provides prepaid FedEx labels for smaller eligible items.
Return limits
Birch limits mattress returns to two per customer or household. A mattress replaced under warranty does not receive another 120-night trial and cannot be returned for a refund.
Other products
Foundations and bed frames have a 30-night trial. Protectors, encasements, pillows, sheets, duvets and other soft goods can be returned within 30 days.

Bottom line
