Yawnder Reviews | Updated October 10, 2026 | Manufacturer-specification evaluation

Verdict: Woollux is worth researching for shoppers who specifically want a hand-tufted, wool-filled mattress without latex, foam or coils. Its main strengths are natural material choices, customizable sizes and an unusually traditional, grounded feel. Its main drawbacks are expected wool settling and a relatively short, conditional return policy. This is a research-based review, not a Yawnder physical test.

Review method: We reviewed manufacturer product descriptions, FAQ and purchasing policies on October 10, 2026. Yawnder has not measured Woollux’s firmness, pressure relief, temperature, motion transfer, or long-term wear. Feel and sleeper-fit observations below are inferences from materials and design, not test measurements.

These are different designs, not separate softness tiers of a conventional mattress. Pricing is configured by size, thickness and cover; check the live configurator rather than relying on a single advertised price.

Construction, materials, and expected feel

According to Woollux, its mattresses are handmade in Bulgaria using 100% natural wool fill, hand-tufting, and selectable covers including OEKO-TEX-certified linen or virgin-wool fabric and GOTS-certified organic-cotton fabric. The manufacturer describes the wool filling as OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certified. These are component certifications; do not confuse them with certification of the entire mattress.

The normal Wool Mattress is offered in approximately 3-, 5-, and 7-inch thickness choices. Woollux describes 3 inches as the firmest and most minimal, 5 inches as a balance, and 7 inches as more cushioned, particularly worth considering for side sleepers. These are the brand’s guidance, not our measured firmness ratings.

How will it feel? Expect a denser, more traditional sleeping surface than a typical memory-foam mattress: less deep sink, limited bounce and natural wool cushioning. Woollux says the fill settles by approximately 10–15% during the first few months and the mattresses are overfilled to account for this. Don’t mistake a new mattress’s loft for its permanent sleeping height. Rotate and flip monthly as the brand recommends.

Does it sleep cooler? Wool is breathable and naturally helps absorb and release moisture. That is a credible material advantage for some hot sleepers, but it is not evidence of active cooling or a measured temperature advantage. Bedding, room humidity, mattress protector, base and your physiology all matter.

What about allergies or “non-toxic” claims? A natural-wool build avoids the foam and latex used in many mattresses, but no product can reasonably be called completely chemical-free or guaranteed hypoallergenic for every person. Verify individual sensitivities and ask Woollux for current material documentation if a specific certification matters.

Who is Woollux best for?

  • Back and stomach sleepers: Wool’s firmer, more level surface may feel familiar if you like minimal sink. Alignment still depends on your build and preference.
  • Side sleepers: Start by comparing Woollux’s thicker 7-inch option; very firm, thin wool may not give enough at the shoulders and hips. We have no pressure map to promise otherwise.
  • Combination sleepers: A low-bounce, traditional feel is different from a spring hybrid; try a sample if you can.
  • Couples: The split design helps with handling larger mattresses, but don’t assume individual firmness controls or adjustable-base compatibility without confirming the exact order.
  • Heavy sleepers: Ask about approved loading, settled thickness and long-term wool compaction; Woollux does not publish validated pressure-support measurements for us to recommend a weight cutoff.

Woollux wool mattress topper: a lower-commitment alternative

A wool topper is not a complete replacement mattress. It adds a wool sleep surface over an existing supportive bed, which can be useful if your primary concern is surface feel or bedding materials. It will not repair a sagging support core. Woollux also sells separate wool protectors and related bedding; check the precise fill, thickness and care instructions before choosing.

Shipping, returns, warranty and care

  • Production: Handmade to order; Woollux indicates approximately 7–10 business days to produce before transit time.
  • Shipping: The company advertises free worldwide shipping; confirm the destination and final checkout charges.
  • Return window: Requests within 30 days of delivery for eligible standard-size goods, with return-condition requirements. Custom and personalized orders are non-returnable. The customer generally pays and arranges return freight unless Woollux shipped a damaged or incorrect item. This is not an unrestricted 100-night sleep trial.
  • Warranty: 5 years against covered manufacturing or workmanship defects; not a promise of no normal wool settlement or fabric wear.
  • Foundation: Manufacturer recommends wooden slats spaced no more than 2 inches apart. Solid foundations are possible but need care around airflow. Floor use requires regularly lifting the mattress to air the underside.
  • Care: Monthly flipping and rotation; spot-clean without saturating wool.

Our biggest caveat: Wool is meant to settle while the standard return window is short and custom mattresses are excluded. Confirm the exact size and return eligibility in writing before placing a custom order.

Woollux frequently asked questions

Does Woollux use foam or springs?

The manufacturer states its wool mattresses contain wool filling without foam, latex or springs. Review each variant’s current bill of materials before ordering.

Are Woollux mattresses organic?

Woollux offers a GOTS-certified organic-cotton cover option. That does not establish that the entire finished mattress is GOTS-certified organic.

Can you return a custom Woollux mattress?

Woollux says custom and personalized items are not eligible for ordinary returns. Eligible standard products carry a conditional 30-day return policy.

Should I choose 3, 5 or 7 inches?

The manufacturer describes 3 inches as firmer and more minimal, 5 inches as balanced and 7 inches as more cushioned. Think about your sleep position, size and preferred feel; no one thickness is universally best.

Is Woollux better than a latex mattress?

Not universally. Wool-only mattresses are less springy and more traditional. Latex commonly offers more responsive contouring. Both can be breathable natural-material options.

Has Yawnder tested Woollux?

Not physically. This is an independently written product-specification and policy review.
