My verdict on the Raycop RS2
When I used the RS2 on a mattress in our former Minneapolis showroom, I was surprised by the amount of visible debris collected in a single pass. The handheld design, vibrating pads and filtration make it a specialized option for upholstery, but a dirty filter does not tell us exactly what was collected or prove a reduction in allergy symptoms.
This is my original 2017 experience with a review unit. Availability, replacement parts and specifications of newer Raycop models should be checked separately.
What happened in my hands-on test
I received the vacuum and tested it on a showroom mattress. After one sweep, the filter visibly collected more material than I expected; both sides of the filter were dirty. That was a useful demonstration of pickup, but I did not identify the material in a laboratory or compare it under controlled conditions against a standard vacuum.
The historical RS2 combined suction, agitation and a UV lamp, with a dust box and HEPA filter. It is a dedicated surface-cleaning appliance, so it does not replace an all-purpose vacuum for floors or eliminate the need to launder bedding.

Unboxing and maintenance
My review unit arrived with the vacuum, two filters, a cleaning brush, a cloth and a storage stand. Package contents may differ for other sellers or newer versions.
Follow the exact model's instructions for filter cleaning, drying and replacement. Raycop lists RS2 replacement parts, though availability can change. Do not run a vacuum with a wet filter unless its instructions explicitly permit it.

What the test does—and does not—show
The visible dust in my filter shows material was collected. It does not identify dust mites, prove that the mattress is sanitized, or establish that UV eliminated bacteria or viruses under real household conditions. The former page's comparative and germ-killing percentages were manufacturer claims, not results independently measured in my test.
If dust-mite allergies are a concern, the EPA recommends a combination of measures, including suitable covers, washing bedding and HEPA vacuuming of fabric surfaces. Follow each textile's care label. Sensitive people may want to leave the area during vacuuming because it can stir up dust.
Use the UV feature only as directed; never defeat safety interlocks or expose eyes or skin to the lamp. Ask a clinician about persistent allergy symptoms.
