My verdict on Parachute percale sheets
Parachute provided me with a fitted percale sheet and two pillowcases for review. The fabric felt a little scratchy out of the package, then softened after washing. I liked its crisp texture and the envelope-style pillowcases once the sheets had been washed.
My experience is with an older king-size sample. Check the current collection, set contents, price and terms before ordering.
My original experience
I chose percale because I wanted a different texture from the silky bamboo-derived sheets I already owned. The first impression was rougher than expected; after the first wash it started to soften, and I felt it improved over the next few washes. I also noticed the stitching and liked that the pillowcase's envelope closure helped keep the pillow in place.
The sample included one fitted sheet and two pillowcases. It did not include a flat sheet. That describes the set I received; Parachute's current percale sheet-set listings include a top sheet, so check the exact bundle you are buying.
Percale construction and fit
Percale is a plain weave that usually has a matte, crisp feel; sateen is a different weave that generally feels smoother and drapes more. Neither is automatically better. The original sample was described as long-staple cotton made in Italy, but today's collections and labels may differ.
| Feature | What to check |
|---|---|
| Feel | My sample softened after washing, though individual preferences vary. |
| Set contents | Some current Parachute percale sets list a top sheet; inspect the exact bundle. |
| Pocket depth | Measure mattress and topper and compare with the chosen size chart. |
| Certification | Check the current product's label and scope; no textile is literally chemical-free. |
| Price and returns | Earlier prices and the old 60-day window may have changed. |
Percale vs. other sheet styles
| Style | Typical feel | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Cotton percale | Crisp, matte and lightly textured. | Can wrinkle and may feel firmer at first. |
| Cotton sateen | Smoother, with more drape. | Less of percale's crispness. |
| Linen | Textured, relaxed appearance. | Texture varies by finish. |
| Lyocell | Often smooth and fluid. | Check fiber blend and care. |

Care, price and returns
The current Parachute percale sheet-set listing includes a fitted sheet, top sheet and pillowcase set. Its size chart lists a 16-inch fitted-sheet depth, and eligible direct purchases can be returned within 60 days of receipt. Confirm the precise size, set contents and eligibility on the current product page. Follow the care label and dry fully before storage. My original sample softened after washing, but that does not guarantee every weave will feel the same.
The older review quoted $149 for the king fitted sheet and pillowcases and a 60-day return period. Those were historical. Verify today's package, price and return eligibility—including whether washed items qualify—before purchase. See current Parachute options. Yawnder may earn a commission.
