My Green Mattress Natural Escape Review (2026)

My green mattress

Yawnder reviews · Updated October 2026

The Natural Escape combines a responsive Dunlop latex comfort layer with pocketed coils. It is worth considering if you want a buoyant, medium-firm hybrid made with organic materials rather than a deep memory-foam hug.

Our verdict: In my original test, the mattress felt like a solid innerspring with the quick response of latex. It offered noticeable bounce without the deep sink of soft memory foam. Shoppers who want a plush, slow-melting feel may prefer another style.

My experience with Natural Escape

My Green Mattress supplied the original Natural Escape for review. It was my first latex hybrid, and I appreciated the way the springs and latex worked together: the mattress felt responsive, with some give and a quick return to shape. I described the firmness as medium-firm and found less motion transfer than on a cheaper spring mattress I had in mind. That is a subjective historical comparison, not a current lab score.

The original mattress arrived roll-packed in a box. On a separate trip to visit family, I stopped by the company’s store and met founder Tim Masters. Those experiences relate to the mattress and company at the time; current construction and delivery options should be confirmed separately.

In my original unboxing video, I called the latex Talalay by mistake; it was Dunlop. How Yawnder tests mattresses.

Current construction and materials

My Green Mattress currently describes Natural Escape as a button-tufted hybrid with organic cotton and wool, three inches of organic Dunlop latex and a zoned pocketed-coil system. The company lists up to 1,462 coils; count depends on size. See the current product page for exact details.

The manufacturer identifies the current mattress as GOTS and GOLS certified. GOTS relates to organic textiles and product processing; GOLS concerns organic latex and its processing. Certifications have specific scopes and do not mean a mattress is free of all chemicals or guaranteed to suit every sleeper. Check the current certificate and product listing for details.

Firmness and sleeping positions

SleeperWhat to consider
BackMy original sample felt medium-firm, with a responsive surface. Check for comfortable support under your hips and lower back.
SideThe latex provides some give, but firm-loving and pressure-sensitive side sleepers can experience the same mattress differently.
StomachA less deeply sinking surface may appeal to some stomach sleepers; try it to judge your own comfort.
CombinationThe latex rebounded quickly in my original test, which made it easier to change positions than on slow memory foam.

Motion, edges and temperature

Latex and coils add bounce, so couples who wake easily should try the bed together. I observed less motion on the original sample than on a cheaper spring mattress, but did not record a comparable standardized score.

The current manufacturer lists a zoned coil system; edge support and motion can vary by size and individual weight. Latex, wool and a coil core can affect airflow, but neither materials nor a brief infrared demonstration prove a specific overnight temperature. Sheets, protectors and room conditions also matter.

Natural Escape vs. other latex beds

A latex hybrid pairs latex comfort with springs; an all-latex mattress uses latex for both comfort and core support. Hybrids typically feel different when you press or move across them, but neither design is automatically better. Compare the actual firmness, edge, motion and feel in your sleeping position.

If comparing with Avocado or another organic hybrid, check the exact model, certifications, latex thickness, trial terms and optional toppers. A thicker latex layer alone does not establish which mattress will feel best.

Buying, delivery and trial

The manufacturer currently lists a 365-night trial, free returns and a 20-year warranty for the Natural Escape. Read the current trial terms and confirm eligibility, delivery and foundation requirements with the seller. Prices and availability vary by size and promotion.

Frequently asked questions

Is Natural Escape all latex?

No. It combines a Dunlop latex comfort layer with a pocketed-coil support core.

Is the latex Talalay or Dunlop?

The current manufacturer listing identifies organic Dunlop latex. My original video misstated the type; this is the correction.

Does a certified organic mattress guarantee no odor?

No. Materials can have a noticeable scent, and certification has a defined scope. An odor alone does not establish a safety problem.
