Floyd Mattress Review: Original Hybrid Testing Restored
The Floyd page had lost its construction photos, bowling-ball sinkage, platform-bed grip detail and side-sleeper observations.
Built for the Floyd frame
The reviewed mattress used a non-slip bottom so it would stay put on Floyd’s slatted platform bed. That practical detail mattered more here than on a traditional framed mattress.
Hybrid construction
The mattress combined copper/graphite-infused memory foam, transition foam and zoned pocketed coils with stronger perimeter support.
Medium-firm feel
Our 14-pound bowling ball did not sink deeply. The mattress had a true medium-firm feel with more on-top support than plush hybrid models.
Side sleeping
The upper foam conformed enough to cushion the shoulder, but the overall feel remained relatively shallow. Side sleepers wanting a deep cradle would likely prefer a softer hybrid.
Current-shopping note
Floyd’s mattress lineup has changed over time. The restored review documents the original hybrid designed to pair with the Floyd Bed.
