Cariloha Mattress Review

Cariloha Mattress Review

Cariloha recently launched their own memory foam mattress. It is calld the Cariloha Bamboo Mattress. Cariloha is well known for their bamboo sheets and clothing. In fact on a recent Disney Cruise we stopped in Nassau Bahamas where Cariloha had a store. When looking at a map of Cariloha stores you can see that most of them are in warm regions which makes sense because their clothing bedding and now mattress are designed to keep you cool and comfortable.

Overview of the Cariloha Mattress

Below is a video fo me on the Cariloha mattres calling out some of the major features. A queen size mattress currently retails for $1,100 and comes with a 100 night trial where you can return it for a full refund, note that this trial offer is only available in the contiguous United States.

Once you place your order the mattress will arrive in a box in about a week.

Construction of the Cariloha Mattress

Cariloha put together a nice video of how their mattress is constructed.

Below are the specs of the mattress as listed on their website:

Top Layer

Naturally breathable, hypoallergenic bamboo charcoal memory foam is purified and carbonized in excess of 760° celsius to then be harmoniously blended with state-of-the-art, visco-elastic memory foam for the world’s most comfortable mattress.

Transition Memory foam Layer

Adapts to your body shape, alleviating pressure off the body’s main contour points to ensure a restful night’s sleep.

Base Layer

Improves airflow between you and the mattress keeping you 3° cooler, and helping retain the mattress’ ideal shape.

Features

Side support. Works as a stabilizing system and gives you 20% more sleeping surface. Sleep edge to edge without rolling off. Plus, it extends the life of the mattress up to 50% longer than normal mattresses.

Findings

The charcoal infused memory foam top layer of the mattress is a dense foam so it is great with pressure relief. The layer underneath seemded to compress faster than the top layer what that does is slowly ease you into the mattress.

Here’s a picture to show how much the mattress will sink using a 14 lb. bowling ball.

Below is a video showing motion transfer on the Cariloha mattress. Since this is an all foam mattress there is very little motion transfer which is typical for mattresses of this construction.

Here’s an inside view of the mattress. You can get a sense of how the layers work. As you can see the top layer is a bit slower to recover which helps with pressure relief.

Here’s a side view of the mattress to give you a better sense of how it is made:

Conclusion

The Cariloha mattress is a great medium firm mattress and is great for people that like benefits that high density foam can provide without the drawbacks of a slow recovery. You don’t sink much into this mattress which is good for cooling. Although there is added edge support in this mattress, I didn’t notice any significant transition. I didn’t feel like I was going to roll of the edge of the bed either.

If are familiar with Cariloha sheets and like their brand, I think you will be please with their mattress offering as well.
