How the fabrics actually feel
Sateen: Luxe vs. Signature Hemmed
Brooklinen Luxe is a 480-thread-count sateen with a distinct sheen and a slick, cool-to-the-touch hand out of the bag. It is the sheet people mean when they say “hotel silky.” It also shows wrinkles less than percale and needs no break-in.
Boll & Branch Signature Hemmed is a softer, denser sateen with less shine — more matte cotton than satin. New, it feels slightly heavier and less slippery than the Luxe. After ten washes the gap reverses: the Signature keeps softening while the Luxe plateaus and, on our older sets, starts to show faint pilling along the fitted-sheet corners.

Durability after a year
We wash test sets weekly on hot with normal detergent — harsher than most households.
