Avocado Bath Towels Review (2026): How They Compare

Yawnder Reviews · Buying guide & product comparison · Updated October 7, 2026

Avocado’s bath towels belong on your shortlist if you want organic cotton and a textured, substantial towel. The harder question is whether their premium price buys something you will appreciate every day. This review puts that question beside five familiar alternatives, with matching bath-towel sizes and prices broken down per towel.

Quick verdict

Choose Avocado for its ribbed organic-cotton design and certification focus. Choose Boll & Branch for a less expensive organic alternative, Parachute for lower fabric weight, or L.L.Bean when the price of replacing a whole towel cabinet matters most.

Review basis: Manufacturer specifications, current product listings, and editorial buying guidance. We have not run a controlled, side-by-side absorbency or drying-time test on these six towels; performance expectations below are interpretations of their materials and construction.

What you get with Avocado

The published specifications describe a 700 GSM ribbed towel with a hanging loop. Avocado lists GOTS organic certification and MADE SAFE certification. Those are more useful details than a broad “eco-friendly” claim when you are deciding what to buy.

Reasons to choose it

  • Organic cotton and named certifications.
  • A textured design that suits a coordinated bathroom.
  • Separate bath towels and larger bath sheets.
  • A built-in loop for hanging.

Reasons to compare first

  • Its observed price is higher than every alternative below.
  • Fabric weight does not prove faster drying or better absorbency.
  • A larger towel takes more laundry space.
  • Your bathroom’s ventilation can matter more than the brand.

Avocado towels vs. popular towel brands

These are specific towel lines, rather than averages for an entire brand. Compare the material and size as well as the price: a bath sheet, a washcloth, and a two-pack of bath towels are different purchases.

Price check: October 7, 2026. Selected colors shown, before tax, shipping, and additional checkout or coupon offers. Two-pack prices are divided by two; the per-towel amount is a comparison figure, not a promise that a single towel can be purchased. Avocado’s selected bath towel was $76 against an $89 regular price. Cozy Earth’s page displayed $91.80 for two against $108 regular. Promotions and availability can change.

Reading the photos and specs: L.L.Bean’s photo shows coordinating pieces; its listed price covers one bath towel. Brooklinen’s current Super-Plush 2.0 is 770 GSM, replacing the older 820 GSM version. *Cozy Earth’s 600 GSM figure comes from its matching Waffle Bath Towel Set listing. Certifications are those stated for the selected products; “not claimed” does not mean a towel failed a certification test. Product images are from the respective brands.

How towel weight and texture affect the choice

Plushness: GSM is a starting point

GSM means grams per square meter: fabric weight across a fixed area. A bigger towel can weigh more overall without having a higher GSM. Cotton quality, yarn twist, loop design, and laundering also influence the finished feel, so treat density as one specification rather than a quality score.

For this shortlist, Parachute is the lighter choice and Brooklinen is the heavier one. Avocado, Boll & Branch, and L.L.Bean sit closer together in fabric weight. If you dislike a substantial towel, buying the highest number is unlikely to solve that preference.

Absorbency and drying are different jobs

A towel needs to take water off your body and then release that moisture between uses. Those jobs are not interchangeable. A towel that feels reassuringly thick can still be inconvenient if it stays damp on your hook.

Our practical expectation is that a lighter construction will be easier to manage in a humid bathroom, while denser terry will appeal to shoppers who want more fabric around them. That is an inference, not a measured drying-time ranking. Spread any towel across a rail when possible, avoid layering wet towels on the same hook, and give the room airflow.

Ribbed, terry, or waffle?

Pick the surface you enjoy using. A ribbed design adds visual texture; classic terry has a familiar looped surface; waffle emphasizes a grid pattern. Cozy Earth’s selected towel has two different surfaces, making it worth considering when you want that textured look with terry on the reverse. A weave name alone does not establish a winner.

Which alternative makes the most sense?

Avocado vs. Brooklinen Super-Plush 2.0

Brooklinen is worth a look if your first priority is a plush Turkish-cotton towel and you want to buy a pair. Its updated zero-twist construction is a meaningful detail; older 820 GSM descriptions should not be used to describe the current version. Avocado makes more sense when you specifically prefer its organic-cotton and ribbed-design combination.

Avocado vs. Parachute Soft Rib

These are the closest visual match because both have a ribbed surface. Parachute’s lower density makes it the more promising option if you dislike heavy towels or have limited drying space. Choose by that everyday preference rather than assuming that a heavier towel will always work better.

Avocado vs. Boll & Branch Plush

Boll & Branch is the clearest price comparison for an organic-cotton shopper: the listed fabric weight matches Avocado, with a lower observed price and a classic terry design. If you like both appearances equally, Avocado’s premium deserves a deliberate decision. Paying more for a preferred texture is reasonable; assuming higher price proves better performance is not.

Avocado vs. Cozy Earth Waffle

Cozy Earth is a different material choice. Its cotton and bamboo-viscose blend should not be described as an all-cotton organic towel. Consider it for its reversible texture and the convenience of a matching pair. If you want to stay with organic cotton throughout your bathroom, Avocado or Boll & Branch is the closer fit.

Avocado vs. L.L.Bean Premium Cotton

L.L.Bean is a useful value benchmark for a family bathroom or guest-towel refresh. Its published care details also describe resistance to benzoyl-peroxide discoloration, a practical point for some skincare routines. That claim does not make it stain-proof. Choose Avocado when its material credentials and design matter enough to justify the added cost.

Bath towel or bath sheet?

Avocado lists its bath towel at 30 × 56 inches and its bath sheet at 40 × 70 inches. The sheet offers roughly 67% more fabric area, calculated from those published dimensions. That extra coverage is useful if a standard towel feels too short, but it also takes more room to wash, dry, and store.

Before ordering, measure your towel rail and look at your laundry routine. A large sheet that ends up folded over itself on a narrow rail may be less convenient than two smaller towels in rotation. For a shared bathroom, buying fewer oversized pieces and keeping a dry spare available can be a better use of your budget.

Care: protect the towel you paid for

Avocado’s published care directions: Wash cold with like colors on a normal cycle, avoid bleach and fabric softener, tumble dry on a delicate setting, and remove promptly. Do not dry clean.

Use each towel’s own care label, especially if you buy more than one brand from this table. Do not assume that every cotton or cotton-blend towel can use the same wash temperature. A dedicated towel load also keeps rough hardware such as zippers away from terry loops.

If a new towel sheds, inspect the dryer filter and monitor whether the shedding diminishes. Brooklinen and Boll & Branch acknowledge initial linting in their care guidance. Avoid turning a manufacturer’s first-wash note into a promise about the long-term durability of every towel.

What the certifications actually tell you

GOTS covers organic textile requirements through processing and manufacturing, with environmental and social criteria. OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 addresses testing for harmful substances. They answer different questions; the latter alone does not establish organic cotton content. GOTS guidance and OEKO-TEX guidance explain their scopes.

A certification can help you assess a textile claim. It does not prove that a towel will dry fastest, never shed, or suit everyone’s skin. Keep those buying questions separate from the certification question.

Buying and return details

Avocado’s direct-purchase policy lists a 30-day towel return window, with shipping fees nonrefundable and exclusions for final-sale items. Read the selected item’s terms before washing or using it. The retailer you buy from determines the applicable return policy; an Avocado mattress trial should not be applied to towels.

At the observed prices, two Avocado bath towels total $152. Two Boll & Branch towels total $98, and two L.L.Bean towels total $79.90. Those are arithmetic comparisons before tax, shipping, and extra discounts. Buying one towel first can be sensible when you are unsure about texture, provided you understand the seller’s return conditions.

Common questions

Do Avocado bath towels contain bamboo?

The selected Avocado towels are described as organic cotton. Cozy Earth’s Waffle towels in the comparison use a cotton/viscose-from-bamboo blend.

Which option is best for a damp bathroom?

Parachute’s lower fabric weight makes it a reasonable starting point, but airflow, towel size, and how you hang it affect drying. We have not measured a drying-time winner.

Is a higher GSM towel always better?

No. Choose higher density when you enjoy a substantial towel, and lower density when lighter handling matters more. Evaluate the weave, care directions, and size along with GSM.

Is Avocado worth the extra money?

It can be if you prefer the ribbed design and its certification focus. Compare Boll & Branch before paying the premium for organic cotton, and L.L.Bean if cost is the priority.

Are the prices in the chart for bath sheets?

No. Every price row refers to a standard bath towel, with two-packs normalized per towel. Bath sheets and coordinating hand towels are different items.
