Coop Home Goods Shredded Memory Foam Pillow Reviews
When it comes to finding the perfect pillow, the options can be overwhelming. Shredded memory foam pillows have gained popularity as some of the best choices on the market, combining the softness of down with the support of modern materials. In this review, we dive deep into the Coop Home Goods shredded memory foam pillows, including both their body pillow and king-sized options, to see if they truly deliver on comfort and quality.
The Unboxing Experience
Like many high-quality products, the Coop Home Goods pillows arrive compressed in packaging. Watching the unboxing process is almost akin to revealing a new mattress. The body pillow is slightly larger, but both pillows maintain a compact size for easy handling.
After removing them from the packaging, I placed the pillows in the dryer with a dryer sheet for around 20 minutes. This quick step effectively minimized initial off-gassing. However, it took about two days for the lingering smell to completely dissipate, so if you have a sensitive nose, plan accordingly. An exciting update to the 2017 version of the Coop pillow is the addition of a zipper feature, allowing you to adjust the fill easily to find your ideal loft.
Construction and Design of the Shredded Memory Foam Pillow
The Coop Home Goods shredded memory foam pillow features a cover made from a premium blend of 60% polyester and 40% bamboo. This unique combination offers a soft texture and a bit of stretch to the material, allowing the memory foam to contour comfortably to your head and neck. The bamboo component contributes to the pillow’s cooling properties, wicking away moisture while promoting breathability for a more comfortable sleep experience.
Notably, these pillows are made in the USA using CertiPUR-US certified foam. This certification ensures the foam meets stringent safety and environmental standards, indicating it is free from harmful substances like ozone depleters, PBDE flame retardants, and other heavy metals. The low VOC emissions of less than 0.5 parts per million means you can rest easy knowing you’re not compromising indoor air quality.
Personal Experience: Sleep Positioning and Comfort
As a predominantly stomach sleeper—who occasionally starts the night on my side—I found the combination of the Coop king-sized and body pillow transformative. The body pillow cradled my arms and legs, allowing for a natural alignment that kept me on my side without drifting back to stomach sleeping. The supportive nature of the shredded memory foam means I experienced less pressure on my neck and spine.
Given the substantial amount of memory foam in both pillows, they are noticeably heavier than standard pillows. This is something to keep in mind if you enjoy flipping your pillow throughout the night, as their weight can make this a bit more challenging. Your partner might even feel a bit envious of the attention you shower on these plush pillows!
When comparing these to other similar products, such as the Snuggle-Pedic pillow, the Coop pillows stand out for their balanced bounce and reduced off-gassing. Remarkably, despite offering premium features, the Coop pillows remain budget-friendly, making them a top recommendation in the shredded memory foam pillow category.
Updated Findings: Adjustable Fill
The 2017 update has indeed enhanced user-friendliness with its adjustable fill option. The zipper feature not only allows customization but also ensures you can maintain the ideal loft as your comfort needs evolve. Upon unzipping, you’ll notice the foam quality—consistent and neatly shredded—makes all the difference in achieving comfort.
Conclusion: A Worthy Investment for Sleep Quality
For anyone who primarily sleeps on their side, investing in both the Coop Home Goods shredded memory foam pillow and the body pillow is worth considering. They effectively maintain your body in a comfortable position and can be molded to suit individual needs. Plus, with a 5-year warranty covering loss of loft and a generous 30-day return policy, they offer peace of mind alongside great sleep.
Even as a non-adverse side sleeper, I found them to be game-changers in my quest for better sleep quality. The pillows have even garnered positive reviews, such as those featured in Business Insider, highlighting them as Improved Design – Adjustable Shredded Memory Foam Pillow with Viscose Rayon Cover derived from Bamboo – Removable Case – Coop Home Goods – Made in USA.
If you’re looking for a pillow that adapts to your sleeping style and ensures a restful night, these shredded memory foam pillows are an exceptional choice.

Thank you for the great review
What are the dimensions of each size pillow, as well as the prices? Is a standard size available as well as queen and king?
Thanks for your reply,

Which pillow would you suggest for someone with chronic pain such as fibromyalgia? I’ve been trying to narrow it down between this one, the Snuggle-pedic, and the Nest Easy Breather. While the Nest is significantly more expensive, I can’t find many reviews, but the ones I do find are ridiculously positive. I would appreciate your input since you’ve used both. Thanks!
What I like about the easy breather pillow is that you can adjust the fill. That’s why I often recommend it. Depending on how you sleep and your size, you will want to change the thickness of your pillow.
You can adjust the fill on this pillow as well, so what makes the Easy Breather pillow better? I have purchased this pillow and am unsure if the Easy Breather is worth double the price. Would you say it is, and why?
Thanks!
This pillow does not have a zipper to adjust the fill. Instead you would need to either send it in to have the company adjust or open it and sew it back together yourself. Also, the easy breather has shredded foam and another material that makes it lighter and more breathable.
Both…the Coop Home Goods pillow and Snuggle Pedic pillow, now have a zipper on each pillow to remove or add memory foam. I just recently bought one of each. (6/12/2017)
Ben, I apologize. It appears this review is of the previous model of this pillow. Coop has released a new model, which I own, that has a different case, as well as removeable fill. I think I may order the Easy Breather and compare the two during their 30 day trials.
Interesting. I wasn’t aware that Coop has a new pillow. I’ll have to check that one out too. Thanks!
I wanted to follow up on my previous comment. I did order the Easy Breather and after a few nights I decided to send the Coop back. IMO the Easy Breather offers better support whereas the Coop was similar to a block memory foam pillow which was uncomfortable for a side sleeper due to how much it compresses.
Hello,
Does the tag say what company is used to manufacture the pillow? Seems like coop has another company making them.
Thanks
Good question. I don’t have the pillow anymore so can’t check although I am getting the new one soon so will report back once it arrives.
Does it say what company manufactures the pillow for COOP?
Thanks
The registry number on the label is 43361. When I entered this into the FTC database it lists AQUARIS MFG INC out of Fall River Massachusetts. That’s about all I could find out.
